Please excuse me ignorance on this. I wish to install a BT Car Kit soon and later a BT GPS both for use in conjunction with my XDA II. Can anyone confirm that I can use BOTH devices in my car with the XDA II?
A colleague tells me that to have both devices working with the XDA II via Bluetooth will probably not work. If he is right I will go BT Car kit and wired GPS.
Plus does anyone have experience of the Original Parrot DriveBlue Bluetooth Car Kit (Just plugs into the cigar lighter socket no installation required (easily moved from car to car) , working in conjunction with the XDA II? Any advice or experience appreciated. Thanks, Steve
i sugest that you look around in the xda2 forum to see which
bluetooth devices people have gotten to work with the xda2
my guess is that many xda2 owners dont look much in this forum
since xda2 is pretty new
and most posts here are aboub accessories for the xda1
bt in your car
Steve, I have been using my Jabra BT200 and TomTom BT GPS together in my car without problems (after using Towa's fix). Have read that others have used many different combinations of handsfree & gps thru bt. Hope this helps!

Chop, thanks for this. Please excuse my ignorance but a more learned colleague has asked me to ask if Towa's fix (to sort out the GPS/BT problem) is a software patch or a firmware fix? Do you know the answer to this? Many thanks for your help. Steve

Here are the links, I'm not a 'techie', I just know that these BT tools transformed my infuriatingly unconnectable XDA II into one that lived up to all the promises!

I found this well worth a paypal donation. Hope this helps you out!

is there a way to listening mp3 from bluetooth headset?
which bt stack is the best?
i was using jabra bt258 and able to connect my old xda2 and xphone into the jabra.. so i could use one bt headset for both phone and connected all the time.
tried with xda2s and xphone2 and nothing like it works.. does anyone try it?
I don't think BT headsets were meant for MP3 playback. It won't work. FYI: i'm using a HP Bluetooth headphones with my IIs.. works fine. Occasional static/cutting depending on where my IIs is, but works for me.
Do a search and you'll find more information on this topic. I'm too lazy to search, otherwise i'd do it for you. :
BT headsets work fine to hear mp3 in PocketPC (non phone edition)
but it doesn´t work in Blue angel (or I can´t manage it)
I don´t know if it works in another phone edition
sorry
has anyone try with 2 handset and using one bluetooth only?
bluetooth headset for MP3s
just bought the XDA IIs, and upgraded the rom via the O2 website. I previously had the 6315, which sucked BUT it had the A2DP audio profile for bluetooth. A previous user described the fact that they own an HP headset and were able to listen to MP3s on the IIs. Previously i was able to do so on the 6315 w/ the jabra BT250. I want this ability on the IIs, how did you do it? Please be specific, and talk as if you're talking to a complete novice (YOU ARE, LOL). Thanking you in advance!

do a search of XDA forums - i'm pretty sure it's been discussed.
my only concern is how efficient is this all going to be... don't know about headset, but the phone battery WILL crap out after a couple hours of BT usage... unless u have it cradled in a car or something...
I did some research last night but didn't find out the solution
I have a moto hs850 handfree.
how to use it for listening mp3?
It seems I have added 'A2DP audio profile for bluetooth'
but in the profile 'use hands-free for:
here only shows Telephone calls
is it right? I assume it should be have more option for me to choose

Hi,
I bought a Pioneer DEH-P70BT car stereo it has a internal BT carcit BUT my qtek 9090 is not compatible with the head, my other phone a Ericsson Z600 works without any problem
But my 9090 won't connect to the carkit in de radio
this is also stated in de compatibility list on the pioneer site
if anybody can solve this problem for me, witch give me the option to lose the Z600 again and go back to 1 phone
the pioneer has BT 1.0 and works ok with the qtek S100
pls help
regards John
Hi John,
I am going to order the Pioneer DEH-P70BT soon since my Jabra BT800 headset seems to be useless when I try to call hands-free (this headset is obviously not the best candidate for QTek9090 and people at PDAShop in Rotterdam had already warned me due to compatibly issues).
Anyway, I was searching on the web to see if there are any experiences with DEH-P70BT till I found a few reviews at http://www.kieskeurig.nl
Go here: http://www.kieskeurig.nl/review/96D5EED1A819DFD3C12570230044CEC9.htm and search for Qtek, be aware that despite the official statement of Pioneer (see compatibility list of phones: http://www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/compatibility_Web.pdf) people use this player with QTek9090.
kind regards,
- Avareh
Don't use the register function on the head unit, instead tell it to connect. Then go to the phone and add a BT device with the code 1111. It worked for me with a JAMin.
Regards
you ******* hero. That worked!
I was sure that with Bluetooth you could use two devices simultaneously. I mean for a sample, GPS receiver and handsfree kit. Is that possible? Is it just a problem of the BT stack or it's related to BlueAngel hardware?
Or perhaps it's just that BT protocol does not allow it? Does anybody know?
Thanks in advance.
BT 2 Devices. Autoanswer.
OK, I found it myself. At least with Widcomm stack, it can be done. MS stack didn't let me do it before. I'll try again. Has anybody tried it before?
2 BT devices
Yes, I have a BT car kit and a BT GPS - both work fine together with my BA (and my Wizard)

Are you using WM5? Can you browse your contacts from your car kit? If so, which rom are you using? I'm getting mad about this...
Thank you very much in advance.
u certainly should be able to use several BT devices wuth on (pocket) PC.
now whether this'll work with Blueangel/Windoze Mobile is another question.
Guys,
I understand you are concentrating on the WM5 upgrade and other interesting projects. Maybe, you can take a few moments out to share some of your experience with a newbie....
I am using TuMa v1.5 WM5. I am able to use BT really well (of course, the issue of BT turning off with device on stand-by remains).
I am able to connect with my TomTom and with my Cardo Scala BT headset. The problem is this: If I use the headset to initiate a call using the BT headset (by double-clicking the headset buttom to redial or by pressing the BT headset button to voice dial) the call goes through as intended BUT my voice does not go over the BT headset to the other party. Also, the voice from the other party can be heard over both, the BT headset and the phone. This problem DOES NOT appear if I make the calls using the phone with the BT headset connected to it.
Please advice. Thanks for your help and for a great forum, especuially for us newbies.

bt headset
Select use for phone only. Perhaps then it works.
The headset is connecting to device audio, not phone audio.

Really? ... Wow! I'd better update my firewall again.
How'd you steal that version off my machine! 8)
For the sake of argument, I'll presume you're using v1.4, since it has the most up to date BT elements in it, but v1.3 should be very stable for BT communications as well.

Yeah ... I'm still looking into this. I hope to have this working through the Microsoft Stack. The Widcomm one is still looking like a "last resort", and it really is a bit more 'ugly' to use - especially in it's compatibility and (from what I can see) reliability.

Hmmm ... this sounds like there is still some form of a headset audio routing issue as vastloper indicates. Try ensuring that only one profile is active at the time (headset probably).
I will shortly have all the gear I need in order to properly test this myself too.
FYI: I've now recently purchased the following devices:
- SIRF Chipset Bluetooth GPS Unit
- Motorola HT820 Stereo Bluetooth Headphones
- Jabra BT 150 Headset
- Jabra BT 330 Headset
- BlueTrek X1 Headset
And now have access to another Jabra BT 500 Headset, and another pair of Bluetooth Stereo Headphones.
So ... shortly, I will have the ability to REALLY test everything out myself in the Bluetooth realm.
Now all I need is 5 ears, and enough pockets to carry all this stuff in.
The process I used....
Thanks, vastloper and Tuatara.
Tuatara- genius AND a sense of humor... thats a rare combo! We all appreciate your efforts in bringing WM5 to us. You go out of your way to make it better for us. Thanks.
Regarding the issue on this post, just FYI- I used MOHDWADEA's process for voice command over BT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42923&highlight=
Could this cause the problem? Does this light any light-bulbs, any 'aha' moments? Please let me know- I greatly apprecaiet it.
Thanks,
Sagar

It's possible. I'm not entirely certain what this will change in the configuration (or versioning of replaced DLL's), but it is possible that there are compatibilty issues. Since I don't have a device with TuMa v1.3 on it anymore (one's on Alpha v1.5 testing, and the other is a AKU2 'brick' attempt at the moment), I can't even find out for you.
I can't connect my HD7 with my hands free system in my BMW. It just won't connect. Anyone could make it work?
Mine won't work in my ford sync system, ironically made by Microsoft as well. Lol
Worked on mine and in the MINI...
Go into the settings on the car, click pair new device, it will ask you to search for the car, search on the phone, and pair them.
Once they are paired it takes a while but your contacts and text messages will be on the car.

Thats useless information unless your Toyota has BMW iDrive System.
Mine has successfuly paired with the 7er iDrive System. The only thing you have to know is the bluetooth code of your car. You have to set the car to the pairing mode and on the phone set up the search for the bluetooth devices. You should see the bluetooth headset device named as the last 7 digits of your VIN CODE e.g. mine is: DS79xxx. Then click on the phone on this device and enter the bluetooth code of the car (its somewhere in the manual) and thats it. It takes some time, till the contacts are synchronized with the car and it depends on how many contacs you have in your phone. I have almost 1000 contacts, so it takes couple of minutes.
I tried couple times. I put the i-drive system in pairing mode and I can find the headset in the phone, but when I tap in the headset the connection fails.
Will be pairing my 3 series today and report back.
Paired with Jabra Clipper
Paired with Jabra Clipper . . .
Worked on Music (Hear from Bluetooth headset)
Worked on Phone (Hear from Bluetooth headset)
NOT working on Video (Only hear from HD7)
Waiting for the Update on WP7, including "Cut & Paste" and other improvement.

Ironically it was more helpful than your post
I appreciate all the posts about your bluetooth experiences. I had no problem pairing my HD7 to my Plantronic Discovery 925. The problem is with the BMW system. It worked fine with my previous phones (TP, TP2, HD2, HD2 Android). I'm glad to know that it is working on other BMW, Mini & Toyota (I also own a Toyota, but it doesn't have bluetooth). It means that it will work for me too, I'm just need to keep trying, and I'll do so after work tonight.
It also works fine in my w204 Class, w212 Eclass and 3rd Gen Prius.
Also works with Parrot Bluetooth and BMW non idrive Bluetooth in E92 3er.
You dont state what model of BMW or version of iDrive you have which may help?
As for you Homer.web posting similar info about your 7er would be more use than the unhelpful comments that you have come up with so far. Grow up.

It's a 2006 M5. I don't know the iDrive version.
I was able to successfully pair my HD7. I tried first thing after starting the car (I don't know if that made the difference), but it finally worked.
Thank you everyone.

I dont think, that it make sence if somebody asks particular question, answer something totaly different. How would you like the answer from the BMW service if you call them, that you have e.g. problem with CD player in your BMW car and they would reply: We tried it on Mercedes Benz car and it works OK.
So: if the topic is so specific, its good habit to answer specific post to that topic.
If you have an urge to tell the world, that you successfuly paired your phone with the bluetooth headset, start the new general topic called "Pairing HD7 with headset/car/..."
I paired mine easily the first time. Working perfectly.
