Wiring a Rikaline GPS Mouse... can someone check the pinout? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Accessories

I will soon be wiring a rikaline gps mouse onto an XDA connector, can someone check the pinout for me to make sure this is ok ?
I think it should be:
Code:
XDA Female PS/2 from GPS
------ --------------------------
Pin 5 (GND) Pin 4 (GND)
Pin 8 (RS232_TXD) Pin 1 (TX RS232)
Pin 10 (RS232_RXD) Pin 6 (RX RS232)

}
The PS/2 pin numbers are from the image above, which i believe is the pinouts for the female connector on the GPS (image was taken from manual)
Many Thanks
Neil

Up
Anyone ? I'm going to need to know this soon..
Cheers
Neil

ok i connected my digitraveler to the xda 1. It's not the same GPS mouss but the principal is pretty mutch the same.
You can use these documentation to help to wire the gps mouss.
http://www.mywirelessoffice.com/xda/connector/
http://www.yorch.net/digitravel.htm
Your connection diagram below is good so it should be safe to wire your gps mouss
XDA Female PS/2 from GPS
------ --------------------------
Pin 5 (GND) Pin 4 (GND)
Pin 8 (RS232_TXD) Pin 1 (TX RS232)
Pin 10 (RS232_RXD) Pin 6 (RX RS232)
cheers,
Yann

thanks, I also have a digitraveler which I made a cable for to hook it up to my XDA. This GPS unit is for my dad's xda, as sadly there were no digitravelers left by the time he got his.
Many Thanks
Neil

Pinout for usb headset

Well, here's the idea. Since there are no decent usb headsets that fit the Kaiser (Tilt over here), I'd like to take a stock HTC usb headset, cut the usb portion off, and take my set of Shure headphones and splice them onto the dongle. Problem is tracing the pins from the mini usb to the appropriate wire.
Would like to know if anyone has a pinout of the mini usb port?
Something like:

Data
# A = GND
# B = NC
# C = +DATA
# D = -DATA
# E = +5v
Audio
# 1 = +Mic
# 2 = +Right
# 3 = Switch
# 4 = Gnd
# 5 = Gnd
# 6 = +Left
Wouldn't it be easier to use an adapter?

too ghetto for my taste
This is a rather cool idea - not sure I'd be able to convince myself to start hacking up mu E3C's though!
Good luck.
Ok, the pinout diagram at the top is now verified. I've got everything soldered up and ready, with the exception that I can't decide which ground to use. There are two, and I'm not sure of the implications of using both right and left on one, right on one, left on the other, etc.
Perhaps someone with an adapter can tell me which pin the ground is coming out of on the usb side?

Can someone explain the USB sync/charge interface?

Ok, so hoepfully someone can clear this up as I don't yet have my Kaiser (tilt) and am trying to get some accessories.
I previously had a PPC-6700 which synced and charged via a standard mini-USB jack.
I then upgraded to the PPC-6800 which I only had for about a week (had to give it back to my work). With that device there was a different type of usb jack on it that seems to be what the Kaiser also has. Can someone tell me what this is called?
From my recollection however, this slightly different jack would also accept the typical mini-usb plug as i can remember using my PPC-6700 wall charger on it.
So can you use standard USB to mini-USB plugs to interface the Kaiser with either a PC for sync/charge or to a wall-charger? What is the new interface called and what is the point of it?
thanks much!
I may have actually answerd my own question as I have found (I think) the name for this new interface... EXTUSBTM ? Is this correct. And the point is to interface the charger/sync and audio headset together?
If this is all it does then I should be fine using all my old mini-usb plugs for data interface/charging, right?
thx!
Yes, you can use a standard 5 pin mini USB cable. The port is HTC's 11 pin combination sync/charge/audio port. Both their plug and the standard 5 pin mini USB plugs fit and work.
Wikipedia (for once!) isn't too big on details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_ExtUSB
But basically, it's got 11 pins to handle audio, power and syncing.
Have a look here for pinouts etc.

Activate Navi Panel without Car Kit, with simple mod

Hi
I don't know if people realise this but you can modify a generic car charger to automaticlly activate the Navi Panel mode so you don't need to buy the SU400 kit.
You will need a car charger that is capable of suppying 1 amp, to enable fast charging. ( Use an app called Spoon Charge to check) or disassemble the USB Micro A plug and ensure Data- and Data + are soldered together. DO NOT solder Data - and Data + togehter if not already done so this means the device is not capable of supplying 1amp.
If so you should have a unused pin ( this is called the ID pin) solder this along with Data + and Data - to OV.
When the charger is connected it will launch Navi Panle if enabled and turn on bluetooth and pair to a set device.
I will take a pic of the modded plug and post it up. In theory I would assume the same mechanism is used on more than this device.
Wayne
OMG LEGEND bro. lol. Finally someone figured out HOW to do this so you don't have to buy that overpriced HD2 carkit. Thanks. Mod's this should be a sticky.
mods seriously this should be front page news
Are you sure, that this will work? Did you tried it yourself? Cause my CU-S400 is also activaiting the Navipanel even if i don't have plugged in the Charger! So I think that it hasn't anything to do with the mAh-size of the charging unit....
You're right.
Right connections for recognition Car Kit Mode :

Most probably a hardware issue. You might want to get it to the nearest Samsung Service Center and get the USB Port (or whatever you call it) replaced
I tried to fix the USB port. I teared down my mobile until I got the USB port in my hands and put the pcb under my microscope. I saw a corroded connection from the port to the motherboard. But I don't have a proper solder unit to repair that. So I tried with my big fat soldering iron....and killed one connection. I managed to repair that, so I have the same faulty mobile as before. My next try will be a wireless charging mod (with parts from a palm mobile).
But I bought a spare I9000 already for 50 Euros......

Teyes cc3 problem

Thank you for allowing me to join. I have just got my cc3 and connected it all up and nothing. It is ordered specifically for my fiat Ducato. The pins on the harness provided does not correspond to the vehicle harness. It’s getting power but there’s 2 cables to the Canbus module that are not connected to anything. Hope anyone can help?

Welcome to XDA! I believe this is the thread you need. I haven't found anything on Ducato so feel free to ask away in there

Yes. Post in here "FYT Android Head Units" https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/fyt-android-head-units.12445/
Not "Introductions" https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/introductions.12157/
And, the wiring looms are an issue. I'm currently struggling too.
