Hi all-
I have the T-Mobile PPCPE and would love to upgrade to the i-mate (XDAII) and have various accessories namely TeleType GPS, chargers, etc. Are the serial port plugs/pins the same? What about the CF port on the new backpack? Is it an IO port? I know The i-mate has SDIO. Sorry if this is a redundant post. I searched and didn't find anything. Thanks!
Your gps will work ok, chargers will work ok, only problem is with some usb sync/chargers which will discharge the xda2. I know nothing of the backpack. I would be interested to know if your Arkon mount causes brutal rf breakthrough when the xda or xda2 is being used with it? I find it unusable with the inbuilt speaker on the mount.

Are XDA/iPaq 38.. connectors the same, with the same pin assignment ?
It is just to know if I can use my serial cable for the XDA too.
Thank you about any answer.
Vince

Just take a look at the Connector-site....

XDA II and h2215 Accessories
Do I need to use XDA-iPAQ Connector Converter with the new accessorties for iPAQ h2215/4150, cause iPAQ Connectors are exactly the same size of XDA/XDA II ones and can fit in it ???
I have a lot of h2215 Accessories but waiting for your reply...
I dont know if a converter actually exists, I have rewired ipaq accessories to fit the xda as they may look similar but it has been known to cause hardware damage when a charger for ipaq is plugged into xda. This site carries detailed information about the connecter and the pins that carry all signals and voltage.
Thanks GOD I did not try to use any of them, and thank you very much for your help....
Best regards,,,
Hi all,
Wondered if anyone can help me? I have an XDA1 and have just bought a car kit which looks great. However I need to connect my haicom 203e gps receiver with PS2 plug. The box says GPS navigation is optional but the instructions give no info as to how to connect it.
I have a funny looking plug coming off the main cable where the antenna connects and figured that may be something to do with it.
Has anyone got any info how to connect GPS to the kit itself
Thanks
I have had exactly the same combination.....
Have to take a look this afternoon, to my links. There was a great review of the car kit, where all the schematas were drawn....
I cut of the original GPS-Connector of the car kt and used a PS/connector to vonnect my Haicom gps.....
Stefan
By the way: My complete set will be at Ebay in a few days..... ;-)
Thanks Stefan that would be great - I take it you had a plug with 8 wires If I knew what the 8 wires did I could wire up the Haicom via a ps2 connector. Its the function of each of the wires that causes me the problem.

does the kaiser has the infra red beam connection?
i cant find it anywhere.
Kaiser Beam!
The Kaiser has no IR anymore, sorry.
Expansys seems to recommend this adapter (IrDA InfraRed USB Adaptor) if you'd need it:

$70 for the IR adapter?? like hell i would pay that much, i thot it would be in the $15-20 range. besides, that adapter is for PC, how do we know it would even work with the kaiser with the right adapter?
At least from the picture, it seems that it's just for PC/Laptop since it looks like normal USB, not mini-USB?
and the kaiser is not, to my knowledge, a USB host. So even if you got a USB->MiniUSB adapter, it would not work.
So stupid that didn't include IrDA. We're not done with it yet! Hear that HTC?! Some of us use our phones as Universal remotes and no, providing us with accessories that hang out of the microsd slot ain't a solution!

As long as the conections are the same(mini USB) it should work! I have used my T-Mobile DASH cord with my at&t Tilt before, worked fine! As long as the light says its charging, its fine! Hope that helps you out!
Welcome to XDA!

I also had my TyTN II mains adapter fail (after only a couple of months and about 4 uses). It just made a loud click and would no longer power on so if this is what happened to you, see if you can get a (different) warranty replacement through your supplier. Although the TyTN IIs proprietary extUSB port supports USB 2.0, it's a variety called 'USB 2.0 Full Speed' which (just like USB 1.1 Full Speed) only offers up to 12 Mb/sec and not the 480 Mb/s thats the theoretical maximum for USB 2.0 High Speed. When I plug my TyTN II into the NEC chipset USB 2.0 High Speed capable USB ports on my PC, the 'network' thats created is only a 10 Mb/sec one. Both phones have 5 Volt adapters designed for HTC extUSB ports and the USB 1.1 vs 2.0 differences are not associated with mains charger connections so you should be fine.
Hi guys,
Newbie here.. did do a search but struggling to find info I'm after.
What I'm looking for is a pin diagram for the charger/headphones port on the diamond. Well specifically its the O2 XDA Ignito branded one I have.
Looking for it to try make a custom connection that will enable me to both charge the phone and listen to music on at the same time in the car if at all possible. So essentially I'd wire a car charger permanantly in and have an aux connection into the headunit and try figure out some way of connecting both these to the custom connection.
Any help greatly appreciated!

2 things put me off though. 1) I bought an HTC branded 2 way adapter and it didn't work and 2) it's fugly.
