Hallo,
can i use an XDA I car charger on the XDA II ? have both devices the sam connectors ?
thanks
Yes.
Not for me!
My generic XDA1 charger fits into the XDAII, it says its charging, but it doesn't!! I tried everything.
Mine works fine, also my mains charger for xda1 works fine with xda2, the only problem I have is with the usb sync/charge cable.

samsung and some other 3rd party providers offer the data sync cable for 19.00 usd...that's the cheapest i've found..and none of the olympia, wa carriers have any accessories except the hard leather case, the silicone case and the screen protector.
I bought a 2port usb car adapter that works well and now going to buy from samsung the cord.
I know once people get the proper pinout's ...sites like fommy or cellphoneshop will have them for like 4.99 or cheaper...
i love my tab..but for christ sake...where are all the friggen accessories?...*sigh*
You'll definitely need a real cable, and a charger capable of 2Amp output, or it probably won't charge properly.
I'm using a 1 amp charger from my Garminfone and it works fine (60% to full charge in 1.5hrs)
I also tried a 2 amp Iluv usb charger but it went into usb mode (pc connection mode) and did not seem to charge??
Cable and accessories are expensive!! I bought a data/charge cable from Aliexpress for $6.50. Should have it in about a week. Will let you know if it works. Paid with Paypal so I'm protected.

When i connect my tab to a usb-hub with 3,8amp it does not charge at all, it even continues to discharge. the hub is a 7port belkin with a 3,8amp power supply.

That's because when you plug it into a computer, it negotiates for power with the usb controller. You can see how much power it is getting by looking in the device manager under the usb hub. Most devices can only get 500 mA from a computer usb port.

Its not a computer, its a external belkin 7-port usb-hub with a 3,8amp power-supply.
No computer is connected.
A hub shouldn't really supply power at all without a computer connected to it, it probably defaults to whatever the lowest power setting is. Just because a hub uses a 3.2A power cable doesn't mean every single usb port will have that, it's sharing that power with all of them.
No its not the hub, its the samsung charger thats wired differently.
I just modified a usb-extension cable and now the tab charges from my hub and my laptop.
The changes you need to make to the cable have already been described here.

Also, you dont need 2A.
The samsung charger is charging with 1,5A only because it has 5,4V.
With 5V you will have only 1amp, so no need to buy a 2A charger/battery.
And yes it just jumped up 1% charging from my laptops's usb port while the tab was running.

Just to confirm, the DX cable both charges and syncs properly? I only ask as I had some bad experiences with ipod cables/docks from DX so I wanted to be sure before ordering.
If you need any other items why not go to the t-mobile store? Two items gets you 20% off, three items gets you 30%. They have lanyards for 5 bucks. Get with a friend and split the sale getting you the discounts.
I have a question for the xda community hopefully you guys can help me out: ok so i have been charging my tab in my car using both the cigarete lighter and ac outlet, but i have noticed that it discharges faster than it charges, for example if i am using the gps while charging the tab the tabs battery will drain. On the other hand if i am charging the tab at home on a regular wall outlet it charges fine. In comparison my samsung galaxy s charges fine in the car via the cigarete lighter. I am using the original charger that came with the tab. Any ideas as to why it drains faster than it charges? Thanks.

The Galaxy Tab USB port is wired slightly differently to other USB ports, which results in only getting a trickle-charge from regular USB cables. You need something like this...
http://cgi.ebay.in/USB-car-wall-charger-adapter-plug-Samsung-Galaxy-TAB-/190522553195
I can't vouch for that particular seller, but I have one of those adaptors and it makes all the difference when plugging into anything USB.
Incidentally, when you say you're using the charger that came with the tablet, are you saying that it came with a car charger? I've not heard of that before.
Check the output of the charger. It should put out 2000mA. It should be written somewhere on the charger.

I had read that the port was wired differently. Thanks for the link into ebay for the charger adapter. For the price, it's worth checking out.
I guess I can give it a try

Does anybody has been tried to Charge #GNote2 using non samsung charger? example Sony Charger, iPad Charger? does using another brand will cause some problem? or it's okay?
I use a charger from my old HTC Amaze 4G at work and a random radio Shack dual USB car charger. Both work fine, no issues and I've had my phone since release day.

I've used at least 4 different chargers and they all work fine, it just charges faster with a higher amp output
Thanks you...
The best charger Ive used is the HP touchpad charger.... 2A
im just using the 2A charger i got with my nexus 7. works like a dream.
Does anyone have a 2.1amp or fast charger that works for the Note4? My Note 2 and 3 work great with these chargers but the Note4 wont even recognized its plugged in. I've tried this on 2 chargers in my work truck and my personal car, it just refuses to see the chargers. It does work plugged into my 500ma aux USB on my heatunit though.
Working in my car. Not sure if it ur charger or cable.
NOTE 4
My two anker dual slot 4.8a chargers work fine in my car.
Works good for my belkin 2 amp charger..

No issues here
I'm using a 3.1 amp dual usb charger I got at Walgreens with a old Motorola branded usb cable and it's working just fine. Ran navigation and it continued charging.
These are two Mediabridge chargers. It seems they changed it from 2.1 to 2.4 and added Note4 in the description. Ill have to order the new version and see if it works
(New one)

Same Issue
I am having the same issue. Have a radio in my office that has a dock, and when my Note 3 is in it, it charges just fine. Plug my Note 4 in and get NOTHING. it hooks up bluetooth, so i CAN plug it into a separate charger and just stream to it, but its annoying.
Does anyone know if there is a usb c or micro usb connected charger available?

I had to try to connect the charger to my phone using a standard female USB-A to USB-C adapter and it worked perfectly.
So to answer your question, "There is, sort of, just buy the adapter you need and use that [emoji846]"

Looking for something I can use with longer existing cable. Don't understand why they supplied charger with attached cable. My S3 Frontier charger has socket.

I think that I read somewhere that the reason there is no plug supplied with the charger is that "most people have lots of chargers already". But also I guess it is a way for us to hand over even more money.
I have not tested this fully but I bought a new, third party, charging cradle for my Gear S2 watch and I would guess that stand should be able to charge the watch 3 also as it is a bit bigger than the original Gear S2 cradle.
Tho I have not really looked into the specs either the S2 cradle or the Watch 3 charge pad.
