Theory of unlocking iPAQ 6315 (volunteers/developers needed) - Off-topic

I'm also one of this lucky owners of an iPAQ 6315 -> locked by T-Mobile US.
I live in the Netherlands and use the dutch T-Mobile, but calling and mailing doesn't give anything that looks like an unlock code..
So thats why i thought about using the power of WM2003 on my iPAQ to crack it's own code..
What i'd like to do is to track down HOW and WHERE the phone part is unlocked.
fact #1
To unlock the device, you have to go to the settings -> phone band.
this is represented by the file \\windows\PhoneBand.cpl (which can be downloaded to PC using ActiveSync).
fact #2
The is 8 digits long(so 10million possibilities). BUT their are (at least) 7 codes valid to unlock your phone(i've been told by a T-mobile support rep, not confirmed yet). This would narrow down the posibilities to about 1.5million numbers... (this shouldn't be to hard to generate and test
So what i'd like to know:
- is it possible to mimic the unlockcode insertion part, using ie. a piece of self programmed code, to trial and error the unlock code.
i think this should be possible; So who's handy with .NET mobile and who help can track down the exact position of this code handling part?
let's unite!

Good luck on your mission

hehe lol, thanx!
but i was hoping on a more .... constructive response
nevertheless, thanks.... gonna need it

bootstrapping
Allright, break down what happens, and after that try to create toolthing of it
- in Start->Settings->Phone Band (\\windows\phoneband.cpl), open a new window by using ctrl+shift+tap on screen
- this opens a new window (is this a seperate program / file) where the unlock code can be entered.
- enter a code
todo: create a tool that enters a code here
- system checks (this takes about 5 secs.. can be anoying if trying to find a key in 1.5 million possibilities)
- if fails, system adds +1 to an internal counter, after 3 attemps no unlocking can be done. Soft reset should reset this counter.
Todo: Find this internal counter.
right.. that should be it

Internal Use SPy
nifty tool (quite NOT usefull, but who cares)
when in a window, click and hold the big round key and tap on the top bar, a popupwindow with current window specs should come up.
This is what it says in the Unlock Code window (exactly)
Code:
hwnd= 506290 style= 900000c4 ex= 9
hwndParent=0 style=0, ex= 0
hwndOwner= 0
Class= Dialog
Title= Phone Unlock
Window= 0 1a f0 123
Client = 0 0 ee 10a
what i can make out of this that it doesn't have a parent... Which probably means it is a seperate file thats is being loaded .. . and possibly exploitable (by using the info of the posts above)

iPAQ h 6315 bootloader
I received my iPAQ h6315 which is locked to T-Mobile and I’m ready to unlock it, I think the first thing I’m looking for is how to put this device in bootloader?

Press Contacts Key (Bottom Left), Inbox Key (Bootom Right) and Soft Reset at the same time, Wait a few seconds until the screen goes black, Remember to release stylus first then two above buttons later (it is important). If you can see the words "NO AC" at the bottom center, and the words BL (Boot Loader) at the bottom right then it is correct. If you put it back to Cradle "NO AC" will change to "USB".
Happy entering Boot Loader!

Does anyone know how to unlock the iPAQ ROM Folder, as I discovered it has some interesting settings inside but whenever I changed them, they recovered back to the previous settings after a Soft Reset.
You can also see here the BINFS Folder (I think it is really an original ROM and it does not allow to delete or even copy/read any file in it). Is there any thing we can do with???

thx Vietnam for the entering bootloader tip
I'd like to answer your question but the iPAQ Rom folder doesn't show up with me. How did you get this? Editting the registry?
thx in advance

BTW, does entering the bootloader Hard reset the ipaq?

Yes

gr8, so a little backup wouldn't be a bad idea
The strange thing is, that the procedure Vietnam mentioned, is different than the Hard reset (which requires to press the power button). That's why i asked.
But, first backup, than i might try )

I have tried many unlocking software for similar devices, and still no luck.
I’m welling to try anything to unlock this iPAQ..
Any suggestion :?: :?: :?:

T-Mobile Locked h6315 ---- Any way to unlock it ??

Are there any real working solution yet ??
Thank you all

I don't think it works that way. I think that every mobile has an unlock code thats not made from the IMEI..
But I could be wrong.

I also have a Ipaq and i am willing to help in any way.

Hi,
it is hard to create an function that generates an algorythm from
IMEI / Unlock codes. It is nearly impossible...
I have a question: have anyone tryed to unlock the iPAQ H6315
with "OLD" method (by USB cable) after putting phone in Boot Mode ???

Define PUK.
This is actually normal behavior for all GSM phones. If you enter the incorrect PIN many times in succession, the SIM card will prevent further attempts and require a Pin Unlock Key. It's a security mechanism that has nothing to do with G1.
log in to your t-mobile account and it should tell you on there somewhere. no need to ring up customer care.
Its been on almost every cell since they have been out. 3 times your locked out.
haha, same happened to me!
T-Mobile has a non-default password for some reason on the new SIM cards being provided. After attempted 1234, 0123, 9876, the phone was locked out and I had to wait 40 minutes for customer service to throw me my damn PUK code.
The PUK code is NOT provided to you via the T-Mobile USA website. Only T-Mobile UK provides you with your PUK. It is some stupid security/law in effect.
As far as I could tell, RC7 had no option to type in a PUK code. If running that, you'll have to put the sim in another phone No idea about other releases though..
I had the same problem, I had to take my SIM and put it into my iPhone to unlock with the PUK I got off the AT&T website. I read somewhere you have to type in a combination of numbers on the dial-pad before it will let you enter it, I don't remember it but I remember most Motorola phones use the same code.
pin for UK is 1210 and PUK is on sim pack and we still get people coming in to my shop with a blocked sim. What can you do..........

thats a bit **** =/
i suppose it makes sense, but only if someone steals your phone, you have a pin code, and the person somehow knows your log in details for the t-mobile site. which is unlikely at best
I know its a old thread, but since its on the google search result, i'll post the solution here:
from emergency dialer type: **05*PUK HERE*NEW PIN*REPEAT NEW PIN#

Activation and unlocking an new verizon Droid 3 in brazil

hello everyone!
that´s the first time ever I´m creating a threat at this forum but that´s not my first time here at all..
I´ve been using XDA since I got my HTC Tytn II back in 2008 hahaha since then i´ve changed phones lots of times, and never got any problem to find the resolution of all my problems at all.
But know for the first time I got myself in a situation where I don´t see anyone having the same kind of problem.
Well , firt of all : I live in brazil and of course we don´t have verizon here.
Two : I got a Droid 3 from Ebay.com today and comes with all the manuals, sim card, instructions card and all the stuff I should need to activate the phone.
I know it´s locked to be used only in verizon, I´m totally ok to buy a unlocking code from the websites, and I don´t intend to use verizon´s sim card over here.
My carrier here is TIM, and that´s the one I´ll be using.
The problem is.. I can´t even get in to the android´s home screen! the phone ask me to do an activation first... where I click the icon "activation" and all I got is an "busy" line signal . there is no place for tapping IMEI unlock code, there is no way of getting in to the system´s configuration to root it , use wi-fi... I mean.. I can´t use the android system functionality at all!
Please someone gimme some light!
I don´t know what to do!
Any help will be valid
When at the first screen tap starting from the top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left. That will bypass the activation
I don´t see a way of doing what you say... Or maybe I didn´t got it..
Ill show what are the options I have

that´s the first screen I have.
If i click the green droid it goes to the second screen :
Where I can now click in BACK or Activate
After clicking the activate it goes here :
and now I can only hear a line signal where nothing happens
Any ideias?
At the welcome to Droid3 screen it is a `hidden` way to bypass it. Just below the status bar left then right, and above select language then above emergency call.
300!!
Try this
go to youtube
and search for
Skipping Motorola Droid Activation --- No Contract Cell Phones
Have fun!
thanks guys! but now...
Well I did by passed the activation screen, but now I´m having troubles to unlock it
By mistake I tried several times to insert my SIM PIN code in a screen believing it was right... when actually think that was the unlocking screen...
There was no numbers saying the attempts I have left , so I tried 3 or 4 times different passwords then I sadly got the "subsidy" locking screen.
That is freaking me out! i´ve reading a lot around here and some other forums ppl saying I can only unlock it with a special verizon code now once I got the subsidy lock....
So I was wondering if maybe I could trust someone here to call verizon from U.S and give my IMEI number...
Of course I´ll check first with the ebay seller if he could do it for me...
What you guys think? any suggestions ?

Try doing a clean installation of MIUI. i.e. Full data wipe using CWM and then installing MIUI.

It is because if I use sim pin security enabled. When the simcard powered on, it will ask for pin and it seem it was handled by more then one service. Sim card turn on in every boot and switch from airplane mode.

huawei U9000-81
when you turn asks for a SIM network unlock PIN (10)
the seller said that the phone is SIM FREE but my sim card does not recognize (the phone from the U.S.) I'm in Russia
please
The one solution I got for this model was from Ebay and it costed about 7-8$ for the U9000.
I have unlocked many phones this way and the price isn't that much (about 2$-3$) but for that model it was about 8$.
Just type the model on ebay "Huawei U9000 unlock code" and you'll find it.

the seller does not respond
and I can not buy the unlock, unlock because the seller says that it is necessary to know the provider is bound to 9000-81
in the profile of the seller says "Independence, KY, United Stats"
may have options to learn? T-mobile? or what else?

Carrier Code/Sales Code, Features or Flop?

I found a Caller/carrier menu code (not sure of real name). I was doing some reading and stumbled across a code that when you type it in your phone keypad as if you're making a phone call it lets you select a different phone carrier and it says something about sales code. I'm with Eastlink Mobility Canada so my code is currently set at (ESK) by the way its an eastern canada cable/Internet/mobile phone provider. The code I enter in my keypad is dialed just like your placing a call. It is exactly this... *#272*356631090050396# now I don't know if this works on all phones in all regions and so on and so forth but I am on the Qualcomm Snapdragon model and running Android 9.0 the latest update. I'm curious as to what this code does exactly and what changing the carrier settings to another carrier might do for me such as unlock Wi-Fi calling or some other cool features that are being held back from my mobile provider. Could anyone shed some light on what changing these menu options could possibly do for me, and do you know if I do decide to Tinker with it, will I be able to use the same code again, and turn back my carrier to its original (ESK). Any help would be great and I apologize if this is the incorrect form for this type of thing but it is a question-and-answer situation so I thought I would put it in this section.
Thanks & cheers!

if you change ure CSC to an other it will reset your phone and should install that said carrier's bloat. technically if you set it to XAC(unbranded) it should not install any carrier bloat. while some carriers offer volte and wificalling, i am not sure if these features will still be there. recent updates seem to point that on xac, volte should stick but wificalling might not be there.

Thanks for the response. That was actually what I was hoping for. It seems most carriers here have Wi-Fi calling and when I go through my system app list it even shows an application called Wi-Fi calling. The only thing is it's not functional or usable or even accessible on my phone right now. I'm hoping somebody has tried it and might be able to tell me more but thanks for letting me know what you knew about it. Have a great night my friend. I'm off to bed

should be in the phone app in the 3 dot menu ootions.
but east link just might not have it. call them or check in their site.
Thanks for the update, looks like I'm out of luck for now. Here's an image of what I see after I hit settings....
So it seems as if I'm out of luck for now. Wi-Fi calling would definitely be handy especially for overseas calling or extreme long distance. The only loss I have at the moment as if I'm calling outside my nation. Wi-Fi calling you would also have to be at home where as using data to make the call would serve the same purpose but it would run out much quicker especially if it's a video call and if it's a long call. I still want Wi-Fi calling now so maybe I will start harassing EastLink and hopefully one person well drive them mad enough to push through the option for me haha. Thanks for letting me know where to check though, have a great day bud.
I tried flashing the xac firmware which is region free but it quickly defaults back to esk on its own the first time I fire up the phone. Esk is EastLink. There must be something that tells it to reset to the current company that the SIM card is from I'm guessing. Thanks for the idea but I tried it and it failed miserably. If you know how to make it stick I'd love to know how you do it.
Try this for WiFi access
Install Activity Launcher. Search for "call" (no s), select Settings, select "com.android.settings.Settings#WifFCallingSettingsActivity", create and save the shortcut to your home screen. The shortcut should open to Wi-Fi Calling menu where you can toggle it on and off.

Question No Simlock, No mobile Data Help please

Hello to all specialists, . I have the following problem with my S21 Ultra 5G (I do not know the provider before) the problem refers to mobile data that I simply do not get activated. I installed a new Rome from Samfw.com via Odin. I tried all providers here in Germany, but nothing was reached except recently at Telekom (T-Mobile). The smartphone does not require a simlock. Is it in the settings?. The card is recognized and WLAN telephony is also possible. At first I thought that it might be blocked, but I bought a unlock code from Handy-Entsperren24.de, I am now sitting on this problem all the time and does not depend on what it could be, I had another ROM before on it, which was compatible with Vodafone and Telekom and Euro. I hope you have a suggestion that this problem is finally helped. I looked on YouTube and in Google I looked for the problem forever, but I found nothing in this regard. Many greetings your Ingo.
Here are some data:
Model Name: Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G SM-G998B/DS
Model code: SM-G998BZKDDBBT
Model Brand: Samsung G998BXXU6EWAF
ESIM Supported: NO
ESN status: clean
Telephone status: officially
If there is a thread that resembles mine, then I ask for the link.
NOBODY HELPS???
Install e.g. Network Cell Info Lite & WiFi and see if you can see the masts.
does calling and all other functions work fine? is it only mobile data that is not connecting?
I also don't get a hotspot/homespot. Only the mobile data does not work, the photo.

Turn off wifi and watch the "data" tab when connecting to the network.
Are you using one sim or two at the same time?
Are the settings in apn on your phone consistent with those of your sim card provider?
Yes, I use my provider's settings. A SIM card no matter 1 or two, the same everywhere. The provider of mine is normal here.
looks like you dont have any signal. im guessing calling is only working on wifi?
have you tried your sim in another phone?
maybe worth just reflashing the firmware, possibly a bad update?

I suspect RIL failure or worse, hardware failure of the radio.
Still try to make a call to the emergency number 112 and immediately disconnect if a call is made.
So I switched off the WLAN telephony, tried emergency call 112 and I didn't get through. It was only "called", but as already mentioned, nothing happened. I really don't know what to do, I also tried 3 different stocks. (Vodafone, Telecom and of course euros). Does anyone have a tip because I think a new Rome may not do anything? Before that, I had already converted the SIM card to an ESIM, but nothing happened, it is always just the mobile data that does not show any function. The card works in my old cell phone Xioami.
Have you just brought the device?
couple of possibilities and resolution
1- Software issue - use odin to reflash the firmware (make sure you use the official or trusted cable)
2 - network blocked device - you'll need to call your operator to check whether this is the case
3 - Hardware issue - get it repaired by samsung

We are not talking about SIM. Calling the emergency number should also work without any SIM in the phone. Since it does not work and you tried to upload other original firmware, the diagnosis is clear: a damaged radio module. Only replacing the motherboard will help, which in fact may be unprofitable.
I now get a call from Samsung for repair. Let's see what that costs. Thanks for the information, if you can think of something else that can still be remembered, I would be happy to receive any answer.
I did so installed trwp I did full wipe. Then I uploaded the system again through Odin and everything works
Before android install 13, imei (null) (imei is empty) no signal.

First, how do you know that the case of the author of the thread is identical to your problem?
Second, don't force the thread author to remove the knox security irrevocably after flashing custom recovery.
So I didn't install any new firmware. And with stack 1, as you can see, there are only bugs.
Do you have any suggestions or do you really think hardware failures are occurring? With the motherboard of the S21 Ultra, costs almost as much as a new one?
