Hello to all specialists, . I have the following problem with my S21 Ultra 5G (I do not know the provider before) the problem refers to mobile data that I simply do not get activated. I installed a new Rome from Samfw.com via Odin. I tried all providers here in Germany, but nothing was reached except recently at Telekom (T-Mobile). The smartphone does not require a simlock. Is it in the settings?. The card is recognized and WLAN telephony is also possible. At first I thought that it might be blocked, but I bought a unlock code from Handy-Entsperren24.de, I am now sitting on this problem all the time and does not depend on what it could be, I had another ROM before on it, which was compatible with Vodafone and Telekom and Euro. I hope you have a suggestion that this problem is finally helped. I looked on YouTube and in Google I looked for the problem forever, but I found nothing in this regard. Many greetings your Ingo.
Here are some data:
Model Name: Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G SM-G998B/DS
Model code: SM-G998BZKDDBBT
Model Brand: Samsung G998BXXU6EWAF
ESIM Supported: NO
ESN status: clean
Telephone status: officially
If there is a thread that resembles mine, then I ask for the link.
NOBODY HELPS???
Install e.g. Network Cell Info Lite & WiFi and see if you can see the masts.
does calling and all other functions work fine? is it only mobile data that is not connecting?
I also don't get a hotspot/homespot. Only the mobile data does not work, the photo.

Turn off wifi and watch the "data" tab when connecting to the network.
Are you using one sim or two at the same time?
Are the settings in apn on your phone consistent with those of your sim card provider?
Yes, I use my provider's settings. A SIM card no matter 1 or two, the same everywhere. The provider of mine is normal here.
looks like you dont have any signal. im guessing calling is only working on wifi?
have you tried your sim in another phone?
maybe worth just reflashing the firmware, possibly a bad update?

I suspect RIL failure or worse, hardware failure of the radio.
Still try to make a call to the emergency number 112 and immediately disconnect if a call is made.
So I switched off the WLAN telephony, tried emergency call 112 and I didn't get through. It was only "called", but as already mentioned, nothing happened. I really don't know what to do, I also tried 3 different stocks. (Vodafone, Telecom and of course euros). Does anyone have a tip because I think a new Rome may not do anything? Before that, I had already converted the SIM card to an ESIM, but nothing happened, it is always just the mobile data that does not show any function. The card works in my old cell phone Xioami.
Have you just brought the device?
couple of possibilities and resolution
1- Software issue - use odin to reflash the firmware (make sure you use the official or trusted cable)
2 - network blocked device - you'll need to call your operator to check whether this is the case
3 - Hardware issue - get it repaired by samsung

We are not talking about SIM. Calling the emergency number should also work without any SIM in the phone. Since it does not work and you tried to upload other original firmware, the diagnosis is clear: a damaged radio module. Only replacing the motherboard will help, which in fact may be unprofitable.
I now get a call from Samsung for repair. Let's see what that costs. Thanks for the information, if you can think of something else that can still be remembered, I would be happy to receive any answer.
I did so installed trwp I did full wipe. Then I uploaded the system again through Odin and everything works
Before android install 13, imei (null) (imei is empty) no signal.

First, how do you know that the case of the author of the thread is identical to your problem?
Second, don't force the thread author to remove the knox security irrevocably after flashing custom recovery.
So I didn't install any new firmware. And with stack 1, as you can see, there are only bugs.
Do you have any suggestions or do you really think hardware failures are occurring? With the motherboard of the S21 Ultra, costs almost as much as a new one?

There can be many causes and locations of damage.
Without physical access to the phone and knowledge of operation and diagnostics, it is impossible to know if repair is possible and what the cost will be.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Teardown
What’s better than a Max? Depends who you ask,...
www.ifixit.com
So can I do nothing more from here?
You just have to be careful, as already explained on the website (Teardown), the back cover is difficult to solve. And do you also have to expand a chip? A question on the side? Can you just expand the memory chip? From 128GB to 256GB? Or even higher? Only purely out of interest.

I've been using CyanogenMod 10 on my Galaxy S i9000 for quite some time, and accepting the offered updates as they come in notifications. I used to use the experimentals and nightlies, but since the stable releases, I have only accepted them. But since the last two updates over the past two weeks, my phone now has the problem with being unable to save APNs and giving a message of No SIM Card. I understand these are related issues and was suggested to try APN Manager Pro to insert the APN data, but it won't even run, so I took the refund. SIM cards are ruled out as it gives the same message with 3 different SIMs that work in other phones.
I was advised to check for a good contact with the SIM card, and that checks out. CM advised checking to see if my radio file needed updating. When I first converted to CM, it took me a really long time to find a baseband that would work with this phone. So I have remained on this TUBJP9 for the couple of years that I have been running this phone on CM. GetRIL said I have RIL XXJVT, which I understand is the stock RIL for CM10.1. It suggested I match the modem, so I just now installed the XXJVT modem to match the RIL.
Since the phone won't work with 3 different SIM cards that work in other phones, it has been suggested that I simply have a hardware failure. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Inserting Sim card in the wrong direction and Sim card holder getting damaged (contact pins twisted or broken) are quite common in Mobile phones, you need to eliminate them first.
since this happen on updates of a sudden (as you indicate) , its unlikely sim card changed direction or sim contact broke. I hope so, but no harm checking
so the easiest way to eliminate the problem is to downgrade it to Gingerbread Stock ROM and check if this problem is still there, if it is than likely you have a hardware problem . you can try this or switch it with JVT gingerbread ROM with re-partitioning
or if you had an earlier gingerbread nandroid backup, try restore.

I got your problem too..i've flashed few times my stock rom. Try to remove the sim before using odin and add it later.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
I was reluctant to go back to stock, but thought I had better in order to eliminate variables. Unfortunately this resulted in an Odin flash failure even though I included the pit file to account for the differences in partition layouts. So I was forced to go back to CM and accept that I have a Jelly Bean media player, or wifi phone at best. Having set it aside for a while, I was cleaning house and found an old out of service SIM. When I tried that, I no longer got the No SIM Card error. This was really irritating because my good T-mobile SIM also did not work in this phone, and when I took it in to the customer care center, they wouldn't listen to me about the possibility that a marginal SIM will work in some phones and not in others She simply took my SIM and said, look, it works in my phone and sent me out the door. Also I thought I had tested 3 good SIMs in this phone, but one of the SIMs I thought was good actually doesn't work in my other phone either. Still, out of 3 SIMs that work in other phones, only the one I just recently found works. I've heard of this kind of problem before. I just wish the customer care center would have humored me and let me try a replacement SIM. Then I wouldn't be out the $175 I spent for a replacement phone.
I found a Caller/carrier menu code (not sure of real name). I was doing some reading and stumbled across a code that when you type it in your phone keypad as if you're making a phone call it lets you select a different phone carrier and it says something about sales code. I'm with Eastlink Mobility Canada so my code is currently set at (ESK) by the way its an eastern canada cable/Internet/mobile phone provider. The code I enter in my keypad is dialed just like your placing a call. It is exactly this... *#272*356631090050396# now I don't know if this works on all phones in all regions and so on and so forth but I am on the Qualcomm Snapdragon model and running Android 9.0 the latest update. I'm curious as to what this code does exactly and what changing the carrier settings to another carrier might do for me such as unlock Wi-Fi calling or some other cool features that are being held back from my mobile provider. Could anyone shed some light on what changing these menu options could possibly do for me, and do you know if I do decide to Tinker with it, will I be able to use the same code again, and turn back my carrier to its original (ESK). Any help would be great and I apologize if this is the incorrect form for this type of thing but it is a question-and-answer situation so I thought I would put it in this section.
Thanks & cheers!

if you change ure CSC to an other it will reset your phone and should install that said carrier's bloat. technically if you set it to XAC(unbranded) it should not install any carrier bloat. while some carriers offer volte and wificalling, i am not sure if these features will still be there. recent updates seem to point that on xac, volte should stick but wificalling might not be there.

Thanks for the response. That was actually what I was hoping for. It seems most carriers here have Wi-Fi calling and when I go through my system app list it even shows an application called Wi-Fi calling. The only thing is it's not functional or usable or even accessible on my phone right now. I'm hoping somebody has tried it and might be able to tell me more but thanks for letting me know what you knew about it. Have a great night my friend. I'm off to bed

should be in the phone app in the 3 dot menu ootions.
but east link just might not have it. call them or check in their site.
Thanks for the update, looks like I'm out of luck for now. Here's an image of what I see after I hit settings....
So it seems as if I'm out of luck for now. Wi-Fi calling would definitely be handy especially for overseas calling or extreme long distance. The only loss I have at the moment as if I'm calling outside my nation. Wi-Fi calling you would also have to be at home where as using data to make the call would serve the same purpose but it would run out much quicker especially if it's a video call and if it's a long call. I still want Wi-Fi calling now so maybe I will start harassing EastLink and hopefully one person well drive them mad enough to push through the option for me haha. Thanks for letting me know where to check though, have a great day bud.
I tried flashing the xac firmware which is region free but it quickly defaults back to esk on its own the first time I fire up the phone. Esk is EastLink. There must be something that tells it to reset to the current company that the SIM card is from I'm guessing. Thanks for the idea but I tried it and it failed miserably. If you know how to make it stick I'd love to know how you do it.
Try this for WiFi access
Install Activity Launcher. Search for "call" (no s), select Settings, select "com.android.settings.Settings#WifFCallingSettingsActivity", create and save the shortcut to your home screen. The shortcut should open to Wi-Fi Calling menu where you can toggle it on and off.
Hi All,
First off all a thank you in advance for any assistance given.
I purchased my beloved phone from DX.com, it came down from Singapore so i knew a gamble was being taken. I received my phone a couple of weeks later, and i couldnt get 4G. Everything else worked fine.
What i've done so far:
I have checked every setting under the sun to see if could enable 4G, every setting ive come across seem to be ok.
I have contacted my network provider and everything is fine on their end, (the sim was working fine on my previous phone)
I have check my fingerprint and phone details to check if everything is compatible, and i also updated my WW version to the latest. - see details here

Going from your user name, you live in UK? Depends what network you're on, this phone has no band 20. Which is fine if you're on ee, but other networks use band 20 for 4g... Google which network bands your provider use

My tuppenceworth, I'm on 3uk, and have no issues with 4g. I bought my rog2 direct from ASUS.
I have noticed some slight oddities between the sim slots though. Ie, my pin protected sim doesn't prompt me for the pin in tray 1. It just doesn't work. When I put it in tray 2, all works as it should. Have you tried swapping to tray 2? Failing that, you might just need a new sim?
EDIT. Just noticed you have tencent hardware, so all this advice may well be irrelevant.
I bought my from Asus, sure it had 4g to start with. Did an update and now it doesn't work.
I'm on vodafone in the UK
Update - 4g works at home. Weird as 4g was always ok on other phones at work. Must be a weaker pick up on this phone?
Odd at work, if I have phone set to 2g/3g/4g it sits on EDGE. If I put it on 2g/3g I get H+
You'd think the first would sit on H+
Annoying having to change the setting
i feel this phone 4g very week compare to my old pocophone....
Too many WiFi antennas and not enough 4g antenna? Guess it won't ever be a software fix?
Phones great, just super annoying at work I can't get 4g inside.
Go out the door and it's 4g no problem.
Everyone's iPhones, Samsung's etc.... All get 4g, just not me
Hi everyone,
I came across a very perculiar problem for which I am hoping you all might have a solution other than try a factory reset (this is time very consuming) or rooting (I don't want to root).
I recently changed provider. I live in The Netherlands and moved from Vodafone to Simyo (a KPN company). I used the option to retain my mobile number but I got a brand new (nano) sim card from Simyo.
Now first of all, the service of my new provider is working fine, I can call, have 4G internet and the app recogizes my usage so no complaints there.
I have an unlocked phone, purchased straight from the Samsung website, my Vodafone subscription was prepaid, my current Simyo subscription is sim only.
So what I found is that when I go in to connection settings, there is an entry in the menu displaying service provider. This entry still lists my old provider and when I click on it, it recommends me to install the app of my old provider.
What I've tried so far: turning off phone, taking out sim card, waiting 10 minutes, turn on phone, then the service provider section is gone, then turn off phone, put back the Simyo sim card, wait 10 minutes, turn on phone. ---> After a short while the section service provider apears in the menu again and displays Vodafone. I also tried manually selecting my new provider from the scanned list but this did not change anything either.
Now the above makes me think that this service provider might be linked to the phone number itself, however I can't rule out it somehow stored this somewhere and just reads it from backup.
Anyway, I don't want to go do a factory reset. Setting all my authenticators, bank apps, government apps, etc is such a chore .
Below some screenshots to clarify what I am talking about:

Thanks for your help and time!
Could it be that Simyo roams on Vodafone? If not (mine shows "Partner" when roaming) then try putting the phone in airplane mode for a while, see if that helps.
You won't be able to force a provider from the list, in my experience at least where I live that has never worked in the last 10 years. Leave it auto.
Everything else failing, call Simyo to check the subscriber provisioning.
Just a wild thought: Would clearing cache and storage from "Carrier Services" help?
It's a benign experiment so you could try it and see if it makes a difference... Put phone in Airplane mode first, then find Carrier Services under Settings>Apps and then Force Stop, then under Storage, clear Cache and then clear Data.
I don't have any solid scientific basis for recommending this, but since Google recommends the same to fix broken RCS due to carrier issues, I thought you just might have a little luck trying it out. Nothing to lose.

Hi Ipse and Enigmaamit,
Thank you for your suggestions.
First regarding the roaming, I am fairly certain this is not the case. The network it selects is the KPN one and is shows Simyo as provider. I also disabled roaming to try it out. KPN used to be the Dutch state network and inherited that infrastructure. If anything Vodafone probably uses some of the KPN network structure. I also live in one of the bigger cities in a low building area so I expect the coverage is not an issue.
As for the cache clearing, I forgot to mention that I went in to recovery mode and cleared my android cache. I also tried clearing the carrier services but that cache is already 0 and it also indicated its not my default program. I did clear all data but to no effect.
I fear what happened is that as soon as I inserted the vodafone prepaid sim it somehow aquired some piece of software from the network and installed this on my phone. I am wondering still if it is possible that this software is number bound and if android has some option to look up what provider uses that number and then suggests the software of that number.
The helpdesk of Simyo is also not able to provide an explanation.
Its OK for me, I don't mind it showing Vodafone in some obsucre part of the menu structure but I am curious if there is a solution and what is causing this
If you suspect a Vodafone app that triggers this, you can try to "guess" it in adb and uninstall it. That's however a very long shot in a very dark night
You might get lucky and it has Vodafone in the app name.
I just updated my G8 AT&T unlocked phone from A10 to A12 today. Initially, I was excited when AT&T pushed the updates. Later on, I found that I cannot make/receive calls (text and data are still working). Then I dialed *#*#4636#*#* and found that the volte is not provisioned. But in A10, it was provisioned. So frustrated now...

Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Thanks!
UPDATES:
I finally solved the problem by cross flashing my LG G8 to US OPEN firmware. Now with H2O, or RP GSMT/GSMA, everything works perfect so far. I believe ATT intentionally disables volte, making the phone virtually 'locked' to ATT only sim card (I have tried FreedomPop, redpocket GSMA and GSMT, Boost, H2O sim cards, none of them worked before flashing).
I currently have the same issue and you are the only person I can find asking about it. So have you had any luck?

Changing the sim card could be a solution. I have tried sim cards from several mvnos, seems that only the ATT prepaid card works. Others reported the Boost sim card also works.
Hmm. So, I should definitely hold off on upgrading to Android 12? Because everything is working perfectly with Android 11 right now. Have you tried US Mobile?

But if your sim card works with Android 11, it may work with Android 12. Anyway, I just found It worked perfectly with my H2O sim card on Android 10, not working on android 12. I tried H2O, red pocket, tracfone, att, mint.

Have you tried US Mobile? That's what I have but I am afraid to upgrade to Android 12 when it comes out. I am hearing things like people are unable to make or receive calls. Or the Wi-Fi Calling feature is greyed out. I don't want to risk it.

OK---I just did the update. No WiFi calling & no calling period..... I had an ATT sim card laying around--put it in & ---you guessed it....WiFi calling came up--couldn't try a call (no network available--old sim)--but I tried my sim (Consumer Cellular--ATT reseller) & NOTHING. I'm looking for a 10 image so I can roll the phone back.....
The Consumer Cellular sim worked with 10...no WiFi calling with 11 & nothing with 12.

I believe this site has what you're looking for: https://lg-firmwares.com/
Now I am definitely not going to upgrade.

Yes---I have that one bookmarked......no ATT ROMs, but you can get the US_OPEN ROMs...If I don't resolve this in a week or so, I'm going to cross-flash to 20H using the no root guide...It works pretty well. I'm on my backup G7 now, so I have time to experiment.
You wouldn't want to image your phone & post it---would you?

Are you saying that WiFi Calling works for US_OPEN? As I understand it--that is a Verizon ROM?

I have the LG G8 ThinQ G820TM (T-Mobile Unlocked) running Android 11. Is this compatible with yours?

Wifi-calling depends also on sim cards, my RP GSMT and ATT sim cards have wifi-calling enabled, but not H2O's.
The rom is: G820QM30c_00_NAO_US_OP_0103.kdz

Well---I was hoping for an ATT Image....The T-Mo0bile will work, but I would have to cross-flash it anyway....THANK YOU. I'll most likely use the cross-flash guide posted here---it works very well.

I know that my sim was using WiFi Calling with 10---so I'm going to either do a downgrade with an ATT image if I can find one or cross flash to either T-Mo or Verizon ROM.

So, how does someone extract the image from their phone? I had a LG G3, G4, and G6 a few years ago. And I put TWRP on all three. I know that with TWRP I can backup the image but I'm kinda scared to put it on my G8 because it could cause all kinds of problems. Wouldn't I have to unlock the bootloader and erase everything off my phone?
Big big issues in Android 12 with reception and connectivity, please refer to my other topics, they REMOVED THE CARRIER AGGREGATION TOGGLE completely rendering the phone utterly slow on networks outside of Korea for my N version and the same can be said for others.
It's really sad and trust me, i've been trying for a solution.
For more info refer to my topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-kt-please-help-me-lol.4506203/#post-87580253
And this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...s-opid-mismatched-error.4345963/post-87590409
The issue is in that the devs just took out so much code I think when it comes to the snapdragon modem, it's really dumb.
There needs to be a solution, I want to email LG but yeah... they are dead... maybe there are like 3 devs still there doing some work but realistically they don't care, they're probably just like : just buy a p7 or 14 pro man...
FRUSTRATING!
This phone would be so much better if I could get CA to work ffs..

Well--if you look at the cross-flash thread....you can just pull the information from the partitions without erasing them---you get to copy them as they are at the time you do it (I found you need to rename the files--the software used creates rather cryptic file names).....I have looked at & used this method--it works, but you need to be VERY CAREFUL during this or you could do real damage to the phone. I pulled all the partition information from another phone--deleted the information that prevents a cross-flash & installed a different ROM on the phone...so I can say that it works VERY well--I even restored one partition from the old ROM to maintain the serial# of the phone.

What partition do you need to restore from the old ROM to maintain the serial number? I had issues last time I tried cross flashing, and I think I missed this step.

The info is in the thread--I don't remember right now....
Hello, I never used WiFi calls and VOLTE never worked on this phone. In july, I both updated to A12 and switched to a new carrier. problem is phone calls have poor quality voice as there is no VoLTE and 4G/LTE bandwith is terrible since I switched. I wanted to follow your instructions and go to the enginnering menu BUT dialing *#*#4636#*#* just makes the number disappear and nothing happens.. Do you have any clue of how to access it ?
Also, I went to *#546368#*820# --> SVC Menu --> VoWiFi --> switched Wi-Fi Calling Toggle form 0 to but.... nothing changed. Not options int the 3dots phone options and no new shortcut to add in the slide menu. Do you have any clue ?
I just found that you can change the "VoLTE quality" in the " dots phone menu section with "automatic/suppress/blur" options. I will try suppress to see if it's better.
