I'm in the process of ROM upgrading on another compuer... it's been stuck at the "Checking the information on your device... Please wait..." etc for about 15 mins now.... is this normal?? What should I do????
The Whole thing too me less than 30 mins, the check less than 2.
I would resart everthing
Thanks, I just did and it's upgrading now... But since I removed the extended ROM from this upgrade, hopefully I will still have my old extended ROM after it's done

does anyone know why this happens?
has anyone found a workaround?
i think this rom work well... i using about one week
most modern roms take 10-15 mins to pass from 98% to 100%...so wait...and wait...and wait...
Ditto
You gots to wait!
i should still wait 15 minutes after the computer says 100%
it has been 15 minutes and still at 99% how much longer
the update utility says congratulation! wtf
20 minutes and i am almost ready to flashback?
whats the problem? what roms haved you tried updating from i,ve tried
2.26 2.3 and 3.2 rc1?
both in the computer and the wizard it stay at the same number, if the computer finished be4 then there is a problem...
Whats your IPL/SPL version number?
had the same problem,
and wasn't patient :$
now i get stuck in the boatloader :s
another upgrade isn't a go since i itz not connected
to active sync?
is there a way out :s
haha, you don't have to be connected to activesync.
Just boot it in boot loader mode and plug it in. You can flash like that.
That's actually how I do all my flashes.
I am just on bootloader ...
itz stuck there :s
any reponse
i would like to try flashing again any ideas because it didn't work the first five times.
Me too
I have a G3 T-Mobile wizard (no .001), and it stuck at 99% with the PC version saying finished. I waited 25 minutes, gave up (there is a battery issue!) and reflashed with Molski's 2.26.
how can u flash it again?
I am in bootloader and stuck there no updates work nothing :s

If you have .0001 then you have a G4 Wizard and NOT a G3 Wizard.
Molski
no no

Yes, but I have "no .001", which should have been "no .0001".
Is your rom the same as T-Mobile 2.26 if I don't install the extended rom? (I install my own extended rom manually.)
Kartboy: As goldrush98 said, you don't have to be connected to activesync. If you see "usb" on the tri-color bootloader screen, just start the rom flash program and it will flash the new ROM. Worked for me.
please stick to topic
the topic is ell AKU 3.2 rom 99% crash not ell AKU 3.2 rom ipl/spl
i do not think the crash has to do with ipl b/c i know i have a G3
where is the developers response
Same issue here.
I have the same problem here. Mine gets to 99% on the phone and the computer says it's done. I've waited over an hour for the phone to finish.
I tried to update my 8125 from 1.08 to 2.25 using the HTC official release last night and now I'm stuck at the bootloader screen with the rainbows on it. The update got stuck at 56% for a good 20 minutes before I decided that maybe it wasn't gonna move at all. So I disconnected it and now I'm getting errors at 56% every time I try to run the update. Can some one please show me which file I need to download and how to create an SD bootup media? I've read the other threads but I still don't understand what files are needed and how to initiate the booting from the SD card. Thanks in advance.
I was able to upload a ROM to the phone and now it works. However, I still can't update all ROMs. The only two I've been successful to get to work are version 2.08 and the Shogun ROMs. Every time I try to put in the official HTC ROMs I get a recovery error. Tried this on different computers and different downloads. Any help would be appreciated.
Anyone please help!..
i tried to upgrade my G3 Wizard to Crossbow Underground and it stuck at 96%!..
What should i do? please help.
Yes -- the install will "hang" at 96% for 2 - 3 minutes. But then, it will complete the process pretty quickly.
My advice for ANYONE flashing ANY ROM is to leave the room for about 15 minutes while it's upgrading. Those 10 minutes can seem like an eternity -- especially the 2 - 3 minutes where the install process appears to "hang". DO NOT disconnect the device during the update.
so? this is normal huh? even thought im not CID Unlocked? becouse i didnt check whether my wizard is unlock or lock..
im still stuck 96% for 30mins.. what took this so long?
Ok its done..
but men!.. its still WM5.. now i know that my wizard is CID locked..
Thanks!

I'd say you have a LOT of reading to do to answer that question. . .
Start with the Wiki and the Stickys at the top of this forum. . . both are chock full of useful information -- yours for the taking
Got my Trinity in the mail today and started the process of pimping it up to xda-developers' standards.
1. Ran SSPL-TRIN.exe without problems from "HTC Trinity SIM & CID Unlock - v1")
2. Ran ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Dialog on PC said upgrade was successful, but screen was black on device
3. Soft reset device. Windows Mobile (green screen) shows, but never goes away. Repeated this procedure 3 times (waited over 5 min each time)
4. Hard reset device. HTC logo shows with numbers "M 05, B 05, D 1.16" showing for 5 seconds. The text "No GSM" appears for 1 second and disappears with the numbers. Only the HTC logo on white is on the screen, forever.
Any ideas? Would hate to have bricked my phone after only a couple of hours.
I can get into the three color screen. I attempted to run ROMUpdateUtility, as I wrote before, again, but I get an error message on the PC saying that the ROM is corrupted, after which my device resets. (To HTC screen, forever, like I wrote above)
Sounds like a bricked device already.
There is a lot of information on this problem in the Hermes Wiki and forum. You may find some useful information there to help unbrick.
Sorry mate.
S.K.
Is there a way I can obtain a rom that will be accepted by my bootloader? I checked on the FTP, but there's nothing there (anymore?)
If so, perhaps I could flash over to a standard one, then start over.

Check the Wiki, you will find links to some standard ROMs.

Chek here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Trinity_Upgrades
Will try them all now. Results with all roms thus far have been:
Progress bar on both PC and phone moves to 1%, then:
a) Phone reboots & PC displays error "invalid vender ID" or b) Phone reboots & PC displays error about image being corrupt
Good news!
I went to a HTC service center where I live (Oslo, Norway). They said they could fix it in 15 min. (flash the device with an original ROM using more advanced equipment than a USB cable)
After about 10 min. the guy comes back with the phone, which now has the exact same screen I was stuck on and concludes that the motherboard is broken. I told them how I had only owned the phone for a day and they offered to replace the motherboard for free (took a few hours).
Once I got back home with the repaired phone, I was pretty nervous about flashing it again, but everything went perfectly.
Congrats friend... let me tell you that you got balls to re-flash your new device after the repair .

Can you tell us exactly what ROM you used to update and is your Trinity HTC made ?
Always flash from the SD card!

Actually, I'd suggest adding to the Wiki that any flash should always be done directly from the SD card (as per instructions in the wiki) to avoid PC/USB problems. After bricking my Hermes because of a USB comm problem, I always flash from the card directly. Much faster and safer.

I'm trying to flash just released ROM for Tilt 2 (http://www.htc.com/us/support/tilt-2-att/downloads/) from ATT. It freezes and reboots itself around 6% down. How this can be fixed? I have HardSPL on.
I just flashed it last night with no problems. I'm not sure but I think it is just restarting the device to send it to the bootloader screen and then it will finish flashing the ROM. Mine did it at 7%. Is it completely stopping? You might give it a few minutes to resume. I did notice that it took a long time to flash (probably all the bloatware they cram in the ROM).
FYI, you don't need a HardSPL since you are flashing an AT&T ROM on an AT&T phone. But, it shouldn't matter either way.

Oh. I thought reboot at 7% was unexpected since previous ROM flashes would never reboot in the middle of upload. I'll give it another try and assume first reboot is expected. Thanks.
yeah, the official rom always stuck at around 7% as I think it was doing some sort of formating of the memory (like task29). Then it will reboot and continue to flash it afterwards, so give it a bit time.
also to be safe, it's good idea to reboot your pc before you flash.
Nah, not task29, but first it flashes SPL_Signed.nbh containing SPL and Radio, reboots into new bootloader and flashes now RUU_Signed.nbh containing everything .
