Broken Bluetooth? - Possible - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I upgraded my PDA2K to Siemens Rom 1.33.51 and everything was great. Using Radio version 1.08. Had all the bluetooth upgrades in place. Installed Pocket Zen 5.2 and switched the Bluetooth mode to Widcomm stack. I then lost my bluetooth connectivity to my headset (Motorola HS820). It would not reconnect. I unpaired it, and could not get it to repair. I tried changing the radio version to 1.10, and could not get it to pair. I reinstalled my original imate 1.22 ROM with all the orginal files and still nothing. I even tried my Sony HBH 65 with no success. Is it possible I have done something to the bluetooth stack which is not fixable?

similar problems
I have similar problems - my HBH 300 is just not connecting...
have downgraded from radio v10 and BT 3900 and still no chance
cheers JJ

Well, whats on your ext rom??
Just hard reset, then when it says that it's going to install stuff from extrom just soft reset and try to pair it that way... If it works, your extrom has something that's fiddling with BT

Imate Rom BT Stack version

I am struggling to use my SonyEricsson HBH 35 Headset with my Tmobile MDAIII. But after a while the BT Stack stops working and I have to turn BT on and off to be able to use the headset again. Tmobile Service Line told me that they are aware of the problem and they will post a fix for that but no time frame was giving. Therefore I was wondering whether the latest Imate PDA2k Rom was having the same BT problems. Which version of BT stack is on this rom? Is it possible to copy the necessary files onto the MDA III and make it work with the never version?
PDA2K has the same issues with the BT Stack. In fcat it is just awful.

Hell, its worse than 'just awful'....
...The Bluetooth on the PDA2K is just downright unusable.....
...I am still holding my breath, praying to GOD they get a real fix out and not just a 'here ya go' patch with more problems in it......
BT version... MDA III new ROM
I would like to know which version of the BT you guys have = which is most current for MDA III. To verify this go to settings/connection/bluetooth an check in About .
I have heard some news that ROM 1.20 is being tested internally, and somebody promised me to provide it to me. I am really waiting.. as current one keeps turning on device every minute...
have a hcb-30 bluetooth carkit that worked great with my Qtek 2020, but i cannot seem to get it to work with my qtek 9090....it finds the qtek allright and pairs with it, but cannot connect....my bluetooth version is 1.0.0 build 2200...
hope they get a fix out soon...

You may tried that DON'T PAIR the HBH35, Afterwards, use a Bluetooth connection wizard to add it. This may be OK to add HBH35.
I don't know how those incompetent idiots could release the blueangel with such a obvious bluetooth problem, HOW CAN THEY NOT see it! the error messeges pops up so frequently.
Go for it, version 1.5

I couldnt get 1.5 to work on my pda2k, cant overwrite certain files... how did you do it?
I didn't do it as i don't have a BT headset yet. because of these treads I'm waiting before i get the headset, gps, and keyboard for bluetooth

you don't have it yet and you are telling other people to go for it! i dont think it works for the pda2k
Did you read or post first?????????????????
As you can see Guest and firebird say it worked to some degree for them on the PDA2K (MDAIII). Since I didn't have a BT headset to try myself I thought I would help you by pointing you to someone who had.
Read posts before blasting back.

Subject: BlueTooth manually updated on PDA2k to 1.5.081
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=11729&highlight=widcomm
Since I didn't see in any thread about someone updating their PDA2k to the latest widcomm drivers... Just an FYI, I copied the files from the other thread onto my PDA2k. Seems to be working. Will test further to see if I'm still getting memory issues like before.
NOTE - I used Resco to copy the files over. There were several warnings that I was updating a file in ROM.. but I went ahead and did that anyway...figured I could hard reset the device if need be.
just a warning, the ROM files he was talking about overwriting, cannot be restored by doing a hard reset, it is permanent. if it messes up you will have to re-flash your pda with a new copy of the OS. that's what i had to do since i couldnt get it to work

Updates: Feedback on BT3900, radio 1.06.02, Wlan patch

There are a couple of standalone updates around but not too much information about any improvements or otherwise with the Blue Angel variants. So lets post our results and see if these updates are worth upgrading to. My XDA IIs is running
latest rom 1.31
bt patch 3900
radio 1.06.02
Bt upgrade seems to have made minimal changes, maybe a touch louder but thats all, no other changes noticed
Radio 1.06.02; cant say i notice any changes here as i didnt have any calling problems with ver 1.02. I upgraded cos of a problem with wifi which is still there
Anyone have anything to note about the wlan patch? If there are any other patches i missed please post what they are and what effects it has had
Hi.
I have spent a while looking for the patches. Can you point me in the right direction?
I actually went back to the Dangaard BT stuff...version 3500 and patch. This worked better for me with my Logitech BT Headset.
I upgraded the radio also to 1.06.02...can't really say it made a difference, but hell, it didn't hurt either...
BT Build 3900
Hi.
Upgraded to Build 3900 from 3500, found on the FTP server.
Only dif. is that my SE HBH 300 is now faster do disconect a call when pressing the on/of switch.
I was fooling around alot with my BA the day i installed the Build 3900, and right after installing the patch i tested it without a Soft Reset. I got a perfect connection without any crackling noise and a really good distance.
After a Soft Reset it was back to the old crackling noise and poor distance.
And i just cant recreate the scenario i had that day
Radio, dont know. Dident have any troubbles with the old one.
Wlan patch, wating for others to tell.
I upgraded my radio rom to 1.06.02 and BT Stack 3900 and found the Bluetooth still crackled on my old jabra bt 200.. just bought a BT800 today and it appears to work better even the caller display works.. with the radio stack upgrade i have had quite a lot of problems connecting to known wifi access points even when all the correct details were in. I also could not connect to BTOpenzone when standing under the access point (and yep i do have an account on it) so I re flashed the radio rom back to 1.06.00 and bluetooth 3900 with high quality audio patch and it all back to normal with abit mor BT Stability
Jabra BT800 worked straight out the box with no patch needed and has good loud audio 8) and a range of 10 meters ish still a bit crackly at 5 meters though

So what you are saying is that radio version 1.06.02 interferes with WiFi somehow....that is interesting...
Do you remember what happened with your WiFi strength when you turned of BT, or have you not tried that?
Cheers,
HappyGoat
Hi as far as i am aware so far there has been no real issue with the Bluetooth and wifi interfering with each other or should i say i have not experienced any problems. the i ssue was just around using wifi and its connectivity problems i have had with open and unencrypted access points and encrypted ap,s the radio could see them but not connect. my xda came with 1.06.00 as standard and i was curious to see what the latter radio rom would offer. so as i didnt work for me i decided to go backward on step and all seems weel now. will agree interesting one and after trying a number of different 1.06.02 files as i thought the first was corrupt i just decided to revert back to a known to me working rom.
radio version difference
what is the difference in radio version 1.02 v 1.06?

Bluethooth Upgrading

Hello folks.
I discovered that the BA has BT 1.1 onboard. Now I do have some mobile devices that support BT 1.2. Bluetooth 1.2. seems to work a lot better and doesnt have that much interferance with wifi signals.
Now my questions is what if i try to upgrade my BT Radio? Is it possible to upgrade BT 1.1. to version 1.2? My current BT radio is version 1.15.00 but i dont know if its version 3500 or 3900. I have the latest Helmi'c BA WM5 rom installed.
I read this forum post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=274425
Its all about the BA WM5 Broadcom 1.7.1 Build 3400 Stack. If I install this BA radio is it possible to communicate with BT 1.2 devices?
Greetings Mark
Bluetooth version is a hardware version, not software one, so it can not be upgraded, the 1.15 radio is for the GSM part of the phone, the bluetooth stack is the software that controls the bluetooth hardware, so you may try to change it
Thnx for your help.
The radio stack didnt work and is only working with WM03. Now i have 2 bluetooth icons in my connections menu. Bluetooth is luckly still working!

Obex/ftp service is missing.

Hi,
Ik upgraded my BA to wm5
And i miss the service in bluetooth OBEX
I need this one for my digital pen.
Dos any one now where or how i fix this.
ROM: 5.35.05 WWE
Radio: 1.13.00
Protocol version 1337.42
there is obex protocol but i think you miss the broadcomm BT stack, you can install it separately just search the forums for the cab
Just installed
Broadcomm 3900 and the update.
Now i have 2 BT icon in the today screen.
One icon is active but it is the standard BT driver,
When i push on the BT button (wich heave the obex service) ill get the message:
the bluetooth radio failed to turn ON due to insufficient driver memory You must peform a reset you can turn on the BT radio
tried different BT stack's
Who can help me
well i think that you installed WM2003 BT stack, and you crapped everything , look for helmi_c WM5 broadcomm/widcomm stack, it is in blueangel upgrading forums somewhere

What is the best ROM for the Blue Angel?

Hi!
I've allready tried some ROMs on my BA (xplode wm6.1 and so on), but i have problems with bluetooth. I can't get my BA working with tomtom 6 and my Nokia LD-3W gps mouse. I also have problems sending stuff through bluetooth (for example contacts from my mobile phone). On wm2003 everything works fine. But I don't want the wm2003.
please help me!
try updating your bt stack to latest version. should be able to find it in the ba wiki
I've got the latest BT stack allready...
I had a similar problem with my Haicom BT GPS mouse when set up according to the instructions in the wiki.
Removing the "secure connection" to the mouse my problems with GPS went away.
As I normally don't use BT for anything else I can't comment on other bt problems.
When you install xplode rom install his all fixes cab files it will fix BT wifi contacts and beam
The xplode ROM is the one I love
(failing that I drop back to the o2 distribution 2003 ROM.
