gprs and activesync - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

i can activesync using wifi, i was wondering what the settings are so i can activesync using gprs. anyone have any idea?

I think you can only do it if you have exchange 2003 or SBS 2003. If that is the case you can fill in the specifics of your exchagne server in Activesync on your device and it will sync via internet

WM5 ActiveSync over Wifi

Dear All,
May I know is any way make activesync with wifi connection for BA WM5 and activesync 4.5 and wireless router connection.
Thanks a lot.
Only old version of ActiveSync support Wifi Sync (3.8 as I remember)
From AS version 4.2 wifi sync has been removed by MS for security reasons.

Network management problem with blackberry bis installed

Hi Guys,
I'm using the blackberry bis service to receive and send emails as per company policy but also using activesync via exchange server to sync calender, tasks and contacts.
As such I have blackberry mobile and mobile web data connections.
For this to work I've changed some settings within network management so that both programs that connect automatically to the internet should use mobile web and programs that connect to a private network use mobile web.
This seems to ensure the correct connections are available to activesync?
Everything was working perfectly of a number of days using these settings but now my network management settings seem to reset themselves to use the blackberry mobile connection and activesync can never find the exchange server. I also can't get QuickGPS to work now, just get connection failed error message.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

How to force activesync to use only wifi

Is there some way to force activesync to use the wifi connection only? When wifi isn't connected activesync and, i'm assuming other apps, revert back to 3G or GPRS. My data plan is crap so I'd prefer not to sync at all when I don't have wifi available. I'm using dutty's latest rom, btw.
Google search says: http://www.wifizard.com/tutorialsXP/sync/index.htm
Thats an old article and no longer works for local connections to your computer. When MS released WM5 and the new activesync (which WM5 requires) the feature to sync over WiFi was removed. We were left with with syncing over USB, Bluetooth. If you have an exchange server you can sync to it over WiFi (the only feature you loose is Push Email).
Thanks for the replies. I should clarify my situation though. I sync to an exchange server and an imap server with no problem. But I have it scheduled to sync on a regular basis. So, if wifi isn't available then activesync will automatically use my data connection. I'm looking for a way to have it only use wifi and never the data connection. If wifi isn't available, I don't want to sync.

Click to collapse
Disable your data connections completely

ActiveSync /Exchange over Wifi Not Working?

This is a continual bug that appears across certain roms, currently in the latest Dutty V2 Rom.AS works fine over GPRS, and via USB cable to the internet, BUT IMPOSSIBLE over wifi?
Does anybody else have this issue? I have tried very solution etc, I use mail2web exchange, and only stock roms will sync via wifi with it?
Microsoft has desactivated the wifi connection (for security reason) on after the
4.1 version, and WM6 synchronise with the version 4.5.
so plug the cable
The Bluetooth connexion has been disabled (to a computer), not the wifi one. I have an Exchange 2003 server, I'm able to connect and synchronize with ActiveSync my diamond to this serveur using Wifi (on the same network, never tried using internet, perhaps with Exchange 2007 in a few weeks).
Or perhaps is it synchronization threw internet that is forbidden ?
I dont think thats what we're talking about here...
Phone syncs with exchange via net perfectly when its not connected to pc, however when connected to pc phone can not access net
Assuming internet does work, firewall anywhere?
I had the same problem when I tried to connect to my exchange server the first time. Then I connected via 3G and the normal "set security..." came up, even though I set an unlock code before. Whatever after this first connection with 3G the connection with ActiveSync and USB did work fine.

Sync to Exchange 2003 error

I need some help with my tilt not syncing with company exchange 2003 server OVER THE AIR on 3G. I can sync with my PC via USB, and I can sync with the exchange 2003 server while connected to the company wifi, but I cannot sync with the exchange server while connected to wifi at home. When I try to sync it just says "Waiting on Network", with support code 0x80072EFD. "The server could not be connected". This all started the weekend of March 5, around daylight savings time, a long time to be without the ability to sync. I am only syncing email and contacts, no calendar or tasks and such. I use IE or Skyfire to connect to the internet, both of which work fine.
I have searched xda and tried everything that even looked similiar to my problem with no success.
I have a ATT Tilt and using the HTC ROM:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
ROM version 3.57.502.2 WWE
ROM date 07/17/08
Radio version 1.65.21.18
Protocol version 25.88.40.05H
Thanks for any help or ideas.
