Screwed up upgrading phone, HELP? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I recently upgraded my phone using the latest German T-Mobile version which is in German (duh!). I'm trying to upgrade it to the 1.40 WWE version, but it won't because of a Country ID ERROR. How can I get around this???

This worked for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26799

I tried this approach using the
PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200 ROM update
with the original Tmobile German ROM update
rom_upgrade_mda3_122195
and I got the same error....???

Try this....replace ur BAUpgradeUt.exe by it...
Good luck....
RAGO

It worked!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks

Anytime bro....good to know u have ur device back...
Cheers...

The Dutch division of Qtek just announced that an AKU2 ROM update for both the English and the Dutch variant of the Qtek9100 is due 'soon'.

if true, sounds a good news
does the test rom have that ****ty white battery meter at the top as well? (the one that tells you the battery is full, half full, or empty)
yes the test rom does have the three bar meter, but it also has A2DP, which the official release does not.
it's possible downgrading from this rom to an older one? 'cos i've read that some people had problems with that
now i'm running 1.3.7.5 spanish, and i want to try the newest one but first i want to ensure that it's gonna be possible getting back
bleh. i downgraded from the official imate rom because of that gay battery meter. i wish there was a way to remove it.

Hi Ximenin,
I've tried downgrading without success.I asked several times for help but no reply.I advise you to wait for the official release rom from Qtek or you will mess up your device like i did to mine.
...
juse use awizard 1.3 and you will be able to downgrade/ upgrade to any rom you want
   blackrider you've scared me.... but have you tried version 1.3 like pilpel says?

Ximenin, honestly it is not my intention to scare you,but listen since I upgraded to this new rom my device reboots constantly, freezes and so on.
Maybe pilpel can help describe exactly how to downgrade using version 1.3 cause I've tried it without any luck.I just want to spare you the pain and anger I'm going through now.

I ordered the same phone (MDA Vario) from Netherlands a few days ago, still waiting for it to come.
It seems that what i feared the most happened: t-mobile upgraded Vario ROM to the latest release (>= 2.16 if i'm not wrong) and so it is no more possible to CID-unlock (or SIM-unlock) the device. Damn!!!
I'm italian and i don't speak Dutch so i really need to be able to both SIM and CID unlock my device or it'll be just a brick in my hands!
The only possible solution i can suggest is:
- Check your ROM version to see if it's a recent one (>= 2.x) or an older (1.x). If the latter is your case then do not follow next steps and read again lokiwiz thread and istructions. If, instead, you have a recent release (> 2.x) then read on.
- download an old dutch t-mobile ROM (find it here: ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/Tmobile/MDA_Vario_1060202_103_11210_TMNL_Ship.exe)
PS: if you're using a different model/country then download an old ROM (1.x) from your operator (O2, t-mobile, Orange, etc) in the same original device's language.
- install it (it should not require a CID unlock since it's an official t-mobile dutch release)
- CID (and SIM if you want) unlock your device (lokiwiz should work on an older 1.06 ROM as the one you just installed)
- Install the ROM (even an updated one) that suits you best.
- Last and most important: let us know if you succeded at it!!!
Bye, i really hope this solution works and/or you find a different solution. I think i'll have the same problem very soon!

Several people managed to do it, don't gonna look up the topics for you, but there not so old, so it can be easy to find and otherwise just use search
Or you may find the CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe QTEK ROM installs after which you can use lokiwiz

Thanks for help, this solved all my problems but one:
If i CID unlock and SIM unlock my phone (after installing Custom 1.5 WWE ROM) and then i install latest AKU2 I-mate Italian rom, will the SIM unlock (and CID one too) be preserved? Or will the upgrade set the simlock back on the phone?
Thanks,
Isidoro

Sim-unlock is needed only once as far as I know.
Furthermore I updated my Kjam (simunlock from factory) with the new english rom, then I downgraded to old Italian rom and finally I re-upgraded to Italian new rom without problems. I just do cid-unlock once.
Bye Slump

Changing software from vodafone to cingular --> still ger

Hey folks,
I bought the HTC Wizard (G4) in Germany and thereon is the german vodafone software (2.21.3.1). In order to change it into english I thought I just upgrade the software with summiters.
The upgrade itself runs fine but once it rebooted the OS is still that German Vodafone-SW. I don't know why is that?! Like I said, upgrade runs perfect but it still didn't change...
I tried to CID-unlock with lokwiz, but read afterwards that it won't work with G4.
Can someone please help me? I was searching that forum over and over but didn't find anything that might help.
Thanks in advanca
