unlock italian rom
I have this problem. It is related to the directory that is used for installing unlock and unhide. You should move the whole folder from the directory "Programmi" to "Program files" and run the program from Start.
It will work
In bocca al lupo

Great
Thank you for you help now work fine

DOC Repartitioning tool locking up extended ROM
While trying to prepare my qtek 9090 for WM5 the following is happening:
Unlock tool confirms "extrom unlocked"
when repartitioning with DOC tool I get the error:
FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL_DRIVE failed.
result when checking available storage via Space Detective:
Extended ROM 16mb - used 16mb
Storage 43.3mb - used 43.3mb
both are locked up after this.
after unlock I can manually delete extended ROM via Resco Expl. but formatting the Ext. ROM with DOC tool is not working.
Does anybody have a work around for this? Or has anybody run into the same problem?
Device info current is:
1.40.00 WWE
03/10/05
1.13.00
1337.42
1.40.556 WWE

Error when partitionning
I've got exactly the same issue with my Qtek 9090 with the original ROM

Help on I-Mate Arabic Ext Rom 131112 WWE

Hello I just ungraded to the I mate arabic 1.31 rom with radio 1.06.02. my question is in the extended rom there is no config.txt file? using the instruction under the Cooking in the Extended Rom Kitichen thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16137
I cant seem to find how to edit the config txt file to allow the ZIP_WWW.cab to be installed and the editing config to say the following
Instructions:
Place the ZIP_WWE.CAB in your Extended Rom
in the \Extended_ROM\Config.sys add the following line
Quote:
CAB: \Extended_ROM\ZIP_WWE.CAB
I Would Like to get shot of the arabic stuff
I-Mate PDA2K (PH20B)
Rom 1.31.00 WWE
Radio 1.06.02
Protocol 1337,38
ExtROM 1.31.122 WWE
Ok 2 things,
1 you need the extended rom unlock util which will allow you to see and edit items in the hidden extended rom folder on your pda.
2 dont bother with the ZIP program, get pocket rar, its freeware and works much better. You can install cabs from within rar or zip files without needing to extract them to the file system first etc.
PS: You can copy the config.txt to your pc to edit, or edit with pocket word of similar.

I have unlocked my extended rom and can extract the contents. In the unlocked extended rom there in no config.txt file?.
Would it be possible to just replace the ms_.nbf file that contains the extended rom with another extrom, just like I replaced the Radio file then use the fix.bat
Many thanks
The newer ROMs do not use a config.txt they run a setup.exe program called from a modified version of autorun.exe instead.
You can use the old config.txt file by replacing the autorun.exe from an older rom and creating your own config.txt (you can also then delete the unneeded setup.exe file).

ok so correct me if Im wrong, you unlock your extended rom delete TPEnable.exe, TPDisable and setup then hard reboot. unlock extrom again then replace old for new, new having autorun.exe and config.txt?
Many Thanks
I usually do the upgradein this order:
1) Copy the ext rom unlock tool to PDA - run it and then run unhide + unlock ext rom.
2) Soft reset to unhide ext rom.
3) Make a full backup of current ext rom to PC!
4) Create my own ext rom by adding / removing apps as necessary to ext rom as cab files and modifying config.txt.
5) Hard reset PDA to install new apps and clean copy of Pocket PC.
Note:
As mentioned before, if you do not have a config.txt then you will need to replace autorun.exe with one from a pre v1.31 ext rom, create your own config.txt (Use one from ftp server as a base) and you can delete the setup.exe prog as it will not be used.
I have left the TPEnable and TPDisable on the ext rom but have removed their entries from the config.txt file so that the screen is not disabled.

Thanks Bebbo
Your advice worked. I used config.txt and autorun.exe from extended rom Imate 1.22.162 now I have extrom without arab stuff
Many Thanks

ERROR.123 : RADIO IMAGE FILE CHECKSUM ERROR

Hi everyone :
I am new in here , I saw the other day someone post Dopod CHT rom
ba_dpodcht_12406_110_10600_ship.exe and I am intertesting to change my i-Mate PDA2K to Chinese ROM and I follow up BA Getting Started ,
after I finish what "BA Getting Started" and try to upgrade and got the message " ERROR 123:RADIO IMAGE FILE CHECKSUM ERROR, can some one teach me how to fix this error ?
Thanks
my PDA2K is 1.22.00 wwe 1.22.162 1.06.00
Untill we have a tool that deals with the new file format you cant fix it.
What you can try is an os and Extrom upgrade only (delete the radio file out of your install dir). You might get a checksum error on that as well. This time on the OS or Ext Rom.
If that works then follow the radio upgrade only on wiki to get the 1.06.02.
I delete radio file and try again, and got ERROR 122:EXTEND IMAGE FILE CHECKSUM ERROR.
Well unrill we have a new tool you are out of luck with the cht rom.

Useing XDATools: Getting Error 102 CE Image File Checksum

heya,
i downloaded my actual ROM from my MDA III useing the XDATools to my PC. I named the file to nk.nbf. When I start the BAUpgradeUt.exe then after a short check the following error appears:
ERROR 102: CE IMAGE FILE CHECKSUM ERROR
How can i correct this?
I used the latest TMA GER Update from T-Mobile. I changed some programs in the \Extended ROM\ Folder ... can this error come from this?
Pls help me
XdaTools is a backup utilitty just for HTC Wallaby series i.e O2 Xda, T-Mobile MDA, Siemens SX56... and not for the MDAIII (HTC Blue Angel series). You have to use another tool, mtty I guess
If you dump or flash a ROM to your PC, you can not simply name it *.nbf.
The dumped versions are all *.nba files, and need to be converted (=coded) to *.nbf files to work again with the BaUpgradeUt.exe tool.
Conversion goes via the xda3nbftool or by hand (XOR it).
Also not that your PDA has 3 ROMS...

Radio 1.12

Anyone tested radio 1.12 (radio qtek 1.12.rar) found in the upload folder?
working well on my IIs
how do you install it
I have downloaded nbf file and xda3nbf.exe and now lost..
Please help
You need to get the files:
BaUpgradeUt.exe
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
HTCRUU.dll
HTCRUU.conf
They are normally included in other upgrade ROMs, add to them the radio_.nbf and run BaUpgradeUt.exe to start the upgrade process.

getdevicedate.exe not working on downgraded BA!! HELP PLEASE

I had one of the first versions of WM5 on my blue angel, and decided to go downgrade back to WM2003 beacuse of the lack of applications for WM5 at the time. I now wish to go back to WM5, and cant beacuse devicedata.exe creates devicedata.txt with nothing more than PH20B in it.
I.e I should get something like PH20B 0 B GER R T-MOB101 1.12.00 0 0 1.12.100 1.02.00 02.00
when I only get PH20B.
Can I type this info in manually?
My device info is as follows:
I have a orange m2000 with the iMate 1.40.00 WWE ROM that I think is cooked using radio version 1.13.00 and protocol version 1337.42. ExtRom seems to be blank
I have created PH20B 0 B WWE E ORANG001 1.40.00 2 2 1.12.139 1.13.00 04.00 would this work for my device??
Thanks in advance WWWeed
Anyone Know if I can get away with just reflashing it with the latest ROM as I have patched once when I first upgraded??
Also where are the ExtRom patches located on the FTP? Theres no URLS on the wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_WizardPort_v1.3-TuMa)
I need to find
* ?MidletManager-TuMa.cab - Installs the Java Midlet Manager
* ?ArcsoftMMS-TuMa.cab - Installs the Arcsoft MMS Composer (NOTE: You must create an account)
* HTC Camera-TuMa.cab - Installs the HTC Camera and updates MMS for Camera operation
* HTC Camera-TuMa-?RamDisk.cab - This is an additional .cab file, this can be installed onto the RAMdisk ("Temp Disk")
If I can get this all working, I'll make a nice donation on XDA developers!
There resaon you only see the device name in your txt file is that it has a lot of charters that are no printable and you are only looking at the first few charaters, (Wiki getting started does a better job of explaining that).
You can't copy your created txt file to your device (well you can but it does no good). The file is need in its full form as in with all the rubish (I think but have never provesn it) that the file is created by the upgrade process and that the country code error derives from the check of that file and the header of the rom that you are flashing.
So the short of all that is if you need the latest OFFICAL rom (1.42) then follow the instructions in wiki on flashing it,
If you want the latest WM5 (1.3)rom then .... Follow the instructions in wiki else follow the instructions in wiki.
As for the cab files and the link to the WM5 1.3 rom well there is always wiki...
The cab files are part of the rom which can be found under the link "2 Download the ROM from here" wihch part to of the instructions in the section above your own cut and paste. (thats the also the Link BTW)
Have fun!!
Cheers for your time and patience MDAIIIUser,
Guess it was just me being stupid
Am now on the 1.3v WM5 Cheers!
