We are 3 friends with Qtek 2020i (Fans? ) and we face the same problem. The wifi connection will not be enabled unless i do a soft reset on the Qtek 2020i.

Mine did it too, but after a hard reset, it was fine.
It must have been something that I had installed at some point.
Mine used to do it too but as soon as i upgraded it was fine.
Upgrade to the latest ROM version (if pos)

i have a qtek 9100 flashed with the uk rom 1.6.7.1 from this website and since i did that... i can not turn my wifi on!
have readed almost all topics going about the wifi issues but nothing helps

Having the same problem here with the dutch Qtek rom 1.3.7.10. Cant use WLAN after flashing from vario Rom to the Qtek.
Also have a problem when i try another Rom. It doesnt seems to work anymore when trying to flash. ActiveSync disconnects when trying to flash Rom. (is disconnects when the status bar is showing up)

I know this might seem really stupid, but I've had the exact same problem. Fortunately after hours of trying to solve it, I tried my wifes MDA Pro, which to my delight also couldn't connect via wifi. :lol:
My problem was exactly that. My wifi router needed to be soft-reset or switched off and rebooted!
It solved my problem. It might be the same for you. Incidentally, I am now running the same Qtek 1.6.7.1 ROM from T-mobile Vario ROM as you guys and I assure you it's not the ROM.
Give it a try if you haven't already. Additionally, I find after ROM updates, my wifi won't connect till I set the power slider (wifi settings to Best Performance).

I put the new FW or rom in my 8125 from Cingular, everything works.. got SMS working, got EDGE working, but Wi-fi does not
it sees the AP but will not connect. it says connecting then Unavailable
ideas.. i would like wifi.. really a conveance.

what did you upgrade to? I upgraded to 2.16.9.101 and have had no problems connecting to my WPA protected wifi network.

i bypassed the extended rom.. so there is none
but.. still no working wifi

same problem here, haven't found a fix yet. My router is only 802.11b capable and not 802.11g. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Maybe this new ROM sets the device to G only. Although, using Nico's registry wizard, the G mode isn't selected.
Do you have any kind of encryption active on your wireless router? If so, turn it off and see if you can connect. If you can, I'd suspect a problem in the key.
If you still can't connect even when WEP or WPA is off, then the problem is elsewhere. What kind of router is it?
I was going mad with the same problem.
I'm not 100% sure it appears the issue was related to the MAC address of my unit - as well as WPA I do MAC filtering to weed out unwanted devices
I'm not sure if it was a base-station issue, or if the ROM upgrade changed the MAC address on my K-Jam
double-checked and added the IP from the device and now it's happy as Larry (as I say it may be a total red herring... I may have forgotten to save the router config to Flash and we had a powercut over the weekend...)
if you installed the cingular extended ROM do a hard reset immediately. that's what f's up wifi. i loaded the full extended rom and was NOT able to get wifi to even start. once i hard reset, everything was a-ok

There is NO EXTEDNED rom installed at all.
I bypassed it compleatly.
when it asked me where I was (orange etc..) I did har soft reset and no rom was installed at all.
no cingular rom, no Imate rom, no extend rom other then the OS

I did allow it to run the RUU's extended rom... I don't remember which carrier I chose on the carrier screen. My wifi does work fine on my WPA G network.
ok.. so i am an idiot.. i tried another AP and it worked fine.
so my question is.. (this worked before BTW, before I upgraded to the new ROM)

I just upped the FW to 1.00.10 from 1.00.09.

I appear to have the same problem with my qtek 9100.
Used to connect to my pair of dlink dwl-900ap+ 's fine. Since the rom upgrade it will only connect if I turn off wep! No idea about wpa cause I've never managed to get it to work!

use a registry editor go to "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\obex\" here change the value of Dword "IsEnabled" from 0 to 1. and also turn on beam while transfering.

hv u done a hard reset after upgrade if no, chk the wike and u can not empty(completely remove) your rom. when u upgrade or downgrade ur rom all files get changed but U HV TO DO A HARD RESET. MUSTTTTTT.

I bought a T-Mobile branded Blue Angel used at an electronic swapmeet last month. I thought the unit was in good working order as I tested the voice GSM calling ok. Now I found that the Bluetooth does not work at all. I tried upgrading to WM6 and downgrading back to 2003SE and did many hard reset all along. It'll not find any BT devices, not can be found by others. It shows up as if it is working, in the BT stack, as well as the LED, but no communication at all. I think the chip is dead.
I wonder how I can get this repaired, and how much it would cost me. It's a bummer, otherwise it's working fine.

I have Spanish Vodafone Diamond. I flashed using Unsigned HardSLP, NiAX Buffet 2.0, and Radio Radio 1.00.25.05. Later, I unlocked with the "free method".
If worked fine for me for some weeks, but I give to a friend who is using it now with other company (MoviStar). It worked for some hours but after that the phone couldn't get the network.
I tried first change to other Radio 1.03.25.18 (after Hard Reset), and it worked again only for only few hours. After that, no network again.
I tried also reflash again HardSLP + same ROM + Radio 1.00.25.05 but I can't get network again.
Any idea?

And a whole lot of others hihi.. Anyhow, in my case uploading Radio v1.05.25.BS14 (Quad Band)(Provided by Dutty) (NEW ONE) fixed the issue.. But I didn't get Radio 1.00.25.05 to work...

Hi all! I just got yesterday Mda Vario 3, aka kaiser, and the man who i bought it from told me that wifi need to be setup... Ok. I try wifi, it works, i connected to my router and it worked.

and, as far i know rom flashing, i thought get and flash new rom... i tried wm 6.1 wm 6.5... on some camera didnt work and i get a new radio and it works, BUT wifi doesnt work on any rom with any radio, i changed spl but does not work. i dont know what to do...
