What does the new blackberry rom do? & can i backup my stuff do the rom upgrade then do a restore of the data?
It puts the Blackberry Email push client on and that is all. If your company does not use the Blackberry Push server then there is no point.

Ok Guys if anyone is interested my o2 Mini s is now working perfectly with its original ROM.
i have my email calender contacts, in fact everything in my exchange server mail account syncs wirelessly and faster than blackberry or regular email
ALL YOU NEED IS:
An exchange server mail account preferably Fasthosts (if you do not know them fasthosts.co.uk)
Then you get the goodlink software from fasthosts, or directly if your company will allow( good.com)
download the software onto XDA a few tweaks and a bit of patience actually 12 hours ....
But it is perfect
Ok, so I'm switching back to Symbian and my Nokia E61i. I would love to keep the TyTN II, but the device was just not the right choice for me.
All my contacts, e-mails, calendar/todo's etc. are stored on my Exchange server, so that's a no-brainer - however, I would llike to copy my SMS inbox over to my Symbian device. I've been doing some searching but I cannot seem to find a solution for this.
So basically what I'm looking for is an app that will let me copy the whole SMS inbox and move it over so that I can import it on my E61i.
Thanks!
Make backup to your Outlook using trial version of Jeyo Mobile Extender - http://www.jeyo.com/companion.asp.
I don`t know how to transfer SMS directly to Symbian phone...
Thanks RStein, that worked. So now I have the complete inbox in Outlook, but I suppose I need to export them as .vmg or something like that in order to transfer them to my Symbian device... Any ideas? Thanks!
I think You have now Symbian specific question - try some Symbian forum for probably better answers to Your question.
You can always copy SMS to your SIM using Kaiser.
How many SMS will the Kaiser allow me to mover over to the SIM?
It depends on SIM capacity - my SIM has only 10 slots for SMS messages...
I have been a happy WM user for years. I am on the Kaiser (AT&T Tilt) with WM6. I was using it to get company email all that time. The company I work for was recently acquired and we migrated to their MS exchange system. They also have an Outlook web access site unfortunately to login you needs an RSA Securid token for 2 factor authentication.
I can't get my activesync 4.5 to work as a result (I think).
What can I do at this point? Do I need any special software? I see RSA has WM software. I assume there is something that needs to be done on the exchange server side.
Can anyone provide some guidance?
Since you were prevously syncing with a different exchange server, they have probably created a new profile in outlook to connect to the new exchange server. This is most likely the cause. This happened to me.
My recommendation would be to remove the partnership between your tilt and your desktop, and then establish a new partnership. It should then pick up on your new outlook profile and begin using it and syncing properly.
Just a warning, doing this could possibly create duplicates of your contacts, calendar items, and tasks.

When this happens you can run Anti-dupe(www.anti-dupe.com) on you're desktop, it will remove all the duplicates.
It works for me
What I do when I plan to either hard reset the phone or format my PC I simply do a sync to have all the latest changes synced, delete the partnerships on both the phone and PC. Then after I've done my stuff I create a new partnership, where Activesyncs asks about what to do as there are items on both devices, and I tell it to overwrite anything with what's on the PC. Never had any duplicates or lost entries.
Ok so I searched the forum and the wiki and could not find how to do this. So I have a BB Curve and I am going to transfer to a AT&T Tilt. Now I need my phonebook that is on the device to transfer to the Tilt, and I can not find anyway to do so. Also to add to the problem I will not have the BB after I get the Tilt because I trading the BB for the Tilt and the BB needs to be completely wiped when I go meet the guy to trade. Also my phonebook is not on the SIM and there is no option from me to transfer contacts to the SIM so please HELP!
Do you have windows vista or xp?

VERY EASY
Number 1 you need some version of outlook on your computer
You want to set the desktop manager to sync to outlook
After you verify the contacts are there
Then install microsoft activesync
Activesync will put the contacts in outlook on your tilt
AND VIOLA
Does activesync work with blackberries?
ALSO
If you dont have outlook
You can download Yahoo Go 2.0
To your blackberry
Once you open it
hit the menu button and you should have the option to sync address book
Let it go through its sync process and you should be able to see the count increasing as it goes
Once its finished
Put your sim card in your tilt
and download ppcygonet
And install yahoo go to your tilt
After its installed you gonna do the same thing
except it will see 0 contacts on your tilt and pull them from yahoo and put them on your tilt
The only downside is it will also sync all the email addresses you have in your addressbook on yahoo as well

No activesync only works for Windows Mobile devices
For the blackberry you need Blackberry Desktop Manager
Which is on the BB User Tools CD that came with your device
Or download it from www.blackberry.com
Thanks a lot that worked like a charm. Never thought of it since I don't use outlook often.

When you have tilt, outlook is going to be your best buddy.
Hello,
I love my Nexus. Now I got a blackberry from my work to have instant access to my emails.
Because I don't want to use the Blackberry and to keep my Nexus I need to get the same email function as the Blackberry.
Do you know if this is possible? I am no expert in things like this and it would be great if you can point me into the right direction.
My mobile contract has an internet flat and - I think so - a BB-option. AS Email-Client I am using Outlook.
Thanks for your help.

Your company probably uses a Blackberry Enterprise Server which allows emails to be delivered to the blackberry.
The email environment you use uses Activesync to deliver emails to windows mobile/activesync enabled phones such as Android. The BES and Activesync protocols are not compatible.
You should contact your exchange server administrator to see if activesync is allowed to be used within the company. More often than not, if they gave you a blackberry, activesync is probably disabled.
