The latest Xda IIs System Software
(updated 16:38 18 Oct 05)
New and changed in this version of software, v1.40.237 are:
* O2 Active UI v3.6.024
* Bluetooth build 3900
* Radio build 1.12
* Windows mobile CE version 1.40
* BlackBerry Connect v2.0 for Enterprise Mail (BES)
* Removal of Photo Contacts
Question is , is it any good? i'm using I-mate's latest ROM with UK O2 XDA 2s details in sig, and has many bugs, soft reset after call, cant hear ringtone when being called have to reset, windows media player 10 bugs, texting bugs sometimes uses 3 messages for just 160 characters of text etc..

The WM Player bug is still there. By the way, that deal with 3 msgs for 160 characters is to do with Unicode. Go to Messaging, click on options-accounts-text messages and untick use unicode when necessary. Worked for me when I had my IIs

O2 Asia 1.40 ROM Photo Contacts Problem

I recently upgraded my Xda IIs to 1.40 ROM using official ROM update from seeo2 site. I'm generally satisfied, but I'm having some problems with Photo Contacts.
In previous ROM, Photo Contacts worked perfectly. I see the pic and hear the ringtone I assign to a particular contact. Now, it only plays the default ringtone and no picture is displayed.
At first, I thought O2 Plus (ver 1.7) was the problem due to its sound proflies. I uninstalled it and the problem is still there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Photo Contact Problem Too
I Just upgraded with the newest Asia Rom, 1.40 and have the same problem.
Anyone have any suggestions?
on a slightly unrelated matter can you tell me where I can get 02 Plus as the website refers to going on 02 Connect using PDA - however I don't have 02 Connect.
I have the same problem, even with the latest ver of CallerID (build 19736). But now, my Photo CallerID works fine after install SmartDialling (for Magician). This app will replace files PhotoContacts.dll, DisplayCID.dll in \windows\ directory (You must rename this file before run install CAB file). I think these files may cause problem for Caller ID.

XDA IIs ROM upgrade - June 2005 (english version)

hi guys,
i'm not sure if anyone has posted this but here I go...
has anyone tried using the XDA IIS rom upgrade of June 2005 posted at O2 website? I'm about to try it but I'm afraid to do it since there might be bugs on it.
would like to ask you guys if it's ok to upgrade to this ROM. Currently, my ROM is 1.12.62 WWE. As much as possible, I'm settling for O2 official releases but I just wanna make sure if this one's ok.
cheers!
Currently i'm using the latest update o2 Asia and so far it works really good except a little problem that i found with the camera that makes the brightness set to maximum. And also the HTC caller ID problem [ringtone and picture display doesn't work].
Overall, it runs smoothly.
I hope this helps.
does this mean that currently you don't have caller ID display and ringtone on your IIs?
cheers!
sometimes it's on and sometimes it's off, when it's off i rerun the caller id from the startup directory, or you can install 3rd party software like photo contacts.
Is this ROM ok to load onto a UK XDA IIs? Has anyone done this?
IIs user from Philippines
I flashed my IIs with the new official ROM.
I find it more stable than the old ROM plus other new features like WMPver.10. Well worth the upgrade. I could view videos of websites (eg.INQ7) which under the OLD ROM I cannot.
After the ROM and Radio Update, I uninstalled the O2Plus. I didnt noticed any increase in stability or speed after unistalling it though.
I also updated the Radio ROM to Ver.1.13 which I got from WIKI.xda-developers.com.
BTW, I got my IIs from Globe. I still retain the GPRS setting plus gain a new GPRS setting for my SUN SIM. ALSO, I use a DUAL SIM Adaptor which I bought from 3rd Glorietta Cell Stall. There is also GPRS Setting for SMART just in case you got yours from there.
You could also install the O2 II Plus, GPRS Counter and ZIP Manager from official O2 site. I dont use it as it slows down the IIs. I tried yesterday DKToday2.8 but it slows down a bit the IIs.
Only the following softwares are now installed (IIs is very stable and quick):
PshutXP
CorePlayer
Agile Mobile
Avantgo
ChessPPC
Skype
WordNet (dictionary)
In the Green Theme
Cai, Go ahead you will not go wrong. PM if you need help.
OVERALL, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE UPDATE.
thanks xcalibur! this is great news. I've really needed people's idea on the new rom of O2 before installing it, especially philippine users. I got mine from globe too...i'll try this then....
cheers!
O2 June 2005 version
I loaded the latest O2 Asia version recently. I was, too, apprehensive about bugs and the like. However, I haven't found anything but improvement in my XDA IIs performance up to now. I would recommend it.
I've been using the new O2 ROM since its release and I think it's garbage.
Slightly more rleiable than the previous version but my phone still requires resetting 3 times a day due to hang ups, freezing, crashing when trying to switch to landscape and so on.
If you intend to upgrade the radio to 1.13 then, use asia apparently i have done some testing. Tried o2uk,imate,qtek and once u upgrade the 1.13 for their rom, it causes the device to lag terribly. I would suggest you to do the upgrade to the ASIA version if you are intending to upgrade to 1.13 radio
else, i think any of the rest should be ok..
ASIA 1.40.923 WWE
I concur. The Asia WWE with the 1.13 is working well for me. Still have some problems with bluetooth out of memory and not being able to access BT manager, but over all the best combo I have used. Battery life seems much improved and switching between GPRS and Wi-Fi works very well on this ROM combo. Using in conjunction with phone Alarm (1.13] and AlarmToday. Auto profile switching and wake to music, all working well..
june update ???
am i being a bit thick ???
the only version i can see for download on the O2 uk site is the february update. Can someone supply a link straight to the download ???
swerver
That's the latest official one from O2 UK, but most of the other providers have already released their 1.40 versions, which are all available on the wiki site: www.wiki.xda-developers.com

June Update ???
At the top of this thread it says that the O2 site has the june update, he didnt mention WIKI site ????
Just tried the link you gave and it gave an error ???
swerver
I believe that the first poster is probably taling about the O2 Asia ROM that is on the O2 Asia site. As far as I know, O2 UK have not released their new 1.40 version yet.
The link I posted should have taken you to the companion site to this one, where all the various ROMs and upgrade tools are posted. Are you familiar with the wiki site¿ There is a direct link to it in the header of this thread I believe. Let me know if you have problems finding it.

Chris
hi guys,
i've seen the ROM upgrade from O2 asia site. It's found in www.seeo2.com.

Asian Rom upgrade 1.40 for Xda IIs
I really must be thick, but I cannot find the actual file to download. I am registered at seeo2.com, get to the instructions page on how to install it but somehow miss the actual link to install it! Can anyone help me with the actual download link or another site to download the file
Thanks Guys
Hi Smithy
There is a link at the top of this page to, www.wiki.xda-developers.com
Navigate there and follow the links to Blue Angel. All the shipped ROMS are posted on that site, plus the 1.13 radio, which I do not think is part of the original O2Asia ROM. I believe it only had 1.12
The site also has comprehensibe instructions on how to upgrade. Let us know if you get stuck.

I've recently upgraded my XDA IIs' ROM to the June 2005 version (1.40 something). The note on the O2 website indicates that we can set mp3 ringtones already. Here are my findings:
1) Under Phone in Settings/Personal, it still doesn't have the option of setting mp3s as ringtone, it seems to be looking for .wav files only.
2) The Photo Contacts that came with the phone has the option of choosing mp3s, it can even preview the file, but whenever I try dialling my phone using my friend's, it goes back to default, not just the default I have setup in Settings/Personal/Phone, it uses the Windows Default tone. How come? Can anyone shed some light on this one?
3) Are there any battle tested programs/apps out there which can activate the mp3 ringtones feature the new ROM promised, and that works with XDA IIs? Help! :?
Hi Yaozer
I have not seen where you can set a MP3 as a ringtone... The only files mine sees are .wav, wma and midi. I use phoneAlarm by PocketMax (www.pocketmax.net), which does allow you to set a wake up alarm that activates a MP3 file. The file has to be in main storage I believe. Activating one a a ringtone may be in a forthcoming version.

WM 6.1 (HTC Official ROM) and VOIP .. anyone got it working

I'm trying to get VOIP working on the new HTC 6.1 rom
Having checked it does not have "Internet Calling" options, so I tried the WM6VOIP cab, this broke the phone dialing
Has anyone got VOIP working on HTC's 6.1 rom?
I know there are options like AGEphone, but this does not work for me.
A quick google of this forum shows the VOIP thread over 125 pages, which is a bit too much to read

But does it use the Rear speaker or the Earpiece?
I have VoIP working in my custom WM6.1 ROM (5.2.19212) using the latest VoIP files I could find (dated April & June 2007 - if anyone knows of any newer files I would be happy to test them?). Unfortunately the audio is routed to the rear speaker like it was with my HTC Wizard. It does work though. It would be nice if the audio was routed to the phone earpiece, however I have not heard of any Kaiser ROM that fixes this? I expect this is something HTC would have to provide - an updated hardware driver I expect?
Andy
When I tried to put the VOIP cab files on my standard HTC 6.1 rom, it broke the phone for normal dialing (I kept getting program errrors)

I have never had this and I have re-flashed quite a few times in my attempt to get my ROM exactly as I want it (almost there....).
The files I have included in the ROM are:
dnsapi.dll 5,968 bytes 23 April 2007
voipphonecanvas.dll 134,992 bytes 23 April 2007
rtcdll.dll 1,686,352 bytes 19 June 2007
To get my Kaiser to its current state this is what I did:
Installed a HardSPL1.x
Security unlock with the Radio ROM trick
Installed the HTC Official WM6.1 WWE ROM which installed the newer Radio
Installed HardSPL 3.56
Finally I dumped the Official ROM and re-cooked with my preferred apps & settings - one of these being VoIP.

SMS - touchflow/MS Mob issue

ROM Version - 1.93.831.1 WWE
ROM Date 30/07/08 - By the Diamond Project Team
I seem to have a problem with either touchflow SMS or MS Mobile SMS. All my new SMS's seem to go into the touch flow SMS system but I don’t get a notification on the Today screen. But also I get no SMS's stored in the MS Mobile SMS inbox but unless they are sent directly from the MS Mob screen.
Seems the two functions are not talking to each other somewhere along the line?
I had used the search and not really come up with anything? Anyone any ideas?
Since you're using a non-official ROM shouldn't your post go to the corresponding thread of that ROM?
latest official ROM

htc Touch Pro2 O2 Germany Win 6.5

O2 Germany has just released their Win 6.5 ROM for the htc Touch Pro2.
http://www.o2online.de/nw/support/downloads/software/xda/htctouchpro2/htc-touch-pro2.html
No password or serial number required to download this.
This ROM is later than the T-Mobile German ROM
ROM: 1.89.207.2 (69719)
Radio: 4.49.25.17
Protocol: 61.44tc.25.32H
OS Build: 5.2.21854
Status Report Problem
Like the O2 6.1 ROM, the SMS status report does not appear to work on this official new Win 6.5 ROM from O2.
The same test on other O2 phones (in my case the O2 XDA Orbit) work perfectly with an SMS status report sent back every time. For tests show that the phone does correctly request the status report, it is just unable to display it in any way.
If you are using this ROM, please make the following test and report back here. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, it would be great too.
As this phone uses a German language ROM, the instructions will be given with what is displayed in German.
Start / SMS / Menü / MMS-Optionen...
Set the following:
x Gesendete Mitteilung speichern
x Zustellungsbericht zulassen
x Lesebericht zulassen
OK
Menü / Extras / Optionen...
Select: "SMS / MMS"
x Übermittlung von Nachrichten bestätigen
OK / OK
Menü / Neu / SMS
Now write an SMS to another mobile (or even to yourself)
and send it.
As soon as the SMS has been sent, you will see a message "Nachrichten gesendet" which confirms the SMS has been sent (not that it has arrived).
Check that the SMS has arrived on the phone you sent the message to.
You should now receive a status report per SMS to confirm your SMS has been received. Unfortunately, this does not work on this ROM, at least not on my htc Touch Pro2 phone from O2 Germany.
Please test this and report back here if your receive an SMS status report or not. If not, please call the O2 Hotline (Kundenbetreuung), ask to be connected to the "Datenservice"and report the problem.
I have already reported this to O2 and they tell me they are testing this.
I will report back here when I get a reply.
Has anyone here got an idea how to fix this (missing registry entry perhaps).
Regards
Peter
Moin,
Does the O2 rom have other bugs?
help performance problems
Hi There,
got a kind of "same" thing with SMS confirmation.
In my experience it only gives an SMS confirmation report, when i send the sms from the windows platform (sms send) and not out of the touchflo 3d interface. If only sent via touchflo, theres only the info "msg sent".
Other bug i'm getting, ist the all time very high ram usage. In the task manager its very soon up to more than 80% usage, and it doesnt get down by itself... (no matter if you close all programms or not) This causes Problems while listening to music and surfing at the same time and other performance problems...
any idea how to fix this?? I've already heard from other german pages that this is a common problem...
Thanks for any help.
bye
