SMS - touchflow/MS Mob issue - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

ROM Version - 1.93.831.1 WWE
ROM Date 30/07/08 - By the Diamond Project Team
I seem to have a problem with either touchflow SMS or MS Mobile SMS. All my new SMS's seem to go into the touch flow SMS system but I don’t get a notification on the Today screen. But also I get no SMS's stored in the MS Mobile SMS inbox but unless they are sent directly from the MS Mob screen.
Seems the two functions are not talking to each other somewhere along the line?
I had used the search and not really come up with anything? Anyone any ideas?

Since you're using a non-official ROM shouldn't your post go to the corresponding thread of that ROM?

Can threaded SMS be installed

Hi Folks
I wonder if anyone knows how to do this? I've had a good look around, but cant find how to do it.
I've recently had my TYTN II replaced by Orange, my second one was delivered with a different ROM and radio to my first-its actually pretty good, i might not flash it for a bit!
The one thing its missing though is the threaded SMS which is in many (all?) of the WM6.1 ROMS (when they're grouped by contact/conversation).
Does anyone know if this can be added somehow?
one more quick one:
Ive installed the latest version of Opera Mobile-its an awesome browser. i cant seem to set it as my TYTN II's default browser though-anyone know how I could do this too please?
Thanks a lot in advance,
'tunes
Yes, it's possible. There are many progams that do this like Vito.
Thanks, but does anyone know if there's a way to update the messaging app to match whats in the 6.1 ROMs, rather than replacing it?
I used the threaded sms messaging from the palm systems. worked good.
Windows Mobile 6.0 does not natively support threaded SMS. Unless you are willing to upgrade to 6.1, you will need to install a 3rd party app like those already listed.
Thanks a lot folks.
Any thoughts on setting Opera mobile as my default browser?
I'm sure there's just gonna be a reg key that'll need changing, but I cant track it down.

Instant Messenger?

Whats a good instant messenger for the Tilt? Specifically, I need a Windows Live/MSN Messenger, that uses SMS rather than data (for battery issues). And I need it to work with cooked WM 6.1 ROMs.
Any good suggestions?

You're only choice AFAIK for SMS is the OZ IM APP.

I thought that didn't work on cooked WM 6.1 ROMs though? At least that is what someone told me a long time ago in one of the cooked ROM threads (I think it was the Hyperdragon thread but I could be mistaken)...

Never heard of that one. Anyhow, only way to find out is if you try it out
im looking for this function too....
EDIT:
I have downloaded the Oz cab and I will try it...
You can also register your mobile number for aim so when you log off aim(yahoo too btw) on the pc, it immediately set's you as mobile. The only issue is that if you don't have a client, you can only receive your IM through your received sms however, upon receiving, you can reply back with your own sms once someone already initated the convo with your 1st sms(the 1st sent you to begin with).

text messaging tf3d issue...

my htc fuze is running windows mobile 6.1 NATF V4.5S ROM.. I need help because my phone says it has 1 unread txt message and it really doesnt.. i think it deals with tf3d because i deleted all the messages on my phone and it still says the same thing... Sorry for the new thread but i did search for this answer but the search terms wasn't helping...please tell what to do..!!!

heh i actually have this same problem but im using EnergyROM 3.0 Phoenix ! ~ interested in the solution! ~
Get a good tool (m(mmaid or sktools) and clean the notifications queue. Problems like this exist since WinMo 6.

update your rom to EnergyROM Warhawk
No...
text messaging and voicemail notification both use the same "thing" from AT&T...
You need to call AT&T and have them reset your message waiting indicator...
I have a friend with the Black Jack 2 with the same problem... is it AT&T or WinMo?

Haha, I've had the same phone before my fuze..lol
but to answer other questions, it's not the at&t indicator.
I've already spoke with them, they cant control the text messages, only the voicemails.
I think it has to do something with the phone, more windows.

its one of the .htm file that is causing that. I forgot exactly but there's a fix floating around. thats what I did with the 6.1 Bloat Free Offiicial Fuze ROM I made. I extracted that .htm file from the Fuze leak ROM and integrated it to my Bloat Free Offiicial Fuze ROM.
Same problem
I have had this problem since updating my ROM. I'm running att's rom but don't use Touch Flo. I have gotten this message even after I delete all text's. What I have to do is launch TF and there it is, supposedly a new message. I delete it then shut off TF. Will prob change my ROM soon though, hate bloatware.

Try my ROM you might like it.
I had this problem once on my Tilt. Turns out there was a registry corruption with an unread MMS. I believe it may be the same situation. I'd recommend looking around the Tilt forums (Kaiser) for the issue.

Aaargh HTC Messaging AGAIN!!

Hi
Is there any Topaz ROM that does not have any of these sms bugs/problems:
1. Slowing down to a crawl while writing a long sms;
2. While writing an sms having words combine because the space bar just doesnt register or the keyboard is too laggy;
3. While writing an sms having the cursor return to the start of the message or at another line during writing a message;
4. Not being able to view, or losing the view window, when writing an sms resulting in having to re-tap the view/text writing window once or twice to see what is being written.
I have said this many times HTC messaging IS ATROCIOUS and these bugs make it downright annoying and unfunctional.
Is there any chef who has cooked with the latest 2.5 ROMS (as at Feb 2010) that has somehow fixed these problems or does HTC Messaging remain a crap app?
An annoyed Aussie
PS I have applied all the HTC SMS fix, Zenee's fix but to no avail.
it is getting better, but a perfect htc messaging is a farcry....hopeless.
btw the so-called hotfix is also useless.
Not Just Me
Thanks
At least it's not just me with these problems.
Can anyone provide us with an email address to someone of worth at HTC? I would love to let them in on these problems.
Cheers
Aussie

you can always google, not that will be of any help, I suspect.
ppl here said anything about (1)htc messaging is not intended to accommodate large number of texts, and/or (2)htc messaging is designed for Sense 2.1, not Sense 2.5
well, somebody somewhere is doing something about it, just have to be patient.
I believe you meant to say that htc messaging is designed for 2.5 not 2.1
It is also designed for snapdragon 1ghz processor. our processors cannot act as fast and therefore htc messaging is EXTRA slow

thanks for the correction.
however come to think of it, htc messaging on 2.1 is superb.
oh well.
When I use HTC messaging to create a new sms, and when I press Ok or Send,
the message will be send out, but the screen will hung....
Any other functions are OK but I can't use htc messaging anymore...still the same screen...
anybody can help?
Yeah, just disable the program, search 'zenyee disable' or 'disable htc messaging'.
Only one bug in recent ROMs that uses manila 2.5.1922 or 2.5.2010: the unread bubble doesn't dissapear after reading the message. If you don't mind not seeing the bubble at all (you have the notification icon in top-bar) this can be resolved by removing the 'sms patch.exe' from windows/start up/ directory (after installing the cab from the thread i pointed you at).
Oh and did I tell you that when used on manila 2.5.2010 the patch reverts to manila 2.1 sms messaging style?
I hope this thread becomes well known in the community for the solution to this catastrophic issue. I experience all the above mentioned problems and more, htc sense 2.5 msging is just unusable.
somebody just posted and claimed that he/she just ended the calamity surrounding htc messaging by installing the IME (touch input method or something).
I've got the same... I tried Leo IV, Prime I, new roms from NhatHoa, bysio and still big problems with sms... Now on NhatHoa I can't send sms, its still in outbox, SR doesn't help. New manila is faster than previous but msg app is just terrible. I'm going back to TESS III and Im waiting for fix for msg app
cheers

it's got nothng to do with the ROM, like I said. It's just the HTC Messaging on Sense 2.5 is kinda pushing it on a Topaz. You can always install Zenyee's cab to disable htc messaging, and then there's this UI to mimic a more decent cosmetic by Astronout.
Yes, I know that, I meen that new roms which are based on manila 2011 got this crappy htc messaging, so that's not working for me... Or maybe I just got something wrong Meanwhile when TESS Leo III is downloading, I try this cab, thanks
EDIT: now is working like a charm, even manila seems to be faster Thanks again So I hold on for now with reflashing

EDIT: The nightmare is over !!!
With NhatHoa's last rom ( Rom_WWE/ITA/FRE/ESN_NhatHoa_08/02/2010_Build 21891/23529_M2.5.20113030_Drivers 2.53 ), Zenyee's cab restores the good old version of HTC messaging ! (the one from manila 2.1)
So no more sms bug and there is even no need to apply the skin from Astronout.

So I was like.. WAIT WHAT?!
Confirmed? For real? The 2.1 under 2.5?
hi all, when you cook a rom, just include IME_Tutorial_1_0_19222525_0 and a touch input(such as IME_CHS_2_1_19203826_00), then HTC messaging will be OK and works fine.
messaging agony is over?

Any chef (ljankok, patensas, Dutty, Nhathoa, etc) can confirm to this, please?
I personally can confirm this using Tess prime I and if you disable HTC messaging then you'll get the old messaging from 2.1 but with a little side effects such as the notification bubble in messaging tab will not disappear sometimes it won't rarely it will also time stamps might be off as well but it does work and fast at that

[Q] HTC Touch Diamond2 SMS functionality

Hi,
I have HTC Touch Diamond2. Had some issues with the device where sometimes while using as modem or after being used as modem the battery won't charge until reboot. Upgraded the factory default Win 6.5 ROM 2.17 to the new Win 6.5 ROM 2.53. However, now the SMS screens and functionality changed completely. Long threads are very slow. Before the senders' names were hyperlinked - I could click on those and make a call straight from there, etc. Is there a way to bring back the old SMS interface and functionality with the new ROM upgrade? Tried the latest SMS stability update from HTC but I don't see any difference.
You can downgrade your SMS package, just search fo SMS fix.
