K-Jam,SPV C500, etc USB Connector - Off-topic

Dear All,
I know that this might not the best place to ask but i had a question that someone might have na answer for here.
I have a K-Jam and an SPV C500, anyways i wanted to know what's the name of that usb port that they are using, the one that's actually fixed in the phone? I want to get an extender cable that has that small connector from both sides (male from one side and female (same as the one fixed in the device)).
can someone point me to how to get one of these or if something like that exists?
Thanks a lot for your help really appreciated

Kaiser USB

I need to replace htc kaiser (Kaiser 130 if this matter) usb but i dont know USB product code. Can someone post it here?
Thanks in advance!
If you mean the USB port on the bottom of the handset, it is part of the flex cable and cannot be bought separately. Flex cables are usually less than $100US.

Indeed it can be replaced. It's a part made by a Taiwanese connector manufacturer Acon (www.acon.com) and if you look on the service manual (accessible through links on the wiki) page 92 shows the connector as Con5 and part no MJE21-11K7P20. Good luck finding someone to supply it but your countries agents for Acon may be a place to start. There are also companies that offer a USB socket replacement service where they do all the work as well as supply the part. Search the USB port failure related threads here for details as their name escapes me.
i have been using my motorola razr charger on my tilt and now its loose and wont charge right, my oem tilt charger still works. anyone else experience this?
can someone post on how easy it was for them to replace the miniusb?
just need to solder it on..its quite easy
easy? for newbies is quite harder with no skills I sugest to you do not do this because you can brick your pda.

Hi,
I don't know where's re located, but many people in the US had very good experience with some companies specialised in PDA reparation. You may want to make a forum search for "broken usb" or similar.
can someone please post on their experience and where is the best place to get the USB connector for the att Tilt, possibly post a tutorial or youtube video on how to do it?
my solution!
hi from germany,
actually i had the same problem with the kaiser a few weeks ago and i searched the whole internet for the usb connector in order to replace my broken one. NO CHANCE!
I call HTC Germany and HTC USA and they were not able to tell me the specifications of the connector. One thing i can say for sure. HTC is NOT! using a standardized USB connector as it is built in other devices (nokia n95, motorola razr etc.).
My solution was: I ordere a display-damaged HTC Tytn 1 and gave it to an electrician who did his job well. He replaced my Kaiser USB connector.
Pretty annyoing, but it worked for me.
Much success to you1

you can get them for like 5 bucks from amazon
i dont really wanna buy one but thats the cheapest i have seen. tnx
If you can solder it's easy to make one, but you're going to need an htc plug, not usb. It's proprietary and you need the wires, or you might be able to rewire the mini-usb but I haven't tried.
Email me from inspiritmedia dot com contact page. I already have one of these made from my 8525 that works.

No service and severed coax cable

Good news is I am now a proud G1 owner! Bad news is its busted . Everything on the phone appears to be in working order and I've loaded cyanogen's latest rom (which I believe includes the most up to date radio) but I still get no service and when I try to search for networks it responds back with an error. When I cracked it open I found that the UMTS Coax cable was severed. Being the reckless and stupid type I decided that this should be a quick fix and grabbed my soldering iron. A quick solder later and I still have no service and then realized I have no clue if this type of cable can be repaired with such a quick hack. Anyone care to chime in with suggestions or personal experience?
Thanks!
Nobody has an opinion? Not even a friendly hello?
well i can give you a friendly hello
what prompted you to open up the phone? was it a used phone or did you expect some damage inside? Can you give more details on the phones use prior to this?
I have the long and short coax cables, as well as the UTMS and GPS modules that attach to them if you are looking to replace. PM for details. The long cable is a pretty popular piece to be pinched or cut and they are not so easy to find.
Sorry for digging this back up. Just wanted to say thanks to the individuals who offered help but I opted to return the device since it was originally listed as in working condition and didn't want to deal with the chance that it was more than a cable issue.
Have a good day everyone.
almost a year later, but was wondering if anyone knows where i can get the 80mm UMTS coax cable.
i found this site carries them, but it's in Chinese and google translate isn't helping any.
http : // item . taobao .com/item.htm?id=2973124131
thanks
