Could you post a picture of this? I have a Cingular SX66, & can't figure out where the camera might be.

There is a file pda2K_2k5.rar on FTP that contains the WM5 ROM for BlueAngel. Origin of the file is unknown, flashing it to my device showed that it is really a WM5 ROM that is working. The OS version is 5.1.1700 build 14343, it has MS bluetooth stack and no camera. The camera drivers are present, so I think it would be possible to extract app from Himalaya ROM.
It has no MMS application and no SIM toolkit.
I've repartitioned DOC, so now I have 61Mb storage area and 128Mb RAM that are fully accessible.
All hardware buttons are working, and the keyboard is working fine, though there is no control panel applet that allows you to turn off its backlight.
Making hardreset is tricky - you have to press camera, record, power and reset buttons simultaneously. There you'll have a choice to use debugger (something about KITL), reset registry and format built-in storage. Navigation in menu is done with camera and record buttons, exit - "mail" button.
Thanks download now .
great it working thanks
So glad I worked late tonight...
Unbelievable!
Awesome etc.
I think the simplest thing to say is: THANK YOU!
That will not stop me from buying a native WM5 PDAphone like the Universal or the Wizard, but still I'm really happy this happened. If only that could force O2, I-Mate, Qtek etc. to sell an official upgrade, that would be nice...
Until now, I had to put my BA in reserve and used my XDAII for everyday for a single problem: BT!!! Maybe the MS stack here will do as good as the one in my XDAII 1.72. Just need my GPS and headset to work properly. The rest is luxury at this point.
BTW, Mamaich, is the procedure similar as the one for Himalaya WM5? Any difference?
Cheers,
Hal
Mamaich, it's time to make tweaking for the camera and especially the O/S speed.. :?
Did someone take down that RAR file? I can't seems to find it anywhere under BA section on the FTP site.

It would not work on any device other than BA.

At first we need a ROM image rom Universal or better an official ROM update.
unbelievable brother mamaich...but its true...
Erm...
This is not the same file as on Buzzdev.net is it?
The version is different.
Think I'd have better luck with this one?
Hi Mamaich,
I installed WM5.0 on my PDA2k but unlike you, i only got 49MB storage space. How is it that you got 61MB while i got only 49MB. What did i do wrong?
Also, why am i not able to synchronise with outlook after the rom upgrade?
Thirdly, i can pair my BT headset with my PDA2k but it does not transfer any calls to the headset. I tried using a BT GPS and that works perfectly fine. What do u suppose the problem is?
Would appreciate your comments.
UD.
Has anyone here yet or not weather or not this will work with Sprint or Verizon CDMA phones yet?
Wherez the ROM on the FTP, i searched but i couldnt find it. Its not under BA. Where is it? Is it different from the one that Buzz had on his site?

Still no luck with VZW CDMA, and I haven't heard of a successful case yet.
Yes, the file is the same as the one on Buzz's site.

Hi all
I´ve searched the registry with no luck at all... Is there anyway to lower the backlight brightness? Cause like this it drains the battery really fast! Rudra was right :?
Hey btw i´ve tried my Bt headset and it works better than before!! at least i can go like 5 - 6 meters from my phone and still hear the caller
Hi Im new user to ORANGE SPV M2000 in Lima Peru (south america), the M2000 is a great pdaphone, but i want other camera in M2000.
For example in market have:
SD CAMERA PHOTO TRAVELER 130S VEO (1.3 MEGAPIXELS)
FLY CAM SD LIFEVIEW (1.3 MEGAPIXELS)
is possible use both or one SD Camera in IMATE PDA2K or SPV M2000
Best regards

Hi, yes it possible. I tried using the 1,3mpixel hp sdio camera attachment in my pda2k and it worked like a charm. only problem is that it protrudes out the top of the phone making it impossible to fit into pouch or pocket. still cool to have tried it though.
Regards, Wayne
I have an 8125 but need to replace it with a 8100 without the camera. I want to know if there are any ROM's with that will work with the 8100 that has push email on it.
thanks
e.b.
I guess on a 8100 the same ROMs work as in a 8125... I removed my camera from a 8125 (actually a Vodafone VPA), and it still works, just the camera button has no function (until reconfigured). Guess the phone "knows" when the camera is gone.
patch for camara upgradeing exe
Hi,
I brought my phone to repair service cause of accelometer problem.
Service refused to fix it and refused a fact that mobile phone has a defect at all.
There's what they said: Accelometer is not a hardware but software and so we can't fix a software.
The only original HTC application using sensor is Teeter where my phones Teeter ball drifts to the same corner on various flat surfaces without phone's battery cover and is unplayable but service do not care about it at all and refuse the measurements of 3rd party software.
What chip is Diamond accelometer?
How can I prove the deffect to the service?
Thank's
up
teeter is not the only software that uses the chip. Opera and HTC Album also uses it. See if it works on these softwares.
Yes, but with Opera and Album it's a binary situation - portrait or landscape. So you can't really check it. Teeter is a good test in that it shows the degrees instead of just a dual situation.
Does your phone have a stock ROM? If you have flushed a custom ROM they can technically refuse to work on it. But if you have a stock ROM then they're obliged to fix it - be it hardware or software, what the heck would you know and care about? The darn device is not working as it should!

Did you read my post #4 and follow the links before pointing others to softpedia?
It's redundant.
Hi All,
Does the tape on the internal antenna cover have a functional purpose ?
It is the labelled tape on this component:
link
I assume "yes" because why else would they spend the $0.04 putting it there?
I ask because over the last two years, I've replaced the internal speaker and my LCD display. Everything works fine now, with the exception that the GPS has ceased working. It turns out that as part of my early curiosity and fumbling around, I pealed off the tape then re-applied it and there is a break in it now. Is the tape an RF shield or an antenna of some sort (i.e. is there a conductor in it), or is it just inert electrical tape ? Does it affect GPS reception? If it is inert, why is it there ?
At any rate, I've tried all the conventional solutions to GPS problems, including
the usual suspects: QuickGPS, turning off AGPS, hard-reset, clear view of sky
trying different radios and ROMs--probably 6 different radios and 4 different ROMs in different combinations
the HTC GPS Tool
throwing my phone against a wall*
I've searched this site and the entire net regarding the antenna cover & tape and haven't found anything ... Any insight ?
Thanks,
Guy
*haven't tried this option yet
Currently running (but have tried 6 Radios and 4 ROMs including OEM ROMs)
HARDSPL 3.29
ROM Version: 65Series WWE 04/30/09 (Phoenix III: Phx3.1.21815)
RAdio: 1.70.19.09
Protocol: 25.83.40.02H
I just set my tilt up exactly like yours and the gps didn't work by default. In each gps program I had to change it to use COM4 instead of the intermediate driver or default setup. Now all my GPS stuff works.
I would try what is mentioned above.. I have a LG Incite that was having the same problem... instead of a com port in the "External GPS Settings", under the GPS Program Port, it was set to "GPD7" instead of "Com4".. I changed that setting and it immediatly fixed the problem... Let us know if that works for you... My GPS went out on my tilt yesteday... and nothign fixed it except for a hard reset.. now it works fine again... Hopefully you won;t ahve to do that... Also, on a side note, I am using TomTom 7.45, as that one seems to work best with my Tilt without having to run any "Extra" programs to get the GPS to work....
Maybe not waiting long enough for WM 6.1 sat fix?

If you've not tried GPS since upgrading to WM 6.1 then welcome to the effects of WM 6.1 ROMs (at least the HTC ones which take ages by comparison to get a satelite lock). The WM 6.0 HTC ROMs with early 1.27.xx.xx series radios seem to initialise the GPS circuitry with much more power resulting in better GPS performance so try a WM 6.0 ROM/Radio/SPL setup. If GPS still doesn't work as it should then yes the tape is relevant. Personally I'd get HTC to fit the new tape and see what diffrence it makes - I suspect it'll make a difference.
GPS operational after replacing antenna cover...
Guys,
I just wanted to post an update to the thread. I doubt this is a general solution to GPS problems, but it may help some folks who have the specific situation I had.
For my specific case, replacing the antenna cover plate fixed my problem: GPS had not worked for 6 months (OS sees the GPS device, but 0 satellites under all conditions), and it is now operational after replacing the cover. The GPS had ceased working after I replaced the speaker and LCD display. When replacing those items, I had partially destroyed the tape covering the internal GPS antennas.
So, to answer the questions in my original post,
1. Replacing the cover (link in post # 1) now gets me a fix, with 5-7 satellites in the open. This is at least as good as it was one year ago before I disassembled my device with wreckless abandon.
2. Further, I did some "destructive testing" of the cover I replaced, and the copper colored conductors on the bottom of the antenna cover are in fact attached to the "tape," so I infer that the tape is conductive and/or functions as an antenna, since those conductors make contact with the copper posts on the motherboard.
I will do more testing with time-to-fix and useage conditions, but for now I'm pleasantly surprised.
Note:
* I have not changed my ROM or radio since I originally posted, so the above results are "ceteris paribus" ...
* In the preceding 6 months, GPS has not worked on 20+ different combinations of ROM & radio, including WM6.0 ROMs...

I had that problem until yesterday when I switched to hard SPL 3.56 from 3.29. I can now get a GPS fix in under a minute.
