is there any idea about this upgrade?
I see there's a link to here from wiki.
Bumping the topic. Anyone? I cant test the stack because I dont have a SIM now. Should we think some company is developing another 1.4x rom?

Ok - I downloaded the 1.13.01 Radio this afternoon and so far used it whilst connected to the Logi-Tech Pro BT Headset that I use when I'm in the car.
I have to say, I've not noticed any improvement betweeen this and the 1.13.00 but to be fair, I've only used the phone a few times..
I'll keep you posted if anything obvious comes up..
Personally, I can't see this as evidence that another company is developing an additional 1.4X ROM..
I guess we'll see how it goes..
Cheers!
Move radio.nbf from Extracted BA_BRPT_Radio_11310 to Extracted MaUpgradeUt_noID
Run the MaUpgradeUt_noID
I've downloaded these 2 files and there isn't radio.nbf in the Extracted BA_BRPT_Radio_11310.
Where can I find it?
Can anyone post it here?
Help please because my father have some problems of connecting to my BT headset. The voices are so crappy, and some people cannot hear him loud enough.

When you run the exe, it creates the radio.nbf in a temp folder. You just need to do a search for it on the computer.

Stop - You need to Extract the file using WinRAR or similar then extract MaUpgradeUt_noID into the same folder.. From there, you need to Double-click the MaUpgradeUt_noID!
As is known with this method, you sometimes have to run it twice.. The first time, you sometimes get an error..

This will have nil effect to the BT Headset.. This is the Radio which sends the signal from the phone to the transmitter.. You might need to update your Bluetooth Radio Stack to the latest available..

Well, I guess you could try the Audiopatch.. I'm not too sure what the outcome will be but if you do try, please be prepared to have to put it right if you don't get the answer you want.. Sometimes it's down to experimentation..
all this probably is, is a carrier update, added new channels or frequencies... its not a major update, although it may improve reception.

I've upgraded my ROM and Radio too and it works well.
And I've tried to upgrade my father's BA too, but I've realised there's no fresher stack what he uses.So I think there's no solution until we get a fresher stack...

Hi all,
Just read on another forum today (http://www.pocketpc-club.nl/forum/showthread.php?p=325917#post325917) that there is a new ROM version out for the QTEK9090, released by KPN (large dutch telco), so this should work on all XDAIIs, IMHO...
Here are the details I could gather:
rom version 1.22.00 WWE
date 10/22/04
radio 1.08.00
prtcl 1337.39
extROM 1.22.731 WWE

Interesting to see that KPN has got a hold of radio version 1.08.00.
Any KPN users among us? Can someone post this ROM so we can all have a look at it, and add it to the Wiki collection?

UPDATE: THE ROM IS POSTED HERE:

Just wondering what the differences may be  :?:
I read the same thread... I'm trying to find it aswell
Great! Just last weekend I spent at least 3-4 hours figuring out how to upgrade my SX66 to 1.06.02. Now I have to start all over again. Oh well, at least now I know what the process is....
Has anyone been able to extract the Radio ROM (and possibly decrypt/recrypt) for use on our PDA2Ks? I am curious to see if it improves anything, since 1.06.02 is still not good enough for my tastes.

As soon as I get the OEM ROM, I will tear it apart and, with permission from Peter Poelman, upload it in the kitchen and post here. Stay tuned!
Radio 1.08 ? Very interesting, im waiting for it
Any news guys about radio 1.08?
I have access to a KPN mobile Qtek 9090. In fact our company bought two. But I have fooled around with mine, without being careful enough
So I ended up with 1.0.6 on my device.
However, the other device still has 1.0.8 on it. If anybody can tell me exactly how I can dump the radio ROM, and get my 1.0.8 installed on my device again, I would be very gratefull
Of course I can post the dump here, just tell me how to do that...
does this rom fix the bluetooth issues?

To dump radio ROM you'll need an 64Mb or bigger SD-card, a cardreader (to make an image of SD-card) and read this link:
http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=151&PN=1
To dump only radio ROM you'll need to enter the command "d2s 60000000 00300000" in MTTY. Or you can dump all 3 ROMs (main, radio and extended) if you have time. Instead of NTRW program you may use WinImage to make SD-card image.
Place SD-card image to ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel and I or someone else would extract radio from your image and publish it here.
saqibj. Radio ROM deals nothing with bluetooth or WiFi. It is only a GSM ROM.
Just read on PPCW.net that the XDA III (BlueAngel) that was recently released in Germany has radio 1.10.00:
http://www.ppcw.net/?itemid=2274
Don't suppose anyone's got this version yet???

Thanks for your efforts, OPW...it is appreciated, and makes this a true excellent community...!
Hi Guys, I am working on it. Only problem is, I only have 1 gb storage cards, so I need a lot of patience and get enormous nb1 files as ntrw.exe seems to read the entire storagecard. I will see how big they are when I zip them.
I am trying my device first (with the wrong rom) just to be on the safe side... I already spent an 18 hour sunday on trying to fix my stupid mistakes...
NTRW just quit with error message: ReadFile(): OWRomFout.nb1 -- De parameter is onjuist
Translated: wrong parameter
NTRW wrote a 991.872 KB file, so I presume not all of it is read?
I will try a second time....
ROM is uploaded
Just look here:

Here is the latest KPN ROM, interesting...thanks to whomever upped it, and thanks OPW for your efforts...!
I will tear out the radio and up it as well.
Cheers,
HappyGoat
Re: ROM is uploaded
I have extracted radio ROM from SD-card image and uploaded it to the same directory. File - 1.08.rar
I have checked, it is really 1.08 radio ROM but I have not flashed it to my device yet. So use this update at your own risk. Extracted extended ROM is also there. Nothing interesting there. OEM_WWE_124_008.sa.CAB contains the same 3500 BT stack and several updated drivers. Someone who has sound problems with BT headset should try installing this CAB, reboot and check the quality.
YOU THE MAN!!!
thanks ...im downloading it now..
I have a MDA VARIO flashed with an Imate Kjam ROM (one of the first found here). Radio is stil 01.01.10
I want to flash my RADIO ROM. Is it as simple as this? (found in thread here)
Download and install the radio update utility - http://rapidshare.de/files/10717194/Wizard_GSM_11210.exe.html
I ask because I think there are also ROM updates that come with OS and Radio? And Also I read about the ROM tool that can do this. More roads lead to Rome I guess but the executable seems the easiest way to go.
Another way is to use aWizard 1.2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37386
Unfortunately I've found separete Radio ROM image just in Portugal Brazilian ROM archive (1.13.10, ftp://xda:[email protected]/HTC_Wizard/Roms/Qtek/QTEK_9100_portuguese.rar)

I don't think he meant it in a sarcastic way. I think he meant is there a way to quantify your findings.
I would like to improve the sound quality of my wizard, also. I'm especially concerned with the earpiece volume and the speakerphone clarity for the called party. Everyone I talk to on the speakerphone says it sounds very "scratchy" and full of "static".
Did yours sound this way before you upgraded, and does it still sound that way?
Thx.

I just noticed that a new ROM was posted on buzzdev that includes AKU2 finally!!
http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,100/func,fileinfo/id,243/
It's in french, but I don't mind as I'm fluent in french At least it's a start...
The version is 2.8.7.102 with radio ROM 1.13.10, but the file date is december 5th 2005 inside the EXE. Seems rather old... 2 months old...
I just want to know if anybody tried it so far and what are the improvements. I know it should have stereo bluetooth and push email, but anything else interesting? I already did an 1.6.7 update a few weeks ago, and reinstalling every program is a PITA... I wish we could do an update without hard resetting... or is there a good backup program that is actually restoring programs and registry in WM5?
Edit:
After some quick replies from you guys, it seems to be a working test version released for the Qtek 9100. So before using it, you must unlock your device if it's not a wonderfull Qtek, but you knew that It does work, but there might be some issues (like memory leaking, etc.) similar to a beta version. It's dated from december 5th 2005, so not the latest, but must of us here don't mind since it's finally AKU2 for the wizard!
It didn't took too long for someone to appear with an english ROM, impressive. Kudos for the original poster on buzzdev and to the poster of the english and danish ROMs. Now we can all enjoy it. How long before other languages pop up?
Now onto the files:
Just a reminder to users of devices that AREN'T a Qtek 9100; you must unlock your device before a ROM update. You can use the following tool to do so :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33796
French ROM
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Up...U_Prodigy_2080702_102_11310_QTEK_FRA_Test.exe
English ROM
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Up...U_Prodigy_2080701_101_11310_Qtek_WWE_Test.exe
Danish ROM
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Up...U_Prodigy_2080707_107_11310_QTEK_DAN_Test.exe
It could be good working version, haven't test it but in this article: http://www.pocketinfo.nl/artikel/5101 (it's in Dutch) it clearly shows the same date as you mentioned.
However, I would not recommend doing a rom update en then backing up old reg key's since they could easily have been changed by the upgrade.
There is sureley no way to turn this ROM into an English one?
This is great news. Anyone whose french is fluent installed this already? Please leave feedback.

The filename contains "TEST" keyword, is it reaaly beta-test or what? I don't wanna download ~50 Mb just for testing and my EDGE can't be distinguished from usual GPRS for now ;-(
French
Works fine !!!! And fast !
No bugs for the moment.
Does it include Direct Push?
I didn't tested it
I had to do a hard reset anyway today because I didn't set a link correctly at startup for the OMAP overclocking utility, so I decided to give this ROM a try. Seems to be a full ROM and I only see a note on the startup Qtek image that says "Test only, not for sale". There is a new WM boot image too. The ROM seems pretty responsibe, but maybe it's just the hard reset
I don't have a stereo bluetooth headset to test it and I'm not able to find the settings for the different profiles, maybe I need to pair a headset first to set the setero profile. I'll look into the new jabra or the moto as I was waiting for the AKU2 update with A2DP to buy one.
So far so good...
I decided to pair the Qtek with my computer to test the presence of A2DP and I was able to discover the stereo profile!! So next is to test for push email... maybe tonight...

Yes it does!
Although I don't speak French, I just had to try out this ROM. I configured server based ActiveSync e-mails came in automatically.
I also used ActiveSync web admin tool (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...23-D145-4DBF-A2CC-E0B4C6301453&displaylang=en) to wipe the device remotely. Strange thing is that device asked for my confirmation. I don't know what the message meant, but I guess it's because of the beta version.
hmm please let me know if this software really works.. I am currently waiting for my memory card to arrive and until then, i cant copy the file into my vario.. my max capacity is only 45MB and the file size is 55MB
by the way, if i install this update, will my vario will be in french as i cant read french!

i have a siemens sx66 w/o the camera built in. I have been trying to use the other ROMs on the site but the say that they arent for my phone. if you could link me to some roms that would be great. thanks in advance.
That depends on what you want to do and how good you are at flashing.
WM5 or WM2003? Everything in this forum area is for SX 66 but you do have to be careful about the no Camera part. However, the newest WM5's you either get the no-camera rom [TuMu 1.4] or the Helmi ROM which seems to auto dect the Camera [only need to remove the camera bat from the startup].
If you want to do WM2003, I suggest to start out easy with the SX66 Standardization Project site. This is in fact how I started with flashing my SX 66... then progressed to this site with WM5.
If you are going to do WM5 I suggest to start with Helmi BA Aku.2.3 v1 Beta. IMO its a good WM5 ROM to start off with. However, it is beta and if you never have flashed before you may want to think twice before doing it.
Good Luck!
help! i cant get any one to work with it!! nothings working!!!! the rom keeps saying that it wasnt made for my phone. i already have wm2003 (not SE) and i would love to upgrade to WM5. if anyone could please help just let me know asap. thanks
You have to change the operator ID in the nk.nbf file first, which BTW for our phones is AT%CID?
In most of the ROMs there is a *.bat to change the operator code.
Also, do a little searching/reading the Wiki's you should be able to get this information and not freaking out on the forums
but how! please give me step by step.. lol.. thanks
not true at all

Also, do a little searching/reading the Wiki's you should be able to get this information and not freaking out on the forums

this is not true in the least, and youre supposed to be a hardcore flasher eh! hah sorry dude I dont mean to tease but thats useless work you dont need.
For the siemens sx66 or and blue angel POS you can just get the MAupgradeUT_noID prog (helmi has a folder named PH20B1 in AKU 2.3 That is the folder with ALL you need minus ROM)
copy your desired hacked MS stack into that folder, cradle your Angel and bam start it up. No more bs id codes or whatever, works everytime.

Hard core I am not - thank you very much. I use update operator ID unless that will not work. Then I use NoID if I have to - I was unsure if it was proper to use the NoID from the start. So next time I'll STFU and the you do the support.

Hah sorry man Im just giving you a hard time! You know Americans are punkasses
You can use the same prog for all flashing, radio to BT to whatever
actually odie3 is right, you should try the set operator method first as it is much more reliable to use BaUpgradeUt.exe as it hardly ever fails, but MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe (for me anyway) fails about 30% of the time you use it.

hah of course hardware. Different units will have different problems that's a given.
I've flashed all of these roms (2003se to wm5 back to 2003se to wm5 again) doing benchmarks roughly 50X+ now inbetween with different models. My buddy has 2 qteks and another the tmobile and have had zero fail on the noID prog.
midget you have must hardware issues bra (must be orange units). they are the same program with the same outcome without the Country/id code. I was just stating no use in doing extra work when not needed.
I've used your rom as well and it ran like poo on a siemens sx66 which you said runs great on your orange. Makes sense
Just extracted from Latest LAM 1.03.947.15 R2AA015 uploaded by Pavel
Version of radio is 1.14.25.55 .........

You may post improvements...
And if you download and like it say thanks at least....
Already downloaded 1,135 times woooow....
oh wow.. great find fulgore.
have you flashed it?? what improvements do u see???
have you dumped the rom?
Can you post the rilphone.dll from it as well?
If you don't know how to use driverwiz then I'll sign it using that so we can try the two together..
So, has anyone tested them? Do they work well? Results?
Not yet here, but here's the corresponding rilphone (just dumped the rom, despite the date being more recent, the files are all lower version numbers).
file is signed with driverwiz so soft reset and it should kick in..

Good work, fulgore !!
I've flashed 1.14.25.55, results compared with 1.11.25.76:
1) BT, WiFi work OK, seems at first blush more sensitive and fast
2) GPS is excellent, maybe even faster than 1.11.25.76 for TTFF. HDOP is 0.8/0.9m - very good
3) GSM/GPRS in my marginal signal area is only slightly improved (ie. still very crappy). I'm becoming convinced that the X1 metal case interferes with the signal. I haven't used fard's rilphone dll yet
Overall, an improvement
So how exactly did you extract the radio from the LAM ROM file and convert to flashable nbh file ?

I'm using NBH Utility 0.93 ... just re-tried and it works OK too
A Quick Question for anyone in the know:
would this work on the X1a (the NAM) version as well?
Thank you in advance
YES
The radio can be used in a X1a or X1i
and any rom (os)
It doesn't matter...The rom version, but improvement may be different in different roms something to do with rilphone.dll and other stuff...
hi.can someone upload to megaupload or mediafire please!!thanks in advance
