GPRS downloads weather and emails every 15 mnutes and under 1.13 it used to turn on and then off. Under 1.15, once it turns on, it does not turn off which is why one needs to reset to turn Bluetooth on.
Is there a solution for timing out GPRS like it did in 1.13? Is IA_CallerID a possibility?
Thanks.

Hi all,
before I upgraded my SX66 to the new SX66 firmware + latest Radio, GPRS timeout was very long (like 15 minutes) and didn't disconnect on power off, so that things like MSN messenger could keep working when the phone was off.
After the upgrade, the timeout is very short and now the phone shuts off GPRS wen it turns off. I actually noticed that it takes the phone 1 second to turn off while it was instantaneous before.
Anyone knows where this is set, if it can be changed, if it's a known issue...?
I am thinking that since here in the US, GPRS is billed by the MB (or these days is unlimited), a Cingular Radio ROM might be fairly lax with timeouts, whereas a French Radio (which I think the latest radio I have is) might want to disconnect very quickly since (I think) GPRS is billed by the minute in Europe.
Any thought or corroborating experience?
Laurent
A few of us at the office upgradded our Siemens SX66s to 1.40.124 with Radio 1.13.00. Ever since then we have had issues with the GPRS communications. We have to turn the unit to flight mode and then back on and it works fine. The Cell portion works great, we can send and receieve with no issues. When we try to Sync up with the Exchange Server we get either an Internet 31, 33 or 36 Error. and either toggling flight mode or softreset makes it work again.
This happens if you dont use it for a a bit of time (not sure how long) Though if you are surfing the net, you can stay connected for as long as you need to.
Is there some setting that turns off the radio for GPRS or something?
Anyone else have issues with an SX66 running Radio 1.13.00?
Thanks,
Scott<-

MyCingular 8125 is rock steady with WWE 2.16.9.1, Radio 02.07.10 Protocol 413.1.03 etc, but if I use Wifi at all and then turn off the device, it will never resume. The indicators are all flashing in sequence but I cannot wake it up.
I end up doing a soft reset.
This happens if I use Wifi briefly, turn off Wifi, and then turn off the device. After a few minutes of sleeping I cannot wake it.
Any ideas?
I Only have e freezing Qtek 9100 when i leave WiFi active
Hi,
Allmost the same problem, when I start using Wifi and forgot all about the qtek. The device goes in sleep mode. When I press the powerbottom I get a today screen (or any other screen, last used application) but within a minute the device freezes and I cannot use it anymore.
I have to soft reset the wizard to get it oprational.
Also I think the wizard uses sometimes the proxy from the GPRS connection. Nothing happens when I start surfing with the Internet Explorer. I don;t need a Proxy when using the WiFi connection, I do need a proxy when using thegprs connection.
Best regards Tom
with Cingular I don't need a proxy for the GPRS modem connection. In fact if I use their proxy wireless.cingular.com I can not post anything to this site using the GPRS connection.

Is the connection dropping out?
If the connection is working fine at the required radius, don't let what the meter says concern you.
wifi
the signal did drop out when i am out of my study room where my router sits.
it used to still connect the wifi.
any help?
Sounds obvious, but have you any new electrical equipment that may be causing interference??
This was happening to me if I tried and use wifi in the Kitchen, because of the fridge!!
I used sktools to change to G mode compatibility and it stopped.. Could just be a fluke though!!
wifi
hi all
tried that but the signal still the same
wifi - wlan problem
Hi,
i've updated my VPA III (BlueAngel) with Xplode's latest R4 image. It's a very nice work xplode!
But I can't turn my wifi on. If I go to the wireless and turn on wifi like discribed in the other threads i can see the left green led (for wifi) blinking like wifi is switched on but the software says still wifi is turned off. it also doesn't work in the comm manager.
thanks
Ebo
i will describe more specific the wifi turning on procedure(you should perform it once after boot, and then use comm manager until reboot):
1. turn on wifi trough wireless manager, it turns on and the turns off by itself
2. turn on wifi from comm manager, now you can control it from comm mnager, enable disable
thank you for the datail infos but I also tried this before and whatever I try nothing helps. It keeps like I described it:
when i do your first step
1. turn on wifi trough wireless manager, it turns on and the turns off by itself
---> the left green hardware led beginns to blink like wifi is physically enabled
but i can't get any access to it and the wireless item on the today screen says still "Wi-Fi: Unavailable"
and the secon step
2. turn on wifi from comm manager, now you can control it from comm mnager, enable disable
-->seems to has simply no effect
before with an older helmi and the original vodaphone software i also had some promblems like sometimes i had to do a soft reset before i could use wlan
is there any way to debug it like a log file or this KITL!?
i also tried a new software update and I cleaned the registry hive and i've formated the storage
@xploe i use your latest release xplode R4 lazy release and at the boot screen appears
R 1.15.00
D 1337.45
G 5.35.04.WWE

Can I ask did u notice this problem before you upgraded & were hoping to solve it via upgrade?.
If your wifi board is on its way out or the antenna has taken one blow two many and let go. No amount of flashing could help.
Did the problem only arise after flashing?.
Hello,
I have a problem with my HTC S730. The dataconnection in connmanager is turned off. But I can't get it back on. It works for half a year but now it won't work. So when my dataconnection is off I can't call or sms.
I tryed a hard-reset but without result...
Any suggestions?
I don't understand. You switched off phone at commmanager - maybe. After restart will be GSMpart fix at switchoff.
Do you go to commmanager and switch phone to on. You don't need dataconnections for SMS and call.
Maybe you switched on airplane mode. It isn't possible use GSM on airplane mode.
If you have switchon GSM, you need setup GPRS or dial-up at settings->connection. You will ask yours network operator.
If no,
Maybe you have problems with yours SIM cards, maybe you have problem with GSM operator or maybe you have problem with phone. If don't you repair it, you test to HW restart. BUT YOU WILL LOST ALL DATA !!!
If you turn off the data connection it will stay off until something in the phone prompts for network access. I usually just refresh my weather page and it fires up and is back online.
However since you hardbooted your phone and still have no luck you might be having other issues. Even more so since you cannot make a call or anything since disabling it. Any new software or flashing done to the phone's rom or radio?
Ok ty all!
My phone is back on.
I don't know how but it works.
Although I still have some problems with my network.
