Speakerphone improvement with radio ROM? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I have an English Qtek 9100 with 01.01.10 radio ROM. Can anyone confirm that updating radio ROM will improve speakerphone performance? Is there anything else that will help? Right now, there is tons of static heard by people I'm talking to on speakerphone (my end sounds fine).

Speakerphone improvement
I had the same problem with my QTEK. I upgraded to the rom that can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37980&highlight=custom
This is the best rom I have used so far, very fast and reliable. The audio quality on speakerphone is greatly improved

Did you have to remap your keys?

No, it is an english rom which works with the qwerty keyboard. This updates your entire rom and not just the radio.

Since updating deletes everything, what do you use to back up you programs, etc? I have not tried the update yet because i need some back-up software. The only one I've heard of is Sprite Backup...

i dont backup, i just re-install after i have reflashed the rom.

Thanks for your help, monger. I'll give it a try.

is it worth upgrading from the mini s o2 rom ?

no probs - is you need help while flashing the rom - you can msn me ([email protected])

Molski 2.26 ROM and smartdialing

Hi,
This is my first post on the forum. I have been reading up on it for quite some time and I love it!
I have recently downloaded the molski 2.26 rom for my QTEK 9100, which works like a charm. However, one feature that I used to like a lot seems to be missing.
Smartdialing does not seem to function anymore.
Can anyone tell me how to enable this feature again? Or how to install it if it is not part of this ROM?
Cheers,
DeputyNL
smartdial is not included in that rom, install this cab and reset.
That works like a charm, thanks a lot!
you saved my life !! thanks!
Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade to that rom also, is there anything else missing?
I'm currently running rom 2.17.7.2.wwe
Is there a straight forward upgrade from the above rom from Qtek?
deputynl which version of the molski ROM did you install? English or Dutch? Cause I tried the Dutch version and installed the smart dialer afterwards, but the smartdialer messed up the Phonepad layout...
So now I installed the English version, which runs fine with the smartdialer... but just curious
I installed the English version as the Dutch one has some weird translations ('dismiss' does not mean the same as 'negeren').
The install was easy. The only thing I found missing was the smartdialer, other than that, it has all the goodies. Even Push mail worked right out of the box.
I find it to be very stable. The 2.17 seemed to have some painting issues with the phone app, which needed me to reboot the phone once in a while. Also, activesynch over wifi stopped working after activesynch over USB. Both those issues seem to be solved in this firmware.

Orange M700 UK guide to upgrade from WM5 to WM6 + other questions

Hi all,
I have recently got my Orange SPV M700, new to this forum so apologies if these questions have been covered before. My details are as follows;
Operator version: 19.123.1.615
ROM version: 1.23.61.5
ROM date: 01/25/07
Radio Version: 1.30.00.01
Protocol Version: 32.63.7020.08H
I am wondering about several things;
1. Can I upgrade WM5 to WM6, if so, where is the ROM and how do I do it?
2. Can I make a backup of my factory ROM/settings prior to the upgrade incase something goes wrong I can reset to original state. If so, how?
3. Has anybody successfully update ROMs to WM6 on Orange SPV M700s?
4. Can anybody recommend any cool apps/games for the M700 and where I can download them from.
Thanks in advance!
Scott
Scott, can't answer the question about WM6 myself, as I am also looking for this.
As to regards to backup ROM, there is this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309959
just tried it myself and works a treat.
As to apps, you definitely want to get hold of the M700 Bass fix cabs, without them, the sounds if hideous. PM me and I'll email them over.
Thanks. I have updated with the bassfix cabs and it might a slight difference, although not what I would call bass. I am using the supplied earphones though. Can anyone get any decent bass sounds out of those?
Regarding your 1st post- look in the Trinity/WM6 part of this forum. There are a few versions of WM6 you can load, but unless you are willing to risk your device, stay clear until you are fully familiar with it.
Installing an unoffical ROM WILL invalidate your warranty. There are ways to backup your ROM, but if there is a major system failure, you may not be able to revert it, so beware.
There is unlikely ever to be an official WM6 ROM from Orange. though HTC are still considering it. Dopod (Asia) are testing one. These would still infringe your Orange license however.
Having said all that, it is unlikely that Orange would detect an unoffical ROM, if there were a hardware fault, because fixing it would entail flashing the official ROM anyway!
i have updated mine to wm6 and it works a treat.
you will need to install the new voice mail notifications cab though otherwise a missed call results in a text message with [email protected]
Where is the link for the WM6 ROM update?
You would need to CID unlock it 1st otherwise you wont be able to anything other than an Orange ROM.
Heres the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293957
I Have the Orange M700, Unlocked the SIM and the CID with help from the above link.
Flashed the WM6 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305133
and flashed back the original orange ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309959
Nerve racking at times but nice when its all done
Nogs

Do you have a link for this cab, I need to install it myself but can't find it.

The simplest answer would be to flash a different rom, maybe one of the stock 1.93 ones?

Or install Panosha Shine one 0.7!

Why Upgrade Radio Version?

Hi everyone,
Been using my BA for years now(4th one so far ) runing Sundreams 6.1 with radio version 1.06.02
Rom 6.141WWE HT4.20
ExtROM Black Kernel
rom Date 10/31/08
I know the latest radio version is 1.15 and here is my NOOB question
should I upgrade my radio version to 1.15 ???and BT version to whatever is latest or availabe??
I just dont know why?
Have no problem with it as is other than all the usual 6.1 glitches(wlan/ no radio after battery removed)
OOh right While I am asking, Why an earth I loose voip config after a soft reset? I use wm6 voip drivers and Sip conf tool by Shaun33 version 2.0.1 once i configure it works ok if I soft reset I have to re enter all the config via this tool otherwise no voip!! Any ideas?
many regards
It has some advantages (especially over the one that you have). Better voice quality, better signal, slightly better battery life, among other things.
As far as the voip, I cannot help you there, but if you go to the thread where you got this, I am sure someone had your same issue.

Thanks for your reply, Can radio be upgraded regardless of the windows version running. I have all the files to do the upgrade but not sure if its ok to do so whilst running wm6.1 Sundreams version or does it needs to be reverted back to wm2003 etc etc.
Thanks
the radio rom is independant from the OS Rom. technically, you don't even have to hard reset afterwards.

Audio input/output issues

Heya,
i have an MDA Vario III and i have recently updated to a new rom.
i used the newest HardSPL to date (3.xx) and a custom cooked rom.
my real problem though was after i updated to OliProf the audio iput/output would completely cut off. i found it was the radio rom, so i updated it AFTER i updated the hardSPL and rom, (i have 1.27.12.11). the sound worked fine after i did all this for a week or two, but now the sound has started stopping again, the only solution is when i flash the radio rom, but the sound would then cut off after 3/4 hours, meaning i have to reflash the radio rom every 4 hours
any help would be greatly appreciated
Poly
All newer ROMs are WM 6.1-6.5 so need the radio to match so you should be using a WM 6.1 Radio and not a WM 6.
The Ultimate Radio Thread
so what i should do is really is go through and try all the radio roms under W6.1? because even after reading, i am still confused as to which rom i should use to update, sorry ):
and FYI i found out that the rom im using at the moment is "THE AMAZING 23001 ROM by DJKOA"
and the SPL is 3.56 HARD
Go with the recommended radio "mind u i think that it's not matched" read the thread from back as sure posters have mentioned radio issue, then you will have phone working and from there only you can find the best Radio as it depends on so many variables location\carrier etc and effects battery life\data\GPS Fix.
And on another note H-SPL 3.34 is recommended for 6.5
