Heya,
i have an MDA Vario III and i have recently updated to a new rom.
i used the newest HardSPL to date (3.xx) and a custom cooked rom.
my real problem though was after i updated to OliProf the audio iput/output would completely cut off. i found it was the radio rom, so i updated it AFTER i updated the hardSPL and rom, (i have 1.27.12.11). the sound worked fine after i did all this for a week or two, but now the sound has started stopping again, the only solution is when i flash the radio rom, but the sound would then cut off after 3/4 hours, meaning i have to reflash the radio rom every 4 hours
any help would be greatly appreciated
Poly
All newer ROMs are WM 6.1-6.5 so need the radio to match so you should be using a WM 6.1 Radio and not a WM 6.
The Ultimate Radio Thread
so what i should do is really is go through and try all the radio roms under W6.1? because even after reading, i am still confused as to which rom i should use to update, sorry ):
and FYI i found out that the rom im using at the moment is "THE AMAZING 23001 ROM by DJKOA"
and the SPL is 3.56 HARD
Go with the recommended radio "mind u i think that it's not matched" read the thread from back as sure posters have mentioned radio issue, then you will have phone working and from there only you can find the best Radio as it depends on so many variables location\carrier etc and effects battery life\data\GPS Fix.
And on another note H-SPL 3.34 is recommended for 6.5

Hi all,
As this is my inaugural post and I am a noob I decided to add all my eggs to one basket.
I have an I-mate K-jam and currently have this ROM installed on it.
RUU_TMobile_US_226102_22610105_022511_WEE_Ship
Along with:
REAL_Radio_2.61.11
IPL 2.26
SPL 2.26
GSM 02.61.11
OS 2.26.10.2
I first started messing around with the ROM version as the latest ROM from Imate did not work properly with Vista as there was a section missing that allowed you to switch between RNDIS and Serial connection over USB.
I first installed AKU3.2-1.ORC1 which I got from this site and that also did not have the Switch software included.
Anyway I then decided as I was messing around I would unlock the CID as I was going to install the AKU 3.3 from Faria. So I followed the instructions and downgraded and unlocked the CID (whatever that is) and it was recommended to install the T-Online ROM so as to get a stable IPL/SPL 2.26.
I followed all the instructions and everything worked perfectly and the T-Online ROM had the USB to PC software included so I decided not to bother upgrading further.
I also was not happy with the Bluetooth functionality with the Imate AKU hence upgrading, but all the ROMS or AKUs whatever you want to call them are all the same, the bluetooth functionality is crap and limited to only OBEX push.
Is there an ugrade to the bluetooth stack that will give me full functionality and not just this cut down version.
Also the Phone upgrade I did to 02.61.11 is awful, I was running 02.26.... before upgrading and that version had a proper phone display with nice blue buttons and stuff, this new one has nasty grey buttons and keeps popping up the address book as soon as you type a number. Can someone intergrate the better functionality of the 61.11 version with the look of the 02.26 version please?
If I upgrade to the AKU 3.3 will this include the USB to PC in settings -> Connections? will it include a fully functional Bluetooth stack? will it include the better look and feel of the phone with the upgraded functionality?
So my questions are:
Where can I get a fully functional Bluetooth stack from?
Is it worth upgrading to AKU3.3?
Can the functionality of 2.61 and the look and feel of 2.26 be combined into a better radio ROM?
Sorry for being a newbie but everyone has to start somewhere and i have read through all 19 pages of this forum and not found what I want to know, but this could be because I do not know half of what you are talking about.
Cheers
Steve

1. there's only microsoft bluetooth stack for wizard
2. yes
3. radio version doesn't have anything with look and feel of the phone application
Ah ha now I understand things abit more, I installed the AKU 3.3 version and am now happy with my K-jam except for the bluetooth functionality which sucks but you can't have everything can you
Cheers

Starting of with that I'm a Newbie to these Roms and radio will probably get alot of posts with comments like "did you try the search bar, ..". But i'm giving it a go this way
my rom now is 1.56.00.00 and radio 1.27.12.11 - quite old yeah ? Anyway its a NL ( belgian ) radio i presume.
What can i do best to get my tytnt updated to wm 6.1 with a latest radio for my needs.
Does it matter wich rom i take ? is it regio-bounded ? if yes which newest radio file is available for dutch-belgian people ?
2ndly i heard that i need to unlock my phone first before i can flash this new rom on to it. do i lose my warranty on this tytnt then ? or can i backup the system and reinstall it later back if it has to go back for reparation in warranty?
remember im totaly new to this and it would be friendly if someone could give me a descent answer. Thanks
I would also be interested in this, i have HardSPL'd and managed to flash a HTC Asian WM6 ROM + latest Radio, but after 4 hours of reading these forums, cannot find a answer as to what i need to do to get to WM6.1. is it now just a case of flashing a 6.1 ROM?
Cheers,
Check the ROM development forum, there are several ROMs posted there.
You first need to unlock your phone, as it comes it wil not let you flash any ROM
To get Windows Mobile 6.1, just flash any of the many available ROMs, some of them are HTC official ones. The radio depends on the ROM, but basically they are divided between 1.64 or older radios, and 1.65 newer radios.

Check this thread about radios:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349375
Yours is new, but it's a WM6 radio
Recent WM 6.1 radios are 1.58.XX.XX, 1.64.XX.XX. or 1.65.XX.XX
Check official HTC and AT&T shipped ROMS here

Or try any of the cooked ROMS, they come with a lot of stuff preinstalled and different looks.
cheers trying NoThrills WM 6.1 V3 ROM atm, simplicity first
please read kaiser wiki ... its in english
a rom is a rom. As long as it is for your phone it's all the same. You flash the 6.0 the same as the 6.1..
Please read patiently ... I have spent many hours reading on the forum and flashing many ROM's:
I have T-Mobile MDA Compact IV, originally purchased in Czech Republic, with stock ROM version 1.37.110.3 CSE. Everything "worked fine" except for the huge memory and batery consumption
Here is what I did:
1. Installed OliNex Unsigned HardSPL version 1.40
2. Upgraded to latest SwiftBlade ROM - very nice, but I started to have problems with audio soon - after switching few of the ring/notification wav and mp3, the audio got stuck - either silent or buzzin with a high-pich tone. The same could happen when I muted ringing phone by turning phone face down. Only soft reset helped.
3. Upgraded to latest Duttys ROM - very nice as well, but had same problems with the audio.
4. Upgraded to latest panosha Shine On 1.7 - same problems again (but now I understand why there is no point in comparing ROM's, each has its own value)
5. Played with the official HTC 1.93 ROM (changed the device ID as MDA compact has DIAM200), installed it successfully, but had same problems with sound again.
6. Now here is the tricky part; as a last resort (the phone was of no use once the sound was dead ) I have returned to original T-Mobile ROM. I have downloaded and installed UK version, which is based on ROM 1.37.110.3 WWE and only updated the radio to 1.00.25.05 for better power management.
I do not have sound problems any more. However, it is hard to believe that any HTC 1.93 based ROM (original or cooked) is not compatible with MDA Compact IV. Also, I have found many people on the forum, with MDA using cooked ROMs and not reporting any problem with sound.
I apologize for the long post, but can you please (escpecially the chefs) look at the issue? There are several posts of people reporting sound problems but there was no response to it yet.
I will really appreciate your help. I want to use HTCBlack skin and any of those cooked ROM's!
EDIT - UPDATE
I have originally believed that the problem was resolved. Unfortunatelly until the first call. The phone rings once, sometimes twice, and then the sound goes out!
I have tried all possible versions of SPL and ROM (HTC Original, Diamond Project, SwiftBlade, panosha, Dutty, and more) - most of the day today - but the result is still the same.
The only possiblity to return sound is to reboot - but only until next call. You can ask my friends, they are getting crazy.
When I flash back the TMUK stock original ROM, problem does not appear, even when I upgrade the radio to 1.00.25.05. No problem at all.
Please help
I have a MDA Compact IV (from the UK) and i'm currently using Panosha Shine On 1.7 and i have no sound issues, though this is the only other ROM i have tried apart from the official!
Sometimes its the SPL which creates issues. try Different Hard SPL,s i found best to be jockys 2.4 however this only shows you have 128MB ram. otherwise very good spl.
+1
thanks,
I have exactly the same problem and it's very hard to believe that SPL can be a source. I'll try other SPL's and report here the result.
thank you

Surprise, but thanks for the tip. I have changed HardSPL to JockyW 1.24 and updated to SwiftBLASW ROM 6.0 and did not see any problem with audio for at least 2 hours . I consider this issue solved. Thanks again!
Many thanks to tigger80!
working great!
... by any chance have these findings been substantiated by more people? - and if so, do Olipro and Cmonex (the people who released OliPro HardSPL v1.40) know about this problem?
Just a thought.
The problem is not resolved yet
I have updated the original post. I still have a problem and can discribe it better. I have also contacted directly OliPro with request for help.

Hey guys...
I made the hard-spl process and installed the infinity rom but i then reverted to the official swedish rom. But i noticed that my radio had changed... I don't know what version i had before i did all this, but after i installed the update from seus i ended up with the official r3a swedish rom 1.05.936.9 and radio version 1.14.25.55
My question is: What is the original radio version??? I had 1.14.25.55 after i installed the infinity rom, after i installed the official swedish r2a rom i got 1.10.x and when i finally installed the r3a rom from seus i ended up with 1.14.25.55 and 0.78.0000 spl...
Am i clear to send it to service??
Best regards
I doubt they would notice, I've read people have gotten a refurbished phone from them and found hard spl on it. But if you want to be cautious...
When did you buy the phone, and have you sent it in for repair since then? (They will update it for the repair) Depending on when the phone was made, the radio version will be different.
It would be safer to go with an older radio, unless it is a newer phone. 1.11 is pretty safe if its 6 months or a little older. If it's newer 1.14 would be okay. If you have no idea when it was made, put 1.11 on it, that's the most safe in my opinion.
If they call you, just play dumb. Act like you aren't good with tech stuff, and say FM radio if they ask about the radio version.
Also I've never seen a ROM change the radio, so I'm not sure about that theory. (That could be the original version.)

Official ROMs change the radio. AFAIK, no chefs cook ROMs with radio inside, so most likely whatever radio he had before he updated using SEUS.
I sent my xperia back with Hard-spl since it was in a condition where i couldn't connect it via activesync. They didn't notice
Hi!
thanks for your replies. My xperia is 3 months old and i sent it in for service 2 months ago... But i think that it had 1.14.25.55 before i started playing with it but i just wanted to be on the safe side and ask the pros.
Best regards

Rom 6.141WWE HT4.20
ExtROM Black Kernel
rom Date 10/31/08
I know the latest radio version is 1.15 and here is my NOOB question
should I upgrade my radio version to 1.15 ???and BT version to whatever is latest or availabe??
I just dont know why?
Have no problem with it as is other than all the usual 6.1 glitches(wlan/ no radio after battery removed)
OOh right While I am asking, Why an earth I loose voip config after a soft reset? I use wm6 voip drivers and Sip conf tool by Shaun33 version 2.0.1 once i configure it works ok if I soft reset I have to re enter all the config via this tool otherwise no voip!! Any ideas?
many regards
It has some advantages (especially over the one that you have). Better voice quality, better signal, slightly better battery life, among other things.
As far as the voip, I cannot help you there, but if you go to the thread where you got this, I am sure someone had your same issue.

Thanks for your reply, Can radio be upgraded regardless of the windows version running. I have all the files to do the upgrade but not sure if its ok to do so whilst running wm6.1 Sundreams version or does it needs to be reverted back to wm2003 etc etc.
Thanks
the radio rom is independant from the OS Rom. technically, you don't even have to hard reset afterwards.
