This is driving me nuts...
I have bought an XDA IIs (and love it) and needed a car kit, so bought the one recommended on the O2 website - the Sony Ericsson HCB-300.
I had the kit professionally fitted, and sat in my car at lunch time eager to get it to work.
It goes through the motions - it pairs up no problem, and I enter the 0000 code. However, when it goes to connect it just sits there for about 15 seconds, then announces "Connection unsuccessfull".
I have read a load of posts about patches for this device, is this what I need or do I need to change any settings on the devices????
Thanks in advance!
Steve
Steve,
I have the HCB-30 not the 300. However, once in a while I have the same problem as you. I get around it by deleting the BT pairing that exists, then hard rebooting the O2 unit, then pair it up again.
I think the BT software in the O2 XDA IIs is stuffed up. I have to hard reset my O2 unit regularly as it doesn't automatically link up to the HCB-30. I had no problems with my XDA II
I hope my suggestion helps you out.
I got a new car last week with the HCB-300 pre-installed and I have exactly the same problem - pairing no problem but no connection. I tried upgrading to the latest 1.40 ROM and then it worked just fine.
However, after reinaastalling TomTom Nav 3 it doesn't work again so I have come to the conclusion that TT3 and HCB-300 are incompatible. I'm looking for a solution still and if I cure it I'll post ot here.
Very annoying indeed.
Hello,
is there a way to have the microsoft bluetooth that is on the XDA II on the XDA III ?
Thanks
And my question is : Oh my god, why?
All users of XDA II wants to have another BT stack. We are trying to use Widcomm (Which is in the XDA III) or another else than M$, which is almost useles...
As mentioned by kopecek, why would you prefer Microsoft drivers?
Having had an XDA II which only had Microsoft Drivers, I love my new XDA IIs which comes with Widcomm/Broadcomm drivers. There are more profiles here that Microsoft does not have.
Microsoft does not support Handsfree profile for Bluetooth handsfree which was a real pain for those still stuck on Microsoft drivers.
Besides, you can do anything with the Widcomm drivers that Microsoft can do.
First of all (but I am ot sure it comes from the widcom drivers) people hear me less well on my car kit with my Qtek 9090 than with my Qtek 2020.
Second of all (and I know it is not very important but it makes me nervous !!!) everytime the bluetooth is in use it switch on the phone. And when I make a phone call and hang it up I always switch off my phone like that it is safe in my pocket. But with the headset profile of the widcom you have to wait 5 seconds after you hang up to switch it off. Same thing when I enter my car the phone switch on when it pair with the car kit....Not realy a big deal but I wanted to try if it was possible with the microsoft drivers wich where on the Qtek 2020.
That's my reasons...
I solved my problem by only pairing the Qtek with my car kit and don't create a Headset profile. Like that when I am using my phone out of my car the phone is not trying to search for a bluetooth device and when I am in my car it recognize the Qtek and use it to place calls.
I AM NOW OFFICIALLY TOTALY IN LOVE WITH MY PHONE !!!
Hi,
I bought a Pioneer DEH-P70BT car stereo it has a internal BT carcit BUT my qtek 9090 is not compatible with the head, my other phone a Ericsson Z600 works without any problem
But my 9090 won't connect to the carkit in de radio
this is also stated in de compatibility list on the pioneer site
if anybody can solve this problem for me, witch give me the option to lose the Z600 again and go back to 1 phone
the pioneer has BT 1.0 and works ok with the qtek S100
pls help
regards John
Hi John,
I am going to order the Pioneer DEH-P70BT soon since my Jabra BT800 headset seems to be useless when I try to call hands-free (this headset is obviously not the best candidate for QTek9090 and people at PDAShop in Rotterdam had already warned me due to compatibly issues).
Anyway, I was searching on the web to see if there are any experiences with DEH-P70BT till I found a few reviews at http://www.kieskeurig.nl
Go here: http://www.kieskeurig.nl/review/96D5EED1A819DFD3C12570230044CEC9.htm and search for Qtek, be aware that despite the official statement of Pioneer (see compatibility list of phones: http://www.pioneer-eur.com/eur/compatibility_Web.pdf) people use this player with QTek9090.
kind regards,
- Avareh
Don't use the register function on the head unit, instead tell it to connect. Then go to the phone and add a BT device with the code 1111. It worked for me with a JAMin.
Regards
you ******* hero. That worked!
i wana know, the A2DP patch, is that only A2DP or AVRCP also included in the patch?
or would it be possible to make my XDA 2i work out all the AVRCP function of Nokia HS-12W BT handfree?
if yes, please list the nessuary softwares/patchs/conditions
many thanks
Mine does work just with A2DP patch and the latest TCPMP-player. Oh, and I have Jabra BT620s headset.
A2DP Patch
Hi Guys,
Could you direct me to the patch as I'd love to use headphone to listen to music and get rid of the cable.

Hi,
Have installed BT and seams to work for my keyboard and activesync. I will now think about getting a stereo headphone set something like Motorola H820 or Blueant X5.
However it seams I can only connect BT devices if the radio is on. There are times when I want the phone off but still be able to use BT.
Is there a setting I am missing or is this how the driver works.
Thanking in advance.
Gordon

Hello,
Recently received a new treo 750 to replace faulty unit (ear-phone speaker faulty). The new unit had WM6 installed, which doesn't work too well with bluetooth hands-free kit built into Range Rover.
Would like to downgrade to WM5 (as this work perfectly before) and would appreciate guidance on locating a vodafone or unbranded UK WM5 rom.
Thanks in advance,
