I want to flash my Dopod 838 from CHT to WWE (Eng). Can you tell me which provider ROM (RUU) is latest and fully support the 838 hardware such as Keyboard, WiFi and BT...? Thank you.

The Qtek RUU (2.17) is what I use on my Cingular 8125 (same as Dopod 838) so I imagine you should be good to go.

Why change keyboard code? It's not for same keyboard layout support? Is KJam better support 838 than Qtek? thanks
I was in Shanghai last week and picked up a Qtek 9100 that had a CHS rom on it. I didn't need a CHS device anymore so I flashed the QTEK with the latest Wizard/Cingular WWE ROM and it works fine. You should be able to go to the ftp site and download the latest QTEK 9100 WWE ROM that is posted and you should be good to go.

I am buying a Wizard (MDA Vario) for an Australian friend of mine that's coming over for a visit and naturally she wants the wizard in English.
However, I can easily (and very cheaply) get the Dutch version from T-Mobile in the Netherlands since I am renewing my partners contract.
So I guess I need to flash a new WWE rom onto the Dutch T-Mobile...
My questions:
I am aware of the WWE I-Mate Rom that you can download from the club I-Mate ftp site.
1. Is this a good rom - and will it work 100% problem free with the Dutch MDA Vario?
2. Are there any other or better alternatives? any links to other roms? maybe a T-Mobile UK rom or QTEK 9100? which WWE rom is considered the most stable and non sluggish?

I have a Dutch MDA myself.
Just flashed the Imate rom today with WWE.
Seems to work great.
No problems at all.
Qwerty keyboard is the same too.

But before I do I need to know if it can be flashed with an English (WWE) rom!?
I'm not an asian and I dont know the Chines language at all.
But the device looks so much cooler
Can I buy it and work with it here in Holland with an English Rom without problems?

I think when you flash it with another rom you can get G and B...

Just use the wizard unlock tool to unlock the CID, then to go clubimate ftp site to download the latest ROM update program and run it. That's all. Of coz you can backup you rom using some tools.
I don't have a 802.11g router so i can't confirm about the b and g thing. But i believe on the hardware side 838 and k-jam are the same.

Is it possible to flahs a Qtek9100 to Dopod838? If yes, where can get the Dopod838 upgrade files? I can't find those on FTP.

I knew from SIS Thailand Dopod distirbutor and it was annouced in Thai PDA web site www.pdamobiz.com.

all Dopod roms are on the ftp under Wizard/Roms/Dopod
They cannot be deleted by ordinary users.
I might be that someone deleted the rom you want while it was in the upload area.

no all the wizard with the latest update aku are almost the same like i mate qteck o2 and the rest are the same the only difference is extended rom wish every campagnie put his program inside for me the best original rom is qtek and imate .

Hello everyone. i need you gurus' help. My device is dopod C800 bought in Singapore. Thanks to the genius who created the hardspl, i have succesfully flashed my device with Herald shipped WM6 rom on yesterday. However, the issue now is i don't think that the Herald WM6 rom comes with a netwiz configuration file for Asia network. The worst is when i'm trying to install a netwiz released by dopod in Asia, i am not allowed to use this software due to license issue though i can install it. (Obviously internally my device is not a dopod set anymore because of the herald rom flashed). furthermore, the netwiz released on HTC Europe website is only European networks only.
is there anyone who has the same problem like me and can offer some help? thanks a million

My friend asked me to change UI language on his T-Mobile MDA Vario III from german to english. I think that I have to "upgrade" it to HTC WWE rom? The problem is that I cannot download rom upgrade from HTC.com, because this is T-Mobile device, and I don't have "HTC" S/N. But there is already some HTC rom in device:
