Did a clone restore on my BA. all ok. Then a few days later had to do it again - from the same clone image. This time I get:
On SR: ccSync Create ChgCap DB(RSGChgCaptr) err=52
followed by ccSync ERROR: failed to create database iMobile chgCaptr(52)
and on activeSyncing: DBTracker Open ChCap DB(RSGChgCaptr) err=2
Please can someone advise of a fix procedure.
Thanks
Correction to my original problem:
The errors are being generated by cclient - part of Intellisync which is the house enterprise tool to sync to the mobile Exchange server.
It seems that the app cannot create its DB and so cannot read/write to it. The trouble is I don't know where or what this DB should look like or ehat actually generates it.
Anyone got any experience of Intellisync Mobile suite 6.1?

Basically when i sync to exchange, they expect both the exchange server + client to have a valid ssl cert. We dont have, so during the WM2003, there is a file call disablecertcheck, that would disable the cert checking
so it will be able to sync without the cert but in WM5, i cant find the files yet, so i need to know is the file disablecertcheck out for WM5, + if it isnt, any patches / cabs / registrys i can change
i downloaded it http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...B8-8B3A-4F1D-8E94-530A67614DF1&displaylang=en
any updates on this issue ?
I never had luck with DisableCertChk. I found this posting awhile back and it was the most informative I've seen. http://jayseae.cxliv.org/2004/11/04/smartphone_activesync.html
What I did is search Google with "usercerts.msc site:microsoft.com". You'll see a TID referring to Pocket PC 2002, don't worry. Download the addroot cert which is actually ... http://download.microsoft.com/download/pocketpc/addroot/1.0/wce/en-us/addrootcert.exe. Export the certificate per Ethan's instructions from the first link, copy and install it to your device. I hope that this helps.

hi guys,
i tried the way as mentionned but, i get the following error
The security cert on the server is invalid. Contact your exchange server administrator or ISP to install a valid cert on the server
I assume you're running Exchange 2003? A perhaps even easier way is to open your OWA page with Internet Explorer and install the certificate on your PC when prompted. Then open Internet Options, Content, Certificates, Trusted Root Certification Authorites. Find your server's certificate and export to a DER encoded binary which you can install on your device. I always put my certificates on my SD card so's I can install easily whenever I upgrade my Pocket PC.... which is quite often ;-)
Luckily with WM5 I don't have to do that anymore!
If you need anymore help, just ask.
Steven
I tried this, but no luck. It still says that the certificate on the exchange server is invalid.
Hi all,
I have Kaisar. After upgrading to WM 6.1 (doesn't matter which rom - I had the same error code in every rom, cooked or official), I get the error code above when trying to sync with exhange server 2007. The sync stops, and my emails are not syncronised. I know that is has someting to do with the number of subfolders I have (like 50). See -

I would aprreciate any help.
Thanks.
anybody?
Please help.
Activesync error 0x80070008
Activesync error 0x80070008 might appears due to wrong registry entries and corrupted system files. Automatic scan of third party tool might be helpful to solve this error. various reasons of Windows error 0x80070008 that can be solve using effective steps of the software.
I have a freshly reset Tilt (factory ROM) and I"m using Direct Push to connect to an Exchange server.
I am unable to get a single java app to load. I keep getting the same message.
"... cannot be installed because critical information between the website and the application file does not match. - 31"
I have tried Opera Mini (latest release), Gmail (latest release), and MGMaps.
This is the same error I get whether or not I load from online or offline files.
I've used both Esmertec Jbed 20080428.2.1 and Cloudyfa_EsmertecJbed.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple. I read the midlet post in the General forum, but didn't see anything to helo with this issue.
I wonder if it's Direct Push/Exchange security policies? That seems to be the cause of every other issue I've had.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Heres a strange one.....
Just recently tried to sync my MDA Compact 4 and got the following error message:
"Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft ActiveSync Troubleshooter in Microsoft ActiveSync Help on your desktop computer."
On investigating further, i tried the following suggestions:
- Turned off all firewalls
- Removed partnership between phone and pc (on both the phone and pc)
- Unchecked "Enable advanced network functionality" in USB to PC settings on the phone
- Reinstalled Activesync 4.5 (and also a tried a repair)
- Different USB cable and USB port (not using a USB hub)
- Several soft reboots
and finally tried a different PC just to see if i could get a guest partnership! Guess what? Same error message.
I am, however, able to explore the phone with activesync but only explore. I cant change file names, add files or delete.
On even further investigation, i've now also discovered that i cant delete/ rename files on the phone itself (using file explorer on either the device or internal storage). When i do, i get the following message:
"Cannot remove/ rename etc: Access is denied.
Be certain that the folder/file is not write-protected and is not currently in use"
(Even creating a new folder and then immediately trying to delete it gives the same error)
If i connect the phone to the PC as a disk drive though, i am able to delete files just fine. Add new files, rename them etc....without any problems.
This leads me to believe that the problem is with Windows Mobile!?!
Has anyone else experienced the same/ similar problem and figured out how to fix it? (Other than perform a HARD reset/ Clearing the storage)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
UPDATE:
I found this on the Microsoft help forum.
Although it hasnt fixed my problem, it might help someone else who is having the same problem.
1) soft reset device
2) Start / Office Mobile / Word
3) Create a new document (click on New)
4) type some text (just plain text - no formatting - it was 'plain text document') just a few characters
5) File / Save As...
6) I have selected type 'Plain Text'
7) It asked me whether I want to save it at 'Word document instead' - I clicked No.
8) I have powered off the device and did soft reset
9) Start file explorer, find the file (it was in My Device / My Documents), click on it - it opens Word again.
10) Add some formatting (I have selected part of text and changed font to bold)
11) Close Word - it asked whether to save it in Word format - this time I said Yes
12) Power-off the device and press soft reset again
Also, i noticed that i am able to modify any DOCX or TXT file within Mobile Word (and even delete them) just not from File explorer on the device or Explore within ActiveSync.
Can anyone help???
Same problem with different model

You're not alone. I have HTC Touch Pro (ie. Raphael) with exactly the same problem and I've also already tried that "Word-solution" several times without any help. However I can synchronize with my exchance server via 3G. I can also add/remove/rename files if I use some of the Office mobile applications, but not with file explorer.
Getting sooooo frustrated, but still not willing to do the hard reset.
Do both of you by any chance have Fsecure Mobile installed? Just trying to narrow the cause for the problem.
Same Problem Here
I have a T-Mobile Wing and I'm having the exact same problem. Anyone figure out whats up yet? It's so strange that I can delete/remove files and folders through active sync, but I can't through the device file explorer. I have also tried creating a folder with the file explorer, but then I cant delete, move or rename it.
Here's something that might work for you, http://www.24hsoftware.com/How-To/this-device-is-restricted-from-downloading-this-file-type.html
Unfortunately it hasn't work on any devices that I've seen but then again, I'm still thinking that F-secure mobile is causing the problems in our devices. F-secure has confirmed that they have heard about the problem and are investigating it.
This is very interesting as in the past 24 hours my Xperia X1 has started to do the same, I can create files ok but am unable to remove/copy files.
I am using f-secure mobile security, so it would seem there is an issue there. I'll fire an email to them to get myself on a fix list when it comes out if that's the problem!!
Any news on this issue?
I am using a trial version of F-secure mobile (on my SE Xperia, a sort of HTC ). Now, out of the blue I am experiencing similar problems:
- not able to connect to pc via Active Sync
- not able to delete/rename/copy files on both internal as external memory
- programlist appears empty
Did anyone try to remove F-secure to solve the problem?
Thanks.
I just got a reply from F-secure. They have identified the problem and are expecting to release a new version of the client within next two weeks.
Hopefully that's the end of this...

Updated client was published on last friday.
I am experiencing a very similar problem on my HTC HD2 with wm6.5. If I connect the phone as USB mass storage i can copy files as much as I want to on the SD card, however when I disconnect the cable after copying WM6.5 cant read the folder sometimes.
Othertimes when I connect the phone as Activesync and start to copy some files, it stops half way through, sayign "access is denied". if that happens I cant transfer any files anymore, it will always give same error until some time passes, few disconnections, restarts, no consistency, no definite workaround. The strange is when it gets into this "access is denied" mode I can still browse the device (storage card) and create and delete folders. very-very frustrating.... did a few soft and hard resets, reinstalled activesync couple of times, still no joy...and i dont have any FW app on my device...
thanks.
Hi,
I tried to install garmin but i receive this error;
Error: Assert failed at gfx_buf.cpp : 152 in Garmin Mobile XT with error 0.
Does someone know a solution for this problem?
Plug ur htc to PC then install Garmin xt from PC. Hope this help
I've gotten weird errors like that and it seemed to be related to having it set to GPS Intermediate Driver instead of COM4.
For me, I was able to quickly go through the menus and change it to COM4, then it wouldn't crash.

Delete any text message on your phone and see if that fixes it. I know it sounds totally unrelated, but this sounds like the error I used to get, and the solution was to delete your text messages.
I was getting errors with Garmin XT after I used the GPS tweak cab that is going around that addresses the GPS "lag". I changed/deleted the keys in the registry that the cab changed/added back to the factory default and I have no crashes/errors.
Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I'm having the same problem - I haven't installed any GPS fixer utilities and deleting my text messages is something that I'd rather avoid. Any other ideas? I can't even get into the application to change anything before it crashes.
Which version of Garmin did u install? And from which site?
Or just try to re-install the appliaction
