Clock in new dutch rom is not at the upperright taskbar - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

version: 2.18.7.6 NLD
I want my old good clock in the upper right corner of my Qtek 9100
In the old rom it was no problem but the new rom there is a battery icon instead of my clock.
If i go to properties of the CLOCK i can apply the 'clock in every program on the titelbar display'
But that doens't work. The battery icon remains.
Anyone suggestions or is this a bug?

should work - for all screens except the Today screen. Though I never figured out if it just means the clock will be displayed as well as the battery icon, or that the battery icon is actually removed on all other screens.
Anyway, there's only a dozen or so pre-existing threads on this... this one seems aptly titled:

How to remove Battery icon ? ?

I've search hard for a solution, and know its been discussed, is there a way to remove the battery icon in the top right hand corner.
I prefer the smaller version in the bottom left hand corner which I've now added to my startup folder.
umm search bro.. there is a clock application that will cover it up
if you did'nt find it here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=45084
Fine work levenum
The app mentioned above and a few others is the only option. It's hard-coded into the OS in AKU 2.0, with no way to change it.
MS said that in AKU 2.2 and beyond a registry key will allow for changing the location.
....or use Wisbar Advanced 2, you get the clock back
Cheers
hrb
you don't get the clock back with Wisbar Advance - it just completely replaces the taskbar. It's like having birdpoop on your blue car, and instead of washing it off, you just paint your entire car red. Voila - birdpoop 'gone'.
Not dissing Wisbar Advance, btw.. it's a great tool, and cheap - but get it for its own merits, not just to get rid of the battery icon / get a clock.

Battery status in %

Hello,
since battery life of the S730 is not very long, i would like to see a more detailed battery information, that is available by just pressing one button.
I searched the internet for some application or tweak that does the trick, but no success.
I was thinking about a replacement for the normal battery icon that shows the status in percentage, also when recharging.
Another idea is to add the battery status in percentage in the information screen that you see when you unlock the keypad of the S730.
Does anybody know of an application or tweak for this?
Greetz,
Rob
Just install SmartMonitor plugin and a cool homescreen that uses it (here are a few : Cool Homescreens for S730)
I had to use SmartMonitor 0.9.5.1, because the latest (0.9.6.0) was giving me some input lag
I recommend bLifePlugin. Its a plugin for homescreen that displays battery %, battery life (number of hours until the batteries run out), and few other statistics. Its free and small.
I just use start>8(settings)>9(Power management). quick and easy enough.
Thanks guys, I'll check those apps and see what i'm going to use!
gr. Rob
I've been using SmartMonitor with a modified HTC Home screen - the attached homescreen puts the battery % below the bar icon, with the free RAM next to it. (I've also tweaked the calendar plugin and added Profile and MRU details)

Hi Madferret,
sounds great! I see there is a xml file in the zip. What do I have to do with that, to get it working?
gr. Rob
I already found out where to put the xml file, but it doesn't show battery status. I guess that is because I don't have smartmonitor. Could anyone post the cab file for smartmonitor?
gr. Rob
Et voilĂ
Regards
Thanks a lot! It works.
All this new functionality asks for a lot of tweaking!
I already tried to modify madferret's xml file to get rid of the 'profile' section of his home screen, but the s730 doesn't recognise the new xml file. I named it Rob.01.xml.
How do I get it to work?
Use crimson editor to edit your .xml file
http://www.crimsoneditor.com/
Regards
Still doesn't work. I opened the file from madferret with crimsoneditor and just modified the author and title and did save as "Rob.02.xml".
Then copied to \application data\home and tried to select it in the settings for the home screen. But it was nowhere to be found!
Anyone knows why?
Please help! Rob
Try this
Regards
I don't know what happened, but the things I did this afternoon and didn't work, do work now.
I guess it has to do with the computer at work.
I'm going to tweak the home screen I have now and I'm sure it's going to be a neat home screen for me. Maybe I'll post it some day!
thanks guys!
Sorry for the delay, I've been out of touch for the past week or so!
For a homescreen file to work the filename MUST end in .home.xml - you can put anything you like before that. Change your file to Rob.02.Home.xml and it should work. Also make sure it's in Application Data/Home. See http://tinyurl.com/47o4 for some info on homescreens (pre WM5 but still relevant).
I should also have mentioned that as well as the SmartMonitor plugin I also have the PtkslApptPlugIn running in place of the default calendar (it gives a scrolling display and always shows the next appt if you have nothing for the present day) - http://www.patricktrentsullivan.com/products.htm. All you need to do to revert is copy the original calendar plugin XML code from the default HTC.Home.xml to your file in place of my code.
@madferret:
the information from this thread helped me to tweak the homescreen, and now i'm quite pleased with the result. Thanks for the help. I am at my work now, and it is not possible to upload a screen shot. But now i have a battery meter at the top of the screen. It is the battery/memory meter I found in batt.htc.home.xml. Then the htc clock, without the message notification bar. Then comes the bar with small icons from the last used applications (rmu), which I also found in one of the homescreens posted here. Then comes the agenda from the homescreen from smartmonitor, which shows upcoming appointments better then the standard htc homescreen does.
All of this fills the complete 2.4" screen and I'm very pleased with it. A wysiwyg homescreen editor would have been helpfull, because I don't have a lot of time to spend on these things.
gr. Rob
Pleased to be of help
I thought the SmartMonitor home screen just uses the standard calendar plugin?
If you're looking for a WYSIWYG home screen editor there are a few out there but a lot are based on the 2003 version. I found a free one at www.madbeetle.com, useful for getting the basics covered.
is this with wm6 or what os? maybe at the wrong thread point me the rite way please>>>themes for wm6 or a very good generator>>>i have ms theme gen 2002

1% battery increments in top bar?

Just switching over from the Hermes world.
One recent addition to Hermes ROMs was the battery icon the top bar with granularity to 1%.
ie. take a look at the 1st pic in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2522625&postcount=1
some chefs made theirs with different colors, others were 100% white.
I know the Kaiser does 1% in the battery settings page, just wondering why I didn't see this top bar change getting cooked in to any Kaiser ROMs? Did it come and go already, or just not appeal to Kaiser folks?
Yes, I am well aware of other battery meters... like I said just curious about the cooked in battery icon.. small little perk that I miss from Hermes.
The 1 percent incraments is standard in the Kaiser (meaning nobody had to make an dlls to help make it). There are ways of showing the percent on the right, just have to find the right battery program to do it

If you're handy with reshacker, you can look here for a start.

I created a new battery meter for my Kaiser. It's not too hard. I would post it, but it's uses borrowed images and since I don't use phcanOverbmp, it may not be too helpful for many people.

Battety status indicator along the top of the taskbar?

My Excalibur has the battery indicator along the top 3 pixels of the screen. Any way to get that on my Kaiser?
I believe the program you are asking about is called Batti 2.1 by David Andrs
http://code.google.com/p/batti/
Looks like there is a 2.4 out, going to go grab it myself!!!

perfect. ya that was it. Thanks.
hehe, I actually just noticed that SPB Pocket Plus (that I was already using) actually has an even better bar style taskbar battery indicator, so I just uninstalled batti.

[Q] Removing the Clock and Battery Icons

Is there any way easily to get rid of the clock and the battery icon in the top status bar? Those are the only two i'd like to hide, because of Beautiful Widgets and BattStat there's no reason to have them up there anymore.
Thanks!

If you're using LauncherPro, you can hide the whole top taskbar. I don't know about just the clock and battery icons

I am using LaunchPro, but I do not want to hide the whole taskbar. Just the battery icon and time.

then tough luck for me then?
never mind
bump for any ideas..
I'd like to know this as well. It seems like it's a trivial thing to do with CyanogenMod + Spare Parts, and also supposedly easier with 2.2 (and who knows when we'll get that....).
I've seen a few hacks that basically move its position off the screen, but I was hoping for something a little more elegant than that.
For the battery icon, I just replaced it with one that's actually useful.
My googlefu seems to be failing me at the moment so I can't link you to that hack. It's somewhere on these forums though.
