Operator Code Problem - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Hey guys, when I use GetDeviceData, the DeviceData.txt file I get contains the following where my operator code should be:
AT%CID?
(OK, it's not coming out right as text, so I posted up an image)
This is not a HUGE issue, as I can still upgrade my phone just fine, but it is worrying me.
Any ideas, comments, answers?

Ignore device data now, it's useless. You could however check this invaluable list of Model ID so you can get your operator code

@TheLastOne
Been a long time.
I have seen a few posts about trashed OPID codes and have not been able to work out were they come from or why they come about.
With the MA_noid...exe the Country code problem sort of went and I have yet to find a reason why we need a OPID in the first place (bar to stop us loading roms from other carriers).
As A German MDAIII user I have been flashing my GER device with WWE roms too many times to count and they all have worked on my swiss carrier.

A problem gruuuuu. I can't fix with all tools

hi, everybody
I have a Wizard. But yesterday, when I turn on it, i see :" Data Crashes. Plese contact your service Center" with this title: "SIM LOCK" in the screen.
I used awizard, Lokiwiz to unlock it. But nothing at all
please help me
No body help me???? or not have solution to fix this prolem?
try to start it over without a sim-card....what happens...!?
it's oke and I can use it same a pocket.
I am experiencing the same issue. Did anyone find a solution to this? No matter what I use Lockwiz etc... It still wont work. Pls Help
Thx
Beside you is possible violated area CID.In the field of CID is found SIM and CID lock. The Area CID -unique for each device .Lokiwiz -does not calculate new this area -he only modernizes given in this area.
This inscription appeared After what action?
p.s.
There is command In bootloader which destroys the area CID and others.
Check Your IMEI.If IMEI does not coincide -possible you have started this command.
how can solve it?

I unsure that you this will help - but when I on C500 has deleted the area CID and got such message - I have restored only with the help of unlock http://www.imei-check.co.uk/ imei-check -anew calculates the area CID - unlock works through bootloader and so he does not modernize but anew calculates this area.
Try to talk with itsme in this forum -he has said that possible to calculate the new area CID -but has not described as.
p.s In Typhoon C500 and Wizard is used alike method SIM and CID blocking.
But aside from this unlock changes bootloader

WOW worked like a charm! Thanks I thought I had a brick!
I hope that this will help you.
I met several times like you situation on Wizard -but nobody did not describe after what action this has occurred.
It is Enough that 1 byte changed in the field of CID and she will be bad.
Possible during unlock or as a result other action (for instance action what other program ) has occurred the malfunction and something have changed this area.
Given area is not changed during flash ROM.

not solution to fix this problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I can report that paying for this software and running it on my MDA fixed the data crashes problem. I tried everything I could find on the web from using the lokiwiz02b and going back to the original rom... everything in every order I could think of. I flashed back to the original ROM which I downloaded from HTC America's site w/o the SIM in the phone, ran this software after shelling out 40 bucks, once it came back up I shut down, put my SIM in, booted and sure enough it worked.
Here is how I got in this position. I had a warranty replacement phone from a bad screen that kept getting out of calibration. I put my SIM and MINISD in and powered it on. I flashed to the 2.17 custom rom. It rebooted and I got the data crashes error.
Of course this is no guarantee. I see above where someone posted that it didnt fix their problem.
I just flashed up to the 2.21 custom rom and everything works fine.
I noticed after I started all this BS that there are two bad pixels on the replacement phone! SOB!
it worked for me too. but why does this happen in the first place? I only got this error from one of the two MDA's that I have flashed, the other one worked just fine.....
My screen died as well, got a replacement in. Blam drashed as well.
Ran all the loki stuff, and it IS the IMEI that causes it. Used this unlocker program, and it does work. I am on 2.17 now and about to load 2.21.
This is my last resort...
I tried every possible solution to solve this same issue and I am going to shell out the cash, but my problem is that I can't get my IMEI from my phone (#06#) like the imei-check website said to without my SIM in there. But with the SIM in there I can't type #06#. So how did everyone get their IMEI? Should I just use the number on the box, and just pray that it is the same as my phone?
Thanks

Garbled Operator (Country ID) Output from GetDeviceData.exe

Hey all-
I'm a bit stuck on the first step on upgrading to Tuma's new ROM. I've previously upgraded this device to WM 5 Build 14343. When I run GetDeviceData.exe the output is ok for the Device Code and Language but the Operator (Country ID) is a bunch of high ascii characters... (I would post the output but phpBB won't display it properly and I'm getting a dbase error when adding an attachment). :?
My carrier here in the Bay Area is Cingular.
Do I need the proper Operator code?
Thanks!

Same thing happened to me with my Cingular SX 66. I ended up just giving up.
You just gave up on the upgrade?
I have a few others of these devices in my office, so I might try it on a device that hasn't been upgraded to see what the output was...
I'll let you know if I get a good output from one of these other devices...
-tempie23
Found the solution... just upgrade and it worked!
Operator (Country Code) = AT%CID?
Confirmed Working for Cingular US Service
-tempie23
I had the same error.
I decided to continue anyway and I was able to install TuMa v1.3 with no problems at all
in fact, I don't even understand what this is for...

Has something chaned my IMEI number?

Bit of a vague question, I know!!
Yesterday, I tried to register a pay as you go sim card to my TyTN II, but the automated registration process would not accept my IMEI number. After several failed attempts, I had to get hold of another phone, and register using that IMEI number. However, when I compared the 2 IMEI numbers afterwards, my TyTN one had an extra 2 digits. So I checked it against the original box, which also has a different IMEI number, as the phone had been replaced under warranty, but that also had 2 less numbers than my actual phone.
Now I'm not really sure what I have done to my phone, but everything I have done came from here. I haven't touched it for about 3 or 4 months, as I was happy with the way it was. It was a UK Orange TyTn II, which I unlocked, hardspl'ed and upgraded to wm6.1, all from here. I think I used something from olipro, and the rom was a stock voda one, and not one of the cooked ones. I seem to remember reading that maybe the unlocking, or the hardspl'ing could do this? What, if anything, can I do about this now? I'd like to change it back if possible? Thanks.
The sticker under your battery will have a 15 digit IMEI number. If you check your IMEI in Windows by doing *#06#, you will see a 17 digit IMEI number. As long as the first 15 numbers match the sticker under the battery, then you're fine.
Thanks. Panic over? I think?
Yes, the imei number behind the battery matches what is displayed by the phone, except the phone adds 01 onto the end? Is this normal?

is lMEl changing possible for this PDA ? if possible how to ?
I'm pretty sure this not the appropriate place to discuss changing you IMEI number. It's illegal and unscrupulous. I'm pretty sure the moderators of this forum would deffinetly not want to see this post.
My problem is solved (thanks everyone ) so happy for this to be locked, if required.
IMEI
IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is not something easy to change
ur first 15 characters matches - so u r fine
... and just for the reference:
back in the days, when I still had my hermes, I've managed somehow to wipe it's imei through flashing roms. don't ask me how it is possible, but when I went to settings/system/device information/hardware the imei field was blank.
never had a chance to test it, but I believe that it may be the cause of my further problems with it. that device was constantly connecting for like up to 5 sec. to the network, then out of a sudden connection was dropped for some time. dunno. other thing is, that it radio could be faulty after a drop.
whatever....
imei # changes after providers customization?
I noticed after using a direct from factory (htc repair center) phone that if you stop the mobile providers freeware bloatware from running that my imei # did not match my sticker (was 17 not 15 digits long) so I ran a search found this thread. like the original poster we were both concerned with not having matching imei's, I didnt want to send my phone back to htc. I panicked and posted before reading the entire thread. I was not and am not interested in hacking my IMEI was just worried that it shipped out wrong.
I didnt want to delete my post afterward so instead pointed out that Im a putz and that Notatreofan answered the original posters concerns as well as my own.
thanks again for leaving these old threads around they do help?

Yes, changing IMEI numbers is possible - but mostly only necessary for low life thieving scum - also illegal in most countries.
No one on this forum will tell you how to do it - pursuing the question will probably get you banned - pursuing the solution might also get you jailed.
you better check on the date of the post you are replying to... silly little boy...
Bumping an old thread is just bollocks...
I'll just add that the last two digits are the SVN (Software Version Number) that's all.

Solution to problems sending sms

Some modern SIM cards use automatic SMSC, so the SMSC is NOT stored on the sim as delivered from the provider.
HTC Touch Diamond/WM6 can't handle this.
Unfortunately the interface does not allow you to set it (incorrectly reports network error)
Here is a workaround for different OSs, let's start with WP6:
1) Download the nice tool ATcommander from this thread
Url: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2715738
2) Unfold exe to the phone
3) Run the exe on the phone
Enter
AT+CSCA?Click send, verify that the number is not set or incorrect
Enter (substitute your providers SMSC, +4540390999 is danish TDC)
AT+CSCA="+4540390999",145Click send
(145 indicattes international number, see se eg http://www.developershome.com/sms/cscaCommand.asp)
4)
Boot it, and enjoy!
ADDENDUM I:
In below posts different syntaxes has been reported as needed for other (early Android) phones. Like:
AT+CSCA="004540390999" (no type and country code indicated by 00 not +)
AT+CSCA="40390999" (no type, and no country code)
Please try to see what works for the chipset and OS of your phone
ADDENDUM II:
For Androids like the Xperia 2011 phones (at least it works with 2.3.4) you can access the SMSC setting with a build in function.
In the dialer enter
*#*#4636*#*# (4636="INFO")select "Phone information"
Scroll down to SMSC and click "Refresh"
You will see an entry (including the quotes) like
"+4531300040",145for 3.dk in Denmark
And you can edit/enter the SMSC as needed and press Update
As you might have noticed, the format is identical to the "AT+CSCA" parameters above, so it is most likely just a nice wrapping.
Best Regards
Eske Rahn
PS this problem has apperantly been around for years, so the problem is most likely WM not HTC.
see e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-242938.html
That describes exactly the same error I got
ER
PPS Keywords, the errormessage:
"Try viewing settings later, or disconnect data connection and try again"
ER
Thank yo very much it worked for me just fine.
I had a problem with my new Xperia x1 and 3G sim from Saudi Arabia telecom Co.
The problem was unability to send SMS messages while I can receive them and sim cannot read sms network settings as well.
WITH YOUR WORKAROUND SOLUTION, I was able to resolve this trouble so, many thanks again and again.
I have HTC HD and had the same issue. About two months I have looked for solution for this problem.
And finally I got it ... here
Thank You so much eske.rahn !!!
Hi, not sure if this is the correct thread for this so sorry if i'm wrong. Have an SMS problem on my phone which is kinda similar to this. I can't send sms messages!!! They just sit in the outbox.
I have a mda IV which is unlocked and am using an O2 sim on it. Everything works great except that now and then I can't send SMS (texts), can receive them ok but not send. Tried my sim in other phones and works ok. Tried other sims in my phone and they don't work either. Also tried soft/hard reset. Have the correct number in the SMS settings and my phone registers on the network ok.
Anyone help please???????
update: i now haven't been able to send a text for 2 days. I don't get any error messages when i try and send.

Sorry for the late reaction, haven't reviewed this thread for ages...
This does indeed sound like the same problem. Can you see/change your SMSC?
If you already have the correct number entered as SMSC the workaround described will not help. The SMSC is provider dependant. There are many lists 'out there' with SMSC's. So google "SMSC" and your providers name, this should provide you with the correct number.

He he, I too wasted a lot of time searching to no avail, until I remembered that this used to be an issue on my old phones a decade ago.
Thanks for this - worked first try on my Diamond which was OK untill I flashed a new ROM (Natalay 2.100). When I tried to check the message centre number I got the cannot read error. It would read other sim cards and another phone could read my sim card (an Orange 3G sim). I tried changing the radio several times and was about to get a new sim card as it was the only other solution I could find that had worked for other people. I can now read the message centre number OK.
I love XDA comunity!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks it worked
big thanks finally my xperia works as it should
really thanx man it helped .... i've been searching for over 6 month for a way i could change by it the message center
Still doesn't work for me, when i'm on andriod..
it didnt worked for me !!!
I'm from romania ..i own a htc diamond and i just did what you told me to do with AT comannder
it went well until i had to send at+csca = "the number it showed",145
and it gives me an error....
i have tried in so mani ways.. even the => start/settings/phone/band
im finding hard to believe that i can't do anything !
Thank you for your time...and hope that someone comes up with a solucion!
thx for this very useful topic. Solved my problem in seconds...
Just to note that for Android this didn't work for me until I changed the number to remove the + sign and substitute 00. Also removed the ,145 at the end.
So, for example:
AT+CSCA="+31653131313",145
Would become:
AT+CSCA="0031653131313"
Not sure if this is the case in all builds, but it certainly fixed mine. The SMS in WM still works with this change, so no harm done.
thanks you are very helpfull
For Vodafone AU the SMSC was stored on the SIM but in +61... format, I alo had to change it to a local only number using:
AT+CSCA="0415011501"
WM still works and Android now works after that. Hopefully I don't need to go overseas for a while...
Thanks its work, with my HTC Diamond and Indosat simcard,
Thx you....
thanks very much! spent many hours hard resetting, talking to my service provider, etc. this finally works.
hi,
i face similar problems with htc diamond, wm6 & nataly rom. sometimes i do not receive some sms. i dont have a problem in the outgoing messages. only in the incoming. any help ?
Happy
I'm glad to see that it had helped people.
And sorry for the delayed reaction, been out of this forum for a few years...
But yes markzb, the implementation of AT-commands of the 'modem' might vary slightly. Thanks for the input on what syntax other phones accepts *ThumbsUp*. I'm not sure if it is an OS or chipset difference, but I would guess chipset...

[Q] Network messages coming through in Chinese and invid MMI codes

I've recently left my i9100 for an i9305 and decided to start by flashing the equivalent to my favourite ROM from my S2, namely SlimSaber (SlimKat unoffical build with Saber Mod) from here (build 8.0).
Anyway, regrettably i never tested out the phone much with the stock software because i wanted to go strait back to the KitKat experience I'm used to. I did however unlock the phone using USSD code *#19732864# as outlined in method 3 here. I believe I followed it exactly and it worked without a hitch
With it unlocked i put in my GiffGaff SIM and the first thing I noticed was that after every text, instead of getting the regular message saying "woohoo that text was free" or relevant credit update, i just get a similar box with a load of Chinese text.
Then I realised that the proximity sensor doesn't work. I don't mean to go specifically into that problem in this thread but while researching a fix I came across some USSD codes that might help. Now I can get a few to work: *#06# to show my IMEI , *#31# (Checks outgoing caller ID settings) and *#*#4636#*#* (User statistics and Phone Info), but all others I've tried just give me "Running USSD Code" and then "Connection problem or invalid MMI Code". This includes the one I unlocked my phone with in the first place and all the ones that are supposed to help my problem. A couple of the codes (*#526# and *#528#, both for WLAN Engineering Mode) yielding more Chinese text in place of the second message. I've tried putting a coma or semi-colon after the codes to no avail.
I presume that the network messages run on the same system as USSD/MMI and that the problems are connected. Not sure if the proximity sensor issue is connected.
The fact that a code worked before, but then stopped working seems to imply that it was something to do with flashing the ROM. Can anyone confirm that custom ROMs can mess with your USSD codes? Or could the unlock process have changed something? I've tried different kernels but the problem persists. Does anyone know at what firmware level native USSD codes are defined?
Many thanks for any input.
Chinese Gibberish
In case anyone's interested i took a screen shot of the Chinese text and put it through an optical character recognition web site. This is what came out after "Processing USSD code" for *#528# :
口秀一鼬一儡公囿一 找偎偎鬟醋蝌找阡醋份一
Which Google takes as:
Mouth of a puppet show, a male ferret caught a cuddle cuddle find DW vinegar vinegar a tadpole to find a footpath
Not very meaningful but at least quite amusing.
Then where I'd normally get "woohoo that text was free", instead it reads:
囿架架栀架蘖 王含栀揪王含 王含攀砀王含 目月T秋窃沙 昀
煸攀攀 嚣架甄蹴 想锹重毛锹瀵振攀 惋渺 彗沙王含惋蔓毛翼毛
Or:
Caught rack rack rack tiller Wang Zhi Zhi pulling containing containing Wang Wang Wang Dang containing climb mesh containing sand Yun month T autumn burglary
Well despite the problems with online translation it seems like this really is pure nonsense, which at least suggests to me that this is probably some kind of data that was never meant to be interpreted as Chinese text rather than the product of an incorrect language setting somewhere. Might be wrong.
Cheers
Wrong forum, ask a moderator to move it to i9305 q&a.
Chinese sorted
Right, Chinese gibberish was sorted by flashing updated modem from here as detailed here. However I am still suffering from invalid MMIs.
I should point out that I've tried all the methods outlined here. For anyone wondering how to get a comma or semi-colon on the dialer, add two-sec pause or wait respectively from options in the bottom right corner.
