R NONE?? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

R NONE
G NONE
D 5.03.02 WWE
Sometimes when I restart my BA I get the weird R NONE version number... The phone module does not work until I keep hitting the reset button a couple of times till it shows a regular version... Any ideas why does it happen?
Another thing is that this morning my RADIO unit did not work at all - 'Phone not ready, please wait 15 seconds and try again' Windows said. When I enabled WiFi - the unit died, rebooted, died, rebooted, and so on (had to do the hard reset).

I have this problem only when i change sim card, and it fixes only with pushing the reset button with stylus, as fas as i know this problem can not be fixed. When i read your post your problem seems to be another one which i haven seen before, try to reflash your radio rom, this may help

I just did the upgrade - it works. For now, at least...

First off ... have the "R NONE / G NONE" appear after changing the SIM and/or battery is relatively common. My phone does the same thing.
This is due to the GSM radio taking longer to 'cold boot' than the bootloader is giving it time for. Simply let it get a few seconds into the boot (before it starts loading the OS & redraws the screen). Then, hit the 'reset' hole once ... and everything will boot fine from then on.

can somebody upload somewhere downloadable the new radio (1.15) cuz the ftp does not work at all

My OS is 5.60 (5.2.1620 from Helmi) and the radio is 1.15.

xda iis upgrade to wm 6.1 explode
after upgrading to wm6.1 explode my xda iis has problem with the video cam...can't play after taking the video in the preview...help me....and the wlan is bad
it´s a problem with the camera app.
it crashed when you record movies in a special format. (i think it was .mpeg)
OK, having the same issue from time to time, and had it on other devices too...
Anyone any idea why it behaves like that?
I think (but not sure) it only happens when not using the 'normal' rom/boot loader... As far as I know (but that only stayed for an hour or so, just checking the basic functions) it didn't happen on the original rom...

WTF, My Kaiser has gone CRAZY and hung itself???

Hi,
In the past couple of weeks, i have had to perform a number of soft resets as my Kaiser was hanging. I didnt think much of it, putting it down to probably low memory.
However today it hung again whilst in IE and so i did a soft reset. Then it would boot only to the 'smart mobility' screen showing
R 1.27.12.11
G 22.45.88.07H
D 1.81.00.00
I started to get worried as it would not proceed past that screen. I tried several more soft resets and then decided to remove my 2gb microSD card, which helped it boot to WM6.
It would not show that the phone was connected to the network although the wifi was connected ok. I tried disabling the phone in the comm manager but that made no difference.
I then removed the SIM and it recognised that it was missing and shut down in 10 seconds.
I re-insterted the sim, but it still saw no network.
Then a number of other errors came up, such as quickdial.exe is missing, as well as a few others.
When i inserted the MicroSD back in it started to load and most recently 'should we disable phone alarm' at next start. Which i could not click as it had hung again.
Now, with or without the MicroSD or Sim it is back hanging at the 'smart mobility screen' again.
What should i do?
Thanks

First thing in such cases is a hardreset.
Yep, just doing that as you posted.
I really wanted to avoid doing that though.
Well, its done now, and now to re-install everything.
What do you thing was the fault? or cause for the hang ups.

Some software or setting you've done, or it was simply Murphys Law:
When the mistake could happen, it will happen
Should i upgrade the radio at this point?
Its like with PCs, u need to reinstall your operation system from time to time.
Hei all,
My Kaiser just the other night did something very strange and has not been able to fix it.
I turned it on, it booted right through then just like a stuck button it started to cycle through most programs starting and closing. The search engine starts up then it starts to write mmmmn.nmnm.mnnm. eee. and then stops .... ok this is just a few of the things it does.
Ok first I have soft booted and the same thing ... then I tried a hard reset ... guess what it will not hard reset. Yes two soft keys with the soft reset pushed in ..... but nothing!
Is there any other way to do a hard reset. I have no clue what is happening??
Thanks for the help!
Chris
Well guess what ..... after two days of trying to hard reset it finally worked .... perseverance ..... I guess fat fingers

Hi:
You can go into start/settings/system/clear storage. That will hard reset your device.
EDIT: Oops, sorry I missed your last line. Please disregard my post

Tilt reboots constantly after 6.1 upgrade

I have an At&T Tilt. the phone worked absolutely fine until I decided to do the 6.1 upgrade on it. Now the phone reboots itself on it's own. Let me clarify that statement. It shuts the phone off, then I have to power it back on. Sometimes a few times in a row. It will do it when I am talking on the phone, using my GPS or browsing the mobile web. It doesn't discriminate. Has anyone else had this problem? These are the versions I have on my phone... am I missing an update somewhere or is this something I have to live with? Thanks for your help.
R 1.65.21.18
G 25.88.40.05H
D 3.57.00.00
l haven't had any problems like that. I just switched back everything on my phone to stock . but than again i went all the way back to wm6 ... lol
If your phone is still under warranty just get an exchange or try reflashing the rom upgrade and see if that fixes your problem.
also on a note: did you remember to hard reset your phone after upgrade?
upgrade
I will try to re-install the upgrade. I did do a hard reset afterwards the first time. It's pretty annoying for my wife (amusing to me) when she calls and our call drops in the middle of our conversation. Hopefully the reinstall will fix this. I'll keep you posted.
Did this get resolved? I am having the same issues...
I am having this issue on 2 phones. One was a 6.0 tilt that I upgraded (and hard reset after). The other is a 6.1 phone that I was sent from At&t after an RMA. They both reboot 5-10 times a day, or sometimes they turn off and won't come back until I plug them in. Any ideas?
One more thing to add here. Did you install a WM6.1 ROM or did you install a ROM/Radio Combo?
Just note that 6.0 radios will never play nice with 6.1 roms
Also, what spl are you using ? Stock oem?
by any chance do u have a memory card in the device. if so remove it and use the reset button to boot it. this may very solve the problem. I've experienced it
My tilt did this also. I found that it was due to HTC home customizer. It took about 20 hard resets to figure it out tho. After installin HHC the phone would reboot over and over again. I reinstalled everything over except for HHC and working fine now.

uh oh! not looking good..

So, my Kaiser is getting old now. It's been back for repair 4 times now and it still didn't work properly (inital problem was no network, they fixed that but now it doesn't read memory cards!)
I've been running custom ROMs the whole time I've had the phone and it's been fine, until the last week it's been really funny and everything has been gradually coming to a halt. Opera/IE are very unresponsive, then other things, then activesync wouldn't work!
Got it flashed to a different ROM after a load of hassle and it'd boot up, then do the customization bit then it'd restart. It'd work for a little while until something would make it freeze - I'd do a soft-reset and it'd hard-reset itself and take me to the touch configuration bit.
If I soft reset it after that, it just gets stuck on the screen at the start, which says:
R 1.70.18.02
G 25.83.40.02H
D 3.TPCElite
Can anyone offer any advice? I've noticed the M and E keys are starting to get very unresponsive too and I'm getting more and more tempted to give up on this phone
Thanks
I've hopefully found the solution here:

Please read the F.A.Q for ROMs as wouldn't even need to have searched or make a new thread.

G: None, r: None

Hello dear XDA members,
after flashing a WM6.x to my blue angel I sometimes get the following boot error:
R NONE
G NONE
D WM6.x
However, when I remove the battery long enough for the reserve battery to get empty (say, over night), then everything seems to be okay on the next boot and I get what I normally should:
R 1.13.00
G 1337.42
D WM6.x
I have now had this error on 3 different devices using 3 different windows mobile ROMs (all from d-two, 2 german ones and one wwe). It doesn't occur always, but in round about 75% of bootups.
Does anyone know something about this?
that is a common error that happens with all cooked roms.
while running wm2003, pressing reset or removing the battery for a second was basicly the same: it did a soft reset.
but on cooked roms there is a significant difference, while resetting using the proper pin performs an actual soft reset, removing the battery causes the device to boot without radio, which in most roms means, not boot at all. whenever you see R:NONE while booting, just press reset and let it boot again, that time it should show the numbers.
So far working perfect.
Thank you very much.
