Hi Guys
Is there a wireless scanner like " Netstumbler " or something that works on the iMate PDA2. :?:
We have a few wireless networks set up in our town and it would be nice to be able to see what coverage we are getting.
Thanking u in advance.
Wi-fi-fo-fum is my favourite, even has a radar screen that works with your gps if you have it.

Hi - I have been reading through the forum and I can see I can flash my p3600 with the new dopod rom to enable GPS . I just haven't picked up the courage to do it yet !!
What are the main differences (apart from the GPS) ?.........
Is the dopod a basic blue theme rather than the HTC green ?? Can someone upload some picture of the phone and the comm manager ??
Is there any other differences ?? I have spend quite a while getting an exchange server setup for push email to my phone, I presume this will still work with the new rom ?
Can I revert back to the HTC rom if I don't like it ? Should I make a backup of the current image before I flash the new one ??
Thanks
Some differences
From what I have seen, there are some minor differences. the HTC "green" theme is not there, and there it a DOPOD specific theme instead. The comm manager is a difference colour, but the same functionaility. The Dopod rom also comes with "Voice Controller" software, and something called "CAM Agent".
Apart from that, no other difference I can see, apart from the GPS working!

post more impressions for GPS please
GPS after upgrade...
GPS works well for me. I'm using it with the TomTom navigator 6 software. Simple to configure, picked up a signal in under minute and so far seems to maintain around 3-6 satellites. It picked up satellite signals in the car, and even occasionally indoors!

Please can you tell me if there is the option to connect through WPA2 Cisco Leap protocol in the wifi features?
Thanks in advance
WPA2
Well, there is an option to connect to wireless networks using the WPA2 authentication (amongst others), but I don't know if that is "Cisco LEAP" specific.

When u add a wifi lan, u can choose WPA2 AES. In the next page there should be a pop up menu with EAP TYPE. If Leap is not supported u should see only the choice "PEAP" or "Smartcard".
Would you try and let me know?
Thank you very much for your help
Thanks all for your imput !
Any chance of a few screen shots of the phone page amd the commanager ??

No.. you can only chose between PEAP and Smartcard with dopod rom
Speed difference?
Any noticeable increase in video playback speed with this new ROM?
And what about during gameplay?
Has the touch screen slowdown issue been resolved?

Hi folks
Just moved on to the Tilt from my trusty wizard 100.
all is good except that unlike the wizard the tilt does not turn off the radio after a program request and uses it.
Example my weather program updates at certain times of the day - it normally would fire up the radio (EDGE or GPRS) and when it is done it disconnects..and all is good.
The tilt does not want to do this... Pesky really as when I awoke this morning It had been on for 6-7 hrs or more.. bummer anyone know of an app or a setting????
Cheers
Bob

If you are looking to shut off the EDGE Connection after use then use KaiserTweak(its in my signature)

Thanks for that I'll give it a try
use a proxy
inactivity when using a proxy server for few minutes disconnects your 3G or Edge so your data disconnects when not needed. you can try that.
kaisertweak ftw?
How on earth do you turn it off for good until switched back on. My orange is connecting with gprs and you have to go up to the title bar to turn it off how do i make it so GPRS dose not or will never work until switched on.
Step by step please
Thanks in Advance.
Bump!! Anyone?? Just got billed lots.
Try forcing the phone to use gsm mode only...should be in the network settings.
..and hopefully a registry tweak will show up in the future.
i am not sure what are you asking for.
try this out: http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility/

you are welcome. this utility is quite well-known for the community in this forum. it's proven to be working. for most of us, we have unlimited local GPRS plan. we don't care the GPRS usage report by SPB GPRS, so we seldom install it. Instead, we more perfer the small NoData utility.
Hi all,
I am trying to pair my Diamond with a TomTom 730T. I can get everything working except the wireless data connection. No matter what settings I chose it just fails - also at this point my Diamond freaks and will no longer connect to GRPS/3G until I soft reset it. Anyone had any luck with any of the GO X30 devices???
Thanks, Rich

I found it only worked with go 530T when I had a 3G signal, would not do the wireless pair when on 2G for some reason. TomTom Support = as good as chocolate teapot [and rude!]
Hi!
Has anyone tried to do geocaching with Diamond2 GPS? Anyone knows if static navigation can be disabled?

I'm gonna get my TD2 tomorow morning.
I think it should work with the right app.
I'll post my findings here.
Grtz, mayen
some news? static navigation possible? does it show low speeds about 2km/h and updates small changes of coordinates when walking ? someone tried geocaching?
im thinking up buying it if it is usable for geocaching.
thx & greetings
bubbas
I use mine to do geocaching using MemoryMap works great
Geocaching software
I didn't use my TD2 for geocaching yet...
But i allready installed some apps:
GCz (for Geocaching) for WM5/WM6 (freeware)
and
VITO Navigator II 1.33 (shareware)
They both work good on my TD2.
Another thumbs up for GCz here. I have been using It and it works great, quick and easy to use.
so you switched static navigation off? does it show very low speeds and when u walk around slowly?
thanks for your responses!
greetings
bubbas
I already got my TD2! I tried BeeLineGPS and the results were great as opposed to my experiments with a Touch 3G. Low speed and small distances are now detected.
Seems like this device is ready for some serious geocaching
thank you very much for your response! i'll be soon with td2 on geocaching tour then
GCz is a great app but I can't get it to work with my TD2 on a 3G connection. It works fine at home on WiFi.
Anyone else have this problem?

The message I'm getting at the moment is "Cache not found", previously I was getting the error "Internet open url failed", but this is when my connection wasn't working in any application.
It's strange as I can use the 3G/HSDPA connection in other apps without issue and when I switch back to WiFi GCz works a treat.
GCz proxy

I'm not sure if this is the solutium, but it's worth trying :
GCz uses a proxyserver: Menu> Option> Proxy Setting
Try unchecking "Use Proxy", or use your own / another proxy.
just wondering if you guys can help
i get the error message
COM port open failed
[COM0: 4800]
any ideas?
The GPS on the TD2 is on COM4, not COM0, so you need to configure your app for the correct port.
Filbert
Thnaks mate that's done the trick
I found a very nice freeware geocaching application ... its optimized for touchscreen and has many features, although still in development:
http://www.getcachebox.net/_index.html
Looks nice on D2, but still didn't try it in the field.
Thought could be intresting for some other people ...
