I figured it out!
I went to a blank computer and installed the T-Mobile Apps from scratch then the first thing I did after the reboot from the ActiveSync install...was rand the ROM upgrader (CUSTOM_RUU_Prodigy_2170702_217_20710_TMO_US.exe)
....PRESTO.....
What I saw was the driver used when the phone goes into the Boot Loader screen (RED, GREEN, BLUE). It stated "USB Device" as the driver was loading in Windows XP...after it stated device ready to be used....it started!
I would suggest unistalling ActiveSync and reinstalling it from the T-Mobile Disc....this should work!
PM me if you have any problems.
Hi, I had this same problem after a bad flash. couldn't get ActiveSync to connect, Thought phone was F***ed, Got it going again tho
What I did was search the forun for file mtty
1) download and run. Must turn off A/S connect via usb first
2) When mtty rund it asks for a port. Select usb
3) Click ok, press enter on next screen then type "SET 14 0" press enter
4) Close this program and re enable A/S connect via usb
5) Re Flash with Rom File and it all went ok for me.
Note all my phone would do when Reset (Hard or Soft) was give the three colour screen

Hi,
Please help. I was trying to upgrade to WM5 (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_5.1.1700_build_14343_Upgrade). I'm currently at step #10 but it seemed to have frozed. I left it up overnight and nothing occured. My PDA2k is now "dead." I tried soft and hard reset, removed it from the cradle. I tried all options listed below...still no luck.
****************************
If nothing has changed or happened in about 10 minutes, try this:
1. Make sure your device or cradle is connected directly to your computer (so no hubs!)
2. Disconnect the device from the PC, or remove from cradle
3. Perform a "hard reset" on the device (screen will flicker but nothing will change)
4. Kill the BaUpgradeUt.exe program on your PC by using Window's Task Manager (CRTL+ALT+DEL)
5. Kill the wcesscom.exe program on your PC by using Window's Task Manager (this is the ActiveSync application)
6. Place the device back in it's cradle
7. Restart the upgrade program from your PC (double-click BaUpgradeUt.exe)
****************************
Please let me know what else can I do?
Thanks in advance.
I'm answering my own question.
I re-loaded the old rom from www.imate.com. Took an hour rest, re-installed ActiveSync 3.7, works perfectly (WM2003).
Hi,
Can anybody please help me with this proble,
I am freaking.
I bought the phone SX 66 (Cingular) a week back and thought will download some cool things in the weekend.
I thought of upgrading the Rom.
The sequnce was confusing.
So I downloaded BAUpgradeUt file , EntelBL, GetDeviceDte, HTCRUU.DLLHTCRUU.cnf and xda3nbftool files on to a temp folder.
I guess I executed the BAUpgradeUt file (with Activesync on) and the phone was on the cradle connected to my laptop.
It restarted and went to a mode where the screen started showing USB v2.07
I removed the battery and tried restarting by pressing the power button, it showed serial V2.07 (as it was not connected to the cradle)
I waited for the battery to dry down but nothing is happening.
Now when i connect it back to cradle, it says USB V2.07
I am really worried.
Its a little difficult to understand fro the XDA forums, so can anyone help me step by step on how to fix this.
I mean which file do i need to execute.
Should i disconnect anything?
Pls explain in detail as i will miss out again and dont want to loose this.
I have unlocked this successfully erlier
Awaiting the earliest reverts
Thanks
Abhi

1. Download mtty v1.42 from http://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/mtty1.42.rar
2. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete)
kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe
3. put your device into the cradle
4. Run mtty (from downloaded) Choose WCEUSBSH001
5. type "set 14 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.
6. type "task 28" to get your device formatted
7. type "task 0" to ask your device reboot
8. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.
good luck.
Hi Midget, Thank you for the patience and being there.
I am sorry but I am still stuck with this.
Like mentioned by you,
1. downloaded mtty1.42.rar onto a temp fold on my laptop
2. Stopped wcescomm.exe from taskbar(the rapimgr was not running so dint get it)
3. Device was put into cradle (was saying USB v 2.07)
4. I executed the mtty1.42 extracted file(application)
("This is where I got stuck")
I got
open port setting popup
a. Asked me for Port (options were COM1,2,3 and USB)
I selected USB
b. Asked me for Baud:
I selected 115200
c. Databits = 8bits
d. Stopbits = 0bits
e. Localecho=No
f. Flow Control=None
e.Parity=None
When I say Ok, It opens me a window of Multi Port TTY Version 1.42 and within that there is another window that is opened that says
USB115200 N-8-1 and its a blank notepad kind of a file
(Do I need to type in anything into this and save and and download?)
5. U have instructed me to
a. Choose WCEUSBSH001 (where do i choose this from?)
b type "set 14 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset. (where do I do this)
c. type "task 28" to get your device formatted (where)
d. type "task 0" to ask your device reboot (where)
6. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already(I was not able to reach this stage).
Please take a little time in guiding me and sorry if I have been troubling you with basic questions and I m very worried and want to fix this sooner.
Also is it required for the phone to be charged suring this process and is it mandatory that I should ensure that it reads USB v2.07 while it is on the cradle?
Awaiting ur instructions and Thanks again s much

I ****ed my BA like this guy and found this solution via google.
It worked perfectly. God bless you sir.
Stuck in Serial
The BA that I have killed is stuck in "Serial, v2.07". Placing it in a USB cradle does nothing. I have tried to connect using a cable I purchased, but I think I need a straight thru cable and I only have a null modem.
I want to verify that I should be able to connect via serial and do the same process?
Thanks.
padapa
i had ewhat a similar issue, my problem was caused by windows vista....not sure if thats what your issue is, but if you are running vista try this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291723
still in stuck serial
After a long break, I'm back to trying to recover this BA that is stuck in bootloader. I've read wiki's and forum posts till I'm blue in the face. I have two BAs, one with WM2003 and the "stuck one".
If I put the good BA into the cradle, it starts Activesync and the USB driver and I can connect via mtty and see the good BA, the "stuck one" does not start anything.
If I plug in my serial cable and put in the good BA, I see the "CLIENT" message. When I put in the "stuck one", I see nothing and typing the codes does nothting.
Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated.
Padapa
check the bottom PC IO/Connector of the BA physically for broken "pins"

I have been using the X1_HardSPL_Utility program. My phone has always had a good connection with Windows Mobile Device Center (ie, whenever I plug it into the USB port, it automatically syncs). I follow the steps in the program, but when it launches the bootloader program on my x1, it just stays at the "Loading..." screen. Then I get an error from the hardspl program that says something about my phone isn't connected to WMDC. After I disconnected and rebooted my phone, now my phone can no longer be detected by WMDC when I plug it into the USB port. How can I fix this problem so that I can Hard-SPL my phone? or are there alternate methods, such as through the Micro SD card?
i've made the same wrong thing like you ... 5 days to find it out.
1. dont have a rom on your storagecard (well not in the root)
2. put the hardspl.exe on the desktop of your pc (also dont have a rom on the desktop)
3. start the hardspl.exe on the desktop with the usb pluged in.
and it will work and you will feel like me "like a dump noob".
SO YES - YOU HAVE TO START THE X1_HARDSPL.EXE FROM YOUR BLOODY PC, LAPTOP, ETC AND NOT FROM YOUR X1

I had the exact same problem.
You need to:
Disable your internet connection(wifi/lan)
disable your virus detection and windows firewall (and any standalone fire wall you have)
Remove you MicroSD card
run hardspl (it should now complete the operation)
And flash to what ever rom you like (using the SD card method)
Re-enable your firewall/virus detection/internet connection (In that order)
thanks!! i got it working just fine now thanks to both of you guy's help!
ok one more problem. I am not able to get my X1 synced with WMDC anymore, just as it was doing before my failed attempts at Hard-SPLing my phone. How do I fix this?
ok do you have now the hardspl on the phone?
IF yes - it will sync.
1. dont connect the phone
2. delete the "Partnerschaft" in english perhaps the team in WMC (means delete the phone in MWC).
3. connect the phone it will say a "oh new phone" - give him the sync possibilities and it's done.
took a bit time the first time...................just checked it right.........hm got also problems.....yesterday it worked because he copied the changes ........but today!
Hi
I have tried the dummies guide concerning updating the HTC USB drivers but had a couple of issues:
1. If I press F8 during the boot process I get an abreviated version of the bois setup which has no selection for turning off digital signing of drivers. I have an ASUS motherboard so to enter the bois I press the DEL key. Whilst in the bios I can see no option for turning off the digital signing. The instructions in the thread simply don't work.
I have done some searching and found web pages that explain how to enter the command window, paste 2 or 3 lines of text to turn off digital signing and put W7 64 bit into a sort of test mode. I have done that and have "Test Mode Windows 7600" in the bottom right corner of my Desktop. I still can't install the HTC USB driver as it brings up an error due to being not signed.
Without installing the new driver I cant change my ROM. There must be others in the same boat having changed to Windows 7. Please help.
Ok a few things:
I'm on windows 7 x64 build 7600, I'm having NO problems, just connect your device in windows let it connect with active sync
Then de-connect your blacktsone, shut it down, and hold volume down button then press start up, it will now start in bootloader mode
Now re-connect and wait for it to get installed by your pc!
If you really DO need htc drivers
Go into your bios
Turn of any quick booting AND turn off full logog display
When windows is starting AFTER the bootscreen you'll get a screen with some sort of TABLE in it with all your hardware and all they're IRQ's
at THIS moment when you see this table press f8
Then you get a boot menu
and you can follow your guide with turning off the signed drivers etcetera!
Great Greet Giblet
wow dude, treat me like the idiot I am. Step by step please.
"Then de-connect your blacktsone" - i guess you mean take out the USB cable?
I wait for it to get re-installed but nothing happens whilst in bootloader and the word serial stays at the bottom of the screen
OMG
Oh my god, I am really frustrated becuase I managed to get it to work with your help but I don't know how. I must have tried everything 10 times without luck then all of a sudden it worked.
If only I knew what I was doing wrong I could pass it along to the next poor sap.
Thanks for your help.

Some options to get a new ROM on your device:
Alternative Option: Run ROM from storage card (this requires HSPL on your device)
- Connect your phone to your pc with the usb cable
- Choose Disk Drive option on your phone when presented with the choice.
- Extract the downloaded rar and if not called BLACIMG.nbh rename the romfile to that (ruusigned.nbh is commonly used so rename when so)
- Copy the BLACIMG.nbh to your phone's storage card via Windows Explorer where it should show up as an removable harddrive.
- Disconnect your phone from the pc once copy has finished.
- Shut down your phone.
- Press Volume Down (left top of phone) and keep it pressed while pressing the Start button (on top of phone) once.
- The bootloader (red, green, blue, white screen) will now start, it will detect the new rom file and ask you if you want to update your current one.
- Confirm and follow instructions on screen
Done.
As for your unsigned drivers i can offer some tips:
- Press F8 after you have seen all your hard drives recognized in the bios bootup screen but before you see the Windows Logo.
- F8 might be set as a bootselector menu by your motherboard manufacturer, if this gets in the way of trying the get to the F8 options from Windows you can disable it in your BIOS (to enter press del)
- If you have Windows 7 Ultimate you are entitled to XP-Mode which is basically a built in virtual machine of Windows XP within Windows 7, some people have been succesfull connection their phone to that XP installation and were able to update via it.
Hope this helps. together with the previous poster's comment you should come a long way, good luck.

Oh lol, guess you just managed, grats on that. for future you could try the alternative option i posted, works garanteed irregardless of operation system.
Solution found, thread closed
In future try posting such queries in the Dummies guide: updating HTC USB Sync Drivers thread. Thats what its there for
This is seriously driving me up the £[email protected]!¬ wall.
I had Kies and Moborobo installed to try get my SGS3 connected, and today I got another brand new SGS3 LTE and (FFS) ive spent two hours trying to connect it so I can root it & copy stuff over to it.
AAAAAUUUGGGGHHHHH
So far I have uninstalled Kies, Uninstalled Moborobo, Installed MSKIP's drivers for samsung several times. Windows shows that it has installed drivers for a Samsung device, but then the phone does not show in windows explorer and does not show in MSKIP's Toolkit v6.
EDIT:
THE PROBLEM WAS THIS:
After doing a backup of my IMEI/NV Data, I did not see the line further down in the thread saying to return to USB mode (I did not know I was LEAVING USB MODE! - there was no warning...)
So for anyone else who has done the backup procedure from liquidperfection, be warned, you must return to USB mode or you will not be able to use Mark's great utility!
Dial *#7284# on your phone to access PhoneUtil and select 'Qualcomm USB Settings' at the bottom. Now select 'MTP + ADB' and press 'OK' to return to the previous screen. Now press your 'Back' key to exit PhoneUtil. Your phone is now back to default USB operation.
Cheers,
Mark.
