Hello guys.
Here is my situation.
Innitially, my xdaiis was running rom 1.42 www and radio rom 1.13 but i was having problems with small mic volume which makes it very hard for the other party to hear me during a telephone conversation.
Then i decided to upgrade to radio rom version 1.15 and the problem did not go away, infact, it seems to create a new one. The sound for the first second would be fine, then it gets to a nearly muted level. More frustrating I would say.
Can i downgrade my radio rom to version 1.12 (this is what the xda was shipped with) and I hope this will work. Having a ppc phone that does not function well as a phone is quite frustrating.
So please comment and point me to the right direction.
Thankyou.
Hi guy
You should flash the 2003's ROM after you updatong the RADIO,then the wrongs maybe disappear
Have a try,Good luck
Apologies but I could not make sense of what you've posted. Would you mind rephrasing? I now am forced to use the included headset, sound is fine. This then makes me wonder: is it a software or hardware problem.
Which combination of ROM, Radio and BTstack You find the most stable, reliable and low energy consuming.
I don't think I'm satisfied with the sombination I have...

WM5: TuMa 1.3 (MS BT Stack) with radio 1.15.
In terms of WM2003SE: Orange 1.31, BT3500 and radio 1.15.
All respect to KTamas (551 posts don't write themselves), but I have to disagree. From what I've seen, radio 1.15 has problems with dropping calls and slow response from the phone application. Midget_1990 suggested I downgrade from 1.15 to 1.13 and I've seen a marked improvement since.
Likewise TuMa1.3, while a huge achievement from its author Tuatara, is now outdated by Logout and Ivan's latest ROMs. Both of them are faster and more stable than TuMa 1.3.
Logout is based on the fast, but flawed TuMa 1.4, with a lot of fixes. It's really good at multimedia - I get the best framerate in pocket media player with this ROM, but it seems to self-destruct after 2 weeks of heavy use. I've had to rebuild it after some pretty strange situations where the camera suddenly stopped working, phone app refused to launch, and the messaging app went crazy, opening and closing windows until killed manually.
TuMa 1.5 remains everyone's great hope for the perfect WM5 ROM, but it's not in a state to be released yet. In the meanwhile I use Ivan v4r3. It gives the fastest UI response, but it plays movie files less well than Logout. Above all, it's very stable if treated with care - usually needs rebuilding once a month or so.
Is the periodic rebuilding required on all WM5 roms? I know the windows xp "half-life" is about 18 months (if you look after it!), but I didn't realise that the phones picked up as much cruft as well.
i find between 2-8 weeks depending on what rom i'm running, note though that this is not just WM5, i also had to do this often in 2003se to keep the speed how it should be.

I thought that this could be a problem... I think about downgrading Radio to 1.13.
And what about ROM? Orange 1.31 is the only suggestion? Any other voices? If not, I think the only option will be to put into my baby that ROM...
Greets,
Robert
keep the 1.42 os rom, cook your own extrom, or leave as is, and use 1.13 radio. best wm2003se combi IMHO
Radio 1.13 is not as loud as 1.15.
If you use Bluetooth Headset, your friends will not hear your voice.
I've tried it with 3 Bluetooths.
But with 1.15,the volume is loud and clear.

I'm planning to buy BT headset. So far 1.13 is good enough.

I've uploaded the radio rom only file here
Thanks - I've gone down to 02.19.11 from 2.47.11 because of the missed call problem. Will test for a week or so and let everyone know how it works out.
Finally a fix for U.S. users
The underlying problem was the newer radio stacks. The 2.19 Radio is on the FTP site under wizard rom;s tmobile. I can't take credit as see previous post, but thought it deserved it's own thread.
I can confirm it fixed the missed call problem U.S. Cingular 8125 on Cingular network. Overclock to 240 mhz and voicecommand 1.6 and wow smoking fast phone and bluetooth headset seems to work better!
I can't install that Radio Rom. It is in Italian and gives me some sort of error. Got an English or WWE copy by any chance? THanks for the tip!

How about sharing the source of the English version?????
The version I posted works on G3 and G4. Don't think there's an English installer yet for G4 devices. Just click avanti (next) until it flashes the radio rom.
Nice to see that 2.19.11 also works for the Cingular users!
A link to the file here!
This is VERY interesting! I had to drop Faria's 3.2 ROM because of this issue, even though it's been my favorite ROM so far. Has it had any affect on the battery drain? That was one of the other issues I contended with, however not near as big a concern as the calls/msgs not getting through. I'm looking forward to giving this another try.
FWIW, that is the Radio ROM I had, and this morning it installed fine. Maybe it had to do a couple of soft resets first. Anyway, I am hoping you nailed this one because I too like the Faria ROM best (and I also had the battery drain issue with it).
English Installer for the Dutch 2.19.11 Radio Rom.
Guys, i repackaged the Dutch T-mobile 2.19.11 Radio Rom with an English Installer. Go to this thread:
Wizard Radio Rom Only Updaters
It should work with both G3 and G4 chipsets as I used the same installer that is included in the other packages.
Enjoy...
Thanks, Kyphur - I'm right in the middle of reinstalling Faria's 3.2. This will make the radio update even easier.
Thanks, Kyphur! Now will one of you guys with Faria's 3.2 send it to me, because I can't find my copy and it has been pulled...argh....

Ok, now I can confirm no more missed calls Molski and faria 3.2 is now a definite go. So Molski, fario please put your 3.2 roms back but with radio 2.19
Thanks folks
How is the signal with this Radio? The whole reason I went to the 2.47.11 is for better reception in areas where I had little to none. Has anyone really noticed a difference?
This was a great find, thanks. Now I can go back to the 3.2 roms I had to swear off because...well...if the phone doesn't work for phone calls, it's a doorstop.

Excellent, dont even notice any difference. I wonder what all these versions about.
mda reception
I just installed the aku3.2 rom and i notice 1 stripe more in reception.
before i had the 2.26 from T-mobile US and this one RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2-G3. they both have 1 stripe reception where the 2.47 radio rom has 2-3 stripes.
I am going to say that it MAY have fixed or at least lessened the problem of the fast battery drain I was seeing with faria's ROM, too, and it is my favorite. This is most excellent.
It Works
Tried on molski with both cingular and Tmo, battery lasts longer and I have not missed any calls or had the phone require a reset!
YES....It works..!!
Thanks for the fix....!!!
Finally took time out to upgrade back to Faria's AKU 3.2 12mb and everything is working. Bluetooth is working better also, before...people could not hear me but I could here them (Motorola H700).
Dialpad works also....with & without Bluetooth...no more soft resetting.
I didn't say anything new....just confirming what's been said about the fix.....for USA T-Mobile users.
I installed the rom and downgraded to the Tmobile 02.19.11 UK radio rom (from the ftp). However, I am unable to make calls as it cannot connect to the network. There is an exclamation mark where the signal bars should be. I am O2 customer so I tried adding the network manually, but no joys.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a O2 2.19.11 uk rom?
Cheers
Chris
there is nothing different about this radio roms but the version number it has..
try the 2.25 t mobile rom this works also fine
enjoy....

The link doesnt work for me faria. I just went to the ftp site and manually downloaded the rom.
I cant access the FTP site. It keeps asking me my usnername or something so I figure the xda login name right, but it doesnt work. Can someone upload it somewhere thanks
Thanks
Download works fine for me. Just put xda in for the password. I'll check it out and see if its a reasonable alternative for the 2.19.11 rom and my Cingular service!

Thanks, I finally was able to download it. One question before I upgrade. Maybe Faria can give his input. I am a T-mobile user currently on the 2.19.11 radio rom. This seems to be the best one overall for me since it allows both data and voice calls at the same time, there are no missed calls. But reception/signal is somewhat not good. Does this new radio give better reception for T-Mobile as well as allowing both data and voice?
Thanks
Great radio rom but isn't 2.69.11 newer then 2.40.11?
Well, right, it is newer most likely. The thing is, newer isn't necessarily better for each person's circumstance. Radios are tuned for particular providers in particular places and are usually matched with particular roms. However, in my case for example, with Cingular US service, and WM6 roms, my experience and that of many others is that the 2.19.11 T-mobile UK rom is the best. The others were inconsistent in alerting me to incoming calls and pending voicemails. However the data and sound was better with the newer radios. For me not missing calls was most important, so I stick with the older rom. But, this is a new one for me, and hope springs eternal, so I'll probably give it a try and see if I can have the best of both worlds like those T-Mobile guys.
Regards,
working well on farias "the real thing"?

From what I understand, 2.69.11 is the latest released German Radio rom, but 2.40.11 is a US released rom. So this may work better for US customers. I hope we can use 2.40.11 with WM6!

Just installed it! I will post back my results.
Since I finally experienced the awful delay in SMS receiving on the 2.69 radio ROM (after several weeks of success, I missed 4 important text messages in an hour's timeframe), I'm game for this. Downloading now...
So far my signal seems to be much better than 2.19 radio. but only time will tell.

I too am now noticing a delay\lack of SMS\Voicemail Msg after WEEKS of 2.69 working like a charm. I thought I was one of the lucking ones but now I am not so sure. Who knows how long this has been happening. Anyway, downloaded and installing right now.
Working great on WM2005 .
thanx Faria .
by the way...this is a US radio.....sorry i cant name the carrier at the moment.
I've installed this on my Cingular 8125 on the Cingular network last night. I received a test sms and another SMS from a friend in a timely manner. All test calls I've put through have worked so far. I was even downloading a webpage with Opera and phoned in and the call came through. So far so good... Tomorrow (Monday) will be the real test when I'm back to work, but I'll try to give it a workout today.
thanks for the info so far and please continue to post information on this rom and its working with wm6
P.S.-Sorry for not being able to also post information but in what i do missing a call/calls or missing a sms/sms' would cost me alot of $$$$$...(so thanks for being guinea pigs...poor pigs lol)
First timer dumb question
Hi. I am running Nottoosmart's system with radio 2.19. Things have been pretty stable, but there are times when I've had to reboot in order to reacquire the phone carrier after sleep (e.g. softreset). Also, subjectively I believe I have some signal problems when in places where there is already a weak signal.
So, bottom, line, I am considering trying this radio.
But, I have never flashed a radio before and I'd like to avoid having this become a "federal project." So a few questions:
1. I can flash the radio back and forth (e.g. ->2.40, ->2.19) *without* touching the OS (e.g. wm6 rom/ram), is that correct?
2. There are several executables in the zip: EnterBootloader.exe, romupdateutility.exe, RUUGetInfo.exe; I realize there are tutorials ad infinitum posted here, but can someone help me save some time by letting me know how to install the radio, do I just run "romupdateutility" over activesync, or is there more to do?
Please don't flame. I am an engineer, just not experienced in burning radios to MDA's. I assume the radio goes into a portion of rom that is dedicated to the phone processor of the OMAP chip?

Hello,
1) You can flash the Radio rom without messing with the OS. All of your settings and files will not be affected. It does not require a hard reset.
2) Just run the romupdateutility.exe. It works the same when you flash a new os rom, it just takes a fraction of the time due to the fact you are only flashing the radio. I just connect via USB and let activesync do its thing then run romupdateutility.exe, the program will kill activesync itself.
I hope this helps.

If I have upgraded the radio rom 2.71.11, do I still apply the XDA Cingular Radio Fix2?

Where does it come from?
I thought the 2.69 was the newest release
2.71.11 is newest radio rom for kjam.i am using last 3 days.very nice,no miss call or internet problem.very good signal.by the way i am using molski 2.26 wm5 final rom.you can find radio 2.71.11 under the wm6/the boring rom title.good luck
Should I install the fix if I get the new radio?
I'm not usually an early adopter for new roms, but I decided to throw this one on and give it a go. Glad I did. So far, I've seen a very marked improvement for both signal strength as well as the time to recover signal compared to both the 2.19 and 2.69 radio roms. I'm presently using it with the Cingular fix, so I can't comment on whether or not it's needed. Hopefully this continues to work well. The strength is fantastic. Using on Tmobile in nothern New England.
Miss calls on this 2.71.11?
Lets share our experience with the 2.71.11
Phone locks up after about 1 in every 3 calls.
IPL:2.21.0001
SPL:2.21.Olip
Radio:2.27.11 w/XDA Cingular fix 2
Ext Rom: TNT.1933
I have been using Radio 2.71.11 since it was posted and have had not one problem with it. I do get better reception. Battery drain is the same. When I first flashed radio 2.71.11 I added the radio fix cab and it showed no connection and searching, so I uninstalled the cab and all is fine?
just a thought, matbe you have to have IPL/SPL 226 or 308 for the radio to function properly
ipl/spl 308 bluetooth issue
i have an mda vario t-mobile in the uk on pay monthly. since the 308 rom in december, the bluetooth has done weird things. i can now run my motorola stereo headphones on the rom software instead of using the zoki bt cab which fixed the skipping tracks on the previous rom, but now my vario won't talk to my tomtom. an error message saying that it can't find the 'voice gateway' flashes up on the tomtom (one xl), momentarily before the tt tells me it can't find the services on the phone.
hmmm.. is there a way round this apart from sell the phone?

Although I am hesitant to attribute it to the radio rom upgrade, since installing the radio rom 2.71.11 on my phone missed calls have shown up as they should and my particular wm6 rom is known to have an issue with missed calls where they show up as "received calls" when gprs is active.
I'm unaware of any other changes which would have corrected this.
I can also state the rom has been performing well for me..I tether heavily and response has been nice...previously I was on the 2.69.11 rom which would occasionally "go off into limbo" and have to be reset on long tethering sessions..so far *looks for wood to knock on..settles on using his own skull* this has not occured on 2.71.11
I will give a try(as sson as my battery charges over 50% ) than I'll report here
flashing now...I'll report back soon...
Hi,
That is a nice version.
How can I install this ROM and do I loose all my settings when installing it?
Many Thanks
Does anyone know if this fixed the 8125's phone and data issue? I am having the issue and would like to know if I need to downgrade to the 2.1* radios or if this will resolve the issue.
And secondly... (OK totally noob here) I still need to CID unlock this phone with hard-SPL? or would it be better to use SoftSPL so I don't void my warranty?
Thanks,
SoBBie
PS the issue I am referring to is post in any places. It is that you will drop a call if your phone tries to connect to the internet.

I use wm6 tnt 1933 and had the same issues. I would have a whole day of missed calls with no voicemail reminder. I have the cingular fix installed but there is still no improvement. I just flashed to 2.71 so I will let you know how this works in a couple of days.
