For some strange reason, i haven't got that icon anymore since i installed some software i'm beta testing at the moment (i'm under NDA, so can't say what it is for now)...
Anyway, to answer your question: modify the following registry entries:
Code:
Show Time,Date, both or Battery on top bar at Today screen
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\]
Time:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=1
Date:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=2
Both:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=3
Nothing:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 / "TBOpt"=0
Battery:
"ShowTitleBarClock"=0 / "TBOpt"=1
Thank you!
I'll try it on my device.
Chris
do you also know the registry key to get one line for the date instead of two lines on the today screen?
thx!

thanks mate, have been searching for it, things like 'one line today date' or 'multiple date today' didn't came up with a reg key in this forum...so thanks!!
Wow I was looking for this for so long. But under WM6, it doesn't update the icons correctly when you disable it.. Any ideas?
search for kaiser tweak. has what you need.
the kaiser tweak is stickied on this forum...that will solve all your problems..

i have tried all the reg hacks mentioned above as well as kaiser tweak.
kaiser tweak settings:
title bar - battery / clock [clock]
title bar - clock settings [nothing]
date display - single-line
registry settings:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock = 1
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 1
anyone have any idea what am i doing wrong?
thanks
Update:
ok, i must be stupid. previously the 'nothing' setting was forced whenever i chose 'clock'. i reset battery/clock to 'battery' and the clock settings to 'date' and it worked, i now have the time and no battery icon. not sure why choosing 'date' translates to time.
Battery icons

I have done this on an 8125 running wm6 and it works but not sure about your phone. Just delete the custom icon your not happy with and since the original icon is in the rom itself it will just pop back up with the original one.
Hope this helps
ok i'm stupid!
i cannot remove the battery icon and display only the clock on the top
I tried to change every possible setting but i'm either manage to display the clock and the battery or the battery only
How on earth i can display only the clock and remove the battery completely ??
"Great" do the following Regedit:
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\]
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1
"TBOpt"=1
you may need to create a new DWORD value for "TBOpt"
what about removing the battery icon without changing the location of the clock.
is this possible?
The AT&T sign and the Date are shown on the top left and right correspondingly on the Today screen, under the top horizontal bar. I have been trying to find a way to change their colors (make them more visible, they are totally obscured in some Today screen settings). The HTC Home customizer or any other program I have found (e.g. Thememaker SE) does not allow changes in the text color for those two items.
Anybody knows how to do this?

You can't change those, it's hardcoded into the plugin. maybe a future version of the plugin will allow that.
Thanks! I bought my phone as unlocked Kaiser, so the AT&T signal must be coming from the AT&T network. Is this the "plugin" you are refering to?
Hi,
when I turn off bluetooth, instead of the bluetooth icon a symbol of number "1" is shown in the taskbar without any function connected to it.
On my homescreen: 1 - 3G - Signalquality - Audio - Battery
On my dialerscreen: 1 - 3G - Signalquality - Audio
So there is always one icon more (1) in the taskbar, than functions to change when I klick on it.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this useless number 1 icon?
Maybe it is the ALS (Alternate Line Service).
Maybe your provider is able to offer you a second phone line.
A screenshot would be helpful.
Yes, I can switch between Line 1 and 2 (ALS) and the icon is changing then from 1 to 2.
But I havn´t seen this special icon in any screenshot of the taskbar in this forum yet.
Hi guys. I've been searching to get rid of the number "1" from my diamond too.
My carrier supports ALS (Alternate Line Service) but I don't use.
I want ot get rid of the number 1. There is a screenshot so you can see.
Please help!
Thanks
Line 1 icon remove
Just try the following: go to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIN\RIL\ALSService and change the value from 1 to 0.
Icon in the upper bar will disappear, but after a soft reset it´s there again.
Does anybody have permanent solution?
So, anyone find a way to make it permanent?
Guys, looks like the only way to turn it off is really to change:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\ALSService to 0.
I've created a simple utility that makes such change on startup:
http://rapidshare.com/files/276006867/AlsStopperSetup.CAB
For me it works perfect, enjoy if you like it!

In the registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL] > "ALSService"=dword:00000001 and changing dword to 0 removes "Line 1" but a reboot sets it back to default so... you can find a permanent fix to remove the Line 1 from the taskbar here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10877507&postcount=32606
this thing is driving me crazy! I got the CDMA touch pro, everytime i send a text it always notifies me with that message, i know my mogul used to do that before and my friend downloaded the windows registry and then followed some procedure to take them off but no idea what that was (this was back in the summer)
I tried searching through here but found nothing.
please help!
I believe schap's advanced settings can disable delivery report, plus it gives you many other useful extended tweaks.
try to search it, and it's free
you can also go to Start>Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Message sent notification
uncheck display on screen.
done! without advanced config!
This is what I used to disable the SMS Sent Notification.
[\HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default]
"Options" = dword:X
X being one of the values listed below (Default on Sprint was 13) Changes take effect immediately. I used 1, didn't mind the audible sound or the little icon showing at the top for a a brief second. If you use 0 you won't get any bubble notice or audible, just a 1-2 second icon in the taskbar that is gone as quickly as it appears.
0 - Icon
1 - Icon and Audio
2 - Icon and Vibrate (SSS)
3 - Icon, Audio and Vibrate (L)
4 - Same as 0
5 - Same as 1
6 - Same as 2
7 - Same as 3
8 - Icon and Bubble
9 - Icon, Bubble and Audio
10 - Icon, Bubble and Vibrate (LLS)
11 - Icon, Bubble, Audio and Vibrate (L)
12 - Bubble
13 - Bubble and Audio
14 - Bubble and Vibrate (SSL)
15 - Bubble, Audio and Vibrate (L)
The following do not reset the keyboard after sending message. What that means is that as you type and the software is doing the word complete, after sending, the word complete dialog still shows on the screen for the last word typed.
16 - Icon and No KB Reset
17 - Icon, Audio and No KB Reset
18 - Icon, Vibrate (SSS) and No KB Reset
19 - Icon, Audio, Vibrate (L) and No KB Reset
20 - Same as 16
I stopped trying values when I got to 20 since from 16 on they appeared to be the same as 0-15 but with the KB issue I mention above. Also, all the S's and L's represent quantity and length of the vibrations. I tried each setting about 10 times and 3 of the 10, the last vibe was opposite of what I show. In most cases though, it did as I show above.
After I found these, I did a search and found that a few others had found and posted the above as well. So I wasn't the first, but I did find it on my own.
That and what I covered in this thread should get you covered.
Also, you can check the following thread which has a different method for customizing the individual notifications for everything. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=460368

it's not there, he is thinking text received, not text sent. Anyways download Diamond tweak or Advanced config, scroll down on either to messages, and then click text sent confirmation "disable" it's very simple.
Just search the forum for either file the cabs are floating all around the place. I would use advanced config instead of registry edits.
Here's the link and thread to the Advanced Config Tool Mentioned
http://www.touchxperience.com/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151
My experience with Advanced Config is that it's not very CDMA friendly. It was originally written based on GSM phones and makes assumptions.
Not to steer the thread in the wrong direction but has that changed?
NosetnSMS CAB here!
Here you go, this solves the issue, just place it on your phone and install it
diamond tweak worked well for me
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMsg=1 (its 0 by default) this will stop the message pop up box from popping up. should work right after you save but you may need a soft reset..
thanks! that advanced config didn't work (said i needed an updated microsoft net frame) but installed the 1kb nosms file and that worked like a charm, thanks!
I want to make widget that will change it's text depend from week day. I tought it could be done by mixing Minimalistic Text Widget and Tasker but I totally don't know how could anyone help?
Not really sure on the question - Minimalistic Text already displays the weekday.
Do you mean custom text that changes based on the day of the week?
Tasker has a "Day of Week" variable too, so you can switch off of that if that's what you wanted.
I want to display something like this:
"wonderfulWednesday" or "fabolousFriday" and I want to change first part of it (wonderful/fabolous) automatically every day.
anyone?
I don't know how variable text works, but maybe that's the key?
it's right next to static text
A rough way, but working.
Create 7 textfiles
monday,tuesday ..... sunday
In each of them put in the text You want
to be shown according to the given name of file/day
Put files in root of sdcard
In Tasker:
Make a task DayOfWeek
1:Tasker: Variable Set %LINE To 1
2:File: Read Line File:%DAYW Line:%LINE To Var %DAYSTRING
3lugin: Minimalistic Text Variable(Config) DAYSTRING = %DAYSTRING
Make A Profile that trigger Task "DayOfWeek" when ever You want
(Maybe at Time:00:01)
Set a Minimalistic Text Widget on homescreen Showing Variable DAYSTRING

Hello. I just attempted this profile for another project I'm working on (trying to get Minimalistic Text to show weekdays as numbers- ie: Sunday=1, Monday=2, Saturday=7, etc.) and, although I have the text files in the root of the SD, it says it cannot find the files.
Any ideas?
Bump!
I was trying to find a similar solution as you. I have a Minimalist Text widget that shows the weather forecast for the next two days, and wanted to show the shortened, corresponding days of the week.

The problem you had may have been having a file extension. Tasker would be looking for "Monday" and you've given it "Monday.txt"
I nixed file extensions from my 7 text files, and it works fine.
I'm now trying to figure out how to get the same "mon" output for the day after tomorrow. I tried appending an extra letter to the filename to give "aMonday" withe the text "wed" inside, and I tried putting it on a second line in the "Monday" file. Neither worked. Any ideas?

For other's sake, I'd like to confirm that the former of my methods works fine. I had mistyped a string in Tasker, which caused my error.

Despite this thread being very old, it was a stepping stone for me in getting this to work, and in a way that I think is significantly more efficient.
I was trying to set a Minimalist Text widget to display info in the following format:
TOMSweatherTEMP|TOMNweatherTEMP
TOMS=Day of week tomorrow // For the sake of this example, lets assume today is Monday. We want this to Equal TUE
TOMN=Day of week after that // For the sake of this example, lets assume today is Monday. We want this to Equal WED
My solution
Tasker ProfileayofTom
From: 00:02 - 00:03
Task: DayofTomorrow
Task: DayofTomorrow
Variable Set: %TOMS to %TIMES + 86400 // This sets variable %TOMS to tomorrows date in seconds
Variable Convert: %TOMS Function Seconds to Long Date // This sets variable %TOMS to a long form date
Variable Split: %TOMS Splitter , // This makes the long date split into multiple variables where a "," is present. This creates 3 variables, %TOMS1, %TOMS2, %TOMS3. We will be using %TOMS1, which has become TUESDAY
Variable Section: Name %TOMS1 From 1 Length 3 // Because I wanted to show a short day name (Tues, not Tuesday), this action discards any characters outside of the first 3. Now we just need to send the variable to Minimalist Text
Minimalist Text: Configuration TOMS = %TOMS1 // This action is available through plugins. Set "variable name" to TOMS (this is what is sent to Minimalist Text). Set Variable Content to %TOMS1 (the local variable)
Now go to Minimalist Text and in the widget of your choice and add "Locale Variable" with Variable Name TOMS.
You're DONE!
To get the day after tomorrow:
Create a new profile: "DayofTomNext"
Create a new Task: "DayofTomNext"
Then use the exact same process as above, but add 1728000 instead of 86400, and replace TOMS with TOMN.
Hope this helps any who come around later.
