I have upgraded from 'RUU_Prodigy_2080707_107_11310_QTEK_DAN_Test.exe' to 'RUU_Prodigy_2180705_21807105_20710_QTEK_DAN_Ship.exe'
I wish I did'nt, now I cannot use my Motorola HT820 stereo bluetooth headset.
Please carve it out in big letters how to downgrade to 'RUU_Prodigy_2080707_107_11310_QTEK_DAN_Test.exe'. (It says "ERROR [296] : UPGRADE ONLY"

is the 2.18 rom in english?
Maybe I'm wrong here, but shouldn't you just be able to load the original test ruu again by running the exe? CID lock won't be an issue since both roms are Qtek roms.

Enter Bootloader, - hold the "camera" and shortly press the reset button, don't release "camera" until you can see color screen, connect USB cable, and start to flash any ROM you like
It has to be a shipped version not only a sepperate rom.
something like:'RUU_Prodigy_2080707_107_11310_QTEK_DAN_Test.exe'

with the bootloader i mean the bootscreen of youre Qtek during a reset

I've done this myself on a device that got "bricked" by a remote wipe test. Does it even check for CID lock when started in this manner?

Yes, I used some program to set it to '11111111', but I do not know how to validate...?
I am exactly in the same situation and can not downgrade. I want to downgrade to an earlier ROM as my companys email application for PDAs(www.good.com) do not run under the new 2.18.7.5 DAN.
I have also tried the bootloader trick without success.
Any suggestions on how to downgrade from the new ROMs?

Hi,
I tried to install the faria rom on my qtek 9100 with WM6, the RUU ran to 99% when I got an error and ran into recovery process. The phone now boots in the 3 colors mode with IPL and SPL 2.17. When I plugged in the USB cable, I have "USB" at the bottom of the screen.
My main problem is that active sync 4.5 does not connect to the phone anymore and I can't run any RUU anymore
I tried to install/uninstall active sync; I remove/put back batteries in the phone and still no connection with active sync
I tried other RUU like core 2.0, crossbow reloaded 1.5, love rom but in fact nothing as no connection established
Please if you know the answer, please help me as I have... no phone anymore

you don't need active sync to run the ruu. just plug in the phone, when you see usb above the left softkey, flash your chosen rom
are you CID unlocked??
because if not, you will get this problem and possibly brick your phone. click the CID unlock link in my Sig for tutorial
thanks for answer. I really thought that active sync was needed. I finally used the initial rom from my operator so a WM5 and my phone works again! Thanks a lot!
So... i tried again to flash it ;-)
but before I unlocked and uncided it.
Then I flashed faria, core 2.0 and still an error at the end then entering recovery mode. Each time to reflash one of these I had to install the original rom for the operator. I finally installed the love rom: it works but tried to flash then faria and others and again upgrate utility error at the end.
Any idea why I can't flash these roms on my machine (a qtek 9100 - G3)
(by the way my spl stayed at 2.17 but IPL dropped from 2.17 to 1.01)

although I ran the CID unlocked program...
Are you saying that I should cid unlock after each time I re-installed my original ROM operator?
I thought it was writing in different memory part..

No, but it wouldn't hurt to re-do. Are you sure you have CID unlocked previously? what have you flashed before this problem? some Roms will flash to a locked device
got it working in the end.
I had to reinstall the .cab file after the sim unlock to effectively cid unlock the phone. I was wrongly focusing on the activesync connection I could not get to work

I'm trying to upgrade from Molski 2.26 to WM6 and now I am stuck on bootloader mode. Since I'm in bootloader mode, activesync is not seeing my device. Because of that, I can't even load any other rom images, the upgrade utility simply quits because of that. Can anyone help? Thanks.

since your stuck in bootloader mode activesync won't be active. When you are in the bootloader screen, hook up your usb to you wizard. There look in the bottom left corner you will/should see usb displayed there. Once you can confirm that, run the RUU and flash an OFFICIAL CARRIER ROM. After that try flashing wm6 again. hope that helps you out. To find official carrier rom look in some of the stickies they should links for you.

I also have a T-Mobile MDA, and I got stuck at the bootloader screen. I tried flashing Wizard Love ROM, but it doesnt flash either. I bought the phone from ebay, and I'm not in the US. When I try to download the TMobile ROM, it asks me for a valid TMobile phone number, which I dont have.
Is there any other place where I can get the TMobile ROM to flash on the phone?
I dont get it. If you're stuck in bootloader, just connect the usb cable and run official RUU.

Not being a customer of TMobile, I cant download the official ROM update from the TMobile website, cause they require a TMobile number in order to download the ROM

I have tried a number of ROMS to upgrade to WM6/6.1
The upgrade appears to be successful and the inital screen suggest the upgrade has worked but the setup screens are still WM5 and after setup the device is still running WM 5.
As an example using the XM6r5Lite ROM shows a XDA 6 screen after hard boot but is still running WM5

I read the guide before attempting a ROM upgrade.
Its a G3 device that is unlocked.
None of the trouble shooting points in the guide seem to relate to the problem of the upgrade appearing successful but the device remaining as WM5rather than WM6.
Have I missed something

How did you check that the phone is CID unlocked? You realize there's a difference between SIM and CID unlocking
I am assuming it is CID unlocked as it was purchased SIM free directly rather than from a carrier

Get WST and read the CID block to be sure if it's indeed as what's happening to it looks like CID blocked situation.
I was getting the same problem with a G4 XDA Mini S
i tried hardspl, softspl and then in the end i flashed it using the CID locked guide. I managed to get TNT WM 6.1 on it, but it wont work properly, the GSM info on bootup screen now doesnt show half the time when i boot the phone up, i have reflashed the original O2 rom and it seems to be working, although it wont connect to my wireless. Gonna have another play with it and see what i can find out, will update this thread if i find anything.

Have you tried latest WST v4.2.2?
I added the possibility to CID unlock even if IPL/SPL values differ. Another member reported a success story with WST and a case like yours.

When I try to flash that rom, I receive this error after the program puts the phone into bootloader mode...

This Update Utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your Update Utility.
Also, if I proceed further and attempt to flash the 3.08 ipl/spl, only the spl changes...the ipl remains at 1.01.
That message is clearly a sign of locked CID.
Have you tried to unlock CID anyway?
I have gone through the unlock stage is the Wiki instructions, then installed the T-Mobile WM5 ROM followed by the XM6r5Lite (WM6 not 6.1) ROM.
This time the device has taken the upgrade and initially appears to be working.

Re-reading my post above, I just noticed the version of ipl/spl - 1.01. I had always thought the oldest version was 1.08? Perhaps that is a clue?
Any ideas?

Sorry to ask again but have you CID unlocked with latest 4.2.2 WST? I added a new feature that has helped another member with locked SPL. And what bootloader values you have exactly?
Yes, I downloaded the latest WST (4.2.2) and even though it reported CID and SIM already unlocked, I went ahead and re-unlocked both with no errors being displayed and successful restarts after each. Currently, my boot screen shows this...
ipl 1.01
spl 1.01
gsm 1.12.10.0
os 1.5.4.2
Unfortunately, when I attempt to load any other rom, the wizard gets hosed...and yes, that is a perfectly acceptable technical term in this case.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if it matters, here's the CID info as read by WST 4.2.2...

Okay, so I guess every single CID unlocker I've tried so far has actually failed, even though they stated they succeeded (and even WST reporting already unlocked). However, when I run the mtty MFC applicaton (r2sd all), it fails every time stating the device is actually NOT unlocked (which is why I'm not able to flash any other roms).
So, knowing that NONE of the CID unlocker programs (that I've found throughout the forums and the ftp) are working on my wizard, what can I do? Are there other CID unlocking programs that could actually "force" the unlock to actually work?

Although,its a sign of CID not unlocked,but if you say,the WST tool reports it as CID unlocked. Which was the official rom on it when you downgraded.from your network sign,it appears you are on T-mobile network,so the official T-mobile shud flash and work on your phone.where did you downloaded the T-mobile Rom ? try to download from the T-mobile official site and check if it works or you can try wizard_love_Rom or xda_minis_launch.Its assumed you are flashing on winXP.

Yes, using WinXP. Tried the love rom, but no go...same as the t-mobile rom. Only found the t-mobile rom on rapidshare...couldn't locate an "official" source for it. Every time I try to flash anything other than the button rom, during the initial boot, the gsm line is missing from the display where the ipl, spl, gsm, and os display normally appears. Then, as the device boots into windows mobile, all interactivity with the device lags...each keypress can take up to 30 seconds to respond. So, I reflash button and all works just fine again. Very strange indeed.

G4 device cannot be CID unlocked,but it can be tricked into being CID unlocked temporarily by flashing the patched IPL/SPL (Bootloaders),however,it always remains CID unlocked.

Perhaps you are not doing the procedure correctly,read the guide again and do it correctly,you might be missing some step,or it might be that it requires to be manually copy and paste 'EnableRapi' in the phone and execute it.
If at all it doesn't work,you can might try to do HardSPL.

Now I used HardSPL-G4 to Cid Unlock my phone. I check it using the wizard service tool and it is unlocked. I tried installing BlackDiamond_3[1].1_Touch to phone again but got an error so I used the RUU MUN utility. Everthing appeared to be working. The progress bar went to 100% and wizard restarted but. Nothing Changed again. Its still the origianl T-Mobile rom. I am very confused on what i am doing wrong.
Am I missing somthing or am I doing somthing wrong? I dont understand why this isn't working.

Are you sure its a G4 device,coz WST tool can never confirm a G4 device to be CID unlocked,A G4 device can never be CID unlocked.
ok,run the WST tool and click the 'Device Info' button,post the report it generates here now,it'll confirm that DOC chip version of the phone with IPL/SPL,ok
true, forgot that, it was the qtek prophet g4 that you could unlock, for the wizard i had to flash 3 roms before flashing a cooked rom, there is some good tutorial here somewhere
