for some reason, this is the second time that I have had this issue, I whiped out everything and started over, and it does it again
When I set an event in the calander, the image of the "bell" shows. when the even hits the notification time, the bell dissapears and I am NEVER notified?
any ideas on what is doing this?
please help
It could be caused by garbage in your notification queue. You can remove garbage notification queue entries with memmaid (15 day free trial is available). Try blowing away all unnamed (blank) entries along with duplicate entries and see if it helps. Next you can try removing any namedevents SCRIPT entries. Removing Calender.exe messages removes notifications for the indicated entry. These cannot be restored without creating a new meeting. Don't touch the repllog.exe entries! Those control activesync notifications and removing them will cause activesync to fail requiring a cold reset to fix!
I had the same problem with my K-Jam.
Also removed the events, but no change.
The only solution for me was to make a complete backup (SunnySoft BackupManager), do a hard reset, and restored the backup.
Somehow the error was not included in the backup.

I've got the ATT Tilt running the original Kaiser ROM. There are a few (small) frustrations I'd like some advice on.
Currently, I'm running FlexMail full time, and PocketCM for a contact manager. These apps are rarely stopped. I have a feeling that FlexMail, PocketCM and the internal Messaging app are conflicting. Every time I receive a notification it comes immediately (tested with friends), but when I try to open a text in any of the three apps, there is a delay of a good 10+ seconds; if I try to compose a new SMS or reply to one, in any of the programs, the phone seems to freeze entirely for sometimes up to three full minutes; even after that, text entry via any method is very slow to respond.
I soft reset my device about every night, just to make sure it's running as quickly as it can. I find that the Messaging problem is persistent even immediately after a reset. My preference would be the have PocketCM quit trying to deal with SMS at all (every time I receive one, it switches to my contact list, and I hate that), and to use FlexMail to deal with SMS (but only if I can figure out how to deal with MMS as well in that app, otherwise the internal messaging is fine).
Also, recently when resetting I get the error immediatly after the HTC Home screen launches: "The file '' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file." I have no idea what this belongs to!
Other information that might be useful - I've added the HTC Phone Pad to the device; I tried Pocket Informant and removed it, and am currently running SPB Pocket (which I will also probably remove). I've installed a number of other packages which I decided I don't need and removed, having kept just a couple emulators, PocketPuTTY, and Opera Mini (latest beta).
Sorry for the long post, but I LOVE this phone - it just sucks when you can't text quickly, my LG VX6000 was better at it *snicker*.. gotta make this thing zippier!
Okay, yet another problem with this kaiser. This phone is acting worse then a problem child on crack since I reloaded 6 times because of me trying to get the weather in my area. Anyhow, since I gave up trying to fix the weather thing, I now have a message problem. I have deleted all messages from inbox and outbox, etc. But still the phone keeps saying I have one new unread message. I have powered the device off and also used the stylus to reset it from the bottom button, and still have no effect. What is wrong with this thing this time? Has anyone had this problem? I am running the stock HTC firmware with WM 6.1 and Update 23 of M2D Touchflo. Also have Update 20 addons installed to make things work, etc. TomTom, and other msc programs. Don't think they would effect this, since I had this setup before my phone starting to screw up.
Okay, I found the solution. If anyone else needs this then here is the website:
http://www.freewareppc.com/communication/fixunreadcount.shtml
Description:
This utility fixes the unread count for every mail folder in every account on the device.
Some users have had problems with Inbox or the Today screen displaying "-1" unread messages, or displaying 1 or more unread messages when, in fact, there are none. This utility will detect and repair these discrepencies.
It's not flashy, but it does the job
Just power off device and restart it and it should be gone.
Hi everyone, i hope this hasnt been resovled before, but i did a few searches and came up blank.
Ive had my TyTn II for quite a while now, and managed to rock up 48000 SMS on it, which stuffed up the memory, making me do a hard reset. But now i have a different problem.
I tried to delete all my SMS, which was about 14000, as i didnt want a repeat of what happened last time, but after a long tiime the SMS appeared to delete, so i did a soft reset, and about 6900 SMS remain, all in sent items. i tried again, and the same thing occoured. also once after resetting the SMSes that i sent/recieved the past day dissapeared.
Has anyone expierenced a problem like this? i think its a corrupt SMS in the Data files somewhere, but i really dont want to fish out a particular one, or hard reset my phone again.
And FYI im running the stock 6.1 TyTn II AUS ROM (Rom version 3.29.710 WWE)
Thankyou for your help
not completely sure whats going on but i have a suggestion worth trying out...
assuming your requirement is to keep a clean house with a minimum number of text items in your inbox and sent items, i imagine you would like to archive those messages (as opposed to simply deleting them) as a bonus.
search for "pimbackup" here on xda and download it and install it to your device. pimbackup has two kinds of backup operations:
1. backup and keep existing items
2. backup and REMOVE the backed up items
try option 2...this way, you will have an archive of all those text messages and you can let pimbackup handle the mass delete operation...who knows, maybe it will "stick" better than a manual mass deletion.
good luck!
i thought when u delete messages it just goes to the deleted folder not really off the phone go to that folder in messaging and delete them from there or from the pc.
Yes, but the default limit for deleted items is 50 messages. then it starts rolling them off and deleting...
Hello friends,
I have this peculiar problem, when i delete sms/ smses and also delete them from deleted folder, and then soft reset the device (both from the hard button or from soft reset button) deleted sms reppears in the inbox again.
I have currently 6000+ sms and wants to delete many sms from it but they reppear after soft reset.
I have also selected below options in menu>tools>options>storage>empty delted items
1) immediately
2) Mannually
3) on connect / disconnect
but nothing works,
Friends kindly help into this.
Regards,
Vishal
Friends please help
Friends got the solution by myself
Here is what i tried
1) Before deleting smses my device (main) memory was just 2.6 mb free, i cleaned up / deleted unwanted files from my device memory and brought it to 12 mb free
2) After that i deleted the smses that i wanted to delete and
3) VOILA after soft reset, none of the smses reappears
Cheers,
Vishal
You are a genius!
I've been having the same problem for a month and a half now. Messages would keep reverting back to the "magic" date of 9/8/10. But I also had the same memory problem, maybe 3mb or so free and again 6000+ texts. My hotmail account would also resurrect emails back to 9/8 after every soft reset. I've looked on these forums and a lot of people were saying go with a hard reset. Well, I have to much apps/settings on my phone to just do that willingly. So I tried what you said. I also tried removing Windows/Messaging before a soft reset. After reset, texts stayed gone, but hotmail account went back to 9/8/10 (and before) emails. But I noticed I now had like 35mb free of memory, so I tried deleting all the hotmail emails and went for another soft reset. And they were gone after reset! So removing the messaging folder may have worked, but I think it was being able to delete the messages(emails) with enough memory to I guess, fully "temporarily store and erase" within the memory. Thanks!
So noticed something weird with the stock calendar app tied to my work (exchange) calendar. I have a daily meeting every morning and clicked on it to edit it, clicked to edit all instances, didn't actually make any changes, and after I had clicked save, the appointment no longer shows up in the calendar. It's just gone.
I still get the meeting reminder/alerts but it isn't in the calendar. Two other weird things--after clearing the alert sometimes it will show up again for the meeting--so I've gotten 2 and even 3 alerts for the same meeting. (This might be because I clear it, instead of clicking the alert and hitting dismiss in the calendar app). Today I did click the alert and dismissed it from the app. After doing that the appointment showed up again. After going into "edit" (to try to prevent the double alerts), and hitting save, once again, the appt. is gone.
Anyone else seeing this?
I too had this issue with some of my Outlook appointments that i brought down.
I noticed that when I went back to the month (in month view) where the very first instance of a recurring appointment took place, all of the appointments would pop back up and be displayed. Kinda wierd.
I tried entering appointments through the phone and it wont save anything. Hopefully the 2.2 update will fix a lot of exchange issues, since I feel this is a very important piece of the phone.
