Re: Software update - Flash
I have an XDA2s on the O2 netwrok, however it is unlocked ie works on vodafone, orange , tmobile, If i decide to update my XDA 2S software from the O2 website, will this mean that i will lose this unlock and will be stuck to only one network?
Thanks
Rio
afaik the unlock should be permanent (is for me), however its no big loss if its not as you can just unlock it again for free using the all xda unlock tool. (read the wiki for info)

btw i am referring to the singapore asia set

No, if the phone is locked, no official upgrade will unlock it.

Nope, not yet and i wouldnt hope to do so in the next 6-12 months either.
Try to change your O2 ROM with the European ROM using Goldcard method

That would DeBrand the Device (removing the O2 Splash screen etc) however it WILL NOT unlock the device to allow another network's sim card to work in the device.
The ONLY way at the moment to unlock your device is to either obtain the code from O2 which you have tried or pay for one through a unlock site such as the one he's already been shown (http://www.htcimeiunlock.com/htc-hd7-unlock)
^^ ok thanks for all of you guys
i'll try that website
i wish that it work..
best regards for you ...
First, hi there.... i'm a newbie regarding flashing smartphones.... so please be kind
My phone info:
OS Version: 7.0.7008.0
Firmwareversion: 2250.09.11901.207
HW-Rev: 0002
Radio: 5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09U
Radio-HW: A.102.0.D4
Bootloaderversion: 1.19.2250.0(111297)
Chip-SOC-Version: 2.2.5.0
Provider: o2 Germany
(HD7 bought via o2myhandy)
PreNoDo-Update is installed.
And here are coming the questions :
1. Correct me if im wrong but it looks like my HD7 is branded from o2. (i have the o2 accent theme in my design settings and so on)
2. I want to unbrand my HD7, to get updates directly and not through o2. Is that possible?
3. If that is possible, which ROM should i use to flash? (Is it useful to debrand my phone with an preNodo ROM and update it then through zune?)
4. Can i use the offical HTC ROMs, or du i have to use other ones?
Thanks!
This is exactly what I've been wondering too. The o2 search provider (Yahoo) on my phone annoys me lots and I'm fed up waiting for the 7.0.7390 update to arrive. Shall I take matters into my own hands!
Hi
I followed the instructions on this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988672
and have updated to NODO successfully
Please Note it seems to work with only HTC HD7 on O2 UK
I had an O2 UK and its seems to unbrand it to European version to get the nodo update
Do make sure you read the post properly again and again if you must , cause I made a few cockups a couple of times but got it right the third time
Thanks!
Whats the difference between the o2 UK and o2 DE ROMs aside the language?
I've also updated my phone and it worked flawlessly!
It's even now offering the NoDo update officially from MS, I presume because the phone is now unbranded.
Unbranding made a big difference to my phone, stripping the o2 logo off the bootup sequence and taking the crappy Yahoo search off IE.
Very happy with the improvement
Ok, i hope its not off-topic, but i there seems to be too many threads that got me confused ( some with deleted op )
I am getting a T-Mobile unlocked hd7, question is .. is there a way to unbrand and get NoDo ? If i do it will it get locked again ? ( i used unlock code to unlock it )
Please if it has been posted before, just guide me to the threads i should read.

Did you remove netlock? A unlocked phone will allow you to side load apps. T-Mobile wouldnt do that (its not legal).
I called mobile today to get my HD7 unlocked wil try this
Sent from my HD7 using Board Express
By unlocked i meant SIM-unlocked -.-'

Even i have a HTC HD7 US T-Mobile version sim unlocked and im using it in China. Is there any way i can unbrand it and get NODO update?
Hii,
I got Samsung S GT i9000 from Orange UK network. I have unlocked it in INDIA and am using it in INDIA. Recently when I was changing my SIM unfortunately the phone got locked and it was asking unlock code. I searched in XDA forums about unlock and heard that the unlock code will be in the phone itself and got the unlock code and have unlocked it. More information about Samsung unlock can be known by visiting this thread....

My question is right now my SGS is version 2.1.Now I wanted to update to froyo. If I upgrade my SGS will my phone be locked. And if at all it is locked can I use the old network unlock code or will the unlock code change if I upgrade my SGS?
Clearly I want to know whether the network unlock code will be unique to a mobile or will it change with update of firm ware...........
Thankyou for your help in advance............
once unlocked it will stay unlocked.
and it by any chance it does re-lock, your original unlock code will work
As far as I experienced it, upgrading will not lock ist.
Thank You guys for your wonderful help
Am very thankful
I also want to know how to install themes on my SGS. The build numberpresent in my SGS was ECLAIR.BVJG2 and firmware was 2.1-updae1. How can I install themes and what themes can be installed for my firmware version???
Try romkitchen.org. U can get themes for froyo from there

Hi all, i have warranty on my phone and a issue with screen images burning in! I know it's AMOLED sscreen stuff but this mine is faulty! I have nvFlashed it to stock Froyo rom, and updated with LG update tool to v20l! Question is can i lock my phone to carier like it was on start? Will they confirm warranty if it is unlocked?
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
Hello!
Well this is a question only the service staff from your provider can answer in the end...
But if someone asks you could say LG Update tool is responsible since you just updated with it…
…or you get a branded rom form your provider somehow/somewhere!?!?
No you can't SIM lock the phone, and it being unlocked should have no effect on the warranty (as long as it was done by code, and not some horrible hack-job, I guess).
Ok well than it was unlocked by code
