Hi all, i have warranty on my phone and a issue with screen images burning in! I know it's AMOLED sscreen stuff but this mine is faulty! I have nvFlashed it to stock Froyo rom, and updated with LG update tool to v20l! Question is can i lock my phone to carier like it was on start? Will they confirm warranty if it is unlocked?

Hello!
Well this is a question only the service staff from your provider can answer in the end...
But if someone asks you could say LG Update tool is responsible since you just updated with it…
…or you get a branded rom form your provider somehow/somewhere!?!?
No you can't SIM lock the phone, and it being unlocked should have no effect on the warranty (as long as it was done by code, and not some horrible hack-job, I guess).
Ok well than it was unlocked by code

Hi, I am thinking of getting the LG 2x because it comes with the bootloader already unlocked, so does it INVALIDATE YOUR WARRANTEE to flash the Rom?
Thanks.
I'd imagine so yes, but you can revert back to stock very easily.
Oh BTW, if anyone can answer tonight, I would be grateful, cos experia offer ends midnight! ;-)
Lol! - you must have posted that while i was typing! ;-)
Also, do you know if there is a Rom with HTC sense 3 for the x2??
There is no rom with sense 3 ui !!
Try for MIUI ROM it has a sense theme which gives little bit similar ui as that of htc sensation !!!!

It depends on your country LG policy whether it will invalidate your warranty or not. At best ask your local LG branch.

The bootloader is locked or not in lg O2x?
The bootloader is locked or not?
Is it possible to unlock the bootloader as in lg g-slate tablet?

Hello, devs! I am new to this forums (officially a noob) and I'll be getting my Atrix HD (AT&T) in about a week. The thing is I don't want to experience any problems as I don't live in the US and it'll be quite a pain to have it shipped there. So I need to make sure if the following is a risk or not

Hey there everyone!
I bought my Atrix HD unlocked from eBay, it all worked fine until yesterday a message from AT&T came to my phone saying there was an update. installed it and now my phone is locked!
I spoke on the phone to a customer service representative and he said that the contract Motorola has with AT&T doesn't allow them to give unlock codes (?) and that I should try calling in a month or two.
Is there anything else I could try before buying an unlock code online?? Please help

As seen here
Anyone experiencing similar problems?
Live in Germany.
Got mit AHD (At&t) yesterday and updated it today.
Takes about 10 mins.
You can update it without any sim-card!!! And the phone/wlan and everything runs already without sim card!:good:
Never saw this before!
So i bought the unlock code after the update right now.
The screen for unlocking is there.
Waiting for the code!:good:
I have already ordered from ebay and now i have the same question .
will any OTA update make it locked again ?
if yes then if i request the seller for the unlock code , will the same code that was used to originally unlock the device , can be used subsequently after any update ?
ps : i live in india
Using an OTA will not affect your sim unlock.
It might affect root and ur bootloader but not sim unlocking. I have done it several times on this and other motorola android (atrixes) phones.

Hi Guys
I want to get the HTC One to replace my Galaxy S II as my contract just expired. I used to have a HTC Touch HD back in the ol' WinMo days and I find the HTC One more appealing than the Galaxy S IV (UK edition) or the Xperia Z
I had only one question though - if in the unlikely event that my phone suffers a hardware issue and I'm unlocked and rooted etc, will I be able to restore the phone to the state I got it from or will there be some sort of detectable change by HTC that lets them see that I've tinkered with the software and so can't get warranty support?
I ask this because I had an issue with my Galaxy S II and there was a program that stopped the flash counter on that from working so I could just restore the stock ICS firmware on that and send it in to get it fixed a couple of months ago, and I feel that having a custom ROM is sort of a necessity for me now (flashaholic...), so is it possible for me to (in the event of a disaster) restore the phone firmware via fastboot etc and send it back in to HTC?
TLDR - If I root a HTC One can I restore it completely for warranty purposes so HTC doesn't realise?
Thanks in advance, I apologise for being retarded/nooby etc....

If its a Dev phone it probably wont matter. Its sold for development purposes. I'm not positive here but i think the only way to make one 100% back to stock is to be s-off. All recent HTC phones say tampered on the bootloader when unlocked. I think s-off is needed to fix that..
You can but it says relocked and you submit all your phones details to htc when unlocking the bootloader. But if you go on the android revolution blog. Mike has done a great post on how it doesn't void warranty. I have sent my relocked phone and htc have been fine.

Wow, thanks, I found the post and it was very informative. I'm not planning on damaging my brand new HTC One when I do get it, but it is handy to know that I'll be covered if something else that isn't my fault does indeed go wrong, as was the case for my current S2!
Thanks for the advice, I just need to see how the contract works with respect to keeping my phone number etc, and then hopefully I'll be getting the phone
Hi all, I'm so sorry for posting this if there is similar thread. I've searched a lot about my problem, but still can't find a resolve. I want to update my Xperia T (LT30P) to JB 4.2.2, but my phone says "bootloader UNLOCK allowed:NO". I have read some threads but they are all too old and maybe outdated. I'll be very thankful if you help me to update my phone. Thanks!
Only if a rom uses a custom kernel you will need an unlocked bootloader. Stock based roms can be installed on a locked bootloader. There is however no 4.2.2 stock based rom, as there is no stock update to 4.2.2 (yet).
It really has all been covered in the All in One thread (sticky in this forum).

so I can't install even the CM10 ?
No I can't either for cyanogenmod you need a custom kernel which needs an unlocked bootloader
Sent from my LT30p using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Did you read the first few lines in the first post in the first thread in the Q&A section?
It clearly states that if it says no, then you cannot unlock.
No unlocked bootloader = no custom kernel = no Cyanogenmod
same
I also encountered cases similar to yours and send mail to sony but they say that this case can not be unlocked

And again, this says nothing about unlocking the bootloader when it says "Bootloader unlock allowed :no"
please can you provide the specific link where someone has said it has worked for them...otherwise this is turning it the j.anderson post of the x10 in the past, all promise and no actual delivery

Right. What happened in that thread was Sony Xperia support gave customers of Movistar (one carrier) an opportunity to make arrangements to send their phones to Sony, so they could physically unlock their bootloaders for them. Sony offered that service to that specific group of Movistar customers that had received SIM unlock codes from Movistar. It's a little bit of an exceptional situation.

I dont think that its an exceptional situation. I'm from spain (sorry for the misspellings), and Sony Its unlocking bootloaders from all providers, in my case one Xperia V from Yoigo (Telia spain) its now on the Sony service for changing the status from unlocking allowed: no to yes for free.
This situation its a mess from sony, because all the devices sold as unlocked where unlocked from provider and can be unlocked the bootloader. But the ones sold from providers and locked to them, once you obtain de unlock code (from Yoigo in my case) only unlocks from provider and not the posibility of unlocking the bootloader.
The conditions for changing the status of unlocking the bootloader are that you have previously unlocked the provider by any way, I mean buying a unlock code or obtaining it from your provider. And prove it with the unlock code + IMEI contacting with sony by email. Then in one or two weeks sony will contact you to take the phone to unlock. Try contacting Sony, you have nothing to lose.
If you can read spanish or translate it here you have to posts where I take the info:

Hi!
I got my V unlocked from Sony. I'm from Yoigo too and after conctacting Sony, they took my phone for free, changed the status to Yes and returned to me.
I read about it in the spanish forums htcmania (in the links provided in the previous post), tried it and worked

If you're talking about a "bootloader unlock allowed: no" related issue, then your only possible solution involves the test-point above the battery (as outlined in this post) and some custom software by the developers of SEtool, and I have no idea if this will actually work, but most likely nothing else ever will.
