Wizard soft reset causes usbswitch to reset to serial. - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I am running the latest Official Cingular 2.25 ROM, when I soft reset, USBswitch defaults back to serial. Any registry change to keep it RNDIS?

I am having this issue as well. I called HTC and the suggestion was for me to switch it back to RNDIS, do not soft reset for a week and see if it resets itself. That's not the answer I was looking for. I would really like a better suggestion from someone here.

Hard Reset and don't let the customizations install. Then manually install everything except the USB_Switch (something like that) Cab file. This will remove the serial option from your device.

Mine is backwards
It always default o RNDIS when soft reset
Did you get any additional tips for this issue?
Can u send me a link to copy the CABu have used?
Thanks

HELP!!! Lost Extended_Rom

HEEEELLLLP!!!!
A few weeks back i ran the Wizard Extended_Rom Unlocker.
It worked and i saw Ext_Rom2....after sometime i decided it wouldn't do my anymore good to keep it viewable...so i decide to uninstall the unlocker cab. And after a soft reset, everything goes back to normal or i thought it did.
Today i decide to venture into Extended_rom again, and instead of seeing cabs and the config file....i see 3 folders with weird cryptic symbol names.
And when i try and open them i get an error saying
"Cannot open, either it not signed with a trusted certificate or one of the components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file."
And this error happens for all 3 folders.
My wizard is working perfectly fine, actually better than it has ever done...but i'm just freaked in the event of a hard reset...
Any help on anything i can do to restore the extended_Rom...
btw...i'm running the Custom Tmobile 2.17 rom created by Xelencin.
and to reiterate...all i did was un-install the MyLovingWife unlocker cab and soft reset....i did not run that other "hide Extended_rom cab"
Much thanks to anyone who can help.[/b]
Is there a way to restore or re-import the extended_rom to replace my currently corrupted one?
Or is re-flashing the only way???
Me, myself and I also played around with the Extended Rom Unlocker Tools, also my Extended Rom got corrupted, it was 'writable', but also empty (I tried to install mine IIWPO.CAB in the Extended Rom, but because I got the newest Rom this was/is a problem). A hard-reset didn't work, you get the "welcome screen", but no customization, so reflashing is the only way to get it completely working again.
Thank you tho

Had simillar issues after playing with ExtROM.
Format ExtRom with ResoExplorer resolved it. It can not actually format ExtROM, so comes up with an error, but then ExtROM got all CAB files back.
I think it might be, because some standard system call to format this media leads to recover FileSystem structure.
In reality media is protected, so you do not change anything on the media when writing or removing from/to it, it seems just to cache someweher and format function probably fush the cash.
PS: My OS version 2.16.something.
cheers,
maekel.
YES...that did it!!! Thanks...
now my question is...how do i hide the ext_rom again? I tried what i did before and just uninstall the unlocker, but when i go look it up with a reg-editor...Ext_Rom is empty...
i unlock again, and run the format and the files are there....so everything is there under Ext_Rom2.
Can i just leave it like this unlocked and in the event of a Hard-reset it will still work?
Will running the Lock cab work??

Change registry flag.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1\MountHidden=1
Is this with the ext_rom locked or unlocked??
Shouold i un-install the Unlocker cab then do the registry edit.
I did the reg change...
The Ext_Rom still shows blank.

I think that CAB is just changing couple of registry entries.
You can easily remove it and never use it again.

Extended ROM will not load during hard reset
I have searched the forum for several hours, but I could not find a solution to the issue I am having. When I do a hard reset, hit send to begin the format, I get an error saying FORMAT Failed, so it boots back up as if it was just a soft reset. I really need a hard reset, but I am not sure how to make this happen. I have reloaded the ROM several times, but it still does not take and comes up just like a soft reset. I went into bootloader and flashed it that way, but still no go. If anyone could help me find a way to rectify this issue, I would GREATLY appreciate it.

no Gsm service IN wm5

i have weired problem, after upgrading to wm5 on my blueangel everything was ok,but i cant remember if i changed something or it happened by it self, the GSm service shows NO SERVICE,,,and the synchronization with the PC IS NOT WORKING ALSO,,,and whenever i try to hard reset it with the record and camera buttons ,when i press on the mail button nothing happens,,,as if i didnt press any thing......i tried to go back to 2003se,it worked fine,i used both radio versions 1.15 and 1.13 and the same on the wm5
i tried to reinstall the wm5 it reinstalled with the same problem and i noticed that my configurations r also the same!! and even the wall paper ,it seems that the settings sticks to the memory in some way ,,how can i delete it?how can i get rid of that?and install a new fresh copy of WM5 on it?
my device info now is 5.04.09
radio:1.13
and the surprise is no extRom version is Blank!
plz i need help with that....
what device do you have?
it's IMATE PDA2K
Have you tried to make soft reset? Is radio version showing up on reset?
The same situation. Everything was fine untill i upgraded to WM5 and then WM6. It seems that all files in ROM were saved cause on device start up all old applications are starting, such us XPshut and etc, but system gives can't find the file. the same applies to phoneservice.exe. the only thing which helps is to roll back to original 1.40 from imate.com. any solution?
if all apps from wm5 are there during startup, you didn't perform the reset + no/yes/yes + mail button routine, did you? the same thing when upgrading to wm5 from 2003se.

Won't Reset Automatically

Hi, my Tilt can't auto reset for some reason.
Is this normal?
I have to manually press the soft reset button with the stylus every time
Thanks
are you talking about not auto resetting after installation of a cab or auto resetting in general. The tilt is NOT supposed to automatically reset itself out of the blue. It either needs to be program or user triggered.
Hi thesire
I'm talking about when a program tells it to reset. I hafve sprite backup on it and it says that it will reset before backup. The system turns off but doesn't reset. the only way to turn it back on is if you manually hit the reset button.
This is also the case for installing cabs as I will have to poke the reset manually because it doesn't to it itself
What ROM are you using? This happened with the HTC official 3.03.405.0 (Radio 1.64.06.04)
Oh I think Im using that rom
RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.03.405.0_radio_sign_25.70.40.02_1.64.06.04
What rom should I flash to?
thanks
Same Problem
I have the same problem. I am currently on L26 diamond (Hybrid) v5.
Any Ideas???

Manilla.exe error

I have an Orange Htc Diamond, whick Ihave had for a week.
I have had a Manilla.exe failed message appear twice, & believe this is something to do with the Touchflo.
Do I need to send the phone back to Orange reporting a fault?
I do not want to hack the registry as it will invalidate my warranty.
Many Thanks.
Hardreset...
u dont loose your warranty wehn u change somethin in the registry
Manill.exe
I have tried to hard reet several times, but The pda just restarts.
are sure you make a hardreset!?

Attempted reset as shown, still no success.

I cannot hard reset as shown in manual.
It just restarts as a soft reset would.
No info regarding reset comes on the screen.

instead of soft reset, hard reset

Hi,
I do not know if anyone has met this issue before.
i was fine until yesterday when i installed this app which shows the pic of the caller.
After the uninstalation it said that i needed a soft reset to finish the process.
I did one but then it did a hardreset.
I installed the rom again, and after certain customisations, that needed a soft reset, a hard one is beeing performed right now.
What can i do please?
Thannk you
flash a stock rom => hard reset => flash a custom rom => hard reset.
dollar wallper
thanks for the tip.
It worked!!!
Now another small issue.
Is there a way to get rid of the dollar that appears in the beginning of the soft reset?
