I recently installed the program on my mda. Now i keep getting an error message everything i wake the phone up. the message says cannot exeute mydocuments/newfolder/smartskey.exe. Does anyone know what the fix is? its really annoying me. thanks
Look in \Windows\Startup and delete (or better yet... move elsewhere) whatever shortcut is pointing at that path (you are going to have to look at the shortcut's properties for this, as it could be named anything) the best proggies to do this with are either Total Commander (kick-ass and free) or Resco Explorer (kick-ass but expensive)

Thanks! I moved it to mydocs, Persoanl folder. I really hope this makes it go away. Its killing me to see this error message everything i power the phone back up.
use Memmaid to verify the event setting to activate smartskey when device wakeup.

Thank you! Where would i find that? I'm knew to this!
download Memmaid ,install & run. you'll find a tab named Notification. In the notification list you should find an item about smartskey, verify that the file path is correct.

I have had no luck with SmartsKey. I have installed, uninstalled, installed at least 5 diffedrent times and it is nothing but a problem for me.
I have read the Un-Installation Instructons:
1. Run smartskey.exe once, a popup will be shown, tap 'Yes' to close the program.
2. Deleted the folder that stores smartskey
3. Checked/windows/startup to see if there is an sortcut that link to smartskey.
4. Made a softrest.
I have done this many times and I stil get:
NOTIFICATION ERROR
Cannot execute "\Program Files\Smartskey.exe'
I have done a search for Smarskey and could find nothing on my MDA.
Any suggestions??? Thank you in advance.

Mine does that occassionally on reboots.
But it actually loaded.
Did you make sure the ini file is in the right folder ?

Mine was loaded and then I tried uninstall. Yes the ini file is in the right folder. I even tried putting it in the Program folder, etc.

Can someone tell me how to access the notification database. I'm using total commander but don't know which directory holds the database.
when I did it many months ago, I used something called "check notifications", by scary bear software I think they were called.
And maybe memmaid can do it too. Not sure
Could someone who uses SpbPocketPlus, zip the shortcut command directory and attach it to a reply? I believe its under "\Windows\Start_Menu\Programs\Spb_Pocket_Plus_Actions".
I'm using Faria's 3.2 ROM and SpbPocketPlus freezes it so I have the executable directory loaded on the SD card and am hoping I can use the shortcut programs especially "backlight loop".
At the very least, could you tell me the shortcut properties setting for the "backlight loop" command? I figure its ActionSender.exe with some parameters.

Find the attached file if u still want it, but as far as I have realised they are just the shortcuts for the main exe's already installed.

SPB Pocket + will not run on that ROM. Been there, done that....you're lucky your device booted up completely to try and fix it. iLauncher3 works great, give it a try.
Anyone have the registry entry to disable the menu sounds? It annoys me when I click on the START menu, when I press SEND/RECEIVE in Pocket Outlook, etc.
I had a ROM on here recently that had this feature and I miss it greatly.

Start - Settings - Sounds & Notifications - remove the checkbox from "Events (warnings, system events)"
Hmmm.
I thought I tried that on the stock ROM and it didn't solve my problem. But, I unchecked it and viola, that did it.

btw, this isn't a reg tweak but two "empty" sound files, handsw.wav and menupop.wav. If you turn off the Events in Sounds you'll lose (to me at least) essential notifications.

Drats. They are in ROM. How can I replace them?
Simply run that cab file. It does all the work.
Your Wizard only looks for the files in ROM if they aren't found first in the appropriate path. It finds the replacements, and doesn't look further.

I did.
I got an error that said:
'Installation of No Sounds by Dr P.cab wa unsuccessful.'
I did a soft reset, recopied the CAB to the device and got the same message.

I searched the forum and found a similar file. This works for me. Just copy to your wm and install.

Write your ROM,
Apps which you are using... etc,
maybe you just dont have zip manager?
If I remember correctly, the stock WM doesn't support ZIP files. You either have to add a third party app like Pocket Plus, or go with another file explorer like Resco's.

Yes I have the answer to our Zip problems. Got the info from HTC.
Go into the start menu, click programs, click Tools, click Zip.
This opens the zip files on the device or by the drop down box, the storage card.
Tap/hokd on the file you want to open. Tap "open file" and the file wil open.!!.

I downloaded KaiserTweaks directly to my at&t tilt (as I had done prior to hard resetting due to the quickgps fiasco).
This time I cannot open it nor any other d-loaded zips..
I did the above & it finds NO zip files??
Yet in File Explorer/My Docs I see KaiserTweaks with a ZIP icon to the left of it...???

With some of the new roms Opera cannot really exit (it remains permanently on in the background). One of the problems is that many opera settings require a proper exit and restart to be established. For instance, I would like to increase the number of tabs that I can open in Opera but am not able to because Opera will not exit.
Apparently some have solved this problem by making the following registry change
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Preload]
"RealExit"=dword:1
This has not worked for me however. Does anyone have another solution?
I am using Panosha's latest Black Pearl 2.4 Light rom.

Opera is loaded by the silly Push Internet thing. You can disable it by setting Enable to 0 in HKLM\Software\HTC\PushInternetEngine.
It works on my own ROM, but I've seen a report that it doesn't help with Panosha's ROM. You can try though, it definitely won't hurt.

If you post the contents of your \HKLM\Software\OEM\MASD key (I assume you are using Panosha's 2.4), I can check which version of Push Internet stupidity you have - maybe it'll be possible to replace the dll.

To begin with, try to replace the pushinternet dll (simply copy it to \Windows with Resco Explorer or Total Commander and reboot).
If this doesn't help (and you made sure the file was indeed replaced - check modification time/size), we'll see what else can be done.

This worked! I don't think Opera actually exits once started but multiple tabs took. This is what I wanted so I really appreciate your help.
