A Bluetooth connectivity problem - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I have an Orange SPV M2000 (HTC Blue Angel) device. It will not connect to any bluetooth hands free car kit. (I even have problems pairing it with a bluetooth motorola headset) Having read some of the posts you guys all seem incredibly switched on so think this post may be misguided. However I think that I have tried everything!
ROM; 1.40.00, ROM date, 03/10/05,Operator version 5.40.1.179, Radio version 1.06.02, Protocol 1337.38, EXT ROM version 1.40.179 WWE.
Has anyone got any suggestions for a novice?

bluetooth hell

Hi folks,
I've upgraded from version 1.40 WWE - radio 1.10 to versione 1.40 ITALIAN and radio 1.12.
Before the upgrade, my bluetooth headset motorola HS801 was recognized but appear like a very noisy and crackled device. Sometimes people don't hear me, sometimes yes, it was a lucky job to talk wth everyone. My BT version was 3900.
And now?
Now after the upgrade, my HS801 isn't recognized at all. Bt3900 says no services availables for the headset, it was found but not linked to my QTEK 9090.
Must I take my headset and put it in the recycle bin or somewhere anybody is so merciful to give me a hope...?
Will this hell end or what ? Upgrade after upgrade it seems to be worse.
Thanks to all

tell me about it..............I think the actual Bluetooth hardware itself has a defect or incorrectly designed. no amount of upgrades and patches can fix that issue unless a hardware recall is done.......
Well, my headset motorola HS801 have had troubles and problems since from first time I used it. With BT2200 CE Rom 1.02 it was not recognized at all, like now with CE 1.40, RADIO 1.12 anc BT3900. This is a summary:
CONFIG. USAGE
ROM RADIO BT VERSION
1.02 1.06 2200 NOT RECOGNIZED
1.06 1.08 3500 RECOGNIZED, LOUD, NOISY
1.22 1.10 3900 RECOGNIZED, LOUD, NOISY
1.40 WWE 1.10 3900 RECOGNIZED, LOUD, NOISY
1.40 ITA 1.12 3900 NOT RECOGNIZED (service not found)
Very strange think, indeed.

Bluetooth handsfree help

Hi everyone,
I have been searching and reading through all the bt and headsets posts today with no result, my XDA IIi connects to the bt handsfree divices, but when calling are receiving a call there is only a small noise but I can not hear anything else. Can anyone help? I have two devices: a Vivanco BT65s and a Eagletec headsets and neither one works!
Thanks!

Hi Bern,
Unsure whether you solved your prob already, but I'm running BCHS_FOR_POCKET_PC_OZONE.ARMV4.zip software, found in a magician thread, for more BT functionality and my BT earpiece works fine. Never tested it without this software so you can always give it a try.
Cheers, M
Can you do a link to where that file is please as I can not find it using the search function. Thanks
Nope,
Due to the limitations of PIE can't do it. It is in the first post of this thread though ;-)

BT GPS (tomtom 5.21) and BT headset problem

Hi all,
first wanted to say that it is a great forum.
I just came across it couple days ago, and there has been many things that I found here that improved my Qtek 2020i.
but there is one thing that i havent found in here.
I use tomtom 5.21 with a bluetooth GPS receiver. it worked fine until I bought a bluetooth headset. If im using TT to navigate and answer a call via bluetooth headset it works fine, but when i hung up the call, then Qtek looses connection to GPS, then picks it up again in about 10 seconds but runs with a big delay. I have to restart tomtom and then it is back to normal (quite annoying when driving thru town)
any of you have that problem??
thanks for help.
Hi there,
My problem might be related : the device seems unable to use both the headset and the GPS (with TT) at the same time. I don't know why. I've got a Qtek ROM at the moment, I'll see if the latest O2 ROM with upgraded radio stack does any good.
See you.
Right. Just switched to PUG's .162 ROM with O2 stuff stripped.
Alas, it comes with Broadcom stack and there's no SPP inside so I can't connect to my GPS ... Pug if you read this, help
Cheers !
seems strange: I replashed my stock O2 bloatware & buggy 169 Rom with pug's flavour, to give me the 162 rom and Radio version 1.04.
My GPS bonds fine tihe BT, and I can use TomTOm and a BT headset at the same time. Did you flash the Radio to the (far better) 1.04) when you upgraded the Rom?
I've heard quite a few people say on these forums that for Alpine, one of the most stable & speedy setups is the 1.10 WWE Main Rom, the .162 Pug rom with the O2 stuff stripped out, and the 1.04 Radio.
Joe
Yeah actually it works fine now. I made another post while I was looking for help, because the Alpine wouldn't find the SPP service when interrogating the GPS. I simply switched the GPS off and back on, and the problem was gone. I wish I'd tried that before the dozen ROM combinations I spent the afternoon testing
And indeed, I'm now running 1.11WWE/1.04.00/1.11.162 PUGS w/o O2 stuff, and finally TT accepts to work with the headset while using the GPS. What a trip !
Cheers !

XDA 2i Rom Downgrade - Please Help!

Hi
I have recently upgraded the ROM in my XDA 2i to the following versions:
ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: 1.11.171 WWE
However, with this new ROM my GPS unit no linger functions correctly - the speaker on the XDA 2i becomes disabled and it recognizes the wired GPS unit as a full hands free unit which means that it also tries to connect to activesync which disrupts TomTom. I want to downgrade to the following ROM version:
ROM Version: 1.10.00 WWE
ROM Date: 12/24/04
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: (blank)
In other words the original ROM which the 2i was originally shipped with. Does anyone know where i can get this from?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as O2 have said: "We do not support any devices accessories for the XDA 2i and recommend that you contact the manufacturer" so at the moment i am stuck with a very unreliable XDA 2i which i am unable to use
Thanks
Similar Problem
I too have had the upgrade to 1.11.00 WWE installed on my XDAIIi and now cannot connect to the TOMTOM wired GPS device - i am going to try with a Bluetooth device tonight however I dont want to spend another 70 pounds on more hardware.
If someone has a copy of the previous ROM that would be great.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
I have noticed on the TOMTOM website that the Wired GPS device is not Supported by O2 XDA devices - not sure when this changed.
Link to TomTom supported devices on Wired GPS http://www.tomtom.com/products/features.php?ID=100
however the TomTom Bluetooth is still listed as supported by XDA.
I have just loaded the Pug ROM for O2 devices with radio 1.04 ftp://xda:[email protected]_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04_Camera_Fixed.rar
and will be able to advise whether this fixes it tomorrow. Keep an eye on this page
next update
OK so the Pug Rom does not enable the wired GPS reciever. - damn i am going to give a BT GPS device ago tonight. - i have a feeling if we installed version 3.x of navigator then upgrade to 5.x it may work as that is what i did orginially.
I use a wired Haicom HI-204E GPS receiver. and have had no trouble using several ROMs.
Originally my receiver was connected via cheap plugin charger with a ps2 socket for my GPS. Have my XDA2i sat in a TomTom cradle now with an adapter patch lead I made to connect receiver (RJ-11 to PS2f )
Been using PUGs Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed
since mid Feb. 2006
GPS setup in TT as Other Cable NMEA GPS
TT version info
PocketPC device
App version 5.100 (5160)
Free RAM 40.2 mb
GPS driver v1.20
Map: Great-Britain-Map v562
Good luck
i havn't had any problems with any of the upgrades and i use a wired gps as well
