i recently updated to the 2.26 rom and i didnt have any problems till last nite.
I have full signal but No Data connection at all, just the arrows with the x, the settings are fine also anyone have a clue? also im in the NYC area
I have the SAME PROBLEM! IN southern california
i am in nyc also (park slope, brooklyn, to be exact) and i have had many situations where i was somehow "bumped off" the data connection. i notice that now i have either a "G" or an "E" in the data area (which is, I guess, for GRPS or EDGE). There are 2 access point names.
wap.voicestream.com
wap.internet2.com
might need to reset them. here's how:
Start > Settings > connections (tab) > connections (tap icon) > tap "manage existing connections" or if unavailable, "add a new modem connection" > select "t-mobile data" > enter name for connection (doesn't matter what) > select a modem: Cellular line (GRPS) > enter access point name (either of the 2 mentioned above) > Finish (leave next page blank).
hope this helps.

I have used both versions of this ROM which I upgraded to from Summiter's 2.17 ROM. I have found one issue that I cannot identify why it keeps happening. On a daily basis the phone drops its data connection. I am able to make calls, show full signal strength but no data. Nothing that I have done seems to kick it back on. My only recourse is a soft reset which I have now had to start doing at least once every day.
I have no additional software on the device. I have kept it clean until I find the ROM version that I am most happy with.
Any advice?
EDIT: Check out the illustrated, step-by-step guide from Cingular:
https://cingular.atgnow.com/cng/tutorials/KB56475.html
But Cingular's proxy settings don't work for me, so instead, I just do this:
Tap Settings -> Connections
It will list two connections. What's the top connection? MediaNet?
Now, for the top connection, tap "Manage existing connections"
The radio button should be on "Cingular GPRS" (I don't think you want it to dial a phone number to connect to the Internet)
Next, tap the "Proxy Settings" tab.
"This network connects to the Internet" should be checked
"This network uses a proxy server"... I leave it un-checked.
I was trying the manual mode of scanning networks.... I did this by going to Settings --> Cellular then Network Selection... Tap to select.. after few minutes, I see a list of 4 networks, but all are of same name... I don't know what's wrong.
You actually go to Htc connection setup in the main Menu and can change from there easily.
Widget for turning off 3G and limiting to 2G or EDGE in AT&T
Loaded "Quick Settings" from the Market. Fixed one of my problems with the notification ringer volume setting itself down. Like the app and interface.
BUTTTTTT on the turning off 3G it does not work... sent the following email to the Quick Settings bunch... it bounced back... anyone know how to get hold of them???? following is the email and description of the problems. Anyone else know an answer for a Galaxy S phone... particularly a Captivate?

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with this lovely 826x custom rom.
After switching ON WIFI radio - (describing default stock rom issue) - radio is searching for discoverable networks (Access Points) and presenting a list of them to an user - me.
Then I am able to choose network, proceed with few steps (of configuration) and connect with this AP.
But, in my 826x there is no any list with found APs so I can't choose.
The only way is to use MontsterWifi app or via CommManager applet but there is another problem with it. After selecting some position from this APs list (via CommManager) - it displays me panel with this AP, editbox for password, signal strength meter and for the last - button called "Wireless Networks" where I should be able to display another panel called "Configure Wireless Networks screen". When I click on it - it displays me "Networks Adapters" panel.
The same is happening after clicking "Menu"->"Settings"->"Connections"->"WIFI"->"Wireless Networks".
WIFI panel has only two buttons - "Wireless networks" and "Advanced" (excluding checkbox "Turn WIFI on").
For me, gray user, button called "Wireless Networks" should present complete list of discovered Access Points, but instead it sends me to the Netw. Adapters list.
WHY? What could I do with this?
Please help.
Hi.
My problem:
On my xperia x1 wifi will not turn on. When i go Comm Manager, and press wifi switch, the the progress circle is rotate, but the wifi is turned off. I press the switch and nothing happens, still turned off the wifi...
When i go settings, connections, Wireless Lan, the phone is write: "Wireless LAN is OFF. Turn on Wireless LAN" ....i press "turon on wireless lan", but also nothing happens, just select the Subtitle.
What's the problem???? PLS help.
Sorry for my bad english, i'm hungarian
I am in europe, and I've made my peace with the missing 4g bands (3 and 20), so i've given that up. however, 3g should work fine. (if you know if it's possible to change, please do tell)
Every time i restart my phone, i have to go to settings -> More -> Cellular Networks -> Network operators and wait for it to scan networks, then i have to choose my network. Then it works fine, until i restart the phone again, then i have to do the same thing again.
Any idea how to fix it? I am guessing it defaults to "Choose automatically". When i start the phone, (and its without data), if i select choose automatically, it doesnt work. But if i choose my network (i have data), and i select choose automatically, then it continues to work.
I've tried adding my network to preferred networks
I did a search for you to see if maybe tasker could help to do this, but it looks like it can't. However, I did come across this stackexchange post which claims that it is fixed in 6.0.1/cyanogenmod 13: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/108795/how-to-lock-network-operator-or-to-never-go-on-roaming-or-get-out-of-roaming-as
This is the google search that I did: https://www.google.com/search?q=tasker+select+network
