Unable to Unlocked T Mobile MDA Vario Help

I was trying to unlock the SIM chip to my T Mobile MDA Vario but i couldn't
i have already downloaded the SIM unlocker Lokiwiz02b but the phone is still locked to T mobile .I'm going on a trip outside the U.S and i need the phone
I have tried almost all the ROM updates posted on this site but it seems useless, I read that Lokiwiz02 is not compatible with some ROM updates, is that true? or just simply i need to get the right version of the unloker program

You're probably using a 2.x rom so you cannot use lokiwiz 0.2b to SIM unlock it. You must use lokiwiz 0.3a instead

Successfully sim-Unlocked with LokiWiz.Can I upgrade to 2.26

T-Mobile US user. I just unlocked the phone using LokiWiz (awesome util BTW). Can I safely upgrade to 2.26?

Whats your current rom? If it's a 1.xx rom then i strongly advise you to CID unlock the phone (it's different from SIM unlocking) with lokiwiz 0.2b.
Actually, you could install t-mob US 2.26 safely even without CID unlocking but if you did so then you wouldn't be able to CID unlock anymore 'cos only 1.xx roms can be CID unlocked.
To make it short: if you have a 1.xx rom then CID unlock before installing 2.26. If you have a 2.xx rom then go straight to 2.26.

How can I tell if my CID has been unlocked?

I used lokiwiz02b to unlock? both the SID and CID. The device restarted during both installations like it should have.
I read about how to check if the SID is unlocked by using a SIM card from another network but what about the CID?

assuming you already flashed up to a 2.xx carrier rom, you can attempt to flash a different carrier's rom or any 2.xx custom rom here to see if it changes. If it errors out or completes but nothing changes then you are not CID unlocked.

Thank you. Yeah, I followed "How to fllsh a Wizard..." tutorial up to G4.6 assuming it was unlocked. I tried Xplorer 1.1 (originally getting error 300) but then updated the romupdateutility.exe. After the install finished i just had the 3 Color bootloader screen.

woah woah woah... You have a G4... G4's aren't CID Unlocked unless you have paid to have this done from imei-check.co.uk . You also have to be careful (if you don't know this already) what roms you flash. Don't just go and flash another carrier's rom on a G4 or you could (will?) wind up with a brick.
So on a G4, you will either have to pay to get CID Unlocked or you use ShellTool to do upgrades (you have to make sure you remove the IPL/SPL in roms before upgrading).

yeah, you didn't have that signature in your post when I replied originally. You have a G4. be very careful which roms you flash. Flashing IPL/SPL into a G4 will brick it. Lokiwiz won't CID unlock a G4. As MFrazzz has said the only known way to CID unlock a G4 is to pay a website for it (imei-unlockers or something like that.)

Since we now know you have a G4, just start at G4.1 and have fun (but be careful).

unlocking problem

hi all,
i've just tried to unlock my t-mobile mda ll and have run into a problem. the phone nolonger recognises any sim card, it just says ' sim card missing or invalid' i did the unlock under wm6, have reinstalled wm5 but this does not help.
does anyone know how to solve this or have i just bricked my phone

Maybe you upgrade the AKU 3,3???
The lokwiz work only the IPL 2 (aku 2.0)
Can you write the unlock cod in MDA C II???

i have the latest t-mobile rom so probably not aku 2.
is there any way to downgrade to aku 2. i have searched the forums with no joy.

You cant downgrade to boot v2 if you have already upgraded it to v3.x. Thats the answer I got from T-mobile.

Download the Lokwiz03!
If the folder have 2 bin fajl,then delete.
Run lockwiz
then write the unlock code
You put the other SIM (not T-mobile)
Write the PIN and then look the UNLOCK you must press.
Then write THE UNLOCK CODE and you have the UNLOCKED phone .
This Work with IPL 3 (AKU 3,3 T-mobile rom)

(unless of course you unlocked the CID already, back in the day when it there was only v1.x )

I had the same problem.

Downgrade SPL 3.08 to ver2 or ver1

Does anybody have a good solution how to downgrade SPL 3.08 to version 2 or 1

G4 or G3? CID locked or unlocked?
Best is to use original ROM from provider to downgrade. In any case be sure to go from 3.08 to 2.xx and only then to 1.xx (although i see no point for going so low, except for G3 CID unlock)

In this case it is G3 phone.
The problem is that I cant install WM6 firmware and I suspect that the phone is not unlocked properly.
I dont have any ROM from original provider.

Use WST to check the CID status. But i suspect that it is already CID unlocked or you wouldn't be able to write a 3.08 SPL to it (unless you used an original provider's ROM to upgrade)

I used WST and it said that Phone is CID locked
But i could unlock it anyway with WST!
