what Version Rom are you running?
yes, i need it too. i just updated to Mistki's ROM and it has no tmobile setting at all.
just call tmobile's wireless data group dept and ASK them for the mms settings
they don't need the settings the option FOR mms is gone from a few firmwares...
This is the link for the T-Mo extended rom
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Extended_Roms/TMo-US-Ext_ROM.zip
Unzip it and the file you need should be in there. If you need the mms composer, I think this is it
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/ArcsoftMMS_3.0.7.6.cab
Mind you I'm not sure if this will help at all, how did you loose your MMS settings in the first place if I may ask?
An actual answer to the original question is:
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Messaging server: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Port: 8080
WAP Version: 2.0
Connection: The Internet (assuming that's your primary connection)
This is also easily found in about a million places via a google search.
has anyone been able to make MMS and AKU3.2 work togeather if so how?
Yes I have. You either have to manually configure it or get the cab files are for you carrier. Who is your carrier?
If it is Cingular follow this link and thank Shogun Mark.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=280395
T-mobile is the carrier
Try these cabs. I extracted these from and extended ROM on the FTP.
thanks barry trying now
should i install in certain order and what do they do?
No particular order just do them all at once. They should confugure your mms server settings so that they will send and use the proper server.
yes, those cabs i posted are what i consider necessary cingular cabs, one does the mms, one does the media net and isp connections, the other does the mappings.. order shouldnt matter but if you wanted to do them in order of the cingular ext rom it would be like this
P_Conn_CWS_APR12_Wizard.cab
P_Cingular_CM_Mappings_10411101.sa.cab
MP-Customization-Wizard(AKU2.0)-CingularWithCamera-060406.CAB
i have personally installed them in any order i feel like at the time and it does still work
You didn't specify which T-Mobile you were using. If it's T-Mo US, I got the info for you inf you don't want to use the cabs:
1. Make this RegKey to enable editing of the MMS Settings (may be there already):
HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\UI\EnableServerEdit
Change value to 1.
2. Here are the settings from the stock T-Mo US 2.26 ROM:
Name: T-Mobile MMS
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080
Server Address: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Connect via: T-Mobile MMS (My SDA (Tornado) uses "Internet")
Max. Sending Size: 300K
WAP Version: WAP 2.0

The option is in Messenging.
* Go to any of your messaging types (Outlook Mail, Text Messages, Yahoo! Mail, etc.)
* Select Tools-->Options
* Select MMS and either tap it with stylus, or select it with the D-Pad
* Select the "Server" tab and you can create/modify settings
That's what I tried

the value for the key is already one and like most other testing 3.2 i have no way to input the settings for MMS
MMS configurations (settings)
i was able to get the MMS configurations on my phone using CAB-MMS20020-Alpine-ENU-21DEC04.CAB but once configed i still cant send or receive.
do i use the GPRS connection for mms or do i need to setup a wap2 connection?
i have molskis rom *not the 30mb* on a g4 wizard..... and ive used shoguns cab files which work great for media net settings.... i get the mms folders, i will show that its sending.. but just dissapers.. .and it stays in my outbox..... then sometimes i get a message back saying user barred... me and shogunmark are both baffled by this
Does anybody have MMS settings for Cingular BLUE?
TIA,
i recently got a Vario III from T-mobile its been unlocked to any network and now i have an O2 UK sim card in it. The problem i have is that i can not send any mms messages. I asked O2 to send me the settings. They said they'll have to send by e-mail. 2 settings were send to me one for internet which works fine and the second one was for mms. Unfortunately the second setting was an instruction to click on a button that is only availible on their XDA stellar. I repeatly asked for O2 mms manual settings but they kept sending me the same thing. I resorted to keying my own settings in that i found on the web.
Under mms settings server tab.
Server name: O2UK
Gateway: 193.113.200.195
Port number: 9201
Server address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connects via: o2 (The internet settings which works fine)
Send limit: 300k
WAP Version: WAP 2.0
Even with these settings i am still unable to send or recieve MMS messages. I suspect the icon button that O2 are asking me to click on is a cab file thats stored on the XDA Stellar maybe this cab file is my solution?
Any help would be welcome.
9 months ago I upgraded from a Mini S to a Trion. The Mini S didn't have the correct settings in it, so I had to install them manually.
However, I never managed to get it completely right. Sure they worked, I could receive and send MMS messages, then I found that it was going over the "wrong" connection and was costing me both messages and data, so do watch out for that one.
On my new Stellar, it does seem to be working with no side effects, although it switches from one thing to another to send MMS messages. I'll try and copy out the data I have on mine. If you need more, do ask...
Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Connections
"My ISP" -> Manage connection
Name "Mobile Web",
Modem Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access point mobile.o2.co.uk
Username O2web
Password (Think it is "password", see here)
Domain <empty>
-> Advanced
TCP/IP-> Use server assigned IP, rest deselected
Servers -> DNS 193.113.200.200 193.113.200.201
"My Work Connection" -> Manage Connection
Name "O2 Active"
Modem Cellular (GPRS, 3G)
Access point wap.o2.co.uk
Username o2wap
Password (Probably "password" again)
Domain <empty>
-> Advanced
TCP/IP -> As above
Servers -> "Use server assigned addresses"
Start -> Messaging -> Menu -> MMS Options -> Servers
Name "O2 UK"
Gateway 193.113.200.195
Port 8080
Server Address http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connect via "My Work Network"
Send Limit 300k
Wap version 2.0
Hopefully all that makes sense if you work through it.
"My ISP" are the internet settings are that I use to browse the web. "My Work Network" appears to be O2's WAP settings and is used to send MMS messages, so it looks like you might need to use it for that.
I'll also have a look and see if I can find the cab you were on about.
I hope that helps.
Please forgive the double post, I expected it to take longer to find.
I honestly don't know what each of these do, but they are all the cabs I found in /windows. I am assuming the smaller ones are the actual configurations themselves and the O2 Custom thing is the application that will install everything else. The "plugin order" cab file makes me wonder if this also has a bunch of today plugins attached to it, but I honestly don't know (I haven't hard reset without installing the extRom and have not used any other WM6 devices).
Does WM6 come with a bunch of today screen plugins for things like running programs etc... ? (ie beyond dat/time, calendar, tasks and messaging). Before this I only used WM5, so I don't know if you're going to get a bunch of extra today plugins tagging along (they aren't *bad*, they're just pointless if you read these forums as you'll no doubt either get better for free or have bought something like Mobile Shell).
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks for your help. I aligned all my settings to the same as yours but made no progress what happens is the message tries to send and is placed in the outbox but never succeeds. So I had a look though the cab files you kindly uploaded, the only file that looked like it maybe the one i need is MP_MMS4.0_O2UK_POSTPAID_Kaiser_070809.cab. So i ran it from my memory card the result was not good. the mms doesn't even go to outbox now. hehe. oh well i could always restore the rom and maybe stick to a t-mobile sim card if a want to send mms. unless you have any other suggestions?
Am i the only person trying to use a Vario III with a O2 sim? Surely there are others but i guess mms messages aren't a function people use that often.
The following page on the O2 website allows you to have the settings sent direct to your phone as an SMS:
http://getsettings.o2.co.uk/ServeSettingsWebApp/
I'm not an O2 user, so don't know if this works or not. Sorry if you've already tried this.

Hang on, you on payasyougo? Am fairly sure they have different usernames and passwords, access points etc.....
Try again as above, but with the following change in the relevant section.
"My Work Connection" -> Manage Connection
Name "O2 Active"
Modem Cellular (GPRS, 3G)
Access point payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username payandgo
Password (Probably "password" again)
Domain <empty>
-> Advanced
TCP/IP -> As above
Servers -> "Use server assigned addresses"
The "My ISP" settings will also probably need to be changed, but you said you had that working so I shall assume you know more about that than me.

On top of this you need to go through a specific proxy as follows:
HTTP: 193.113.200.195 Port 8080
WAP: 193.113.200.195 Port 9201
Secure WAP: 193.113.200.195 Port 9203
Socks: 193.113.200.195 Port 1080
Also a note, I wasn't able to get MMS working untill I Flashed to Dutty's WM 6.1 Hybrid ROM

Good shout. My phone keeps setting my HTTP and socks proxy to 127.0.0.1 in order to match the desktop computer (stupid, stupid activesync) so I had ignored it. I didn't realise there were more settings in there that could be relevant.
It seems the very important ones are the WAP and secure WAP proxies (which activesync doesn't seem to be configured to break). Mine are set to the values given by Audio.

Unfortunately O2 can't send mms settings to kaiser and probably not any phone that uses WM6 but it was worth a try. thanks
Cavey: I'm on contract with o2 so the initial settings you gave me should work but doesn't. i've tried keying Audio's proxy settings in too, but still no luck. I also restored the phone to its factory settings then re-keyed all the settings in, the result is still negative.
As you mentioned, O2 are charging for the unsuccessful attemps of sending mms. I have 500 sms but 1 mms = 4 sms. i'm running out fast so i think i'll give it a rest for not until my allowance resets.
Maybe i'll follow in Audio's tracks and install a Dutty rom. only had the Vario III for less than 1 month though and know very little about flashing the rom on this phone.
Cheer's for everyone's help for now.
FINALLY!!!!!
I can send and receive mms on my (unlocked) t-mobile TYTN III using an O2 sim card. All of Cavey's setting were right the only difference is I had my phone flashed by T-mobile from wm6.0 to wm6.1
I was having alot of trouble with the phone as i was no longer a T-mobile customer hence the O2 sim card, they were reluctant to do and repairs for me, but the phone was still under 1 year so definately under their warranty.
For those interested in the problem i was having. All i had to do to cause the phone to crash was do a hard reset via the little hole at the bottom of the screen. The problem then arise.
-only be able to make 1 call before i need to reset again
-screen won't tilt when i slide out keyboard.
-if any event starts the phone vibrating it wouldn't stop vibrating till the battery runs dead
Solutions:
-don't do a hard reset (not always possible) plus the problem can randomly occur.
-hard reset the phone whilst charging
If anyone fall under the circumstance whereby they are no longer under contract with T-mobile, but the phone is still under warranty. Tmobile will have to honor it. Receipts will help you prove this. They'll say things like its impossible to send your phone to repair, because you don't have a t-mobile number for them to setup the repair form, but it can be done. They'll have to assign a PAYG sim (provided by the shop) to the phone. That's basically it.
Anyway after all that i have a new rom and it accepts the mms settings that cavey posted for me. Been such a long time my O2 contract is almost up and I'm looking at new phones.
Thanks to Cavey, Audio and fisha21
Hey guys, I posted this in general as well. I couldn't find anything for the life of me on it so I apologize if it's in here but I searched for about an hour. I got MMS working with manila 2.5 for Tilt 2. Here is the post.
Hey guys, here it is. I was beat last night.
http://thewingster.com/mmsfixm25.aspx
First use that link and download the OTHER networks fix by Valkyrie/Ace10134.
This will create a SampleMMSC MMS server in addition to the ATT one. Once that is done, go to all messages in you text messaging, then menu, then options. Once in this menu, hit menu again and hit MMS server. Here is where you need to put your settings and I think where the issue on the other fix has been. ATT's send limit is 600KB while Manila 2.5 defaults to 1024kb.
Server name: Whatever the hell you want it to be.
IP address: wireless.cingular.com
Port number: 80
Server address: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Connect via: MEdia Net
Send limit: 600 KB
WAP version: WAP 2.0
Let me know how this works for you guys. Make sure you actually have the phone set to use the new MMS server too =)
If this does the trick for it some one cab it up for me please. I can't right now. Good luck guys. Let me know if this does the trick for you. I have sent many of MMS fine.
mms fix
Please post to links for users to try thanks.
For those who can't receive at&t mms:
I used the PR MMS MediaNet settings tool available on XDA
Go to Settings>Connections>Connections
Delete all data connections before running the tool
Use the device Network Setup Tool to make your primary connection.
Run the PR MediaNet MMS tool to set the size limites
After setting up the connection create a new connection in com manager
Use Work Connection
Use these settings
Connection Cellular GRPS 3G
Name I used MediaNet No Proxy
APN wap.cingular
Username [email protected]
Passwork CINGULAR1
Do not use the proxy settings for this
Have all internet applications go to this connection do that in your com manager
Go into your mms options in messaging click servers click at&t mms make sure MediaNet is still the connection for send/receive mms
now it will send receive mms using the at&t proxy and the internet for other apps without the proxy
hi all am new to the android scene, i have just purchased the HTC Legend, and cannot access the internet, i can only access the internet through wifi, so any help would be very gratefull i am on o2 many thanks in advance
Moved as not ROM Development.
Attached o2 pre-pay settings .cab install to device and run will set up GRPS & MMS, has restrictions as o2 doesn't allow email retrieval.
If you don't use MMS you can use these GPRS Settings.
o2
Access Point: payandgo.o2.co.uk
Use Name: vertigo
Password: password
Then you get email.
Hope that helps.
mms settings
thanks for your help they have worked a treat you really do know your stuff thanks once again
That's cool just happy to help
Mem when moved to o2 the amount of trouble it was to set up till found .cab then, the email problem to which sometimes would sporadically work, to then finding the vertigo settings and being happy, trade MMS for Email any day
