it is possible to find out how bootloader i have on my wizard ?
G3 or G4 ?
you have to give more information for us to be able to tell you...
when you start up your phone, tell us what numbers show up
IPL:
SPL:
GSM:
OS:
and then someone can help you out...
or
you could try the search function, there is alot of info out there for newbies, you just have to read.
I read through this forum for a month before I flashed my Wizard, and it went very successfully.

I just recently changed my phone from the 8700C to 8125. I am planning to up uprade the ROM on my phone. Can anyone please tell me the step by step instruction how to do this? I read somewhere that I need to unlock the CID? Is that the same as unlocking my phone? Do I first need to call cingular to the subsidy unlock code? My phone has this info:'
IPL: 1.08
SPL: 1.08
OS: 1.8.11.1
GSM: 01.16.11

Doesn't sound stupid, you ask really good questions. The only problem is that it sounds inconsiderate.
The answers to every question you have are here already. All you need to do is read (and use the search function --> see top of page).
Everyone here was once a newbie. Many of us jumped in a just thought we could ask and have all of our questions automagically answered. In reality we discovered that if we put in a littel effort to search and wade through the mounds of info here we got better responses for the experienced guys. Eventually some of us even got experienced ourselves!
If you are wanting to do more than just flash the latest Cingular Rom then please spend a week or two reading the forums.

Trust me, you'll be happier in the end.
I say all of this because flashing custom roms does void your warranty and many newbies have cried about turning their nice new phone into a brick becuase they didn't want to invest the time to learn about the process.

If your IPL and SPL looks like X.XX you have a G3
If they look like X.XX.000X you have a G4
btw, you can see the IPL and SPL right after you soft-reset your device

For a wizzard i don't know if a g4 can be unlocked.
Otherwise try http://www.imei-check.co.uk/
I unlocked my prophet g4 there with succes.

So,i reset my device and looked at the IPL and SPL version numbers that occur during startup Is

SPL 2.25
GSM 02.25 11
OS 2.25.11.1
WHICH ONE I HAVE I AM CANFUSING AND I REALLY WANNA SOMEONE TO HELP ME PLEASE!

We cant help if you dont want to read...i think you have g3...but do you it at your risk and brick it, if you are too lazy to read...
Iam not lazy or anything like that i spend 2 days already just to find out but which version i have G3 Or G4 But,i didn't find anything,thats the reasan why i asked for help becuz i can't find any Info about my phone!!
i already looked on *wikis, the stickies* But,i didn't find it!
On wikis, the stickies it say's g3 or g4 and other numbers and XxX and more 000 i dont have none of the numbers above how do i know which one i have? thats why i asked for help!

Instead of starting a new thread and asking this question,spend some time and read the forum,help yourself,don't be a lame,this forum is full with this question & answers.First find out which is your device a G3 or G4,then read how to SIM/CID unlock a G3 phone and upgrade to wm6,if its a G4 find out how to upgrade to wm6,cuz it cannot be CID unlocked.

And tried to determine what version of IPL/SPL I have, but I don't get anything with IPL and or SPL on it.
Here is some info, I hope someone can figure it out from all of this........
On boot:
HTC
Innovation
M 05
S 04
B 06
D 1.31
R 1.20.21.10
G 32.52.7020.00H
I had to switch it on and off a million times to catch all the above data. Phew!
The phone is an Imate Jasjam.
And the device info id's it as a HERM100
Rom version 1.31.305.2 date 09/08/06
ExtRom version 1.31.305.103
