install G4 Rom in G3 wzard ?

is it possible ? will it brik the ppc ?? why there is 2 versions of cooked rom G3 and G4 ? 2 many quetions i know !! sorry but if its possible i want 2 understand

I read your previous posts, where you almost bricked your phone on both occasions, if this is your next trial.........
Read trough all the last posts concerning G4, like search: G4.
Or maybe it's simpler to just drop your phone
answer to your questions: no, yes, because there are G3 and G4 phone's, why.

search: G4 = no result ??? don't understand why ????? you can try yourself !
i've broked my wizard before and had a big chance because iv got annother one from the provider but the new one is a G3 not a G4 as the first
i know it because i haven't the 0001 after IPL 2.21 / SPL 2.21 !
so far i know the G4 cooked ROMs are IPL / SPL free! so we can use them with G3 and G4 wizard. i'm i wrong ?

To be honest, I don't know. But if you have a G3, why you want to put there a G4 ROM.......

I think the search-word musst have at least 4 letters.

just to be sure there will be no danger for my phone because if the G4 ROM is IPL SPL free this will be more safe for my wizard i'm i wrong ?
and I realy want to understand !!!
ps: i have to upgrade it because it's german ROM and i don't like it, i need English or French ROM

As long as your phone is CID unlocked G3 device then it should be fine. I did flash mine with G4 ROM Risidoro cooked rom and everything runs smoothly.
Except i cannot find the extended_rom in the total commander, i dont know if this is becoz im flashing the G4 Rom onto the G3 device or not.
anyways from the info i got from this site is that, if your phone CID unlocked and G3 chip then you should be free to use any ROMS you want.

I can't say if my phone is CID unlocked or not ? how 2 know ??? before when i had the G4 Wizard i tried with a French rom 2.17 but it coudn't install untill i used nb2nbf to cook it, then i use the same thing with all roms i tried all was Ok till i brok it by downgrading to 1.10 rom i didn't konw that G4 or G3 > 2.21 can't be CID Unlocked !
now they changed my wizard with a new one but it is G3 don't konw why ??? but i have another problème the keypad is "fool " when i press

i think i will return it again but before i have to reflash it with the original ROM. i've download it. i will cook it with Tipho5 + nb2nbf to deleet the IPL & SPL just to avoid briking it again !

I did CID unlocked my G3 with 2.25 IPL/SPL from Cingular:
first, i did the sim unlock using lokiwiz3a: copy the enablerapi.cab on my device, run it, then run the .bat thing from desktop. use sim card from other provider, enter the unlock code. sim unlocked done.
second, downgrade using the custom rom, CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe
then I did the CID unlock using lokiwiz2b. again copy the enablerapi.cab, run it..then run the .bat thing from desktop. done. my ipl/spl become: 1.05/2.25 if im not mistaken...anyways after that i did flash it with Molski ROM for G3 device to make the ipl/spl to 2.26.
then lastly after that i did some rom flashing using aku 3.2, molski, and lastly the risidoro one.
i know from this forum that the only know that you know that the CID is unlocked is by flashing with other ROMS (not the ROMS for G4 devices).

I think because your device is 3G all went good happy for you ! but i broke my G4 using exactly as you did, it deads after the first boot when i downgrade to downgrading to CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe
so G4 chips don't accept to be downgraded ...
what do you think about the probleme i have in my keypad ?

and when i press the button 1 for the Messaging = 2 app start in the same time : Messaging and Camera
when i change the button 1 with ( eg: contact ) the 2 app are lunched contact and Camera !!!
is there any solution ? is it a hardware probleme or just a soft ?

Finly the keyboard is ok ! ! ! I oppened my wizard, Disassembled it, cleaned all contactacts and nappes, then Assembled it !
but i still want 2 know the difference between G4 & G3 cooked ROMs .. just IPL& SPL or something else ???

Hi i need help ok i belive my phone is a g4. the phone is locked to cingualr i think. the rom is 2.25.11.1 wwe. ok well i want to update my rom to another 1 so i tried unlocking the cid and i tihnk i did it but when i tried updating a another rom it says that theirs an error in the update utilty PLZ if some 1 has AIM i need help on what to do plZ HELP ME

I will be the first to tell you...read the stickys
Second off you do have a G4 phone, which can be a little tricker flashing, I would try and use one of Molskis Roms for the G4, should upgrade easily. If you are getting that error, then you may have downloaded a 3g one.
Be careful, i broke my first 8125 by bricking it trying to flash it.

Well, can any rom go onto a G4 device? I was reading up on farias new windows crossbow themed rom, an AK2 based rom...
will this work properly on my G4 8125 currently with Cingulars 2.26 rom? Ive been reading these posts, but cant keep up with them all lol

For what it is worth, Shogunmark has been personally helping you. Also, if you are using anything other than Cingular's ROM you run the very real risk of the "missing calls, tons of voicemail" issue. You are probably better off just waiting for a better ROM from Cingular until the challenge has been sorted out.

When it comes to flashing you need to read and fully understand what you are about to do to your phone. Its also very important to know whether its a G3 or G4. Judging by the error you recieved there is 1 of 2 things here, either:
A: you have a G4 and need to check out the G4 section for roms available to you. or
B: You did not successfully cid unlock your phone. So see A

Upgrading to Windows Mobile 6

I've currently got WM5 and want to upgrade to WM6.
I've read the ROM upgrade threads and have the latest versions already in my K-JAM.
Is it as simple now as installing WM6 or is there anything additional to do?

Thanks for the reply. Reading the Wiki I've found out that its a G3. The rest of the versions follow according to the startup screen. Apologies, I should have posted these originally (I intended to but got distracted).

Aweeee !!!
You got a G4 device,better not download T-Mobile 2.26 Rom and flash it to your device,it'll certainly 'BRICK' your phone as it includes IPL/SPL 2.26,which is meant for G3 devices. IPL/SPL 2.26 are DOC chip 2.xx.xxx G3 Bootloaders,where as your device has DOC chip 2.xx.xxx1 G4 Bootloaders,see the difference ?,if you flash a G3 IPL/SPL 2.xx.xxx to your phone with IPL/SPL 2.xx.xxx1 G4 device,it will certainly Brick the phone.
Secondly, a G4 device cannot be CID unlocked like a G3 device,infect never try to CID unlock your phone. If you want to upgrade there's a method for upgrading a G4 device called 'SoftSPL & HardSPL'
Read the stickies in the G4 forum for this method.

The T-Mobile ROM will not brick your G4. It has both the G3 and the G4 IPL/SPL files and will install the appropriate ones. Try the wizard wiki, you may be able to find a download link for it there. I just checked all of the sites that I have bookmarked that would have it but didn't find it, sorry.

that links works well, but you need valid T-mobile USA phone # (or guess, get any one phone is ok)

Iam not lazy or anything like that i spend 2 days already just to find out but which version i have G3 Or G4 But,i didn't find anything,thats the reasan why i asked for help becuz i can't find any Info about my phone!!
i already looked on *wikis, the stickies* But,i didn't find it!
On wikis, the stickies it say's g3 or g4 and other numbers and XxX and more 000 i dont have none of the numbers above how do i know which one i have? thats why i asked for help!
