Connecting XDA2i to other phone via Bluetooth - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i General

Hope someone can help!
I have an XDA that i have been using for the last year or so but I have now changed to a sony k800i, I still want to use the XDA for SAT Nav as i purchased tomtom to go with it.
The problem is I do not want to have a 2nd contract for a sim card to use in the XDA to get traffic updates but I do still want them as I still have a subscription, So I want to connect my XDA to my Sony K800i via bluetooth so it can use GPRS on sony to get updates.
Does anyone have any idea how is the best way to do this.
?any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Bluetooth problem.

Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to send items from my old phone (Sony Ericsson W910i) to my new XDA Stellar but for some reason everytime I try and send anything to my XDA it appears to fail. Is there some simple reason for this or is it something I am doing wrong?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Just one other thing. Is there any way I can disable the XDA Stellar from turning off after two minutes. I notice that if I am signed into Windows Live Messenger it'll disconnect after two minutes of not using the phone causing the connection to fail. Thanks again.
auto recieve incomming beams have to be on for bluetooth transfers being recieved
if you bluetooth is set to be always on your battery life will be rather short
Success. Thanks for the help

[Q] Galaxy Tab Sprint - how to use bluetooth internet?

Hello people!
I've got my Galaxy Tab from US and now i'm really dissapointed, because it is CDMA-version. There is no CDMA-providers in my area.
You could think that it's simplier to sell this device on eBay and buy european, but it's really hard in Russia. Our major postal service is worst, in the best way they will deliver your item in US in a couple of months, but there is big chance to loose it quite.. and there's no responsibility..
So maybe someone knows the way to attach cellphone via bluetooth and use external 3G-internet? I think it's called DUN-client, but i can't find it.
Also i want to know if i can add other languages in Android. I applied 'custom-locale' from Market and set Russian, but the most part of interface (General settings, Calendar, etc) still in English.
Thanks!
I was curious of doing to same. Is there a way to, lets say get a blackberry to share its internet via bluetooth to the tab?
if you have a rooted android phone you can use wireless tether, it supports both BT and WIFI tethering

Rooted phone and no wifi

So i have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S from Bell and i love the phone. I noticed it was laggy and thats how i found this forum. Today i downloaded superoneclick and rooted the phone. I have installed the lagfix and the phone is working great except for one issue.
Before i rooted the phone my wifi worked fine, now it shows its connected to the wifi but i get a network error message whenever i tried to use the market, browse the internet ect. My wireless router is working fine, another Galaxy S in the house has no troubles accessing it. If i disable the wifi the 3G connection works just fine on the phone. Any idea what i did and how the heck do i fix it? I dont really want to get involved with a repair from Bell at this point.
Thanks in advance for any replys or advice.
install app called droid wall and then mark all apps to work on wi-fi if that is not working than flash new rom and kernel

I would guess that it's an unsuccessful root. Rooting shouldn't affect Wifi.

[Q] Help - Wifi tethering from iPhone 3gs

Hi all,
I am from Aussie land. I am proud owner of a Nook Color. I got it on Saturday. (one of my friend traveling to America got it for me.) I was following the website from last two weeks and I would like to thank you all for such a wonderful website with lot of information.
I rooted and installed lot of apps my NC yesterday. I am very impressed by it.
I have one question about Wifi. I hope you guys can help me. I have an iPhone 3gs and I followed the instructions on this thread "AdHoc Wifi support on the NC!" [FIX] AdHoc Wifi support on the NC! - xda-developers
I was able to work it out. My NC is recognizing my iPhone but is not able connect. Is there any alternative method?
I was wondering if it is possible to tether internet from my iPhone to NC from the microSd port. I was thinking of using a usb female to microsd adapter/converter or a usb female-female adapter to connect iPhone usb cable to NC. Will this work?
I live in country side and both these adapters are not available in my town. I will have to buy them online. I want to know if this will work in the mean while.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Not with any cables.
the only way to do this is to share your internet connection via wifi.
this will probably be availible in the next firmware update 4.3 wich is currently in beta testing.
otherwise you can jailbreak your phone and install mywi through the CydiaStore which will also allow you to do tethering through a wifi hotspot.
Thanks Diemex. I did jailbreak my iPhone and and installed mywi and then followed the AdHoc Wifi support on the NC instructions. My NC is recognising my iphone but is not connecting. It says obtaining address for a long time and then disconnects.
Keep messing with it. It works using mywi on my iPhone.

Thanks eyecrispy. I deleted the adhoc fix and also Mywi and reinstalled both. Bazinga! its working now. Thank you.
hmmm
I have the same exact issue and no matter what I do.. it doesn't work. I will try reinstalling again - perhaps the Mywi is not working properly or something... thx for the hope this can work!

wifi direct in XSP does not support direct file transfer
u need to install app to send or receive the files
as it does not have in built ftp protocol
use SUPERbeam for file sharing
You will need to install file commando on both devices
thx guys, but shouldnt it be like industry standard now?.. i mean, i can install the apps youre suggesting and push my friends to do it to, but, say, what if i want to share something with a relative or something, i cant just tell everybody to install some app in order to share stuff.
If thats the solution at this time, thats cool, but i hope Sony addresses this on the future.
Thanks a lot guys
