SPV M3100 - MicroSD problem - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Am I doing something wrong or can't these things dynamicaly recognise the insertion of a microSD card??
When I put in one of my microSD cards, I then have to fully re-boot the SPV to enable it's use. Is this normal or do I need to switch something ON?

Problems with WM2003 upgrade & MMC memory.

Ever since I did upgrade to WM2003 on xda1 I cannot use Twinmos mmc cards which worked before, also I have other sd cards that refuse to work or have weird problems when using certain programs that work ok with other memory cards, all of these cards work with xda2 or ipaq. Does this mean that the drivers have been altered to support less media types in WM2003 for some reason.

Did a Molski's 2.26 rom, AKU 2.3 and now can't see my MiniSD Storage card

After having some totally invaluable help from risidoro (grazie mille) I have managed to take my phone from brick to better than ever. The only small draw back is that now I can't see the storage card at all. Has anyone else coma accross this. Is there a way to get it back?
try taking it out and put it back in a couple of times, and try blowing out dust from the cartridge. This happens sometimes...
I tried that a few times to no avail..any other ideas?
If you can test the card out by insterting it into a PC that would assure you that it isn't corrupt and you still have the data.
I also had this problem and blowing very hard into the slot to remove dust sorted it out.

Taking that further, if you CAN read the data from your PC, backup the data to a folder on your PC, format the SC and copy the data back. Has happened to me once...
Unfortunately the PC seems to read everything but miniSD.
I'm all puffed out too.
Do you know a way of formatting the card from the Wizard?
Your ideas are greatly appreciated.

If you can't see it I doubt tat you can format it... why can't the PC read it?
It doesn't have a miniSD slot!

I'd go and buy one then.....
Is it at all possible that the format of my old 512Mb Kingston miniSD card is not compatible with the latest ROM/OS?
I will probably buy a new card which would work/would you recommend?
Integral 1GB MINI SD Card + Adapter
SanDisk Ultra II 1GB High Speed MINI SD Card + Adapter (60x Speed)
The latter has around 30% faster read and write speeds.
IPL: 2.26
SPL: 2.26
GSM:02.47.11
ROM: 2.26.10.2 WWE
PROTOCOL: 4.1.13.24
You should try to use SDFormatter

I believe the formatter isn't wm5 compatible? I wondered about the possibility of a card compatibility problem.
try different device that accepts either minisd or SD (you should have miniSD to SD adapter right?) and check if it's discoverable by the device - if yes FORMAT IT
if not try miniSD or SD card reader hooked up to PC - if it sees it - FORMAT IT
if PC/camera/etc sees it and Wizard doesn't there's something is wrong with the Wizard and maybe whatever u did to bring it back "alive" messed it up.
it's definitely not molski's ROM - i flashed my device at least 20 times with and without( ) SD card in the slot and everything worked fine.
Purchase a mini sd-card reader, backup your info, reformat your card in my computer.
If your computer does not read your card, it's probably defective. I've tried all the ROMs in the wizard upgrading forum (except Ells..no disrespect) and haven't come accross one ROM that I couldn't use my card with.

DEFINITELY check the card with a card reader FIRST!! I'd much rather spend $10 - $20 for a card reader than fork out $60 - $80 for another card -- especially if I found out I didn't need to.
Had the same problem several months ago when I first bought my 8125. Purchased 2 cards off Ebay, but phone wouldn't recognize either one of them. Popped them in my card reader, and they STILL weren't recognized. Had to send BOTH cards back and get them replaced. The replacements have worked like a charm ever since, though.
Thanks for all your thoughts, I've discovered a strange behavious that points more blame to the card; I never thought it was the ROM..I just thought as I'd bought the miniSD so long ago it might not have been compatible still!
I digress; with the miniSd in the phone locks up completely when I enable WLAN: the reset then sets the phone to midnight on the ROM date. Take it out and everything works fine and dandy.
I'll buy a reader presently and run the formatting program and hopefully beguile you with tales of the unmitigated success of the venture.
Until then, my humblest thanks.
Bought a reader, no joy, new card did the trick, all good now!

SD Card Write Issue

Hi All,
I have used Imate PDA2 for around 2 years never got any issue, recently (2 month ago) I found the issue that i can't write anything to SD Memory Card, Reading from the SD memory Card in Alpine is fine, the Card itself is fine (tested in PC).
Looks like to be an issue with it's pin's not getting connected while card is inserted in unlock state.
Does anyone know which pins on board can be solded togather to permanenlty make the Card Reader into write mode ? or any other hints ?
Regards,
Tipu

Att Tilt 8925 not seeing sdhc card after hard reset

Hi Guys, I had a problem with my phone so i did a hard reset and lost all of the stuff i bought the phone with i got 99% of it back with the help of the threads here. Thanks Guys! but my memory card slot on the phone will not read the card through the pc or the phones software. please help!
Have you verified that the SD card is working? Try it somewhere else?
Yes i put my card into my brother in laws sidekick and he could play all of my files and i put his 2 gb micro sd (not hc) and my tilt read his card fine so i think one of my settings files is screwed im kind of a noob to winmo but im alright at windows
I would suggest that first you put the sd card into a PC, and check the file system on it for errors and repair them if any are found. That will often take care of the problem.
Otherwise, like my tilt, it could be a hardware problems. I can no longer read SD cards at all, even though the phone knows when I insert and remove a card, it won't recognize it as storage.

Micro Sd Card Slot
Hi, I no some windows phone 7, phone have micro sd card slots but it was not confirmed that the HD7 has it. Do you know anything??
I believe it won't come with and SD Card slot.
You can't use your own SD cards with Windows Phone 7. So even if the Phones have something like a reachable slot, it's only made so OEMs can equip the phone with larger pre-built cards.

Not true. WP7 phones equipped with a SD card slot can be upgraded to a bigger card. BUT you will need to hard reset the phone in order to get the new card recognised.
There are several sites out there reporting this.
http://wmpoweruser.com/htc-hd7-microsd-slot-exposed/
there seems to be a card slot under the bit of plastic on the back - the lower half of the battery cover section, the part with hd7 and windows phone written on it - but you need to take out a bunch of screws and one of them has a void sticker on it - so guessing it voids the warranty if you do
A little warning :
after you upgraded your phone with a new sd card you can't use that card any-more ad this time (your pc won't recognize it and you can not format it to )
