Help Mapping Keys - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Ok I'm trying to map keys in games like Doom and Duke Nukem but I can't seem to find out what the codes or # values of each key is. For instance in both games I can map the soft keys without a problem but not the Internet or Messages keys. I would also like to mape the volume slider for something like strafe or jump/crouch.
Is there anykind of list or documentation of this?

sooo....no one has any ideas?

Gameloft Games

Games usually needs the up,down, left, right, select buttons (mapped to 2,8,4,6 and 5 respectively) which are very nicely designed on the front of the kaiser.
But most GameLoft games (makes some good damn games) that I have played require 1 or 3 to be pressed for jumping or other action moves. Currently there is no way to play without sliding the keyboard out, and pressing fn+[key] just for that and flip back.
Is there any way to map those keys on lets say the "e" and "mail" buttons or anywhere else. Any alternative would be awesome!

Jog Wheel key press assigning [RESOLVED]

Hi all,
Just got my Tytn 2 for about a month, still trying to play around with it.
I've just installed S2U2 ver 1.21, and they got this cool feature of Volume Control.
I wish to assign the Volume Control to the Jog Wheel key press, but is there a way to do so?
I've tried with 3rd party software like AE Button Plus & HotButton Plus, but neither of them have any options to assign task to the Jog Wheel key press.
Can any expert help out this noob please? Like registry edit or something? Appreciate a lot.
Solution Found
After playing around for a longer period, managed to find the jog wheel hardware key as #0086.
Thus, able to use AE Button Plus to assign volume control to the Jog Wheel key press

Configure hardware buttons for gfDoom

Hey guys, i just spent like an hour trying to figure this damn thing out but i cant seem to do it!
here's the game, gfDoom,
http://home.freeuk.com/gamefreaks/pql/gfDoom.htm
just FYI.
I'm attaching the "keyboard" skin for the game, which allows landscape and i'm quite happy with it. The only problem is in landscape i cant see a way to save the game, or exit the game.
By default for Touch Pro, landscape
VOLUME DOWN = OPEN DOOR (which is fine)
BACK BUTTON/OK BUTTON = SHOOT (also fine)
Other hardkey buttons unmapped.
doesnt need a map button since on screen, bottom left corner activates the map
now i'm trying to map the pause/menu button to one of the hardkeys. Make full use of em. Like the enter key and the volume up key. Can someone help me out here? I think one key shud be a letter or something so that can save the game. Like when i wanna save the game i have to type a name.
I have found this link "Keys and Key Codes for Windows Mobile" but am unable to get it to work after several attempts.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb431750.aspx
see attachment for the instructions and the folder containing the skin "Keyboard"
Hopefully someone can help me out by helping me map it out.
Please post results here
bump for attention. i'm sure someone knows these stuff and i'm hoping to learn T.T
bump one more time. maybe i shud ask in raphael main forum section?
Change the title of your thread. It sounds like you're trying to get someone to give you registration keys for software, or something equally illegal. I realize you're not, but I may simply be more curious than the average reader.
Look for a program called HButton. It might do what you're looking for.
Also, it's considered bad form to bump your own threads, unless they fall off the first page without getting responses.

yea it fell off the first page which is why i bumped it.
oh okay will edit thread title.
and btw HButton is to assign apps to hardware buttons. what i need is some help regarding configuring the .txt file for gfDoom to configure Doom controls. what i need is a hardware button for the menu key
Managed to get it working reasonably.
Volume down = FIRE
Volume up = STRAFE (hold down whilst pressing left or right)
OK/Select = OPEN
Back = FULLSCREEN (Toggles between portrait and landscape)
Couldn't seem to map the Call and Call-end buttons successfully.
Having the "Back" button as a full screen button seemed more functional than just using it to pause or quit the game, as from the portrait/keyboard mode you can access these facilities and more (e.g. save, load, exit etc).
Just stick the modded text file in your "KEYBOARD" folder. I've renamed my "KEYBOARD" folder "DEFAULT" so I don't have to use the launcher .exe (configuration tool) and can just use the direct .exe to go straight into the game.
P.s. The game seems to run ever so slightly more smoothly if you disable TF3D (Manila) from: Settings/Today
before launching the game. Simply enable again once you're finished.
In case you want to setup you controls differently, here are the mapping codes for the buttons:
Code:
Button Hex Dec
vol+ 0x75 117
vol- 0x76 118
back 0x5c 92
end 0x73 115
call 0x72 114
ok 0x86 134
up 0x26 38
down 0x28 40
left 0x25 37
right 0x27 39
You need to enter the decimal values within the text file.
i'm actually using the up button to pause game to save etc etc. but i'll definitely try to follow your config for the volume up button. cuz i cant get mine to work. i prefer back as shoot. lets me run around with stylus and shoot/strafe.
I've modded the skin a little further, using the default skins layout and the keyboard skins toolbar (with fullscreen and exit etc)
Attached the skin files...
Made two new skins for GFDOOM from scratch with as much functionality for the Raphael as I could map. I'm quite pelased with them.
One is a Doom themed skin, the other one is to match NRG's EnergyROM theme.

How to use Up, Down, Left & Right functions on keyboard??

I've searched around and was amazed that nobody else mentioned this problem before.
I've only just received my Xperia X1 recently and love everything about it except its keyboard. I've used many phones with a hardware keyboard before, and they all have the standard navigation keys/buttons, like the UP, Down, Left and Right keys.
On the Xperia X1 however, it doesn't have that. But there're 4 keys that actually look similar to the navigation keys layout on a typical keyboard. It's the 8, 0, * and # keys. I'm trying to figure out how to map the navigational functions onto those keys......but can't figure out how.
I could use AEButton Plus but I'm looking for something easier, that doesn't use as much memory as AEButton Plus does.
I'm looking for something similar to the X1BC tweak, which basically uses the "TAB" key and assigns Control functions onto it, so that you can use CTRL+C or CTRL+V etc. Again, this is one of the annoying problems using this keyboard, you would think you can use control copy and paste easily but none of the keys on the keyboard does that, that's why X1BC is a tweak that changes the TAB key on the keyboard to use as the Control function as well.......and that's what i'm looking for, a tweak similar to this but for navigational functions instead.

fingerkeyboard though that might be what you don't want (due to memory consumption)
didn't find anything else yet, don't have much time right now...
thanks for the suggestion, but i don't want touch typing. I wanna use the navigational keys on the hardware keyboard....

[Q] Can the hardware keys be redefined on the Droid 3?

After downloading and playing with a basic vt100 terminal emulator I soon noticed that there is no ctrl key on the hardware keyboard. In order to get a ctrl-c, for example, I have to press and release the volume lowering button to get "ctrl" and then the "c". This is very awkard. Especially with the keyboard fully extended! I later downloaded the hackers keyboard which has a ctrl key but it was not working at the time and I have reported it as a bug. Regardless, I would like the option to use the hwkb to do this. Perhaps this is premature as we don't have root yet, but is there a way to define say alt-shift, or the "ok" key or what ever to be ctrl. Also, while it is nice to have a fifth row of keys with numbers, I would think that these keys should have other functions too. Whatever one likes, i.e. alt 1 for F1 and so forth.
It is possible, there are apps in the Market, or you could hard code it into a ROM, but all of this requires root to my best knowledge, unless we have that I do not believe it is possible, but would be great if root wasn't needed, so if someone knows more hopefully they can let you know, but that's what I know.
search for Button Remapper, it is also on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464
