hi..i have a tmobile mda with the rom 2.26.10.x that i didnt know couldnt be cid unlocked...i found out after i upgraded which sux balls.lolz..i have a few questions...
1.What is the best rom i can upgrade or downgrade without bricking my mda...
2.why is the mda wifi reception bad most of the time resulting on always 1 bar for wifis around me...i even tried the wireless b mod.
3.I know your phone isnt dead if bootloader works but do ihave to use an sd with the rom saved on it in order to reflash my mda again...or can i just use an app that installs it via usb while bootloader is on?? <this one im definitely confused on... Please anyone help asap, thanks so much and much blessing

Here's an answer to part of your problem:
As long as you have a USB connection, you can re-flash your phone (provided it's in either the bootloader or connected to your system via active sync 4.1 (I don't know about the beta 4.5 of active sync - which changed the way your PC connects to your phone as I understand it)). You may have to try several different ROMs to re-flash, but generally, I have found that doing the following almost always guarantee's a re-flash:
1) remove the SIM card
2) after every attempt, disconnect the phone from your USB port and then reconnect it
3) between attempts, remove the battery while you are setting up your system (you can't flash a phone w/ a dead battery, so unless you have a way to charge the battery other than the phone, you need to protect the amount of charge you have like it's your lifeline!)
4) I have had more success re-flashing a phone that is in bootloader mode by using the original ROM .exe file instead of trying to extract the files from it and THEN run the update utility.
5) If your phone came w/ a 2.x ROM, I wouldn't try to downgrade it to a 1.x ROM as this has never worked for me. Try flashing it w/ a 2.x or higher ROM only.
Hope this helps (oh, and rumor has it you should use the USB ports on the back of your PC, not the ones on the side or front!)

Bootloader question/trouble

Hey there everyone, I am pretty new to this forum so I must apologize for throwing you all into the deep end. I recently purchased an o2 XDA mini S second hand from a guy on boards.ie here in Ireland. I got the phone and really liked it because it allowed me to get rid of my Dell Axim X3i and mp3 player and keep it all in one device.
After a little bit of more research I discovered that I could remove some of the bloatware from the o2 xda mini S by just hard resetting and choosing the basic option which I than did. Still not satisfied with the overall performance of the XDA I decided to try a rom upgrade. Not wanting to do a totall overhaul I decided to just do a radio upgrade first.
My device is sim unlocked, it was like that when I bought it. I used the latest wizard service tool to CID unlock the device before I even flashed the phone. I also used the wizard service tool to change the nk.nbf file within the o2 mini S radio update into 96000000-GSM.nb. I then used this file to write to the GSM radio code (Bdk 1) according to the wizard service tool in the hopes that it would upgrade my radio version.
Well when I restarted, nothing of the sort happened, on the boot screen I noticed I was now missing my GSM version and when the phone finally got into windows mobile, it did not pick up any signal even though beforehand it could. The phone also became super slow to the point where it was unusable.
I have gone into bootloader mode subsequently after reading on this forum and tried to reflash with a number of updates with active sync disabled and nothing else running with the phone connected via usb to the pc. None of the updates would even pick up the phone or allow me to flash it.
My phone is pretty much screwed, I have a spare so it is not that big of an issue but I would like to make this usable again if at all possible. So my question is how do I flash a rom while the phone is in bootloader mode?
P.S I forgot to include the Current boot screen details:
IPL - 1.05
SPL - 1.05
OS - 1.5.4.2
Hi,
You can use the Wizard Love Rom from here http://rapidshare.com/files/17792050/Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2.rar
Hey there, thanks for the advice, I did download that ROM but like I said before, none of the roms manage to flash my XDA because they all cannot seem to connect to it. Activesync does not even pick it up in windows mode, and even when I have it connected in bootloader mode via usb and I double click on the love rom, it goes through the motions but never managed to "verify the information with the pda"
Try a stock Tmobile ROM but not from bootloader. Also, I would check the activesync app on the device. Make sure it's set to use USB as the default connection method.
A few other steps to try...
Uninstall ActiveSync and install an older version. If still no go, try a newer version.
Try a different USB cable and/or USB port.
Try a different computer with XP, not Vista.
Try flashing it without the SIM card or any memory cards.
If all else fails, you can try the SD card flashing method. There are instructions in the Wiki on how to do it, but always a stock ROM.
Try this one... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311027
Updated IPL/SPL and radio 2.69
Hey Devis, I think I have come one step closer, I tried all the suggestions that you made. Except well now my phone will not even go into the operating system when I switch it on. It will boot and the version numbers show but then it just resets itself.
I tried a different usb cable and I am not using vista, tried a different pc and the same result. The one place I did have some marginal success was the sd card method.
Basically what happened is that It backed up the OS from my phone and then reloaded it, not exactly what I wanted since the OS and rom are both screwed on the phone so my question at this point is, is there anyway using the SD card method to load one of the stock roms onto my phone?
I searched around the net and found the opposite to the "r2sd all" function, would be the "s2d" function, would that allow me to flash the phone with a stock rom?
Thanks for your time, I am going to call it a night here in ireland and head to bed.
Ok, if the phone resets then you probbably have a dead/dying battery. Charge it for about an hour or so using the wall charger, not the USB cable. Try to restart it and see if you can get in the OS. I was looking in the SD card method thread and some guy was successful at restoring the image from the SD even though his OS had died. He then had a fully functional phone.
The other thing to do would be to get the image file from someone that has a living and breathing wizard, preferably one with a stock ROM. Since this method is the equivalent of making an image of a PC using Ghost, the restoration of such an image to your Wizard should work just fine.
Just make sure that the other Wizard is SIM and CID unlocked. Or just go buy a Wizard from the store, unlock SIM and CID, copy the image on the SD and flash your device. Or... since u've got a new Wizard in your hands, just take the freaking thing appart and swap the guts return the store bought wizard to the store saying that the thing just doesnt freaking work!
As for the AT commands... it is possible that s2d would workfor you, it doesn't work in my wizard. from what i have been reading it appears that the bootloader is password protected and that password is randomly generated. I haven't played long enough with it to figure out how to get the password.
It looks like you've got some "trial and error" processes ahead of you. There is a wealth of info on bootloader AT commands on Wiki, nothing for the Wizard though. But something may work... not sure.
I could try to get you a ROM dump from my Wizard but I already am on SPL/IPL 3.08 and running WM6. the SPL/IPL version alone wouldn't allow you to restore from my backup.
Hey Devis, thanks for your time, just woke up here, will work some more on the phone today and let you know what is going on
Hey Devis, I did not even get a chance to fiddle around with the phone today, from being able to switch on less than 24 hours ago, it does not even want to switch on now so I am going to officially declared it a brick and move on. Will see if anyone can fix it for me, spent way too much time already when I should be working on my dissertation, thanks alot anyway
Sorry to hear that...
I have bricked one phone myself in the past... my old Pana GD87 and I absolutely loved that phone. I know how you feel.
Good luck with your dissertation.

Updating radio - Disconnects From ActiveSync During SPL Mode

I have been trying to update my ROM lately with a new Radio and have been having one issue. Whenever I run the update utility, the screen will enter SPL Mode (all white) like it should, but when it enters SPL mode the activesync connection is lost, every time. I cannot get it connected again until I reboot the phone back into wm6, and then it connects to activesync just fine.
How can I get it to stay connected long enough for me to flash?
So to begin, when I want to update the radio, I should be able to update it in the same way I install a new ROM, correct? I use a SoftSPL file I found here and simply copy main file into that folder and then run start-SPL.
Anyone else experience this? It just seems to always disconnect and cause errors right before it updates the ROM.
The only thing that I can think of that could be causing it is the phone fell in some water for a couple seconds about a week ago. It's been drying out and seems to run ok again as of today. I was able to flash the ROM a couple times, so I know it's possible to flash. It took a couple of tries, but eventually did flash. However, I've tried about 10 times for the radio only (2.71.11) and it won't work.
Any ideas, other than it cannot be fixed due to water damage?
Note: I was just able to flash back to the cingular stock ROM (was using Jaguar 4.0). The stock ROM always seems to flash easily without difficulties - can unofficial ROMs not be flashed in the same manner? Just an .exe file that takes care of everything and never has activesync issues? It's flashing the stock ROM as I type, and it does not show the activesync connection is active. It was at first, but was lost (or appears so, anyways) as the flash began. The stock ROM is much easier to flash in my opinion and hasn't given me difficulties thus far, although other ROMs used to flash easily as well - not so much now.

First,You don't have to flash Radio Rom using 'SoftSPL',its an EXE file,it'll flash straight like an official stock rom,as it doesn't contain any IPL/SPL in it,it won't effect the bootloaders and the phone, its safe to flash to any device,G3 or G4,just connect your phone with pc via usb cable and run the Ruu included in the Radio Rom,it'll start to upgrade.
Secondly,YES! official stock Roms are easy to flash, cuz it contains official G3/G4 IPL/SPL included in them,it doesn't require CID unlocking the phone, whereas, custom build wm6 Roms require the phone to be CID unlocked and doesn't include IPL/SPL in it,so a G4 device cannot be CID unlocked, therefore, using 'SoftSPL' or 'HardSPL',its tricked into temporarily CID unlocked status, but actually its not CID unlocked.Hope its clear now

[Help] T-Mobile wiza200

i got a wiza200 G3 IPL/SPL 1.0.6 that is locked to T-Mobile, now the problems are:
1) that i cannot access the Bootloader, i hold down the keys but it just resets and no bootloader comes on.
2) tried hard resetting it, the procedure goes just fine, but does not reset.
3) In addition to my problem the phone has a password set at the boot of windows but i do not know the password
4) when i connect the usb nothing happens(i tried all the possible solutions for this one but i think my usb slot is broken)
5) its SIM/CID locked
6) theres no way of fixing this isnt it?i have searched the whole forum for a possible CID unlock through an SD Card
but as I can see noone has found a solution about that yet..and probably never will..
Update: I managed to hard reset it and it gets in Windows now but the usb still does not work, I have established a connection with ActiveSync through Bluetooth and im trying to use WST and i do 'Enab RAPI + Unsigned Apps' and get good results:
Uploading files...
Running Cert_SPCS.cab to change Unsigned
Prompt policy...
Running EnableRAPI.cab to remove restrictions
on RAPI communications...
All Done!
You can fully use this service tool now.
Repeat procedure only after a hard-reset.
Click to collapse
but the problem is when i try to CID Unlock i get this error:
Warning!
A device was detected but one (or both) of RAPI
Communications and Applications Policy isn't
enabled.
Use first button for that purpose and try again

Update 2
I Fixed this by manually put EnableRapi in the windows folder of the device and running it.
I used Lokiwiz and tried to CID/SIM Unlock it, but im not sure if it worked, after each step the device rebooted just
like it said in the 'readme' file, now is there any chance to put custom ROM to the device through bluetooth?
any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance
also i have another HTC wizard with custom WM6 if that helps..but its G4
Okay, first of all, your post is somewhat confusing, but it appears you are trying to get a custom rom onto your G3, right?
You already hard reset your phone, so now to deal with the bootloader problem...
1. turn your phone off, and remove the battery just to be sure.
2. hold the camera button on your phone.
3. insert USB cable into the phone.
Now your phone should be in the bootloader mode, and you are ready to start the flashing process!
Flash to the most recent Official ROM. Then follow whatever tutorial you found to flash your phone.
Oh, and I am not sure, but I do not think you should use the bluetoth connection to do the lokiwiz stuff. Use the USB cable. Also, I would suggest you find and learn to use the Wizard Service Tool. It does more, and I think the GUI might be just right for you.
thanks for the reply, but the problem is that my usb port is damaged and i cant get it to work. i managed to unlock cid/sim through lokiwiz using bluetooth, i tried flashing the rom with bluetooth but it wouldnt work and that is normal because when you use a custom ROM installer the installer makes the device go to the RPG mode and there it loses the bluetooth connectivity, is there any other way to install the ROM?maybe with SD Card or something? I have the searched the forums but cant find a solution that actually works
I did a search myslef, and all I came up with was this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366894
My only problem is this: I have never been able to sync a phone through bluetooth without first making a USB connection.
I do not want to upset you, I just want to make sure you don't give up on a possibly working phone.
i can make a connection using bluetooth and unlocked my sim/cid, now i just need a solution to flash the rom without the usb
then you will have to find someone with a G3 that is willing to do what is described in the link I posted above.
can anyone from here help me make this backup sd card?

[Q] Sync over USB problem

Hello,
I'm having issue synchronizing my Xperia X1 with my PC using ActiveSync or WMDC.
Powering my battery works but sync doesn't. I tried 2 other USB cables and same problem occur.
I tried different PC but still I have same problem. I event went back to original Stock and this doesn't helps also.
Should I send my device for fix? I have warranty? I can reverse to original Stock and put back original boot loader.
Hopefully they will fix it but if they don't I cannot add custom ROM any more
You can go and get a card reader to have your sd mini read in the pc, I got mine with 5 EUR and it also supports several type of cards. Also keep in mind that read/write speed is faster with a card reader than plugging your device in Disk Drive mode and this can be convenient sometimes
Good luck with the repair. If you revert to stock SPL and to stock rom and if your time of warranty is not up then you should have no problems, although in my country the service center sucks, they try to make you pay as much as possible...
I manage to resolve this issue. I revers back to my stock ROM 6.1 and still I cannot sync. Then I put back radio 1.10.25.18 and it START TO WORK !!!! I can sync now without any problem and it works now with 6.5 ROM and different radio.
This was last step before I want to return it to SonyEricsson service.
Usb problem

usb probem
how to update the radio 1.10.25.85 on xperia x1 by the micro sd card? since the usb is not working? thanks!
same as you update your ROM, just rename radio file to KOVSIMG.nbh and update it. Hope this will work for you also.
yes I do this procedure [KOVSimg.nbh] but gets caught in tla loading. WHAT do I do now .thanks!
there is no difference in flashing ROM and Radio, can you maybe check that you do all proceudre correctly? maybe you should download Radio from some other place, maybe is broken
i have the same problem...the battery is recharging but it cannot sync...maybe it has something to do with the version of windows...i was using windows vista and windows mobile device center and it synced and all was ok...but now i have windows 7 ultimate x64 and even though i downloaded the mobile device center it does not recognise the phone when i plug it in activesync mode....it still works perfectly in USB drive mode....but i cannot flash a new rom through the usb method now...recently tried it on a friends pc with windows xp and activesync and worked just fine...any thoughts on that??..
ok. I tried everything. [xperia x1] is not reconhesido by [usb].
neither the radio rom can be clicked. [already downloaded several saiter]. it hangs in louding
I've the same problem occured before but I'm not sure if it's as simple as mine.
All I did was disable "Faster Transfer" under Active Sync radio Button in USB 2 PC (Control Panel), hope it's helpful.
Ok, I'd try this, but I have two questions:
1) can any body give the link to the old Radio rom?
2) I already have a 828x rom installed. is that compatible with the old rom?

hm, OT post
1) radio selection, don't forget to install a matching rilphone.dll
2) afaik those two (meaning radio rom and normal rom) are not related like that, radios should work in all versions on all roms
it might be, that you suffer less functionality/signal strength when using an older radio version, but that is regionally different and cannot be generalized
hope you find your ideal combo

Hello Folks I need a hand here, I have a Pure, it suddenly after a normal charge, started giving the "warning battery too low device will shutdown" message right on the AT&T screen, and goes off. I tried a different battery with no luck.
I was planning change the ROM to any other, but when trying to run the .exe to get the onlinex 1.83 I get a message stating that phone is not synchzed, well I cant get it synchzed cause it does not load WM.

You need to provide better details.
What have you done? Did you attempt to flash a custom ROM before you HSPL'd? Why wouldn't WM start?
2 Things you need to look into, syncing through bootloader mode and recalibrating your battery.

Well I didnt provide details cause I was looking forward to find someone with the exact same problem. Some details here:
-Hard reset several times.
-tried powering on connected to the charger as well as disconnected.
-tried with and without sim card, also with and without memry card...just in case.
-Original ROM, phone is not modified.
-it enters in bootloader mode and its recognized as usb device by the pc.
-tested the battery and it holds the proper readings for V and A.
-left battery out for a night... .still the same.
phone will not load windows, it gets to the AT&T splash screen, 3 to 5 seconds after displayes de red letters on top: Warning Battery level too low your device will shut down.
how do I synch thru bootloader?
Thanks.
Snyc was a poor choice of words, I meant connect to PC.
It almost sounds as if HSPL began to flash then crashed, leaving your phone in its last state.
Was the battery low when you attempted to flash HSPL?
Does the light indicate charging when connected to AC?
I would try to find your stock ROM, sounds like your on the AT&T Pure? You'll find that on HTC's site, connect in bootloader and attempt to flash the stock ROM.

no no guys, I havenĀ“t even try to flash the HSPL, I just booted the phone in bootloader mode to make sure it was able to connect to the pc, but thats it.
it does turn to usb mode. it is recognized.
the phone started with this problem suddenly, pretty much stock, no mods on it.
Yes, the light turns on, it charges and if I try this batt in another telephone, it works perfectly. Now, other batt on this phone gives the same problem.
What I WANTED to do is to change the ROM to other than stock to see if it would fix the problem, but I cant even sync the phone to change the SPL. so I cant flash the cooked ROM.
is there a way?
is there a way to change the SPL to HSPL using the memory card? and then also change the ROM using the SD ? please share any info that may help, so dissapointed with this phone.

I do not think HSPL 1.83 will flash though SD Card, but 2.51 should, however 1.83 must be flashed first.
Find your stock ROM, through HTC's site using your S/N probably.
Once you find it, connect to your PC in bootloader mode and run the .exe for your stock ROM. Hopefully this would restore your device, then you would be in a better position to flash HSPL.

so I dont need to have HSPL in order to RE-flash the stock ROM?, now just for the record, the phone does have the stock ROM installed, but if I could re-flash it back again without the HSPL that might do the magic and fix the BATT message right ??
