I'm a relatively new XDA IIi user. I recently installed Navigator 6 which runs fine but the bluetooth handsfree won't work at all, even when Nav6 isn't running. Handsfree worked perfectly with Navigator 5.21.
Anyone help me out on this?
Does anyone know if it's possible to revert to the Navigator 5.21 bluetooth driver after installing Navigator 6.00 or implementing some other fix for this?
Forgot to mention that the XDA IIi is discoverable with Nav6 installed but on trying to connect with my TomTomGO700 I get an error reporting that there are no useable services on the XDA IIi. My colleague has the same problem with a Parrot in-car handsfree system which works perfectly again when Nav6 is un-installed.
Please help me out here someone.

i have exactly the same problem. All ok before TTN6 but after renders my bluetooth carkit unusable.
Any ideas anyone?

Hi *,
I have had this problem since a while and never got a solution. I would like to know if there is a software solution to prevent the permanent muting as soon as tomtom or the GPS add-on starts..
GPS on => Mute on
The Mute works perfectly with the phone. BUT not with Tomtom..
Does anyone else experience this muting problem.. I read in this forum some potential solutions but most of them include hardware.. I am pretty sure it is more a software issue.. With destinator this problem does NOT exist..
I forgot to mention that I am using:
MDA I
original T-Mobile professional Carkit
Royaltek RGM 2000 GPS mouse
Tomtom Navigator
No one with the same experience??
Thank you in advance..
I thought I would add my tuppenyworth to the Tomtom problems with the XDA 2i. Bought a wired Tomtom "Official" GPS receiver for it and tried it with TT5 to no avail. It would not recognise the receiver at all no matter how I tried to specify it's com ports etc..
I eventually upgraded to TT5.1 and it worked immediately with no problems at all. Been working fine ever since.
if it matters
hi, i have a xda 2i and use tomtom 5.20, when i use my wired gps i was told to switch off the infra red beam, mine seams to work like that.
port problem?
could anybody help? my xda2i never works with tomtom5...
how to switch the beam off pls??
switch off receiving beam????
under setting > connections > beam
O2 XDAIIi with tomtom 5.21 and BT GPS receiver
but there is still problem with the signals, it can display the right UTC time, and numbers of satellites, such as 29 on the North, but there all gray and said no valid GPS signal!
the com ports couldn't be changed which are com5 inboard, com6 outboard.
does anyone know what the proble is pls??
ps: I installed the BTHTools1100, but no change
see the attachment pic
many thanks
Hi Piers,
i've got exactly the same problem :-(.
With a GlobalStar BT348, the GPS signals are plainly perfect. But when i connect the official Tomtom wired receiver, i only get the grey bars, although, like you, the UTC and spinning wheel are there, indicating the GPS is detected.
I looked at the compatibility list on the Tomtom site, and besides Dell and iPaqs, there seems to be nothing compatible with the wired receiver.
Anybody has other information?
Hi again,
I think I found the solution
1. of course, "receive all incoming beams" has to be off
2. apparently, you can not have a paired BT GPS receiver (even inactive) when you want to use the wired Tomtom receiver...
I guess it has to do with the way WM2005 deals with GPS... :?:
So, in BT devices, delete the partnership with the BT receiver and everything works fine with the wired one. In TT5, simply declare the receiver as a wired Tomtom
I used it this morning, driving 100km, 90minutes, without a crash or anything
Hi Guys,
Recent got an XDA IIi after being with the older XDA II for over 16 Months.
But I have recently run into problems with my BT Car kit :
Motorola Bluetooth Car Kit HFW-8000.
Basically the problem is that it does not always connect to the Car Kit and when it does it will only from time to time connect and let me have a handfree conversation.
I have also used the Broadcom Bluetooth Cab file here in order to extend what Bluetooth Profiles that can be used but seems not to have any great bearing to stablize the issue.
So I went down the Hard Reset Road but again still intermittent issues, I then upgraded the ROM to the New one on the O2 Website the v 1.11.169 ROM.
I also had similar issues with the XDA II but it was resolved by using the Pocket Bluetooth tools, which was great and never once after installing it did I have any issues with the Car Kit.
http://www.bluetooth.jazztel.es/
One of my questions is, is there a similar programme to to above Pocket Bluetooth tools for the XDA IIi as I have tried it with the XDA IIi but does not work.
Or does anyone know how you would revert to have the XDA II radio or is there a work around for it.
Thanks Guys
Woody
Hi Woody_XDA,
I have had my XDA2i for a couple of months now and recently got a O2 blue headset for it, I had simular problems with the headset disconnecting and having to manually connect every time I switched it on. After browsing this wonderfull forum I decided to do a corperate install and get rid of the O2 active interface, since then no problems at all. I now use Pugs modified ROM version 162 with radio 1.04 and have no stability problems at all with no twice weekly reset. Hope this helps you and many thanks to Pug for his ROM.
Mace
Ditto, I also use the custom firmware with 1.04 radio and bluetooth works a charm. It still eats battery like nothing else, but it works with no problems. Also like the fact that the XDA can cope with my GPS receiver and my handsfree kit simultaneously, that's handy for in the car.
Cheers Guys for the information, took it on board and works great, did a great deal of stress testing in order to confirm it and works excellent..Thanks to PUG again and guys thanks for the info much appreciated and this is by far a great forum
Mace - you mention some bluetooth issues being resolved since you applied the custom ROM... I posted in the Alpine Applications forum here the other day a list of issues with bluetooth that I was wondering had been addressed - so far no reply - are these the symptoms that were cured for you??
Hi Bewlay Brother sorry, I missed your other post on Bluetooth issues, my original problem was that every time I switched on my BT headset , which is a O2 Blue, I had to open the BT manager and make the connection, the phone would then occasionally lose the connection and sometimes whilst still showing a connection refuse to transfer the call. This was using the official 162 ROM with the O2 active UI. I have since installed Pugs 162 ROM with radio1.04 and done a corporate install and BT seems to work perfectly, switch on the headset, it connects, never loses pairing and transfers calls.
Hope this helps you, and thanks again to Pug,
Mace.
Mace - what you describe sounds similar - my problems were essentially the loss of pairing with my Motorola headset a lot of the times when the XDAIIi switched off its display and went into stand-by mode, also if I closed the boom bike on the headset (to temporarily turn off the headset) it would fail to re-pair when I next opened the boom mike... the other issue was that I had to make sure the phone keyboard was displayed on the XDA once I had paired up otherwise the last number redial function on the headset would not work - if I pressed the dial button on headset and the phone display was not on the screen it would simply open the phone display function but fail to then dial the number - really crap. Also reception was poor to headset even over relatively short distances from the XDA. IF these areas in particular could be cured by the upgrade then I am eager to do it - I must admit I have read that this upgrade has not been without problems for some people here so it is going to be a tough call.
Just a thought, but have you done a personal or corporate install as I think the main fix with Pugs ROM was the upgrade to radio 1.04, which I don’t think affects the BT, so a corporate install with your existing ROM may make a difference.
Did a corporate install when it was new out of the box...
whats the difference between the corporate and personal install?
Corporate doesn't install ANY of the branded O2 interface - so no gubbins, nothing to slow down the phone, you just get a bog standard Windows Mobile 2003 SE installation, aside from the O2 GPRS and SMS settings. Bosh.
hi
i've been reading the posts and i have the same problem where can i get hold of pug's ROM if it's possible cos this seems to get rid of the problem
And then today, headset will not automatically connect, needing Bluetooth manager to be opened to make the connection. AARRRGH!
BT car kit problems
I have the 1.04 Radio, but it still won't sync with my 2003 BMW 325xi bluetooh or with my 2005 Acura MDX bluetooth.

Unstable Bluetooth Signal Strength - Samsung WEP200 Bluetooth Headset
Hi, I just got a Samsung WEP200 Bluetooth Headset. It would pair with my O2 XDAIIi but I cannot hear any voice in both incoming and outgoing calls. When I check the BT Manager, it shows a totally unstable BT strength that varies from very strong to very weak. The same headset worked well with other BT phones. My ROM version is 1.11.00 WWE, Radio version 1.04.00.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can not connect Bluetooth please help...

I have tried to connect my qtek 2020i through bluetooth with my carradio. It is a blaupunkt casablanca MP57 with a bluetooth interface audio device.
When I search for device it finds the radio, next the security code is asked, I enter it, next it is paired. I have checked the "Hands free" option.
On the display of the audio device on the qtek, I can see the radio but I can not use it . When I try to make a call it says "Connection Failed".
When I use a a bluetooth headset it is working ok,
Is there a bluetooth update for an qtek 2020i?
Does somebody know the solution....
Many Many Thanx!!!
blaupunkt hamburg mp68 bluetooth problems with xda 2i
hi all,
a week ago i bought a new car radio, blaupunkt hamburg mp68. i have some difficulties, to connect it with a xda 2i. the xda can recognize the radio, but it's not connecting. does anyone have any ideas? blaupunkt bluetooth connection perfectly works with a nokia e50, and a nokia 6310i (that's a surprise!), so i don't understand the situation at all. previously my xda was connected with a bluetooth headset, a gps reciever, other phones, and my laptop, and it all worked fine (and still works fine). should i search for some kind of update for my xda? what are you recommend?
thanks for your help!

I have TomTom or CoPilot open and take/make a call via my bluetooth headset. Both programs will then stop talking to me both during and after the call. I have to reset the device to get them to talk again (even restarting the program doesn't work). Sound on the device functions properly. Is there anyone else experiencing this and know of a fix?
Maybe give us your Rom and radio for help.
Sure its garmin's wm6.1 rom (v1.2 I think) with the radio that's 1.58... (I'm at work without my phone (I work in a prison) thus cannot check. But, this was a problem with TomTom on my tilt with the standard att rom before I changed to garmin also.
Thanks,
Alan
