Serial Cable Pinout - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I was wondering if anybody knows how to or has the pinout to make a serial cable for my k-jam. I am trying 2 use xda manipulator and cant seem 2 find any celar info on the pinouts or how to make a serial cable. Any help would be welcome, THANX!

AFAIK there is no way to connect the wizard to a serial...BUT...the infrared port acts as a serial, maybe u can use ur program thru the ir...reading around about xda manipulator makes me think that maybe u can use this method:
http://www.pdagold.com/articles/detail.asp?a=269
to create a dialup connection and try to point xda manipulator to the port stated by that dialup connection...

btw...why not to use awizard or lokiwiz? i think both do sim-unlock

USB solution for Wireless Modem??

Anyone have/know of a solution to use USB instead of Serial for the wireless modem fetures?
The Laptop systems I build are too small and dont offer LPT or Serial ports.
Thanx

-- I do have a USB to Serial adapter kit from Belkin but would rather not have to use that.
I know how to do it: there's just no freakin' time!
Could someone please do the following:
- Create a virtual serial port on the PC. (This is the only non-trivial part, especially if it must work under 98/ME as well as under NT/2000/XP.)
- Verify presence of special DLL upon ActiveSync, transfer DLL if it's not there.
- When COM port on host PC is opened, signal is sent to DLL, which proceeds to suspend TAPI and talk to the the modem. (See XDAunlock.exe source for details)
- Use the documented method for transferring streaming data via ActiveSync, from the virtual comm port, via the DLL, to the modem. And vice versa, ofcourse. Comm port can be at any speed, modem is 115k2.
- Revert to normal when virtual COM port is closed.
If someone has code for a virtual com-port lying around, the rest isn't hard, and it would make a lot of people very happy.
well i guess ill do this instead for now
here is a nice small adapter i found w a virtual port - similar to the Belkin i already have but smaller in size (and this is important)

IrDA and external serial

Hi,
I have an xda with pocketpc 2002.
I've been trying to activate both IrDA and serial port (for my GPS) with no success.
I can use only one at a time, changing the Port value in Irsir1 setting.
Is there a way to use both together?
This can be done at the expense of deactivating the USB port as I sync with my IrDA.
Thanks,
Sjack.

I think they both use the same COMM port so its one or the other.
You can search this forum as much has been written on this.

miniusb to serial adapter for tytn2 ?

Hi all,
I've got a HTC TytnII and am using a fantastic little application called mToken to connect to all our servers via SSH etc..
I did notice there is also a "Direct COM Port" feature on this application aswell.
PWOOOAAAR, now that would be nice just to carry my phone into a Server room to connect to a Cisco Router via console.
However, I would need a miniusb to serial adapter.
I actually have a usb to serial adapter for my laptop because my laptop doesn't have a serial port for this type of work, can you get a miniusb to serial ?
Has anyone had any experience with this ?
Can it work ? Does it work ?
Thanks all
Regards,
geebz.
Solution
Hi,
The TyTN II cannot be used with USB Hardware that requires the Host Mode as serial ports.
One solution is to use BluePort XP. I'm using it myself successfully with PockeTTY (I don't know mToken, but I think that this should work too)

RS 232 / Serial

Hi,
I allways believed there is no RS232 on HTC Devices. Today I found something that confuses me:
http://bestcelldist.com/htc_tytn_ii_serial_data_cable.html
and this:
http://www.ppc-phones.de/index.php?site=ppcphones/htc_p4550.htm
is this Real? - where can you buy such cables? anybody a Wiring diagramm?
As our Devices miss USB Hosts maybe this is a chance to attache some custom Hardware.

Interesting. Anyone ever give it a try ?
They do have a free download available...

I read the manual and they say: "To connect a USB device to your Pocket PC, your mobile device must have a USB Host connector. Not all Windows Mobile Devices have it."
Kaiser do not have USB host.
I also believe that you cannot draw power from USB. So this leaves BT mouse as only option.

Connect XDA IIi to vista via serial

Hi guys,
I bought a XDA IIi second hand to use with my telescope via a program called Astromist. So i bought a USB to RS232 converter and a XDAIIi serial cable, downloaded WMDC but i cant get them to connect.
I've also tried on my XP laptop with activesync 4.5 but no different. In device manager the COM4 is available and ive made sure that the baud rate is 115200 as the XDA is. Data bits 8 parity none stop bits 1 flow control none.
Ive tried multiple configurations to no avail. The cable needs to be serial as there is a serial port on the decoder circuit on the telescope.
HELP???GUYS???
I read on WMDC a USB connection is required on first use. Can anyone point me to the USB driver?
