Hey I want to buy the Plantronics Explorer 320 BT headset. Does anyone know if this Bluetooth Headset can initiate Voice Command with the Registry Hack?
Also how is the voice quality.
Thanks
I have this headset. I have not attempted to use voice commander or any other type of voice activated calling so I can't personally say. I have heard that it does work, and I belive that the instructions talk about voice dialing.
As for the sound quality, it doesn't really work in loud areas and calls sound a little canny or distant.
but you can redirect the audio from the device to the headset with the bt audio program on this webiste! haven't had time to play an mp3 to see how the quality is.
Plantronics Discovery 640
I use the plantronics discovery 640. its a great headset, the sound quality is good even in noisy environments IMO...I work in construction so I can say its been put to the test. Voice Command works well with this one... Plantronics has the exclusive multi-point technology which means that you can pair and accept call from two different devices. Here's the kicker...I found that my wizard can accept a call and send it to the headset all while having an active BT connection to my Garmin GPS unit...cool huh

I have looked around, can someone post info on how to move all audio to go to my bluetooth headset so i can use microsoft voice command from headset. i am using win2003SE rom 1.40.00. thank you
I'm afraid that this is not possible with 1.40 ROM (WM2003SE) as it uses the widcomm BT stack which at present does not support routing of device audio to / from a headset (The closest is the High Quality Audio which one or two people have reported succes with in getting audio TO the BT headset but NO-ONE has managed to get voice activation working yet!)
You know its too bad this doesn't work for the BA series. I really liked that feature on the HP6315. Its the one thing I miss from the 6315. Voice Command worked and All audio could be diverted to Bluetooth on the 6315, even with the cheapest BT headset. It would have been nice if someone could have poached the Ipaq Audio package and ported it to the BA.
Has anyone been able to configure their Jawbone (or other mono headset) to hear playback via A2DP or other means?
I've googled the entire interweb and cannot seem to get this to work.
The only option I have for the device in the bluetooth manager is "headset" the "set as stereo headset" is grayed out.
Thanks for any help!

The Jawbone doesn't support A2DP. There are programs that allow you to stream audio to it (See post above). However, they stream it at phone call quality, which means music sounds god awful. Plus, it eats the battery of the Jawbone (which thinks its it making a phone call).
If you actually want bearable audio, you want a real A2DP headset.
The Jabra BT8040 supports A2DP natively and is an excellent BT headset. I wish it had a standard power plug (fewer things to pack for business trips) but other than that, it rocks.
I also have a Jawbone and prefer the BT8040...the Jawbone has much outstanding noise cancellation but the BT8040 beats it in every other category IMHO.
Or use this small free utility to send all the Audio output to the blue tooth headset (even if it doesn't support A2DP).

Works flawlessly on my phone
if your bluetooth doesn't have a2dp and you want to force audio throught the regular bluetooth headset then look for the btaudio.cab
I find this to be the easier one to use. Run the can and there will be an icon under programs. Click it will force audio and click it again will undo. This is simple cause it doesnt hog system resources.
Any one here familiar with a "work-around" (such as posted above) for the android platform?
I own a nexus one and Jawbone prime - wish I could stream music/voip(!) over my jawbone (blue tooth ear piece)..
Thanks
Jawbone 2 - should have a2dp

I have a jawbone 2 which I love for the noise cancellation, but if I could get it to support A2DP the possibilities for voice control of my GS3 would be endless. I know this is an old thread, but it would be great if anyone has figured this out.
Please let me know if there has been a workaround.
Thanks

I like to listen to music or the radio (Resco) with my Jawbone or other BT headset.
I also like to occasionally use Voice Speed Dial by tapping on my BT headset and speaking a name to dial.
How does one turn one of those functionalities off or just switch between the two. (? registry setting). When I have the single ear BT headset on and want to have the music on the Kaiser switch to the headset by tapping on the headset - voice speed dial starts instead.
Obviously, the S9 stereo headset can do both - as you pair it show that you can choose both but other single ear BT headsets do not have a option for wireless music.
I have used it in the past with my old HTC Universal - it was a registry setting change - but that setting is not there in the Kaiser. (HKLM/Software/OEM/Voicecommand/launchapenable (changing 1 to 0) made this work).
Any ideas?
Maybe the question should be - how does one turn Voice Speed Dial off?
Sorry I have no answer that really helps but one thing is clear to me is the difference between one-ear BT headsets and stereo (S9 like) bt headset : they don't use the same bluetooth profile.
the one-ear one connects via the Headset profile and the stereo ones connect with the A2DP one (stereo bluetooth).
My 2 cents : Jabra has released a headset made of two parts : this is a stereo a2DBheadset that brings stereo by connecting a separate earphone to the first one. It sure brings headphone and A2DP bluetooth profiles : maybe it can be used with A2DP profile with only one ear linked ?
So, I've been trying to use my BT headset and a voice recorder but Diamonds seems to use only its internal microphone and not BT's one. Jabra BT 3030 (dogtag) is the device I'm using. There are wireless stereo and handsfree profiles in BT settings which are both checked.
Why I can't record my voice with Jabra? Is there a software way to make it use Jabra's microphone?
Apart from this everything else (calls and streaming music) works fine.
No ideas? Anybody? I sent the problem to Jabra/HTC support but didn't get nothing concrete as an answer.
I can't believe that bluetooth device's microphone can't be used for recording?
The same thing worked on Symbian Nokia device I used before...
The answer...
is VJVolubilis

I tried it to make it possible to talk with voiceclips in the live messenger, trough the headset, works perfectly. Axel
Hey all,
I have HD7 and listen to music when travelling, everything works fine. But just recently I attempted to watch a film and the sound will not play through the Bluetooth headphones, it transfers the sound to the speakers? Anyone know how to change this at all??

Hi, I noticed the same issue on mine and there seems no way to change it.
I will offer a thought on why i think is happening.
On my other Android phones only the Galaxy S actually did a good job of keeping the audio and video in sync when using Bluetooth A2DP. The protocol has buffering in it so for audio its no problem but video can be tricky.
I think they just set it to not use Bluetooth for video audio to save complaints.
shame.

Hello, do you have the possibility to call a contact with the voice ( voice dialing) by the headset like on the HD1 ( and not on the HD2) ?
Thanks

I don't know whether you can activate the voice dialing using purely the headset, but you can use voice dial through a bluetooth headset. Just connect the headset and then hold down the start button until it asks you to speak. It works no matter which app you're using.
It also works without the headset.
bluetooth headphones
Hi,
To Russ, i previously had a Touch Diamond 2 and used these same headphones and it worked perfectly. I actually believe it has something to do with Zune and the player that they use?, it cant recognise that a headset is attached and therefore reverts to the speakers.
With regards to activating the voice dialing, with my bluetooth headphones which are Sony ericsson ones, it has an answer button, which when pressed with no incoming call it activates the voice dialling just as usual saying the same "Call mum".

Thank you, goood news because the HD2's bluetooth stack wasn't able to hear the voice dialing by the blutooth headset , and it only works only by the HD2's microphone.
Thank you

I am not sure if you are still looking for this, but YES, the voice dialing can be activated using the BT Headset. I have a Voyager Pro Plus and it works just fine.
As per the original thread title, I am having the same problem playing video files audio not getting transmitted via my BT Headset, So I called HTC to ask them what was the problem. They confirmed it is a software issue.
He said, it was a WP7 limitation. May be the future updates might get that feature, but right now it SUX. I am not sure how MS managed to F#$% this up. I am really Pissed. I was waiting for ever for this Headset so that I can watch my movies during my commute with the convenience of a BT Headset, now the whole purpose is lost.
